Dude, bitcoin is not a charity, the protocol doesn't exist to help 'the poor', this is a technical issue and should be treated as such and solved amongst the experts, which are the Bitcoin Core developers.
^ mindsets like this is where you give over your free will to dictators because you "trust" them purely because they MIGHT be better than a sheep. its not about 'helping the poor' its about not letting certain cartel from restricting/ignoring/avoiding and prohibiting the poor from using it I tried, but I could not have said it better. The classical issue is that there are billions of sheeps, millions of wolfes and just a few Gandalfs for protection. But the biggest shit you can think of is, having a wolf sitting at the entrance core door of the safe home where all sheeps have to pass by...

Maybe YOU guys don't need it, because YOU are rich compared to the poor billions living mostly in Asia.
They just cannot affort the tx fees.
SW will not help, at least not in a sudden and not really much.
2x will help quickly, but only if done quickly...eh?
So what the hack is your advice for the poor?
Pls not: use other scamcoins...
They take it in their own hands
So you see, not allowing on-chain scaling is really selfish and driven by some rich 'users'....eh?
Dude, bitcoin is not a charity, the protocol doesn't exist to help 'the poor', this is a technical issue and should be treated as such and solved amongst the experts, which are the Bitcoin Core developers. Bitcoin is the world electronic internet of cash and about to be used by anybody, including the poor and the tech is there to do it right now! So tell me a decent reason why it is protected by stupidity or agendas?

War? lol.
Such drama. I could not be happier with a process that is resolving on a solution that is a true consensus. This is exactly what is logical. Any change should be nearly impossible to implement. Only when it is in everyones interest does a change happen. Scaling is an issue that concerns us all, these BIPs are solutions everyone can live with. It's working!
Your view is mostly correct. But what is when someone is bottlenecking these BIPS? It's not war, it's just an attempt organized by bitcoin haters who are dreaming about having a seperate bitcoin where they have full control on it. Agreed! This is a vain attempt by bitcoin detesters to destroy the reputation of bitcoins. These are those devils who want to rule the world. They hate the decentralized nature of bitcoins. But I strongly believe in bitcoins. No matter how hard these devils try to ruin bitcoins, they will end up badly disappointed. We all should keep supporting bitcoins in order to enjoy real freedom. Any reasonable suggestions to exatcly reach and implement that freadom for real?

i am going to give the same answer i gave to that throwaway account: did you even read the topic! i doubt it. and just FYI, i live in a third world country and compared to those imaginary Asians in your head is much poorer Sure, I did not say that there are not poorer regions. I only say big number count. Asia has the biggest junk of poor people on earth. No wonder that this is created there as a REACTION to rich-men shitty BScore politics full of hidden agendas and patents. Eh?

|
|
|
Network total: 6 202 240 Thash/s
This is - if you run only ANTMINER S9 with about 13Thash/s
477 100 Miners cost at about 1500$ each
715 650 000 $
This is the floor value of the race teams in total / the hard ware investments of miners (sure it's way higher since the S9 is one of the most efficient miner today)
Why is anybody non mining but thinking he could 'serve' this pools stable with a rasp pi still ?
Why is anybody non mining but thinking he could tell miners what software to install ?
Why is anybody non mining but thinking he is a user of all that not just a consumer / side line watcher ?

BTC-e hat also MtGox gehackt. Nicht schlecht....
Irgendwie ja fast naheliegend da sie a.) das Know-How mitbringen in dem Bereich und b.) perfekt alle Coins abverkaufen können.
Absolut.

Coole Antwort. Gefällt mir. Ich würde sagen der Markt entscheidet. we'll see. Was kostet das? -> Sicherheit !!

i just want to add two things. 1. i agree with your points but they should not be confused with what some are currently doing to take over bitcoin. with threats, with their money or hashpower.
2. it is not like bitcoin is being developer behind closed doors and closed source. you can always contribute to the existing code on existing repository. as many others are doing on github and through proper channels. you don't need to make a new repo for it and develop separately.
Just a very logic aspect: If your point 2. was fully true, why all the effort with others solution ? This is too costly to do just for fun. Thing is, many will argue against that there was too much 'ignore' on the on-chain scaling input there from very few people. I see this point and this needs to be opened up very neutral - again Jeff I see as a good mate - same issues have been solved in Linux same good manner.

In any case, there will eventually be a node that will win and then Bitcoin will become a centralized network.
This makes no sense. Anyone can run a node. Shit, this was not meant to create another bitcoin BCC thingy....
True. Your thread may be overrun with generic comments about Bitcoin Cash soon.
I agree with your point, to some extent. Bitcoin is a permissionless system, and it's important to recognise that Bitcoin Core does not have infinite power, nor should it have. I do think that people sometimes misunderstanding how consensus works by smearing any proposals not approved by Bitcoin Core as an "attack" on BTC. Meuh6879 created a nonsensical thread here, which neglected to mention that BIP 91 would not cause a chain split straight away and compared it to a mining pool having >51% of the hashrate. However, the development team's reputation is extremely important in deciding whether to support a proposal, considering that we're dealing with a >$40,000,000,000 network here. Thx - on of your best postings ever I try to comment only on you last point - I do not want this single dev team to be fully in charge (off all points see down) - this is too much pressure and too much a single point of failure! They have just too much duties and given too much power for that big number business we reached now. In any other big business you have way better distributed teams for all that: - Running the system ( BCM !) - Support (different for 1- 4 levels) - Bug Fixing - Requirements / Project Management - Scientific / Economic Proof - Collect Wisdom and what users need - Dev / Code Review / Unit-Tests / Refactoring / Clean Code - UAT Testing / Integration Testing - Change Management - Build Process & Deployment - Review, Lessons Learned & Decision Making ...... This is big shit of responsibility & work!! - And given the 'friendly' atmosphere + the pressure does not really help to provide sustainable solutions - only by sheer hack (SW) & luck! I understand miners - sorry Friendly competition is what helps - Hope Jeff keeps it up

Whoever would think of trading or mining BCC, besides the intial dump which we ll all do, directly undermines crypot economy and all future profits we might all have from crypto. Why? If BCC does take roots, who says they wont fork everytime they d like to make more money on unsuspecting noobs. In my book, BCC does not exist beyond the initial dump which I ll do the moment I get those coins Well, I quite like the way you put it This is what I'm telling myself most Bitcoin holders will do as soon as this Bitcoin China Coin actually hits the markets after August the first. And this is what a dumping war would mean in practice, though it seems like it is not going to last long anyway, and the ViaBTC coin will get torn to pieces in less than half a jiffy. Their only chance and hope is a severe bug in the SegWit code which would render Bitcoin unusable at least for some time, or a concerted attack by the cartel against regular Bitcoin somewhere around that date (i.e. early August) Hu ? How can that be ? 'SW was tested now for that long !?' 'We expect the bug to sit in the 2x ! '

You think what s the best for you as crypto holders.
On a rational base I would say exactly the same. Big issue: Humans are NOT rational. And we do not know hidden agendas (Chinese , PBoC, Asia at all - no clue !) And there is dynamics making all more complex. We need to see how that plays out.

darum HODL!
