41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Halving Experiences on: April 30, 2024, 11:04:13 PM
I’ve read about this, but a lot still confuses me, to be honest this is my first time getting to know about it. It happens every four years, just like a World Cup… Wow.
The halving happens every 210,000 blocks to be precise, which happens to be approximately every 4 years.

How it affects pricing like if it reduces the bitcoin by half the price of btc at the time should be lesser but it increases and the mining process it benefits big companies who have bigger and better tools and energy so small scale miners have low chances of profiting from the rewards.
What’s the main purpose of the halving. I wanna hear experiences of people who have benefited or had a loss because of the BTC halving
Everytime halving happens, it means the number of new Bitcoins entering the circulation is reduced because the block rewards get halved. Since there is an increasing demand for Bitcoin in the market, with the diminishinh supply, it means the Bitcoin price will periodically keep rising.

This is beneficial to investors, traders, and miners and no, BTC halving does not benefit only big companies. Everyone involved benefits as long as the prices keeps mooning.
42  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 🌟 SwapGate | Efficient Cryptocurrency Exchange 🌟 on: April 30, 2024, 10:27:37 PM
1. Lower the minimum exchange amounts to at least $20 or $50 for people who want to do small swaps
2. You have no maximum limits, which makes it weird.

For example, you are promising to send me 1,001,620,000 BTC. Maximum supply is 21,000,000 BTC
43  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Should crypto have a 'savings account' option? on: April 30, 2024, 04:04:44 PM
While the market was dangling and there was a strong fall in the general crypto market, I remembered the traditional bank savings where you could save your money and still get some interests on it. Imagine saving Bitcoin and earning interests on it when it has gone down and when it goes back up, you are in double profits margin, because it will be too risky to not have a way save your assets and your profits from the falling market and waiting for when the market is favourable.

I believe if a carnival like this(https://www.bitget.com/support/articles/12560603808932) can be adopted on crypto avenues, it could go a long way  to help traders safeguard their assets from the volatile nature of the crypto market, becauseI know if things like this were in place, I would not have lost my assets three years back after I made some profits from the massive bull market saw.
There is also something called taking profit and then waiting for a perfect buying opportunity (or buying the dip). I think this is far better that keeping my funds in an exchange in the name of staking and DeFi.

Do you know there are people who got burned by the FTX collapse because they were trying to stake and farm some yield?

Yeah , imagine a money printing machine where everyone gets money by doing nothing, how could that be not a great idea?
Remember Celsius, that was a savings account, you would deposit your coins, get interest on it and then....you would have no more coins.
People tend to forget so quickly!
44  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Wallet - Open Source, Noncustodial Coinjoin Software on: April 30, 2024, 03:20:24 PM
>>snip<<
I am still surprised you trust these politicians and Governments that will do anything to stay a float and try to control their people, or should we say flock? Politicians will follow any trend so long as it benefits them and feeds their greed. Once they have taken a grip of their people, they will ban whatever they think is no longer useful to them.

When at war, I see some countries resorting to being crypto-friendly by accepting crypto donations and also transactions to bypass the sanctions to survive, but once things are much better. All they think about is banning the same cryptocurrencies that saved their asses.  Grin
45  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Pecunix scam prevented me from investing in bitcoin on: April 30, 2024, 03:05:00 PM
very interesting to hear details about how anyone has been able to recover his or her money. I can't still recover my money from this scammer.
You probably just have to forget about the money. Isn't that now over a decade ago? You should have pursued for justice before the case or trail went cold. Trying to recover your money lost in 2014 right now is like trying to chase after wind.

What is positive is that you learned your lessons.
46  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Tradest Indicator Script works? on: April 30, 2024, 02:51:45 PM
tradest.io is down, is anyway to get this indicator? thanks
Have you ever used it before?

