41  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Looking for good fee estimation APIs on: January 27, 2024, 03:36:36 AM
Why do you need many APIs? Is this mempool.space fee estimation does not provide you with enough information about the fee?
Mempool.space is the only source that we always use when checking recommended fees other sources would not give you a good fee estimation compared to mempool.space

It works just fine for me I use this https://mempool.space/docs/api/rest#get-recommended-fees

Just adding this if you still looking for more fee recommendation API here https://api.blockchain.info/mempool/fees

My guess is redundancy.

If one api fails OP has others to fall back on and still run the average with decent accuracy or without throwing an error over a dumb cors violation or something unexpected.
42  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Do you think faucets are dying? on: January 27, 2024, 03:13:32 AM
They should do like fullfaucet games.
pop a 15 second ad up every 8-10 mins and split the ad revenue between the game owner and the users.

or something like candy crush , but every level you beat you get 5 satoshi.+ an ad.
or diablo. every hour you grind is a few satoshi or something.
I couldn't really get behind a paywall/click once an hour, gamble your sats away. don't get me wrong it's fun in moderation.
I stopped using faucets in 2019, I used to could work a small bag up if I was patient but the rewards got so small it wasn't worth it anymore.
I do enjoy provably fair lotteries. Smiley

Welcome to the forums, your project sounds intriguing however since your selling software your name might steer potential customers away.
44  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 23, 2024, 01:25:16 PM

What I don't understand is how does the phone number come into play?  How was the phone used rather than the normal email/password login method if 2fa was not enabled?  Did the "hacker" send a text to Elon and say "I forgot both my email and my password, please let me disseminate critically important trading info to the general public immediately"?
Odds are it was a spoof confirmation.
No, it was an old phone number used by their X account and had an account recovery done.

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/01/10/secs-compromised-account-was-not-due-to-breach-of-xs-systems-company-says.html

Somebody is getting fired because this had caused $90million undetermined lost due of being incompetent.
Why are they relying of announcements on a site such as twitter/X anyways to make it completely legitimate?
Shouldn't it be made on their official SEC government site?

Get that meme of woody and buzz "Idiots. Everywhere" ready.

45  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [V2] Big List of Crypto Debit Cards on: January 21, 2024, 05:03:25 PM
Hey would cashapp's card or crypto.coms card count?
I cant speak for crypto.com cards functionality but cashapp has ties to be able to spend bitcoin
You just sell it and it applies to your Fiat balance, Venmo has the function too.
Although cashapp's isn't technically a crypto card the banking feature for Bitcoin alone is decent.
It supports LN as well. 2% fee for exchanges. Benefits vary, if you get direct deposit the perks are actually good.
They used to have Bitcoin cashbacks too but I think they got rid of it (or disabled it on my account)
46  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] WasabiWallet.io Signature Campaign | Up to $120/W on: January 20, 2024, 10:00:25 PM
I understand that you are the campaign manager but since you can contact their staff, Could it be possible for you to tell the team at Wasabi get this “Kruw” loser out for good so he has no further association with Wasabi? He’s making the wallet look bad by being an idiot on the forums, saying leo’s death is “deserved” and mocking him. I understand that there is a team behind Wasabi and it sucks how this one retard is ruining their reputation and hard work.

It's members trying to throw him under the bus with wasabi.
I agree the guys a piece of work for sure , but I don't believe wasabi would ever claim him, and ico has already specifically stated he isn't in the team.

Scapegoating accountability with amplification.
47  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] WasabiWallet.io Signature Campaign | Up to $120/W on: January 20, 2024, 09:29:01 PM
Kruwed is Wasabi contributor. He admits it himself. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5286821.msg61954455#msg61954455

Everyone doing Wasabi advert supports Kruwed. Shameful!

Don't misconstrue the definitions of team member , contributor and developer.

A contributor really has no attachment to a project other than what they choose to contribute.

Basically he's like a volunteer at best.

Aside from other issues with wasabi..(That I don't condone)

Contributing 7 Grammer commits hardly constitutes as a dev.

I don't know why he would even mention it.

https://github.com/zkSNACKs/WalletWasabi/commits?author=Kruwed&since=2024-01-01&until=2024-01-21

I'd bet that wasabi would back the bus over this dude 5 times.

Bet hey, it brought to my attention of other issues that I'm glad happened. It's unfortunate for the project as a whole.

48  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: January 20, 2024, 08:37:37 PM
Shhhhh, its Samourai devs who are supposed to be morally repugnant.
For the sake of the discussion, I don't believe Samourai devs are saint either. I mean, they are orders of magnitude more trustworthy than Wasabi, and I'm a whirlpool user myself, but we frequently notice Samourai vs. Wasabi disputes which ruin the reputation of both.

