Well, if they are android phones, that just gives them a free way to run a bitcoin app. Even though the phone will be free, I'll bet that the transaction fees won't be waived for WU payments. So now that they have a phone, load it up with bitcoin and start trading with close to zero fees. Win!

I admire your failover plan from an enterprise perspective as being proactive and thinking ahead, but from a miner's perspective, how the hell are you going to pay them off?

Thank you for posting, will email them to figure out why the hell they're trying to block my domain name without any contact/notification. I can say quite definitively that there is nothing on the site that should have caused them to block this.
UPDATE: Sent an email and called their phone lines to try to get the issue moved forward faster.
I'm not less sure what is going on. The screenshot above from from my work computer (we use OpenDNS for our company to also block things like gaming and streaming sites). But I also use OpenDNS at home, and it is not blocked there nor does it appear in their "check a domain" tool. So maybe this is something else that is specific to my company that is just designed to look like an OpenDNS blocking method? Or maybe OpenDNS offers different blocking rules to enterprises than to home users. Anyway, this may or may not be a false alarm. Sorry if it was. I checked when you first posted and it wasn't blocked on OpenDNS here, although I don't use an enterprisey version. There are a number of settings that might affect it within the interface though.

all someone needs to do is know the URL of the instawallet and punch it up in a browser and empty it. she admitted that must be how it happened and she's in the right spirit. I think she'll get over it... lesson learned. Just sent twice the amount to her seconds address. Let's hope that one is safer. If she is "getting into it", I would say the Instawallet should only be used for those that aren't "getting into it" and she should get an actual client. Perhaps Electrum or Bitcoin Spinner for android.

however, the world relies on the US Empire's military power (we have 99% of it)
89% of statistics are made up on the spot emitted directly from the statistician's ass. What he's trying to say is the USA holds the balance of power. But also not a number, like 99% or w/e. Hehe, no shit. But saying the US has 99% of it is just funny.

So I have this fantastic utility room with lots of space, great ventilation, and a big ole 220 volt outlet.
I would like to set-up some miners in this room, but I want it to fit in seemlessly with my wife's lovely (and massive) front loading spaceship looking washer and dryer.
Anyone have some experience splitting the power outlet so multiple appliances can be hooked up? I really dont want to have to switch back and forth everytime we have to do laundry.
It would be great to run the miners off of the same outlet without doing too much re-modelling!
Any advice would be great.
LOL, switch back and forth... Do you know how much power that dryer uses? You might be able to run maybe 1 card with it running. I have the insanely efficient stuff.....the dryer might use 1800 watts, 2000 at most. I believe the 220V is on a 40 AMP breaker, so shouldn't there be PLENTY of headroom for some miners? There might be - but Code requires a dedicated circuit for a reason. See if you can find the nameplate rating of the device, just to be sure of the wattage. Most dryers use a capacitor-start motor that runs at a constant speed - such motors make all kind of nasty electrical anomalies when they start, not to mention a large additional power draw. The motor might take up to 400% of its rating during the few seconds that it is starting, and that would trip the breaker if you removed the additional overhead allowance that is already built into the circuit by running some rigs on it. Now obviously, the motor isn't the main load - the main load is the resistive heater inside, which switches on and off to maintain different temperatures. If we assumed that a 40 amp 220v circuit could supply approximately 7KW of power (after derating), and if we assumed that the dryer was 2KW like you mentioned, you should also assume spikes of up to 3KW during the motor start phase for a few seconds. This leaves you with potentially 4KW of "spare" power. You might be able to open the power outlet and add some #8 wire to extend the branch circuit to another plug. However if you do this, you really need to get a PDU with its own circuit breakers built in, otherwise you risk fire from under-rated wiring. I wouldn't want to suggest more than 20 amps of 220v coming off of the PDU in this case, since it isn't dedicated. Finally, if you do this, make sure you have absolutely top-shelf PSUs. Since they will be so electrically close to the nasty power spikes caused by the motor starting, they will be more susceptible to failure. 20 amps at 220v should allow you to run several rigs. Good luck, and don't let the inspector see it!

Interesting proposal. But it requires something central, and I don't see users running their own directory servers for this.

Thats fine. Contact any of those buyers and ask them. Go to his previous threads and see who bought from him. The same ones that bought from him, bought from me. The same exact ones. Ask them.
Can you please link me to some threads with the names of people who bought there your GCs? I didnt really searched long but for now i cannot find a single one... Name only those with a history in this board. Mate, its true people have bought from this guy, but it hasnt been long enough yet for any of them to realise via amazon they have been scammed. He only registered like a month ago... I know you are cagey about exactly which sites, but I believe it is correct that you get yours from advertising revenue on some "popular" websites. This is what I gathered months ago on IRC, and I have my doubts that newdude also does the same thing.

Don't forget to laminate that paper and stick it in a safe!

Probably because of the lag time. Thanks anyway Likely because of the share difficulty. To get around this, you would need to set up a proxy that provided diff 1 shares, but you would have to a) see if it would be allowed to be added (not sure how the approval process happens/works), and b) have a good enough server to handle between 400 and 800 gigahashes per second thrown at it.

Yes I know, that's why I was asking.
The answer is..... dun dun dun it doesn't work. Sorry.

Doesn't get much more legit than that. Nice ad for your cannons, I might have to order some.

Hmm didn't think of it like that. Fine I'll take 2 pounds for 4.6 BTC. (1.8 BTC per pound + 1 BTC shipping if I'm correct)
The exchange rate always screws people up.

Has anyone successfully set up P2Pool as a GPUmax backup?
P2Pool is not supported, see the first post.

just had a funny thought... eventually the dudes posting photos of their dicks on 4chan etc. are also going to want to get in on this, and a shortened address might be necessary for some.
Hahahahaha so true. LOL... just thought of this... (not trying to be mean or a jerk, but) how about put your money where your mouth is and automatically fund that satoshi when firstbits determines that it can't find an initial transaction with the requested bitcoin address?
wow, this could work... since you just got the bitcoin address from the user, you could fund the address and calculate what the first bits will be and tell them it will be ready in 10 minutes. DO IT! I LOVE IT!
This is a great idea.