The site was shilled by so many newbie accounts in the forum. I wouldn't have trusted it even if it was online. It also seems it has been offline for over 2 years, so don't even bother wasting your time looking for that indicator.
Even their telegram username was deleted a long time ago.
47  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Screener Binance, Coinbase, OKX, Kraken. All charts in 1 page on: April 30, 2024, 01:51:55 PM
Nice tool. Probably going to bookmark it too to explore it further later.

1. Is there a way of setting up your custom charts and not have those default charts at the top (like BTC, ETH etc.). I want the ability to place charts of any coin or token I am monitoring at the top.

2. What is the importance of signing up? Does your service also have the pro/premium version, perhaps?
48  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BucksBus: KYC-free crypto payment gateway with almost 0% fee on: April 30, 2024, 01:33:32 PM
I was trying to read through the Frequently Asked Question on your website and there is absolutely no link to it. Why?
How is someone supposed to know about your service in brief is there are no FAQs?

You say "BucksBus is a brand of NetTradeX, registered in the United Arab Emirates" but on checking NetTradeX, they don't mention your service anywhere. Their correspondence address Nettradex Limited 38, Spyrou Kyprianou street, office 101, Germasogeya, 4042, Limassol, Cyprus. How is this possible?
49  Economy / Services / Re: FREE/PAY BITCOIN TRANSACTION ACCELERATOR on: April 30, 2024, 12:55:34 PM
Hi,

can someone please add this one?
8c6a21f90de501c4b476a9d30cfa8f94c4f57d80cbe54261f4d139091c8ad3ac

I notice that I ask here a lot and would love to do it on my own, if I'd know how.
Please let know where to find a tutorial on how to add txs myself.

Anyway thank you very much!
It appears your transaction was confirmed two hours ago. The Bitcoin transactions fee rate has massively dropped over the past few days. Please when making a transaction especially from a noncustodial wallet like electrum or sparrow, always ensure that the transaction is RBF enabled so that you can bump up the fee in case the fee rate spikes.

You can also perform CPFP in case you have control of the receiving address.

ViaBTC transaction accelerator can also help in certain circumstances: https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator (read the requirements)
50  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Forget about exchanger search! Use BestChange! on: April 30, 2024, 12:39:47 PM
As fees rise there will be more demand for the Lightning Network, providing a bitcoin LN option will help a lot.
https://i.postimg.cc/52wmdbqj/image.png
Searches for Lightning Network apps will increase and they will inevitably look for any exchange that accepts Lightning Network, providing it on Bestchange means more views.

I do see some exchangers that support LN and the exchange rate or BTC LN is the same as the one of Bitcoin, perhaps. Maybe the reason they haven't included LN is that the user will still be able to see if the exchange supports LN or not once they visit the website.
51  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk features I've wondered about on: April 29, 2024, 11:20:40 PM
The forum works on SMF version 1.1.19. released Dec 3, 2006. The next version 2.0.19, was released on Jun 11, 2011, In the meantime, Bitcointalk was built and the Btt admin made many changes and customizations. Every further update posed a risk for the non-functionality of the adjustments made until then, so many things remained unchanged
One thing I don't understand is that I see a couple of forums using SMF software as well like (altcointalks and Bitcoingarden) but the interfaces seems a little more appealing and “modern” compared to bitcointalk. Could this be more to do with customization, or just the different versions used?
52  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: exmocryptoexchange.com on: April 29, 2024, 06:36:14 PM
It's a scam exchange. It's good to know that you have got it already figured out when you saw that the so-called profits were too good to true. I don't know why people keep trusting some random internet strangers for investment advice. The truth is that most of them are just scammers.

Money is not made that way. Turning $100 to $10,000 with in a week without breaking a sweat? If this was possible, most of us would be rich by now.
53  Economy / Reputation / Re: To JollyGood and Icopress, on: April 29, 2024, 05:59:46 PM
Sorry guys, this forum discriminates against small level members, so your posts don't get attention from popular members.
Why should they when they know that an account isn't even a genuine newbie account that is so much into the forum politics from day one.

