41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Machine Learning is Needed to Detect Money Laundering on: August 05, 2019, 07:34:27 PM
Blockchain forensic companies such as Ciphertrace and Elliptic are developing deep learning techniques to monitor money laundering on the Bitcoin ledger. Now researchers at MIT and IBM are working to apply deep learning techniques to detect the ledger even further.

As Dave Jevans CEO of Ciphertrace has mentioned "Tracking funds through the Blockchain system requires the most advanced computer science and cybercrime knowhow."

Curious to see how these companies will plan to work with governments and if they will bridge the gap between regulators and the crypto company.

42  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why hasn't any government stopped Bitcoin? on: August 01, 2019, 05:15:28 PM
How would they just stop it? they would have to kill the internet. It'll be interesting to see how different countries' governments react but for the most part I think they see the potential in getting involved
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money laundering: Bitcoin is used 800 times less than fiduciary currencies on: August 01, 2019, 05:06:12 PM
How do we know/track fiduciary currencies to the scale we can Bitcoin? Granted we haven't been able to do so until recently with the proper technology as blockchain forensics companies like Ciphertrace or Elliptic provide
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scarcity of Blockchain Developers on: July 30, 2019, 10:39:15 PM
This will be a great resource esp for businesses who are looking to implement a blockchain. Curious to see how their security pans out.
45  Other / Off-topic / Re: FaceApp privacy alert on: July 29, 2019, 07:15:37 PM
Number one thumb rule, if you use an app without payment.

You are the product of it. This isn't just for faceapp but also for each app, they save our data and monetize with it.

100% I don't think the general public understands the workings of companies and how they would make money. If you don't pay, you are the product.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / NULS Mainnet from 1.0 to 2.0 on: July 29, 2019, 07:09:32 PM
Exciting news to those who holders of NULS as Nuls 2.0 has just been launched. Specific technical obstacles have been solved and breakthoughs in the design are what set this platform apart. I am actually quite impressed with their recent ChainBox applicatoin which allows any developer not just blockchain native to develop a blockchain with supplied modules.

There are a handful of other updates but I think they really hit it out of the park with this announcement.

47  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New phishing attack using Google Calendar on: July 29, 2019, 07:01:12 PM
Wow that is really scary, I am surprised this isn't more known in the space. Luckily I haven't come across this year. Did you receive an email first and then it took you directly to the calendar invite?
48  Other / Off-topic / Re: Area 51 on: July 24, 2019, 11:52:12 PM
they are definitely hiding something that could be detrimental to the US government and if it were to be leaked could cause a fiasco between governments
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Has anyone gave their hand at Elixxir's Arrow SDK? on: July 24, 2019, 11:16:37 PM
Privacy platform Elixxir released their Arrow SDK utilizing a cMix protocol that David Chaum himself developed. I was just wondering if anyone has looked into it or wants to share their thoughts on it

50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Out-of-the-box Blockchain on: July 24, 2019, 10:57:37 PM
I am excited to see the businesses that are planning to integrate NULS especially after they just released their announcement to include ERC-721 as well within their modules
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Elixxir Project Review on: July 23, 2019, 05:53:37 PM
Is anyone else patiently waiting for Elixxir?

52  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it really this hard to start out? on: July 23, 2019, 05:34:40 PM
There will be a steep learning curve for about 6 months but there are so many great resources online. Keep reading and learning and it will come. Don't be afraid to ask questions and I recommend finding a mentor that can help teach you
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can now build a Blockchain in under 10 minutes on: July 23, 2019, 05:27:12 PM
NULS 2.0 has released the simplest and lowest cost chain-building tool for businesses to build a blockchain in under ten minutes. Modules walk any developer through step by step processes to build a customizable blockchain depending on needs. No programming language is necessary, Nuls basically does the coding for you.

https://nuls.io/developer/

but what's the use of it? also an ERC20 token is very fast and almost easy to create. but more important than the
technical implementation is the idea. here must be something unique, the best team and good marketing. as said
the technology itself is often the smallest challenge Cool

Did you see they announced ERC-721 integration as well recently? https://medium.com/@nuls/nuls-2-0-beta-added-nrc-721-standards-and-now-it-is-possible-to-issue-non-fungible-tokens-on-the-bf39cb446fc2
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $32m stolen from Tokyo cryptocurrency exchange in latest hack on: July 23, 2019, 04:40:30 PM
This never ending hacks on exchanges are getting rampant now, i hope every exchange platforms will double their respective security protocols in order to protect customer's assets and to establish good ground defenses against these fraudulent attackers. Hoping other exchanges always stay vigilant on these type of attacks to ensure credibility and trusts from traders.

These hacks will never end because most of the times it’s an insider person, who hacks these exchange with the help of hackers. As far I know most of these exchanges are using premium security to safeguard them, but hackers are also getting smarter and with confidential information being leaked to them their task of hacking becomes easier. I don’t know if exchanges will become more vigilant or not, but I would suggest all to stay away from exchanges as time and time again they get hacked and people loose their coins.

I think there will be an end to the hacks sometime. Especially as more exchanges work with cyber security firms like ciphertrace who specialize in AML compliance. Even if its from the inside job they will be able to catch it early on
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🚀 Best live Proof of Stake network. What's your favorite? on: July 17, 2019, 09:57:14 PM
Cosmos
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Libra the future anyone wants? on: July 17, 2019, 09:47:40 PM
Yes, it is the future. Because so many services you will be able to pay via this Libra coin. As Facebook one of the main social provider. Pretty sure that they will find the solution to that conflict of interests.

But at the risk of saking our privacy? I think Elixxir has a point

hahaha this was one of my favorite troll responses  too
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quickest Way to Deploy a Blockchain on: July 17, 2019, 09:39:53 PM
If this ever turns out to be a reality, I see an era where all those projects that raised big bucks from their ICO but have no idea what they are actually doing would start building their own blockchain enmass and trying to collect more funds from investors, Hell, I would even open my own blockchain and call it the BeginToMine Blockchain.

Have you looked into either of these projects? I read on Nuls website that they are looking to reach any developer not just blockchain native
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NULS Online Hackathon prizes up to $500k on: July 17, 2019, 08:59:26 PM
Will be interesting to see what happens with the different projects that come out of this
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Does Elixxir work? on: July 16, 2019, 07:19:39 PM
I know a lot of people are patiently waiting to see what the Cypto OG David Chaum's project Elixxir has to show. While still in its early stages developers and now individuals can explore the anticipated app through Prelixxir.

AlphaNet release should be soon as well as a roadmap. Thoughts?
