Shipping is 550$ for 2 units in the USA. I assume it's the same for Canada too.

O_O 550 dollar shipping?Huh

That's the price for 2 units. It's 225$ per unit. Shipped via UPS. I find this on par with other shipping quotes. Do you think it's too much?

903  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Turning off miners on: January 15, 2015, 12:36:04 AM
What I find funny is that the more people turning off hardware right now the harder it makes for the rest of the network to survive. If we lose 50% of the hashpower tomorrow it will take 1 month to get to the next difficulty re-target which will make it harder for miners to pay the power fees.
904  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is the S5 string design safe and was it really tested properly? on: January 14, 2015, 08:36:20 PM
there is not a lot of evidence of  an  s-5 burning up .

just mine  Undecided
i asked Yoshi if I could mine on antpool with my SP20's and he said yes.

what's the difference between solo. and p2p. on antpool?

On solo you get 25 BTC when you find a block. p2p antpool is a regular pool.

From the AMHash website:

Quote
Higher ROI

AMHash has a low cost on both initial price and maintenance fee.The maintenance is only $1.633 per day per TH,which equals to $0.07/kwh.

The fee has been lowered to $1.551/DAY/TH now though.

So that means that the higher maintenance fee was also bringing undisclosed profit for AMHash. Nice.

Since AM has the most efficient chip on the market (please correct me if I'm wrong), AM may be able to use the strong bear market as an advantage to regain a larger portion of network hashrate.

I think you mean sample chips.
906  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: January 14, 2015, 05:11:36 PM
I doubt it. AM will have their new 28nm chips next month and the samples performed better than expected this time. Production of miners will swiftly follow.

While the samples performed better than expected I am still waiting to see the 24 chip board. Since friedcat hasn't shown it yet then I assume there are some problems with the design or he managed to burn all sample chips and that would mean that the production of the miners will not follow swiftly.

908  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 14, 2015, 01:45:24 AM
Or maybe high tech start-ups go bankrupt after burning through piles of cash all the time, and you just can't accept your hasty rush to judgement was wrong.

Fair enough. I would like to know on what exactly were the money spent. Can you tell us that?
909  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 13, 2015, 11:51:34 PM
I wonder if at this exchange rate HF would allow full BTC refunds  Roll Eyes

Wow, looks like there some farms shutting down.
Check out the last 30 days Hashrate on
  https://blockchain.info/charts/hash-rate?timespan=30days&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=1&show_header=true&scale=0&address=

dropped from 358,478,281 GH as low as 229,513.534 GH ..

sword taking another break?LOL

Seriously though, comments? Big farms shutting down? Impact difficulty? What about us little guys?

Some farms are shutting down, but that's also bad luck.
911  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cointerra AIRE Miner 16nm PreOrder on: January 13, 2015, 09:26:33 PM
That's damn expensive power for a cloud location.

i said it was back of the envelope calculations.  please go ahead and improve the accuracy and show your own calculation.  perhaps we can crowdsource the accurate figures.  but the principle is the same and the numbers are broadly in line, don't you agree?

do you currently host for significantly less than $100/KW/Month?   I'm pretty sure when i got quotes from iceland and Washington, the prices were in the $70-80 for the lowest cost places, and most of america was in the $100-150 range (i myself was paying $150/KW/Month which is why i shut down my mining in october)

I host under $100KW/month, but no by much, BUT I use a lot less power than a cloud mining operation so that's why I'm amazed that you got those rates.

913  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Turning off miners on: January 13, 2015, 07:11:43 PM
Nothing is turned off for me. Just underclocked some and at $200/BTC I am underclocking the rest of them. At $100/BTC I am turning off miners.

Edit: But difficulty might go down again which is good.
914  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 13, 2015, 07:02:25 PM
So during the bankruptcy thing was there an audit on how were the money spent? Because I'm damn curious where would 40M-50M$ vanish while producing only a handful of miners.

y isnt ne one responding to this?? i myself wanna know specifics about this not just a blanket statement like "production costs".

Because there wasn't. Wait for the icetard to come and tell you that it is all in the documents...
915  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: January 13, 2015, 07:00:26 PM
Hey what's the best underclocking W/GH that was achieved? What start voltage?

Basically the next person that has a hash rate between 800 GH and 50 TH that finds a block.

Is there one or more SP20 to be won?
917  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cointerra AIRE Miner 16nm PreOrder on: January 13, 2015, 02:07:27 AM

So at this point I am sure that there will be no TO considering the lawsuit.

I don't really understand who is the winner. Anyone explain?

maybe not... hes put price up... git.... if you can read this drop the price and i will have 3hrs

From where are you renting the hashrate?
920  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner BE300S Samples Arrived, <0.2W/G Achieved at Board Level on: January 12, 2015, 04:31:16 PM
so? no news good news?
FC late login today.
It would be nice to hear some word from FC, atleast we would know that he didn't died at "drawing board" Wink
We know that sample chips works better than expected, string design also works, so propably next news will be announcment of new product. Prisma 3.0?
The expected date of first batch is April 10 to April 30. Potential delay will be notified three months ahead.
Hashrate per device and power consumption:
  Normal mode - 1.0TH/s guaranteed. 1.6TH/s maximum. 0.25-0.27W/G.
  Turbo mode - 1.2TH/s guaranteed. 2.0TH/s maximum. 0.30-0.33W/G.

this is a update

Where is the 24 chip board?
