381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: January 21, 2024, 08:49:31 AM
This is a huge success, although I doubt that the player came to this purposefully. I also doubt that man will be able to repeat this success. His best bet would be to stop playing after this win or switch to a more conservative strategy. But we understand that this will not happen. Does anyone believe that the person will be able to keep this winnings? Most likely, this player will continue to bet on games with high odds and low chances of winning and will lose that money. This is a common story that happens to players. In the short term, many of us will have winnings, this is normal. But the paradox is that it is short-term gains that can lead to long-term loss of most of your capital.

you have a point here, winning a huge amount is indeed a very lucky reward and it's rarely to happen, sometimes when you win big, it doesn't come anymore, it's like beginners luck so it's up to you how to manage your winnings.
Winning big but that will not make you come back gambling anymore then I guess that's the key to be rich or successful in gambling. However, you only called that luck and much better if you get lucky on lottery or parlay with huge payouts so you'll be satisfied with what you win. Even if sometimes we win big but we aren't satisfied still, we will still lose because they (casino) have the edge and we all lose in the long run.

If you're smart enough, you'll become rich, but if you want to continue gambling, possible that the money you've won will run out little by little.

it's another thing, if we talk about being "smart" in gambling, that means you don't focus on games that you not skilled based, being smart is making your skills work for you until you become consistently winning in gambling which I think only few can.

Sometimes Anthony Edwards plays very well and sometimes he makes simple mistakes like this. OKC deserved this game in the end.
Not a clutch player. I know he is not a good FT shooter, but missing all 3 (last 1 intentional) FT when it is needed most to tie the game is not a good sign of a great player. He said Jordan can't guard him, lol. he can't even shoot FT.

Anthony Edwards says Michael Jordan wouldn't be able to guard him

But I don't see a foul on his last shot though, it even barely hit his hand. They were given a chance but still fail.

Should we not talk about SGA? He doesn't seem to get the attention he needs. He took the Oklahoma City Thunder to the top of the West. When you look at the roster, you can't imagine the Thunder here. They really have a different chemistry. There's no one player that comes to mind as a superstar, but when they come together they play really well. It's the first time they are this good since the days of Durant, Westbrook, Harden.

He is an underrated player, you know when OKC will win, and that is when SGA is ballin. First half stat, he already made 19 points but struggled a bit in the 3rd due to the defense of the Timberwolves, size wise, Wolves have the edge. But in the 4th quarter, when SGA was well rested, he lead his team to mount a comeback from a double digit deficit, and that's when the momentum was shifted to the OKC.
383  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 20, 2024, 09:59:50 PM
Trading alone is considered gambling for those who are not good in trading. While it offers higher profitability, but we all know that it could shift into higher losses if one decides to trade without proper knowledge and skills.

Most particularly for futures trading where the risk of losing is high, that could mean real gambling if you do futures trading even without mastery or expertise in trading. I'd rather go for spot trading where possible profits are mostly seen, but for futures trading, it could mean a high risk gambling for every regular trader that is not well-experienced enough in the field of trading.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 20, 2024, 04:38:38 AM
So far, I also going to put Crawford at the top and next is Inoue as he again unifies all the belts from his current division.

If Inoue goes up in weight and will become an undisputed champion again, then we can expect that he'll replace Crawford in the ranking. Inoue probably has more achievements as a champion but maybe Crawford is more deserving since he has fought more dangerous fighter than Inoue.
That can be done by Inoue since he is very dominant. I don't even get why he still chooses to stay at super bantamweight despite getting all the belts already. Maybe he isn't ready yet? If the answer is yes, then we can't compare him to Pacman, or would replace Crawford in the list if he'll stay at his comfort zone.

By the way, what happen to a possible Crawford vs Canelo fight? I think that one died down already.

it's hard to make a debate on who is the number 1 or not because as a fan we are too bias, so let's just based the ranking on the publishers report and we can all agree with it. After this fight with Nery which I'm sure Inoue will be victorious, maybe moving up should be next, forget about other challengers lining up, Inoue has to chase making a history again.

They have basis on their ranking and most of us aren't aware of that basis, so let's respect their own ranking. If we argue and we have our own, there's no problem with that, but how reputable  we are so people would believe on us?
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 20, 2024, 04:00:51 AM
Once again Boston showed that they can't play at the end of games, this time at home. The 27-game winning streak at home is over. Tatum had the shot to send the game to overtime, but he was in a hurry and took an early off-balance attempt without the right positioning. Denver played like champions, showing that the playoffs and the finals will be very difficult. The duo of Murray and Jokic played very well. Boston missed too many three-pointers except for the first quarter, if they shot with a little higher percentage they could've won the game.
That's why Denver were the champion last season. Boston needs to learn how to close a game with a win, last time, they almost give up their losing streak, good thing the game went to OT and they won the game, that was against the Timberwolves. This time around, it's finally over, and with that I'm happy that I decided to bet not only for them to win but with the handicap as well, to make it sure, so 2 wins for me.