I'm starting to think Kruw hated wasabi more than anyone here, there is no way someone could have done a better attack on their reputation than this one
Praising someone's death is undoubtedly one of the easiest ways to tarnish your reputation. However, there are numerous red flags associated with Wasabi's reputation. Even if you overlook Wasabi as an entity with all the falsehoods surrounding fungibility, address reuse, and the fact that zkSNACKs funds blockchain analysis, there's still a significant concern with Kruw himself serving as an alarm bell for Wasabi.

Deliberately disregarding every argument against Wasabi, resorting to whataboutism, and repeatedly using the same soundbites, accusing signature campaign participants of stealing users' coins without providing any evidence, believing that blacklisting in Bitcoin is sometimes necessary-- overall, his ethics seem to be a perplexing area.

How is he a wasabi dev/team member?
He has public stated he is a Wasabi contributor. If you check his Github page, he has worked on Wasabi.

49  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on service-for-asset exchange model. on: January 20, 2024, 07:52:10 PM
I lease 13 acres , own 1. Get it maintained for free, I keep 33% of the hay. Split it 50/50 with owner .
He gets taxes paid while his property vest , I get to use 13 acres. My buddy gets free hay(hey pays for fuel and has a farm just up the road). I make money just being in a good position. And I'm on a 4 year lease on the land without ever dropping a cent.

Ok, are you actually doing this or are you talking as an example because right now reading all this as a former farmer I feel dizzy and not from drinking some exquisite stuff, there are way to many questions there that would simply be useless if this is just  virtual land project area!
I mean, for real.....what the hell is this?

And furthermore, this is not what you were talking in the first place, your "example" is simply land lease with a lot of unnecessary steps and it's not makin a comeback since:
Quote
According to data from the National Agricultural Statistics Service,  in the United States almost 40% of farmland is leased.
You're promoting this new invention called the wheel?

It's not an example. I'm actually doing this. The only metaphor was eggs for sourdough.

You lease land, you monetize it. I don't want livestock responsibility so I got creative.
13 acres isn't much to start with so crops where a no go.

My primary goal it to find ways to keep it subleased untill I can outright buy it.

Maybe thinking pessimistically closes a lot of doors. Maybe that's why a lot of farms are selling out.

Just showing how symbiotic relations can work and can create a win win without spending a dime.

The only way this seems like it would work in an official capacity is a who you know situation.

As a few have mentioned before , I think building rapport would be the best way to proceed.

50  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] WasabiWallet.io Signature Campaign | Up to $120/W on: January 20, 2024, 05:57:36 PM
Unfortunately, the "Kruw" account has not been banned but thankfully the "Bitcoin SV" account has been banned. I hope I played some part in that because I reported many of their posts were not appropriate. Before that thread was locked, Bitcoin SV posts were containing profanities and wishing death.

Keeping that aside, to my knowledge "Kruw" is not (and has never been) part of the Wasabi team. I gave that account (Kruw) a neutral trust and added him to my ignore list.

development team [...]
As far as I know, he is not and has never been on the development team.

The only good that's came from this situation is SV finally got banned.

I literally said the same thing.

I did inquire as to how's kruw is linked in all this to verify with y'all here but multiple sources claim he's a team member ,I'll post my findings or pm to ico as not to derail this too much.

I could change my verbiage to wasabi team member instead of dev.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5482307.0

Either way , participating in a wasabi campaign at this point isn't something I'd like to continue.

As always ico it's been a pleasure working with you and I hope we can continue working together in the future.
53  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wasabi, Kruw, users and supporters of their low morals on: January 20, 2024, 05:36:04 PM
Isn't W**abi or any other service which offers a "mixing" service illegal on this forum since the beginning of this month? If promoting mixers is illegal now, promoting W**abi should be a ban offense too. The mods should delete every thread that is about W**abi. (probably this one too)
Mixers (centralized mixing services) are banned but those that provide decentralized mixing service (on noncustodial wallet) like Whirlpool of Sparrow and Samourai, Coinjoin of Jointmarket and Wabisabi of Wasabi are not banned.

Theymos banned only mixers, and Wasabi is not a mixer, it is a CoinJoin implementation.
Theymos may not categorize them as mixers, but literally they are mixers. In short, they are referred to as decentralized mixers.

It's all pretty gray an undefined at this point from what I can tell.
Crazy you cant advertise mixers, but you can advertise a mixer deployment service such as jambler.
Obviously smoke and mirrors and empty meaning.

The only good that's came from this situation is SV finally got banned.
54  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on service-for-asset exchange model. on: January 20, 2024, 05:01:07 PM
The possibilities are kinda limitless.

It's exactly the other way around, the possibilities get limited a dozen times over!