Take a look at this account for example. Any sensible person would just ignore it or whatever it's trying to post here because the person behind it does not even have enough guts to use their main account.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not able to sell thus coin though the dexscreener shows the coin is regularly so on: April 29, 2024, 05:28:40 PM
The token is a scam. I am not sure how you ended up buying it without doing some research. There are a lot of scam shitcoins out therein those dexes. Probably only 1% have no intention of turning into scam.

The token has a trade cooldown function enabled, meaning that once you buy the token, you can not sell if off for a specified period of time. It's only the scammer who's able to sell off the tokens.

55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Atomic Wallet Staking Rewards For LUNC Is 38% on: April 28, 2024, 11:46:01 PM
Why not stake as long as it's at that rate and bail when it decreases?
Can we talk about its price trend too?  Grin

Like the famous saying goes If you don’t know the source of yield, you’re the yield

Your so called 38% staking rewards will be useless if the LUNC price drops by 50%
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EMC2 unable to withdraw from komodo wallet on: April 26, 2024, 11:25:56 PM
Do you still have access to the seeds of the wallet that contains your EMC2?

Try importing those seeds to a wallet that supports EMC2 like coinomi and see if they coins reflect. Please beware that coinomi also has its own issues. I do see their official wallet though it seems to have not been maintained for a long time and the download page also is insecure - https://www.emc2.foundation/wallets
57  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Beware of godex.io exchange "SCAM" 58 ETH on: April 26, 2024, 10:18:05 PM
If this is indeed what happened, I wished they would have been honest and told me so.
You could say that again. I understand. I have also come across such incompetent customer support assistants. Some even do not know the language well, and their replies or reactions are never satisfactory.

Instead they told me the tokens are old thus have no value and cannot be refunded. Makes me think they are just keeping the tokens.
Given that it's a lot of money involved, you could try making some noise in different forums where they have a presence and also try to convince them to ask Binance to send back the old tokens.

It's going to be a very hard task, but for 58 ETH, I don't think you have any other choice.
58  Economy / Reputation / Re: BitcoinGirl.Club: How a condescending attitude equates to trust exclusion on: April 26, 2024, 10:04:16 PM
I wouldn't wanna make this look too intrusive but, Bitcoingirl's attitude changed after the major hack recovery
Were you around before and when the hack happened?  Grin

Feels like it was a long time ago. I remember the saga.
59  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Beware of godex.io exchange "SCAM" 58 ETH on: April 25, 2024, 11:39:10 PM
But is it not possible that we could have old tokens lying around and are not always keeping up-to-date? If I remember correctly, ETH gas fees were sky high then and there was no deadline for swap, so I did not rush to swap. In fact, if they did not want to support, they should not provide price quotes in Trezor Exchange instead of showing quotes and then refusing to swap nor refund them after I sent the tokens? I was accepting a big haircut off market value for the quoted swap precisely because I thought they were old tokens.

If the tokens are indeed without value as they claim, why not send them back instead of keeping them and saying they have no value? They are in fact still swappable via wallet.loomx.io/token-swap , I just swapped a few more yesterday.
Here is the huge problem. Godex might be working with partners for liquidity like Binance, so when you sent the tokens to their address. Of course, they might have tried to send them over to Binance (which probably no longer supports the old tokens) for exchange of which they found out that the tokens were invalid. From what I know, once you send a wrong token to an exchange, getting a refund is almost impossible for security purposes of other people's funds.

If you have some doubts, try to send a few old tokens to Binance and see if they will credit your account. I am very sure you will lose the funds and receive nothing.

I see on my Binance mobile app, LOOMOLD (old loom network) is suspended.
60  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 23, 2024, 11:54:13 PM
It looks like some scammers are now trying to take advantage of the gap left due to the mixer ban.

What should be done to users who register in the forum to post phishing/fake mixers?
Are they going to be banned or this is a situation where they just get tagged since it's not a real Bitcoin mixer but just a phishing site?

Take an example of this guy ---> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5493906.0 (archive: https://ninjastic.space/topic/5493906)