Quote
It's not that important to lose a regular season game but they have to be careful, this is a preview of a possible finals match-up.
Possible but there's never a sure thing in the East, we should not forget how the Miami Heat made them cry.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 20, 2024, 01:45:14 AM
Regardless though, I still could not discount the capability of the Nuggets winning on the road and could possibly hand the Celtics their first loss. They are now +6 (I think this line did not move) but I'll take a higher risk, and will be betting on the moneyline.

Not looking good for the Nuggets now, but not too bad either as they are only down 5 points at the half. Come on guys, we need a good run in the 2nd half, or you could just make it close so that handicap will hit.  Smiley

It's a battle of big man for these teams.

KP - 19 PTS and 6 rebounds
Jokic - 19 PTS and 7 rebounds.
387  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial education and why it should be a priority. on: January 19, 2024, 10:57:33 PM
It’s not just schools that are responsible to teach us  financial education but it should also start at home. By saving small amount at a young age, we are already train on how to manage our finances so that we can be more responsible in managing our finances when we grow mature individually. Schools and home are responsible to teach us financial education, and harness our skills when we are already building our own source of income.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 19, 2024, 01:24:41 PM
1- Denver +6.

Boston is 20-0 at home but 13-7 ATS only at home. I believe 6 points is too high for Boston to be giving up to the defending champion. I checked the injury report on Nuggets, Gordon is listed probably "heel", so I expect him to play.

I'm interested on this pick. I don't know if it's a trap but it looks like a trap.  Smiley

Regardless though, I still could not discount the capability of the Nuggets winning on the road and could possibly hand the Celtics their first loss. They are now +6 (I think this line did not move) but I'll take a higher risk, and will be betting on the moneyline.
389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Casimero (possible fight in 2024) Let's discuss! on: January 19, 2024, 12:59:46 PM
That only shows how desperate Casimero is. Trash talks and showing arrogance is most of the time spice things up between two fighters as well as the fans, but this one for Casimero, he's starting to sound so annoying and desperate. He had his chance but he definitely blew it. Now, he's desperately chasing for the spotlight. However, Casimero's performance looks like it's deteriorating based on his last couple of fights. Comparing the 2 currently, Inoue is way too superior against Casimero.
Even before when he was still a champion he already starting trash-talking Inoue, so there's nothing new here. The only problem of Casimero is his ranking and that reflects the quality of wins he hand in his previous fight, maybe more fights for him to polish his standing and who knows, he might become a mandatory challenger while Inoue has not decided to leave the division yet.

For doing that he already caught the attention of Inoue but the problem with Casimero is he doesn't have anything to bet so Inoue's camp will get an interest to make their fight to happen. But they can't get anything from him that's why its really bad that we can't see their fight to happen. Plus the bad performance shown by Casimero on his last fight contribute for Inoue's camp for not letting that fight to happen since many people see how bad really it is so its expect now that Casimero is now out of their track.

This is the 5 target fights that Inoue camps target to happen https://www.sportingnews.com/us/boxing/news/naoya-inoue-next-fight-five-opponents-tank-lomachenko/4b45fb202606041d1e5b15ee and to bad no Casimero's name mentioned there.

Inoue doesn't have to play with the ranking if he wants to fight Casimero. Instead, he should look at the revenue side because this supposed fight has been hype for years which I think people would watch it even if the tickets are expensive.

If Inoue would say no, he can do that as there are fighters in line before Casimero, but if he wants to challenge himself, maybe he should get into the ring with Casimero so the rumors and speculation will be over as soon as he KO him.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 19, 2024, 08:14:57 AM
They have a good experienced guard in Dennis, and he should be used and play more time.

No question about his capability, he really is a good guard, his team won the FIBA world cup, right? However, even if Dennis is good, he can also be a liability if their opponnents will design a play to attack him since he is a small point guard, so Raptors also need to look at that, I see Dennis as Trae young who is a liability in the defensive end.

Raptors now ranked number 12, so I think every game is important for them to at least qualify for the play-in tournament. However, missing Siakam might be a big problem for them and it started to show their real capability as a team.
391  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I become a professional trader? on: January 18, 2024, 09:50:21 PM
Everyone is entitled to become a professional trader, but that will also depend on how much effort you have put in your trading journey. While training can motivate yourself to be a good and professional trader someday, but I say learning trading even with small funds in the crypto market is a good starting experience, trading on an amount that you find comfortable to lose.

It's not actually hard to learn trading when you are willing to experience a lot in the trading market. Of course, losses are there, as you wouldn't be good enough if you never experience frequent losses and mistakes at first.
392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 18, 2024, 10:59:35 AM
Winner: Toronto Raptors
Quote
Also, It’s a win in the big picture because the Raptors have picked and committed to a direction for the franchise, rebuilding around Scottie Barnes, something they needed to do.

