I can assure you, once the firmware is in production mode, y’all are going to really like it... for more than one reason.

Stop teasing us. We need to wait until end of March to see production units delivered?

A few orders will go out in March. A majority in April.

What is the maximum order # that will go out in March? I want to see if I'm in!

Also will you offer a discount for the ones that pre-order from you?

What driver is the most stable driver?
43  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: January 06, 2018, 06:34:57 PM
NotFuzzyWarm, I'm not sure I understand the basis of your claim. Why do you feel the need to say shit like that? You can't claim it's a scam without proof. Maybe it's different in your country, but in mine it's "innocent until proven guilty". You have no proof that Halong is a scam. You have unsatisfactory answers to your questions. That's about all.

This post is in the "Mining Speculation" sub-forum. If you'd like to start a new thread called "Confirmed Scam", go ahead, but no one is going to listen to you and you'll just embarrass yourself further. I understand some of you "professional, unbiased reviewers" in this forum feel entitled and worthy of receiving a free unit to test for yourselves, but honestly, real mining equipment manufacturers don't need reviews. The equipment will sell and the results will be shown.

So, go ahead and cry wolf, NotFuzzyWarm. You're only digging yourself a deeper hole and will become less trusted in the community with assumptions.

***  Halongmining Dragonmint miner is a SCAM! If someone buys their miners without any well-known and trusted Forum Users 1st getting one for doing a review and posting it here then well, you have been warned ***

I've witnessed more than 100M$ being scammed off the people from this forum during 2013-2014. It's how this forum self defense works. You need to understand why is this happening to you. If you don't understand that it means that you don't understand part of your customers. Why bother to make your story credible so much since you are not taking any orders? Just wait until you ship or until you can show more tangible proof and stop wasting time.
44  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: 0.96.4 RC1 on: December 30, 2017, 11:00:09 PM
Hey goatpig I found a strange bug in 0.96.1. Not sure if it's present in this version too. Here it is: I tried setting the fee to 218 sat/byte, but Armory would just set it to 21. It's not important, but just saying.

Thank you for your effort as always!
45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 29, 2017, 07:16:32 PM
I will refrain from name calling and cursing. But, you dudes will be really embarrassed with all your naysaying.

Hello. You should know that this forum and its members have seen a lot of mining hardware scams since 2013 onward so it is normal for them to be so skeptic. I used to do the same, to keep asking companies questions and not believe them until I saw a third party review. If your product proves to be real and at least advertised specs this forum will flood you with money. Everyone is desperate for other than Bitmain products. I did give it a shot and made an order. Until now I managed to escape the scams. If this will prove real or not we shall see.

There is far more at play here than is currently understood. Obviously there has not much of anything revealed at this point, and I respect the honest skepticism that some have expressed. If I were better at public relations, I would never have jumped on here and started making promises.

The only thing I can say right now is... if you really are uncomfortable sending $ to what appears to be scam, then just wait a few weeks.

Now this is a rough estimate, but Bitmain has around 70% of the mining equipment industry market share right now. They also own various mining pools out there (whether obvious or unknown).  A change needs to occur and this Halong project is that change.

As said above please understand that forum users have all the reasons to be skeptic as hell. Stop trying to convince us with words. Bring our the real products and reviews and let us order. Maybe have a small discount for forum users  Huh  Cool

Good luck!

DragonMint is real because Adam Back will never lie about the miners. For what reason would Adam Back lie like that, anyway? i'm placing my pre-order once it is open, with or without this review regardless.

IF that guy posted positive stuff on bitcointalk be cautious anyway...on the original litecointalk I bought (or tried to, was a scam hacked acccount) a titan cube from the account of the original 4 founders/super mods with all powers on that site...it was hacked...and when found out I think the hacker having all sysop powers ...flushed the site

He also posted on Twitter. Can't be hacked.

And I have six gpus coming from amazon and Evga.

What are you mining?  Huh

Edit: It looks like Francis Pouliot will soon demo the miner at an university. Can't wait!

Found the problem. The cgminer build.
49  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 29, 2017, 09:50:49 PM
The ones that give me this message are hot.
Are there other ones running? If yes, it canīt be the drivers.
Tried to run them with 100 MHz? That helps sometimes to reinitialize them.
Where do you get the message? Is it inside the running cgminer?

