Anybody else just got a lot of 0.02 and 0.01 and 0.009 type of payments on their GPUMAX address I see purchases are enabled again so will the mining start ? Anyone getting public work ? What is the update with GPUMAX status ? If I have the private pool set on a pool that is down right now and if public work starts appearing will my cgminer automatically connect to get the public work going ( I have failover-only set to true ) ? Thanks ! Yeah I just got 4 payouts of varying amounts from GPUMAX, so they are probably getting back to operational status again now.

If you are serious about this why would you build it on the East coast? Build it in Washington state or Oregon where you have access to cheap hydro power. Just because you are located in Maine doesn't mean Maine is the ideal location for your startup.
Thinking about a 1M BTC funded startup is a fun thought exercise but I don't think the market could fund such a thing at this point. I hate to tell you to aim lower but, without sourcing traditional VC capital AND having a solid business plan, $5M USD is a SERIOUS sum of cash. You might have better luck in the $100k USD to $500k USD, prove the concept works and go for a second round of funding. This isn't like you are pitching a web startup in a VC environment with a proven track record of successful exits. Here, any VCs interested in funding a mining operation has a year or two of experience and no previous examples to judge future performance on..
By insisting on BTC for funding, it could very well pump the market up a lot, because then investors would have to invest in BTC in order to invest in this company. The eventual result would be a lot more than $5m, because of the projected market rise. There isn't any reason to cash out right away and build something, it could all be done gradually. Starting with an enclosure (building) and other infrastructure (power, cooling) would take a relatively small portion of the proceeds that needs to be paid in cash, but many other parts could even be bought for BTC instead of converting to USD. So as the funding comes in, the buildout could continue. If DiabloD3 doesn't raise all 1m BTC right away, that's fine too, the farm would just be smaller.

Doesn't sound so much like a "phobia" as it does a proper bit of research into the history as available. The article appears to lay out many logical conclusions, but I would have to read the book and all its sources before making a profound statement of my own.

Can they handle more than 5-6 GPU's? I heard that a Windows Cat/Forceware Driver cant handle more than 5 ore 6 GPU's, not sure.
I wonder if I should consolidate all the information into a new topic, since no one ever reads the posts in this one. Threads of this length become hard to parse and maintain interest through the entire thread. Especially with the last few pages consisting of the same "how will you run that many GPUs" without any progress on that front. Might be worth closing this thread, linking at the last post to a new thread with updates. I guess I'm probably taking it a bit more personally than I should, since this is my baby. But perhaps I will start a new thread when I get the new host board.

So please, if you have specific information that describes where Dwolla is delaying payments please share the details, otherwise you are spreading misleading information.

For the industrial motherboards with no fan directly above the board it would be possible to use every slot. That does need very good case fans then. Our solution in development will also allow every slot to be used.
Sweet. In my application, I need power density. Have you considered a design that will allow you to cram a larger number on a board? The reason I ask is because most boards with 2 Virtex 6 FPGAs are no more than $500, and having more of them on a board could lower the per-chip cost. rjk, they are spartan 6 not virtex, if I'm not wrong. spiccioli Sorry! That's what I meant. Edited post.

BAD BAD BAD! I got ripped 110$! All the emails I get back from them all say Dear Name,
Your order is not yet marked as paid; I'll forward this to my supervisor and he'll sort it out for you. 3 Emails from them...they all say the same thing. Anyone got any idea how i can get my money back? I sent it with Dwolla Dwolla sucks. They probably delayed your payment because it is Bitcoin related.

We are launching a sripped down version of the existing product Merrick6 http://enterpoint.co.uk/products/spartan-6-development-boards/merrick-6/. We are cutting down the number of FPGAs in the working array from 6 to 2 to allow more power for the 2 remaining FPGAs. The PCIe hosting interface FPGA a XC6SLX150T will also remain. This will means that one of our twin 12A regulators will power one XC6SLX150T plus one XC6SLX150. The other 1.2V regulator will power a single XC6SLX150 FPGA. This board is offered at $1,000 (plus tax if applicable) or equivalent in GBP or Euros. If there is enough demand we can also make a small design change to make Bitcoin special by retasking the 12A regulator, currently used for 1.5V, to being 1.2V. This would allow all 3 remaining FPGAs to have 12 Amps each. Our X2 XC6SLX150 Coprocessor module can also be offered in a similar fashion cut down from 2 FPGAs to one that has 10A supply all to itself. price for this offering is $280 (plus tax if applicable). Aw HELL YEAH maybe this would be the best thing to put in my rig (see signature). You need heatsinks of course, are you going to make them fit within a single slot?

Man all you guys moaning about the noise these things make... damn. I decided to make a video just for you: https://vimeo.com/41028028I accidentally set the thing down on something that was sticking up, and it got caught in the fan and broke the blades off. So I decided to give it some real cooling. lol, nice! Is that an 8000 rpm fan? What model is it? It's a Delta TSB series fan from an old server power supply. Probably about 5K RPM.

I think you ought to be able to do it. And it isn't as expensive and difficult as building a Tier 4 datacenter, since you need no power backup (except maybe generators) and little to no redundancy (except maybe on the internet connection).

i highly doubt bitvps wants their name destroyed over this. im sure rg will post here soon and this will be cleared up (assuming service is not restored).
thanks
Have you bothered to call him? Making threats isn't cool.

I just got the second half of my order. Thanks CANDIES! Just a few quick things: Can you get regular (not dark) chocolate oranges? I like dark, but some friends and family don't. Some of the items (Tootsie rolls, Skittles) were opened and some of the stuff removed in order to get the weight right. This is fine, but I would suggest that you stop selling by weight and start selling by standard quantities such as per bag/box/container/etc. Thanks again!

rjk, Meni ordered the singles and Inaba is hosting them - this is all mentioned in Meni's thread. What we don't know is how many, when they were ordered and when they were shipped (the important stuff) Whoops OK I had forgotten about that, just that the wording that was used was confusing.

Never let the lack of research get in the way of the facts.
But for those of you that like to spread all your information all over the internet, I suppose Skype is right for you.

IRC, have you heard of it?
As an avid and hardcore IRCer from childhood on, I can tell you that the overall experience pales in comparison. Skype doesn't require a constant connection, keeps logs and rejoins you later without losing momentum, allows for video and voice calls, etc. IRC is so 1990. (Skype is so 2000, but nothing better has come out yet so meh). Come on, man. Haven't you ever heard of a bouncer? Set up an IRC bouncer on a server or VPS with a stable connection, and it will feed you all unread logs whenever you reconnect to it, as well as other useful features. When you throw a good BNC into the mix with IRC, it blows the shit out of Skype so badly that you will never go back.
