383  Other / Meta / Another ICO "EBC" spamming Project Development board on: December 09, 2017, 06:14:48 AM
The ico ebc has started several topics in the project development board. Instead of replying to a single thread they just make new thread for each new announcement.
Here is the list of those threads :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2548242.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2548712.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2548433.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2533731.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2517598.0

The two accounts that are continuously spamming are :
routmania : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1398595
EBCoin :     https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1366432

I request the forum moderators to ban these accounts.
384  Other / Meta / Re: Notification problem ?? on: December 08, 2017, 07:37:46 PM
I think the reason to not receiving notifications for all the new threads may be is that you are not much active on the Announcements (Altcoins) sub-board, meaning that you did not browse through this board recently.

The notification emails clearly state this :
More topics may be posted, but you won't receive more email notifications until you return to the board and read some of them.
385  Other / Meta / If you recovered your hacked account then remember to check account settings ... on: December 08, 2017, 06:54:25 PM
My account was hacked a few months ago, and thanks to Cyrus I got it back in a few days only.
Today I came to a shocking discovery that the hacker had added all the users to my pm's ignore list and also disabled pm email notifications, and so no one was able to reply to my pm's.
That's how I got to know of PM ignore list.
Its located at : Profile >Personal Message Options > IgnoreList

On a final note, you must check all account related settings after recovering back your account.

388  Other / Meta / Ringcoin ICO spamming Altcoin Announcement board on: December 08, 2017, 07:13:21 AM
The user RING-COIN1 has made 11 different topics in the Altcoins Announcement board to promote their ICO. You can see their post history here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=1325113;sa=showPosts
Instead of replying to previous threads, they always create a new one. Moderators, give them a warning, or do something you feel right.

Edit: Seems like Moderators have deleted extra posts, thanks !
389  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Can You Buy with Bitcoin? on: December 08, 2017, 06:23:50 AM
Currently there are very few physical stores where you can spend bitcoins and that too varies from place to place.
You can buy t-shirts online, microsoft xbox accepts bitcoin too, etc. You can visit "Marketplace" section of the forum to know more about what people are selling for btc.
There are some indirect ways too to buy using bitcoins. You may use Bitcoin debit cards to pay at any online or physical shops where debit cards are accepted. Also there are many services where you can buy gift cards using https://www.gyft.com/bitcoin and spend them on popular stores, or use purse.io to buy items off amazon while getting extra discount for using bitcoin.

392  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BOUNTY stacks: what is it? on: December 08, 2017, 04:28:44 AM
Ideally, your post should have belonged to "Beginners and Help" Section because you are asking for help.
Nevertheless, I would answer your question.
Actually it is "STAKES" not stacks.
A bounty campaign assigns certain amount of coins, say 1000, for total payment to its participants.
Participants are allotted with stakes after doing their work. Say if you get 10 stakes, participant B got 20, and so on....
So total stakes allotted in this example be 500.
So, the final amount of coins you would receive would be = (10/500)*1000 = 20.
393  Other / Meta / Re: My original account was hacked on: December 07, 2017, 06:30:35 PM
I was hoping one of the mods can contact me. My original account here was hacked. It is a hero member. I haven't used a ton lately but becoming more active again. I see someone is running a banner add on it. Please send me a pm so we can discuss getting it back. Thank you

Sorry I dont see a place to send mod's a question so making a new topic

Not sure if it will help look at this message, bottom right. There is a tab "report to moderator" maybe try that.

It is worth a try.
The "report to moderator" button is not used to message moderators about such issues; It is only used to report spam posts on the forum. For account recovery, you must send a pm to Cyrus who would help you recover your account. You must provide a signed message from your old address if you stacked it earlier.
Follow these detailed steps to recover your account : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0
394  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cryptopay.me is Scam with Proof on: December 06, 2017, 05:46:13 PM
So, according to your video, cryptopay.me justs changes the third digit of the bitcoin address to withdraw into their own accounts ?
But, the new address so formed would not be a valid bitcoin address, hence it would not be able to send bitcoins to that address !
I don't know the correct reason what it could be caused by, but maybe its related to your system ?
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to access my Bitcoin Cash BCH on: December 06, 2017, 05:22:57 PM
Why would it not work? Have you tried it yet? Private keys are ALL derivated in the same way, so it wouldn't matter if it is created in a wallet X 10 years ago, or in wallet Y 10 minutes ago.