Can this be because the coach of Raptors talk about Barnes being the face of the league? He talk about it during postgame interview on their loss to the LA Lakers where he was complaining about the foul called in the 4th quarter that he think obviously favor the Lakers.

So if Barnes is going to be the main star player of the Raptors, that's quite interesting because he isn't really score a lot, like this season he only averated 20PPG, without Siakam, can that improve?

What type of virtual wallet do you use? And what are the best ways for me to keep my cryptocurrencies safe?
I'm using different virtual wallet but I find electrum the best wallet for me due to its simplicity. To ensure that your wallet will not be hack, avoid downloading applications from unknown sources,or might as well don't download at all. Depending on how important the bitcoin in your wallet, but it's suggested that you have a dedicated PC for your stuff, since it's online, you might forget that were able click a phishing link or anything that could steal your password, or could monitor your PC, avoid that as much as possible.

397  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New Trends Among Beginner Traders on: January 10, 2024, 09:07:35 PM
I don't know how it was done many years in the past when learning trading, so I will wait to read the comments of traders with many years of experience.

I've noticed that on my WhatsApp, Telegram, Twitter, and basically all social media websites, there are so many beginner traders with no real live trading experience who should stop giving trading tips to other people rather they just put it out there for whoever cares to listen to them.

I keep asking myself, are these kids doing it wrong? The beginning phase of the trading journey is a time for learning and not talking or trying to show off. These new kids should be quiet and focused on building equity, and other best trading practices that would make them successful traders rather than trying to act cool and successful when they haven't ever made a dollar other than in a demo.

I have engaged with a couple of them in trading conversations, and they beat around the bush, replying with generic responses without any real experience.

Has anyone else here noticed this too?"

Personally I know there are lots of people out there without much experience and good trading skills but yet they still give advices and lectures, as for me instead of listening to someone who is not well informed and lack good understanding of the market, I would rather go for copy trading so that I can make my cool profit. There are lots of people who make good profit through copy trading from exchange like Bitget.
Copy trading is good if you are actually copying from a professional and successful trader. But if you turn out copying from a fake trader, that will only lose your funds all of a sudden. So my point is learn to trade instead by studying the basics in trading on your own. Eventually, you will gain various experiences in trading, mostly losing for a beginner, but after series of losses I know you will gradually develop your own skills and strategies to make your trades work, and maximize your profit making.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold than trade. Just don't use leverage, futures. on: January 10, 2024, 08:34:43 PM
Even without the recent fake news Tweet, bitcoin/crypto has *expectedly* been extra volatile lately. Yesterday we literally just had a scam wick down to $45,700, then immediately bounced back up.

When in shaky situations like this, using leverage(or at least high leverage), seems like suicide.
It’s always safer to hold most especially when bitcoin price seems very unstable. While using leverage can easily increase the profits, but having this kind of strategy is absolutely not a smart move particularly for beginners. But then again, it’s up for an individual hodler how to balance his investment, but not putting it being compromised. With or without fake news, bitcoin has always been volatile, so always be cautious with your bitcoin investment.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: January 10, 2024, 08:25:24 AM

What I know to be successful is you should do the follow ;

1- manage your bankroll properly, and start with a decent bankroll, you aren't playing, you are investing for your future.
2- be discipline all the time.
3-master the game you are playing in sports, at least focus on one league so it's easy for you to master it.

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but your no 1 makes it sound as if you’re treating gambling purely as a means to earn money purely – having that mindset is not always good.

If you don't treat gambling like an investment, then that would not answer the topic which is " Long-term profitable strategies". You play for fun, best you can get is short term profit because you will not put your craft in gambling, meaning you aren't serious with it.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: January 10, 2024, 07:01:05 AM
This will be a boring fight because it will be again in Tokyo and the opponent is not very exciting for the fans. However, this might be a good chance for John Riel Casimero to challenge and win against someone who will make him a contender to challenge Inoue for his WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF championships. I reckon with Casimero's personality, if he fights Inoue it should certainly be in Las Vegas.
It looks like he just wants boring opponents tbh. Everyone wants that Inoue-Casimero fight but I think Inoue management doesn't want that at all or both couldn't have a better consensus. For sure they'll wreck PPV for this fight to happen but they just couldn't make this a reality, what a waste.
Nery is not a boring fighter. Looking at his record , you can see that he has 27 wins from 35 fights, and that's a lot of experience with a 77% KO rate. It will only be boring if this will be one sided beat down again, and as what we had witness in the past, Inoue always dominates his opponent, so let's see if Nery is different.

About Casimero, he is not the number 1 challenger yet, but maybe he'll next in line, if Inoue really intend to give him a chance.