I got a total of 3. 2 aren't running at all and they are hot when they are simply in the USB slot and 1 is running, but cgminer sees it as COMPAC-2 and after running for 1-2 minutes I get a message saying "Dup nonce". Also cgminer seems to set the frequency weird. I see a line with the following message that I haven't seen before "GSD 0: set frequency: 100.00 [07 03]" on the one that is running.

But when running cgminer.exe -n I can see all 3 as 2Pac products. Isn't it weird?

If they're hot, it could be the voltage is cranked up too high and the hub ports crap out when the chips try to initialize.

They are hot, but I haven't touched the voltage and I never ran them higher than 100MHz.

When I'm running cgminer with "--gekko-2pac-freq 100" argument I get the "failed usb_init" message and then "No devices detected!", but the device is visible when running cgminer -n.

Here's to hoping they're legit, because... Fuck shitmain.

Couldn't have said it better!
51  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 27, 2017, 06:06:14 PM
I get "failed usb_init" for 2 devices. Reinstalled drivers, unplugged - same message. The ones that give me this message are hot. Are they dead?

Edit: running cgminer.exe -n shows me all devices. What now?

Anyone?

I have a couple of 2Pacs. I had an anti-malware force shutdown cgminer and now when I start it I get an error "failed init_usb" and no device detected, but if I do cgminer.exe -n the devices are listed. Are the miners dead? Do I have a driver issue?
53  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: November 22, 2017, 11:16:03 PM
I really hope its not a scam, but there have been so many. I guess it comes down to two old adages:

"Fortune favours the brave" and "A fool and his gold are easily parted."

I don't see the need for such secrecy however, if its there and it works, why publish all the information relevant, about the company, the developers, the engineers, the process, the fab, the layout, the chips etc etc.

Also interesting reddit thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7eqw71/rip_bitmain/

From my point of view the fact that Adam Back saw it running live and btcdrak being behind this project gives me confidence, but my scam detector may have gotten rusty.

I for one would NEVER trust anything read in a crypto blog.
If someone does a detailed hands-on review of it with pictures, etc -- maybe.
Fact is most crypto 'news' sites are simply pay-for-placement PR sites and have nothing to do with real reviews or facts.

Would you trust Adam Back vouching that the miner is real?
56  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 240 blocks solved! on: October 26, 2017, 07:54:47 PM
It's as CG says here, it is only for bragging rights, but if you wish to know what a good best share is then the following explanation will help you understand better.

After 100 shares, on average your best share should be 100.
After 1,000,000 shares, on average your best share should be 1,000,000.
After 1,200,000,000,000 shares, on average your best share should be that too, meaning you should have found one block with it. That's why on average it takes current diff number of shares to find one block.

If your best share is less than the total number of shares you've contributed, then your luck is a little low, and vice versa. It has absolutely zero bearing on your chance of finding an ultra lucky best share in the very next share, but it's interesting to watch nonetheless.

Nice info.

Sorry if this was covered before, but what is the difference between GSD and BSD in cgminer when listing the devices?

Since when is a month or so "abandoned long ago"?

Why do people ASSUME that "continuous improvement in mining a specific algorithm" is POSSIBLE?

Especially in a free product Smiley

Thank you. I ended up downloading through Mega by disabling Chrome's infected website check.

I do have another question however. I put my wallet address as the login as the username using Zcash flypool's server in the miner.cfg file. I turned the miner on this morning and when I returned from work, I checked the web GUI for flypool and noticed I earned no Zcash even though it was mining for 8-9 hours. Can anyone help me get set up with this? Thanks!

The pool needs to find a block before paying you.

0.96.1. RCA2.
You are fine

And one more question. Should  dbcache be set in bitcoin.conf to speed up synchronization? I have 16 Gb RAM. so arguably I can set dbcache=4000. Will it help?
If can afford to feed your node more RAM, you are better off. dbcache goes in bitcoin.conf indeed.

Would 8000 be "enough" for now or would you recommend more?

Edit:
Ah, I see what you did wrong. You have to manually pick the C++ signer for it to work atm. Ugh, this is coming back to bite me in the ass, isn't it?

How about a more visible sign like "C++ Signer - SegWit Compatible" or something like that?
