381  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Using a Stop loss "Good" or "Bad" on: April 21, 2022, 06:54:55 PM
I have traded and analyzed several charts and I have come to a conclusion that trading with a stop loss is the easiest way to lose money and not a safety net because if your analysis is correct what happens most of the times is markets go for the stop losses which takes you out of the market and price turns to your predicted direction after the stop hunt which many consider as market manipulations.

So is using a stop loss good or bad?

Do we have traders that trade without them, if yes what's your win ratio using this strategy?
see it depends on you, because using a stop loss is the measure i find that will make to be safe in your trading industry, so the objectives of stop loss yields vitals techniques in trading because it act as a recovery agent in trading, but emphasising that it doesn't add any thing meaningful or makes you lose your trading, i will portray that it's base on your perception, because it's very obvious that using stop loss contributes immensely to alternative coins recovery via trading
I agree that it is a personal choice. In fact, I believe that it could be based on each trade as well. There are situations where I do not trust the project enough and I use the stop loss because I do not want to hold that token for too long and want to get out if it doesn't go up, did that with dozens of coins and there are situations where I want to hold it even though it could go down 50%, in fact I would be willing to even buy more of it as well.

This is the difference and I believe that if we are at that stage, we are going to definitely enjoy something close to this when talking about stop loss. Sometimes it is good to use it, sometimes you may not want to.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another attempt at Bitcoin ETF..You knew it was coming once BTC raised above ATH on: April 21, 2022, 11:38:19 AM
It has been going on for a long time, we have been waiting for proper Bitcoin ETF for a long time and I believe that even if it happens, it will not be a huge deal, it will not be a "now we will be 100k+ easily!!" type of bull run. It is good, it will eventually happen one day and make us all happy, but it is really not a big deal at all.

We are already in crypto itself, we are already buying bitcoin and people are not worried about it too much. Just adding an ETF version of the same thing can't be really that much of a big deal, and those people will not be actually holding their coins, they would be paying someone to hold imaginary versions.
383  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - 🦉 DRAKE x STAKE 🥩 - Watford FC & UFC Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: April 21, 2022, 11:04:59 AM
I think most people were waiting for another free bonuses but in fact there is no other free bonus code during Easter, that's why they feel disappointed. I cant deny that I was expecting another bonus as well but I'm not that disappointed if there is no bonus because I did not take the content of the last email as a promise. It is obvious that they are free to express their feeling but they should also need to accept the fact what they expect is not coming.
Same with you waiting for the bonus code too but the last code seems to be shared in a live stream that not everyone can participate
It's okay we end easter with no extra bonus we know stake has been generous some time ago with the announcement of new sponsors
It's just that not everyone understands it.
Yeah since it was first of April, people assumed it was too early and there would be a few more. If it was during the regular time then nobody would even imagine a new second one but since it was out of the period they normally give it, and on the first of the month then people started to speculate if there will be more or not.

This is why I believe that we were expecting so much from stake even though they didn't even say anything, they never said they would give a second one, they just said the streams and the promotions that we already got, never said free money a second time this month at all. All in all, this isn't a big deal, we will get over it pretty quickly.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 20, 2022, 09:50:39 PM
Manchester City and England forward Raheem Sterling, 27, is on a list of players AC Milan want to sign amid reports of a potential £850m takeover of the 18-time champions of Italy. Is this a good decision for Manchester City? What if Haaland gets hurt?
Manchester City have told Dortmund and Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland, 21, that he could join Real Madrid later in his career if he moves to the Etihad this summer. The signing-on fee and agent commission on a potential deal could add £40m to the £63m transfer fee stipulated by Haaland's release clause. Interesting news. Does Haaland really have that much desire to play for Real once?
Real Madrid and Barcelona are both interested in signing Chelsea and Germany defender Antonio Rudiger, 29, who is out of contract at the end of the season but is keen to stay at Stamford Bridge. What Rudiger will decide in the end?
I doubt that Sterling is at a level where he would go to Milan, that would be a drop down for him. He plays well in City which is a much much better team than Milan, so why go there right now? I get that they might have some big takeover and all, but I do not think that it means Sterling needs to quit City and go there.