Would you go to the market to buy meat, potatoes or milk or would you search for a guy
- that needs to clean his house but he offers you chicken mean instead of pork
- a guy that needs to have a cabinet installed but he offers 3.5% mils not 1%
- a guy that indeed has the potatoes but he is asking for someone to ick him up from the station exactly when you go to work?

Barter was abandoned exactly because of this, people don't really want somebody's else exact stuff, if that stuff is precious then it already has a better buyer and the other guy can find your stuff probably cheaper in this case, so why bother?

I have also witnessed a similar situation as this when someone owns a land he doesn't have the financial resource to develop, he gives it out to farmers to plant on while the farmers cultivate the soul and gets of the proceeds, the owner of the land gets a small portion of the outcome of the proceed say 10% and also has someone that keeps his land cleared and free from grases.

That's not barter it's land lease and it's pretty common everywhere, my parents lease land from neighbors every 5 years, 40% of the land in the US that is used for farming is leased, although overwhelmingly for $ not direct crop.
OP is looking at something different, not stuff like renting for commissions.

I feel symbiotic relationships are making a comeback, the point of this post was how to make it comeback in an official capacity.
I can trade eggs for sourdough all day in an un-official capacity.
I lease 13 acres , own 1. Get it maintained for free, I keep 33% of the hay. Split it 50/50 with owner .

In light of recent postings by one of the development team members,
And new information presented to me ,I will be withdrawing from this campaign as of Monday.

Am I in the wrong campaign?
Wasabi is operated by a team which is caught lying frequently, supporting censorship, providing questionable levels of privacy, doxxing their competitors, and as Leo would put it, directly funding the enemy.

I do not decide what's morally right or wrong for you, that's usually Kruw's business. If you find it morally acceptable to advertise Wasabi after all this information, then so be it.

After seeing what has happened here, I have just communicated to the manager icopress that I will not continue in the Wasabi campaign because it goes against my moral principles. I will simply wait until the end of the week tomorrow and I will remove my signature.

I am not going to hold anything against those who will remain in the campaign or those who still have dealings with him but I simply can't continue.

I slept on it. And I'm in the same boat.
Will be my last week as well.

TLDR the team behind this project are immoral.

There are deleted post of this dev telling Leo to burn in hell on his farewell post.

57  Economy / Economics / Re: JP Morgan Chase fights 45 billion hack attempts a day. on: January 20, 2024, 05:16:25 AM
And they spend a good bit on on it too. 15 Billion a year on 62,000 "technologist"
It's always a cat and mouse game but damn..that's absolutely insane and relentless.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jpmorgan-chase-fights-off-45-211618309.html

Fiat doesn't feel safe, specially after reading that 😂

This is serious, spending billions to protect billions, I guess that their technologists will be happy about these hack attempts so their jobs gets valued and they get to keep it as long as cybercrime is still in existence. 15 billion budget a year to protect against hacks, I think that top hackers will even be happy to work for them and earn legitimately to protect the system against themselves.

It goes to show that scams and hacks are not immune to the banking system, because they'd love to label only crypto as the home to scams and hacks. Every financial transactions online can be a target of hacks and scams, either crypto or fiat.
right like franky1 said it's probably a few people utilizing multiple vectors.
There's a harsh truth to this though. Odds are those bad actors can't be employed for various reasons or their applications where discarded by an ats. Or even ZD submittals falling on deaf ears and blind eyes. Or they are government sponsored.
Government sponsored seems to be the most viable theory on who's attempting this. an average hack/injection attempt on sites I've managed seemed to be about 12,000-18,000 attempts p/try/single hacker attempt. If your server can hold up these attacks generally don't last but a few mins at most. I saw pretty crazy shit running 1splitkey, apparently the SC behind the distributed computing workaround system was highly desirable.
But there's plenty of black hat hackers that never even finished highschool. Ever notice the "bad guys" in press on digital crimes usually get offered a job?

59  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] Simple HTML websites on: January 19, 2024, 05:55:37 PM

Your demo is very good.

I think the best name for what you are doing is "front end develop". I think you "basic html" looks like html only page, which clearly isn't what your demo is.

My domain is basically front end only too (I created an api just recently)

Aside from 10 images and bitcoin whitepaper pdf in root its a single index.html

(check it out with console+developer tools on your browser) I couldn't share it raw here CF blocked it as its almost 400 lines.

edit to say thanks for that site, I've used it before!
60  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] Simple HTML websites for $20 on: January 19, 2024, 05:19:19 PM
OP's describing simple HTML website for fixed cost $20 isn't clear info but his demo's showing what he'll do. $5 for additional pages doesn't make smart sense if clients don't want to pay more if they're money clever they'll choose single page scroll that's better.

I did a demo page that was updated recently and might have been missed since you started posting.

Or they could get a whole new page with better organization for $5 more.

It depends on the use case scenario on what's a smart buy.

,editing topic to better relay what's included.