Do make sure you're using the right electron cash, and that you're not running a scam wallet, (check the signatures of your download etc.) Otherwise all of your bitcoin cash AND bitcoin might be lost.
Thanks AdolfinWolf. No, I have not tried it yet. I made some stupid mistakes in the past and almost lost my bitcoin. That is why I want to make sure I don't make a similar mistake again.
The keys were generated with Multibit long ago. When I recently entered the keys into Electrum it gave me the message: Warning, imported keys can not be recovered using the seed!  That gave me the idea that the keys must be generated by, and somehow connected to, Multibit. And when I would enter the seed into Electron Cash, it would not see the imported keys. Does my reasoning make sense?

I could simply try it, if you think nothing bad will happen. I hope you understand why I am being very careful here, I got my bitcoin back and don' t want to jeopardise that again. Wink Is Electron Cash dedicated to Bitcoin Cash only? Can it in no way interfere with my bitcoin BTC?
If the seed was generated in MultiBit, then you need to import your BTC wallet using the seed in MultiBit. There you would get a list of all your addresses. You may then copy the Private keys of all the addresses with balances and use Electron Cash to import in a new wallet to claim your BCH.

If the developers of electron cash have malicious intent then they may get your btc from your private keys because it is NOT the official wallet by Electrum !
So I recommend you to transfer your btc to a new address, just to be on a safer side.
396  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is bitcoin core on: December 06, 2017, 05:10:05 PM
i'm new to here ..i want to know what is the bitcoin core and do we need to download all of it ?
Bitcoin Core may be said as the official wallet for bitcoin. But to use it one should download the the entire blockchain on their systems which requires quite a few Gb's of space so might not be feasible for all. Instead you can use other wallets like Electrum, Multibit, etc. that are light on storage and serve all the same features.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to access my Bitcoin Cash BCH on: December 06, 2017, 05:01:57 PM
To securely get your BCash, I recommend you to follow this:
1. Create a new BTC Wallet, let's name it {B}.
2. Transfer all your bitcoins from your current btc wallet (let's name it [A]) to the newly generated btc wallet {B} (so that nothing goes wrong). (Only the bitcoins associated would transfer, the BCH would remain there.)
3. Install Electron cash, preferably on pc other than your primary pc with btc electrum wallet.
4. Use your seed from [A] in electron cash. The wallet should show your BCH.
5. You can send the BCH to an exchange from electron cash and get BTC in your new Wallet {B} instead.
398  Other / Meta / Re: How do you upload a photo on bitcointalk.org???? on: December 06, 2017, 04:25:53 PM
Images still appear as a hyper link when I try to post them with IMG tags, here is a demo:

https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2013/12/08/12/12/bitcoin-225080_1280.png

I read that it might have relation with activity number, what's the minimum required to be able to post photos?

Because you are not a Jr. Member or a Copper Member. You may wait for your activity to reach 30 so that you become a jr. member or pay a small fee to become a copper member and be able to post the images.

Hello, please tell me how can I put an avatar to my profile bitkointolk? I can't find where this can be done in advance thanks))

You must read the sticky threads or just google before asking the questions that have already been answered millions of times.
To add an avatar you must atleast be a Full Member.
399  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Taxes on bitcoin? on: December 06, 2017, 04:21:40 PM
Bitcoin is not yet recognised as a legal currency in most countries, so you don't have to pay taxes if you receive bitcoins. However, whenever there is fiat involved, say you sold your btc to usd, bitcoin being an asset, then you need to pay taxes on the profits made.
Also, it varies country by country so you may need to consult your countries laws for 100% surety.
400  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: December 06, 2017, 04:11:43 PM
is there any way we can sign in message on coins.ph?
No. You don't own any of your Coins.ph addresses. And that's why you don't use a web/hosted wallet.
oh i get it now sir, i guess we need a hard wallet to sign in/verify message is that what you mean right?
No, he meant that if you use coins.ph, it means that your keys are stored by third party so technically, you Don't own those coins.
Instead on depending and trusting a third party, you must setup your own wallet. It can be bitcoin core or electrum, which provides you with private keys.
You can use them to sign messages.