I do not know if Haaland wants to play for Madrid all that much, doubt that any player who really desires to play for Madrid all that much would send his father to meet with Barcelona, which means he must be just considering his options. I wouldn't go to City neither if I were him, I would pick Barcelona or Madrid, but if he went to City, he would definitely be a beast there for sure.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are the criteria for choosing altcoin on: April 20, 2022, 02:48:10 PM
At a time like this most investors get confused about the right altcoin to invest in and this confusion always leaves many to wonder about what criteria to choose when deciding on the right coin to buy for a long-term base. Should utility alone be a major factor in determining a good altcoin and being speculative in the price?
1. Utility
2. No anonymous devs
3. Active development and continuous changes

This is 3 of the things i do really much prefer on seeing before i do make investment with some altcoins specially if its new even though its not really that precise
nor give out assurance of success but still you could really still have some chance on hitting a good project rather than on having no criteria at all.
I do not care about the anonymous devs if they are not really involved too much, just released it and let the public takeover, but if they are constantly involved and the team doing something in the future that they wrote on the roadmap, then of course I will care about it. Maybe they are capable of doing it, or maybe they are not capable of it and their CV would say so.

Plus, the utility part means that there will be a reason to buy it, but just "any" utility wouldn't fly with me, there needs to be some sort of good reason for people to use it, otherwise it would not make any sense to me at all and I rather know what I am getting into and how I could use it if I do not want to just invest.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin is more likely to be 100X on: April 20, 2022, 02:14:16 PM
I have seen that people are looking at 100x too realistically here. I mean you shouldn't be waiting for that kind of return that easily. I am not saying that we can't, but it will not be a simple thing and it would be a rare thing. Why not look for smaller returns? If you are a newbie, buying btc with 70% of your money and ETH with 30% of your money would be a great way to start.

There are a few places where you could "stake" them as well, not really stake but more like gain some interest on putting your money there. It would be a great return and you would be able to learn more about crypto while still being in crypto without risking anything at all.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 19, 2022, 10:15:25 PM
I admit that yesterday's defeat of Barcelona is a great surprise for me. Until the match against Eintracht, Barcelona looked better and better from match to match. Could it be the first crisis during Xavi's tenure?
Barcelona's point loss can be used by Betis today, who should beat Elche. In this case, 4 teams vying for the runner-up will have 60 points each. The end of the season is going to be very interesting.
Yea, I think the elimination from the Europa competition played a physiological effects on the heads of the players, and he cause them to loss shockingly to Cadiz, I think Xavi Hernandez need to motivate his players to move on, giving them good reason to finish the season strongly, I think they have been winning games, I think it was eleven straight consecutive games won before that lose in the Europa League against Frankfurt so they need to try and move on and end the season on a high.
I think it is about the momentum and eventual loss. They have been beating everyone for so long that eventually it was expected of them to start losing. First it was Frankfurt, now it's Cadiz.

I am not saying that they will keep on losing, maybe they won't lose another game until the season ends, but it was always obvious that they couldn't handle a win streak up until the season ends. They had a great great run, maybe they are out of europa which is a bad thing but they shouldn't have been there to begin with so that's fine in my mind, and they will probably be second in the league anyway which is the best case considering how they started the league.
388  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto prices crash as threat of war looms on: April 19, 2022, 09:12:19 PM
I don't think the bitcoin price drop in the last few weeks has anything to do with the Russia-Ukraine war situation. I see bitcoin's price dropping right now as macroeconomic and geopolitical headwinds continue. But I believe that the decline in the price of bitcoin is only temporary and I am optimistic that the price of bitcoin will again experience a significant increase in the next few months.
Russia-Ukraine situation has been basically "stable" for a month now. I mean the war is still going on, everyday people are dying, everyday new places are bombarded, everyday there are more devastation but the world "got used to it" at this stage.

