Nice contest Kano...lets hope a few small miners win!

LoL it's all right here ...let me help you ...just read it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1165628.0

Ugh, you are totally missing the point.  -- I am looking for first hand experience, someone who has worked with bitmain, more than just a single unit. Just asking questions.  If you have experience with these units, ordering, and live in NA, maybe PM me or something. I can ask you directly. Otherwise, just stop being a dick. I obviously have read this thread extensively, so you linking me to the root page is like me sending you a link for something you already know, like this:

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=define%3A+you%27re+being+a+dick

No it not obvious to me at all.

I have read all 12 of your post in the forums.  If you had indeed read thru this thread you would have seen ( and not to many pages back) where someone had ordered multiple miners shipped to the U.S. and his troubles he ran into. Dont you think you would learn more from skimming thru the pages and following all the good and bad we have been thru in ordering the S7 from Bitmain. You would have a better understanding knowing it like that. I say bullshit your going to drop $100k for miners. Good luck in your astounding research.
44  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: January 15, 2016, 07:19:30 PM
Well its definately now cheaper then before.

Price:       2.4 BTC
               ( 960 USD )

Will be interesting to see what happens they had it on fixed BTC as it seemed to be rising and was better then fixed USD.  I really would not be surprised if we see a switch back to fixed USD  if it drops much more.

Or I could be wrong and they sell at lower price hoping for more sales.

No really. I am asking. Has anyone got these shipped to the USA From Bitmain China ? How long did it take. What does it cost? I hear their support doesn't exist at all. So. Hopefully they run flawlessly or else. Doomed.

Comments ?

I asked this question a few pages back.. I am thinking about ordering between 90 - 140 units from Bitmain S7 the batch 9, but I am asking. Has anyone ordered from their site before? How long do they take to arrive, how is their support?

Does anyone know? Or are most people here just buying one or two second hand from EBay?

They are the best units on the market.  From order to delivery is usually about 1-2wks unless specified on the site says something else.  They do stand by their products for 90days, but put you through all of the troubleshooting yourself if something goes wrong with a unit.  They email pics and procedures on how to test and evaluate the problem unit.  If you cannot resolve the issue, they have you mail the hashboards or control board back to them without the metal housing.  You have to pay the shipping.  The turnaround from problem to getting the repaired parts back to you is about 3-4weeks.  Hope this helps.

Thank you for your note. More questions for you.

Did you order units from them ?

How much was shipping ?

Are you in the USA or North America? Was shipping difficult ie. Brokerage or customs etc?

How many units did you order from them ? I find it really hard to believe they arrived in two weeks. But if that's true. That is amazing

I find it hard someone that is willing to drop $100K does not do simple research into what he is buying. All the answers you want are either here in this thread or on Bitmains website.

I am doing research. That is what this is.

Show me a thread where someone says Supoort is good, tells you how long it took their units to arrive. Explains customs and shipping cost.

Don't be a dick. It's a rule on this forum.

Phil it's been a while since batch 1 but I thought I also remember once Bitmain knew they had a problem with under preforming miners they started asking people if they wanted the miner with a small refund to make up for the lower hash or wait for a miner that will mine at the advertised rate? It seemed to me there was a few days that people ended up with lower preforming miners before it was caught. Without digging thru all the old post that is the best I can remember, but I just assumed those first slow ones would get also compensated like they did for the others that were asked if they wanted them or wait.  I really didn't follow much about the S7 dog miners because I was not effected by it.

Well it looks like I received my Batch 1 compensation about 1 hour ago from Bitmain. Thank you

how did you get it?

My batch 1's were short hash  like 4500- 4600  vs the 4860 I paid for.

Phil our comp was for being late not for under hash. Not sure what to tell you on that.

"hi
We dont have compensations now,and our sales team have compensated customer with that orders in the beginning ."

This is what I got from Sherry at Bitmain regarding compensation for my batch 1

Well it looks like I received my Batch 1 compensation about 1 hour ago from Bitmain. Thank you

Wooohooo! I got mine toooooo!

Same here...Bitmain came through on their promise.
What did u guys get? Me and a few ppl haven't gotten anything.
Just wondering if either one of you or anybody else that did get not get the compensation received the request from Bitmain for a wallet address to send it to a few weeks back?

Funny how they payout the compensation right after price crashes.

No conspiracy theory here. I have to hand it to Bitmain for making good on their promise to compensate us on Batch 1 for being late.

Edit: Besides when I ordered the price of BTC was $242 a coin so really it is worth a lot more by being paid late.

My Kano average was 0.0060 BTC/TH/Day in December and it is up to 0.0066 BTC/TH/Day this month.  I'm usually leery of adding rentals such as NiceHash but right now there are a lot in the 0.0046-0.0050 BTC/TH/Day range on NiceHash and 0:0050-0.0055 BTC/TH/Day range on WestHash.  It seems logical that you could take advantage of it for a short while and come out on top...

As long as you know it's a gamble. It's fine with your own hardware, which probably breaks even at 20-50% luck. But paying for a rental at a 110-120% rate has worse odds than rolling it on PrimeDice.

It has also been posted many times about if you can  trust the miners you rent to report a block if found. Also you have no idea how far away from the pools servers they are located.
55  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [10 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 14, 2016, 08:23:43 PM
I do not understand this pool,
page did not appear the speed,
I go on working, and there is no worker,
I go on payments, and I have nothing,
I primio go on, and there's nothing

where am I wrong? Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

If you mine to an address, it won't show in a username account that also uses the same address.
The username account will only show stats for mining to the username.

This is obviously necessary, otherwise anyone could create an account and look at all the mining details of someone else's address.

Obviously you haven't lost anything of course.
Look in your wallet, you have already received payments to that address from the pool.

By what is posted above you must be mining to a wallet address than a user name? Does your wallet show the payments from the pool? If so then all is working.

Looks nice...good luck with your venture.
57  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Whatever happened to Bitcoin Affiliate Network? on: January 12, 2016, 11:26:56 AM
Over 6 months no pay, revamped the site but made sure chat and support is turned off.
Still owed for mining done, with B.A.N. .

yep and now my balance is missing.. I check in every now and then...they owe me .41xxxxx BTC for months! Now, no record on their end.. still no chat or contact availability... I can't even tell them they are a$$holes.. I hope when the operators of that pool die, it's slow and painful.  As if you couldn't tell, I do not appreciate thievery.  Angry

You had plenty of warning toward the end.

multibit.
anyone can recommend me a safer wallet ? maybe something with mail confirmation to approve an transaction ?

I use Coinbase. It notifies me when there is a deposit with USD value (great for accounting) or withdrawals. Allows use of 2FA.

same here...and the vault is a 3 day wait before the coins leave. great service

Well... it appears I've gotten notice.  I saw I had a new PM, so I read it.  In an effort to be fully transparent with the miners on my pool, here is the message I received:

I find it incredibly absurd that somebody would target this pool for any kind of attack.  We've found 2 blocks and the pool's liquid assets aren't even worth the ransom this guy is demanding.

Please make sure you've got a backup configured just in case this attack does occur.

It must be a slow day at the extortion office......