It's a sad fact, but humanity moved on, if anything new happens, like some bigger news inside the war then we will hear about it, but at this point it started and it hasn't ended yet, those are the information that we are shared and nothing bigger is getting worldwide attention. In a situation where it doesn't get that much attention, I do not think that it would really matter all that much for crypto neither.
389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin could hit $100,000 within a year, crypto firm's CEO predicts! on: April 19, 2022, 07:28:24 PM
Or which institutions are going to invest next on bitcoin? Bitcoin narrative have change in the last 4-5 years that push it to $69k. I didn't see it coming from government or companies that are willing to put their assets into bitcoin. But this time, we need more, are gold investors going to shift so that we will going to hit $100k or more in the next years? Or will retail still going to be the fuel for that six digits?
Only the way to find out is to stay tuned on the news, for sure there are still more institutions that are not yet involved in to bitcoins and still want to invest on it because the name of bitcoin is still getting popular, it gets wider and wider every single day but nice number there 69k hehe.

I think bitcoin will come back on that number soon and maybe he will stay on it, not because it's a nice number but we all now that bitcoin is getting stable sometimes. Maybe next time, that is going to be the next support. The fuel to see bitcoin on a new high can come from different sources including govt's, Co's, and of course our very own retail investors.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 18, 2022, 09:53:51 PM
And the bigger problem is ICC is not going to do anything that takes away the supply of money. I am quite sure that these teams which play with a lot of outsiders have really good enough money to give ICC and it will be a big loss for ICC to make any rules against them.

So, I don't think we are going to get any clear-cut solution for this problem and the smaller teams are surely going to suffer from this.
You are right about ICC and their way of work they have never been helpful for countries with native talent because they feel it needs some good funds which are not available and on other side GCC countries are enough rich, and they are investing funds for this and having players from subcontinent and other developing countries which are helping them for their representation into ICC events.

Sometime back there was a suggestion that fix number of players from other countries and support native players for every country but this all fail because ICC need money, and it's only available for them from GCC which is very important, so this suggestion was also scraped most chances we will never have any solution for this and these countries will take good advantage of this all.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The new star of the stock market is APE COIN!! on: April 18, 2022, 02:56:00 PM
Honestly, personally, I've always had a bit of skepticism about the jargon that they're talking about so much in this space, like a new kind of hype and driving people to care about it more. I also got a bit of profit from participating in this coin, but what I am more interested in is that they have an airdrop program for those who can get early access to it. It is surprising to see that there are a few individuals who claim to have received tens of thousands of dollars from the project.
You're skeptical but you still insist to invest on this coin? But, you must be happy because I see that you earn something but now that you realized that this coin is too controversial, I guess it's now time for you drop this and stick on the classic ones such as bitcoin.

The airdrop your talking about is not for those who are early to get the coin but you can get an airdrop if you have bought the ape NFT but I don't think you can afford it. The lowest price of it can cost thousands of dollars. Forget about the airdrop, you can still earn decent if you invest your money wisely on the coins that have a real future, not on something that is only famous for a while.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive income : Bank interest vs staking on: April 17, 2022, 01:58:10 PM
Staking if you are holding for long term. But you should keep in mind about the volatility. You might get a 10% APY, but if the price of the coin falls by 20%, you lose 10% (if you sell. You don't lose anything if you don't sell). Bank interest gives you flat interest and the fiat currency isn't volatile. So you don't have to worry about your money in short term. But don't forget about the inflation. Your savings account will give you an interest between 1% to at best 3%, but the inflation in the long run leaves you with no profit/interest. Instead you will be losing money if you keep your funds in the bank for a long period of time. Worse if your country is facing hyper inflation.
I agree with staking as well. Volatility is one thing to keep in mind when you are staking and that is a scary thing. However, the banks are even scarier because they offer you "usually" less than what the inflation rate is. Look at the inflation rate in your nation and look at what the interest rate is, I can 100%guarantee you that it is almost always lower.

It means that even though your money goes up, that means your profit doesn't go up and even though the amount looks higher, the value of that amount is lower. This is why bank savings means that it has nothing to do with profiting, you are actually losing money when you think you are earning.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My Investing Coin on: April 17, 2022, 01:12:20 PM
looks like you are failing in your investment ? and besides why buy before the market crash ? have you sold the coins already or keeping them hold?
because if you are for holding then you must understand that the best time to buy is when the market dumped and that is the cheapest price right?
Maybe he doesn't understand how to get the coins he likes at a low price, even though in economic law it is very clear that buying it when the market is dumping so that he can buy coins at a low price and then sell them at a high price when the market starts Bulls.
Unfortunately buying when it is low and selling when it is high sounds like the most simplest thing in the world but it is also oxymoron in itself as well that people do not realize. This means that if you want to buy when it is low, and if everyone wants to buy at low, then how could it get low? I have talked about this before.

Plus, when you talk about the emotional stuff, where people would not be able to actually provide anything that is emotionally capable of keep holding something when it is going down. They should, that is how money is made, it is not easy but why would making so much money would be easy anyway, it will be a thing that will be difficult.
394  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: An advice for newbies and plebs on: April 17, 2022, 12:03:26 PM
The general rule in financial advises: you dont borrow money to invest.  Invest whatever is left after: 1. Paying off bills   2.  Setting aside emergency fund for 3 to 6 months.  3. Paying off debts.  Then any extra, you invest.

Only invest what you can afford to lose. What if the investment went bad. You would be buried in debts.
Only invest what you can afford to lose is a very tricky situation when you are not a rich person. For example I do this, I do not invest money that I shouldn't, and that means I grow my investment each time I get my salary and put some of it on bitcoin.

However, there are periods when urgent money needs happen, like health reasons for example, or debt that got created because of something else that you need to pay, an accident, or a new tax that you have to pay, whatever. At that point you will have to cash out and get out, which could be during a period when the price is low, or could be in a period when it's high. You never know, and it is hard to know beforehand.
395  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|🌼BFG & BSW event for $140K+|📈BFG competition HOTBIT on: April 17, 2022, 09:50:53 AM
This is my first time to notice that betfury has a mirror site but newbie players will be uncomfortable using it especially those players with huge amount of balance since typically casino has no mirror site like this due to the fact that money is involved while it can be mistake a phishing site especially if you didn't know the list of official  mirror site. I never experienced any delays using Betfury so I wonder there's really a lot of player using that mirror site at this moment.
The phishing possibility does make it a scary thing, you could try it but everyone would be afraid of it for sure. Phishing websites however usually do not have your bankroll in it that allows you to withdraw, which you could understand from but if you share your email and password on them, you could get it hacked on the original one and that is what people are afraid of.

I personally believe that we could get away from all of this if you just use the original website and do not use the alternative, if you have to, just ask it here and get a confirmation on the website directly on this page and then you could use those ones if you want to.
There are official ones that you could see from the current website and those are the legit ones. That way you wouldn't be getting screwed with phishing. They already share the official ones, like .ai, .gg and so forth. Those are official and those are shared both here, and on their website as well.

I am not sure if that is good enough for you, but you wouldn't be using any phishing website you follow what they say, and not what we say. There could be some situation where there could be someone here that would be trying to do phishing to people, which would be scary to think, so just focus on what they share officially  and you would be fine.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba dump coming? on: April 16, 2022, 07:03:48 PM
YES! People need to realize that Shiba is not a long term project and it's hyped because of a meme and can't be going for too long. I mean sure it is a good thing that we have it right now and people made some money and congrats to everyone who did.

But, it is not a long term thing because it has absolutely no decent return at all and nothing that could promise people a good future. It’s.. this, that’s it, we have it, they are saying they will build some things but those things will not make it any better. So, shiba is a useless memecoin that got high because of how people like to buy into memes and that’s it, it will go down when the hype dies down.
397  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. life expectancy falls for 2nd year in a row on: April 16, 2022, 06:33:08 PM
The Americans eat lots of junk food and don't they don't have a healthy lifestyle.
USA has the most obese nation in the world.
The US healthcare system is shit. Many poor people don't have any access to healthcare in the USA.
Many people in the USA refused to get vaccinated and to wear masks during the pandemic.
What else would you expect from all these factors?
Bitcoin/crypto has nothing to do with the US healthcare system and the people's lifestyle.
There's no way Bitcoin could help for increasing the life expectancy in the USA or anywhere else in the world.
Even after factoring in COVID deaths, large portion of the life expectancy dip is because of drug usage and overdoses. Plenty of other developed nations have issues with obesity, although Americans might be in a league of their own. One could argue that Bitcoin would give financial freedom to those that are lower class, and the correlation between obesity and income is well established. Same with most drug users.
I am pretty sure that rich people use drugs as well, they just know how to balance it out most of the time, at least not as commonly as the poor person whereas a poor person could just take too much meth to ease the pain of being inevitably poor for life and then die.

This is why I believe that drug is a problem for all, rich just have a better solution to it, but it is everyone’s problem. What we need to reconsider however is the fact that obesity is something that could be solved, but not worked on at all. Like we see cigarette boxes with crosses on it saying it is dangerous, but we don't see McDonalds with the same even though McDonalds kills a lot more people, not even remotely close levels.
398  Economy / Economics / Re: Paying for russian gas usdt or usdc on: April 16, 2022, 03:40:21 PM
Wait, did Putin change his mind again when it comes to currencies? Before, btc then ruble and then this, stable coins. There are many exchanges available online and most of them are good enough and I don't think they restrict Russian users including Putin so it's still possible for them to trade their btc there if ever they will use btc but keeping some stable coins is not a bad idea.

Good volatility means, its price can go up and down more often but stable coins are supposed to be stable so no volatility is going to be felt with them. They won't hold stable coins forever but time will come that they will convert it and they will still use an exchange to be able to do that.
399  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Game on: April 16, 2022, 01:28:30 PM
The only solution is never records or takes note of your losses that will make you always stay playing especially if you're winning, I always hear from some of my friends whenever they are winning that it's their opportunity to recover their losses that's a bad motivation to continue playing the truth is you will never recover your losses when you're trying, if you're winning always think of quitting and just come back later after you enjoy your winning, you can't recover all your losses in one sitting, it's not realistic and you have to be very lucky to do that.
If you take note of your losses and you will see that it was already huge, that will in fact stop you from gambling because you will think that the losses will just add up but I don't know maybe to some, seeing their losses motivates them to play more because they are thinking of revenge.

I think it's okay to have a mindset like this but as long as you are still in control of your self, I mean you won't feel really bad and do unwanted things thinking that your losses are huge enough if ever you fail of your plans of recovering your money. Your friends are right actually, sometimes that is also on my mind when I win. I can see that I have more in my balance so I don't mind losing some of them.
400  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Losing in trading needs questioning on: April 16, 2022, 08:41:55 AM
Frequently asking questions and looking for lessons from losing is a good thing for anyone, in trading there are many things to learn and if we never want to hear advice from experts and rely on instinct then we will often make the same mistakes or lose, keep trying and not be afraid losers are the type of traders who will be successful in the future.
There is never a stop in learning when trading, that is the important part that we need to realize, if you are doing something that is just ignorant and keep on trading even while you are losing then you are not going to be able to make a profit. However if you lose, and then go back and see where you did wrong and how could you avoid to make the same mistake again then you are going to be making a good profit out of it for sure.

This is how I approach crypto, by basically doing something that would be making a good profit for myself by checking the losses and learning what type of mistake I did, mostly it is a miscalculation so it is tough to fix that, but at least I know the reason.
