41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining motherboard - Onda B250 BTC-D8P - Anyone tried ? on: February 23, 2018, 11:50:04 PM
I have one of these boards and it will only detect 3 GPUs no matter which slots I use.
The setup is using a 1600 EVGA PSU, 5x RX480x, I also tested with RX 580s same issue. It is weird, all the molex and SATA power connections are plugged in and operational.
16gb of Ram and an i5 CPU.
Boots fine yet only 3 of the GPUs power up. The rest do not power on. I have tested with 3 PSUs same results.

Anyone have any ideas?

That is very cool. 5 years. Congratulations. I hope for 50 more.

Hello NASTY MINING followers!

This is my first post here but I am not new to NASTY MINING. I participate from the beginning. GLBSE was fun but now it is time to stop pretending to play Wall Street. OgNasty is a great person and the NASTY MINING operation is cool. All of us have fun following and supporting and advising the mining operation in the exciting Bitcoin world. It is time we organize our enthusiasm and efforts for NASTY MINING instead of playing GLBSE.

I know OgNasty for a long time and give technical help sometimes. When GLBSE died I decided to organize the NASTY MINING fans so we continue having fun. I created a website to run a unofficial fanclub. I showed the website and OgNasty said it is very cool. It is still young but I think the other fans will have fun with it also.

OgNasty gives me a copy of the NASTY MINING GLBSE list. I use this to setup fanclub member accounts. But you must activate your account and set a username and passsword. I will send e-mail to you with instructions.

After we convert the GLBSE users to NASTY MINING fanclub members I will open the fanclub to the general public. Then other enthusiastic NASTY MINING supporters can join the fanclub.

I am active in the forum now because I have important resposibilities so we stay together now. I am excited about the new unofficial fanclub. I am excited about NASTY MINING. This is fun!

Happy Birthday to NastyFans!  5 years and running.  It has been one hell of a ride!  I can't wait to see where we are in another 5 years.

Remember the Prisma miners that would not start as the temps got colder. Could not even run them in the winter in the lab here. Had to bring them inside.

By the way a bit of interesting info on miner problems: I've been working on A6 and 741 type miners and I've noticed something interesting. Failures seem to result in chips that look like this:

If you look carefully you will see the solder bridge that formed around the middle of the side of the chip due to solder extrusion. This is caused by defective manufacturing and way too much heat on the chip. These can open up with heat, which may be why R4's and such need heat to get them running sometimes.

Never dull in miner-land. I'm not sure if this can be fixed by running miners slower, but it is interesting.

Frustrating everything else works great on CentOS 7 except for Claymore Cryptonote miner. I cannot get that openssl error to resolve.

It is installed, I checked the version and it is
Quote
openssl version
OpenSSL 1.0.1e-fips 11 Feb 2013
I am not sure what is causing XMR mining to not work.

I tried it and on CentOS I am getting a strange error I don't get with the Eth or Zec Claymore miners. It is odd as everything is in there ok.

Quote
./nsgpucnminer: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Here is my bash file.

Quote
./nsgpucnminer -xpool -stratum+tcp://xmr-usa.dwarfpool.com:8005 -u redacted -p x

I am sure I am missing something simple, I have been staring at terminals all day. LOL

I've just uploaded v10.2 for Linux.
You need to install openssl 1.0.0

What settings are you using? My Vega 64 is stuck at 980. If I enable 8gb memory it goes down to 570.
Really weird.

Whats your HashRate with Vega Huh
i see only with rx 480 / rx 580

Thanks

Currently getting 1120 H/s with vega64.  Not using the blockchain drivers yet.  RAM 1100, GPU 1500.

I am getting in the 690 range instead of 730 range like you.

It does support them, make sure to download the Nvidia image.

I heard Simplemining doesn't support NVIDIA gpus, is that true?

Wanted to try the OS out, got a couple 1060s and a 1070.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: August 25, 2017, 09:51:36 PM
That is very helpful thank you.

Hi.
Anybody help me how i can mine xmr with rx 480?

user sgminer-gm v5.5.5 - NH

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: August 25, 2017, 12:57:41 AM
You need to use the sgminer-gm version as the Claymore version does not support RX cards. There are not many linux XMR clients out there it seems.

Anyone mining XMR on SimpleOS? I'm trying to get "claymore-xmr-v9.1" to work but always get an error message "GPU faluts". What miner do I have to use and what is the correct command line? My GPUs are RX480 and RX570. Thankss in advance.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: August 05, 2017, 10:05:20 PM
I have been looking around for a Linux client for XMR mining that can be added to Simple Mining that works with RX cards and above.
Has anyone had any luck with anything like that?
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: July 20, 2017, 04:24:22 AM
Usually that happens when something is overheating.  Check your temps.

Hi miners!

I play around with smOS since about 1 week.
managed to get the rig (4x 480 & 2x 580) running well but since the weekend i have a problem with claymore's dual miner.
after some time i have a hashrate drop of 1 card, the miner shows "GPU off"
if you wait a few hours this will be for nearly all cards, 5 of 6 are off.
Anybody with same problems?

in windows all is running fine, but i like smOS and don't want to change back to win if i don't have to.

Hope for answers

greets

56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: July 19, 2017, 06:17:47 AM
I like this OS a lot, super simple with robust features if you want to dig in.

One thing in my wish list which is nearly impossible would be a way to control the case fan header for fan speed from this.
Open air rigs there is not really an issue but with the GPU rack mount cases you need to be able to push the case fans higher to keep enough airflow so things do not overheat.
With Windows you can use MSI, Asus and others software to control them.  You can set to aggressive and turbo speed in the bios but that does not always work as well as being able to adjust on the fly. Yes you can add a fan control knob.  Still fun to think about having it in this OS.

Great job in this, well worth the fee and more.

That kicks ass. Congratulations on the hard work paying off.

Gunbot Sponsorship Announcement - Tesla Powerwall 2

Gunbot The Automatic Profit Generator for Kraken, Poloniex, Bittrex has sponsored NastyMining with the purchase of a Tesla Powerwall 2.  Having a battery backup will enable us to go "off the grid" with the ability to mine through power outages as well as allowing for us to store excess off-peak energy production to feed back into the grid at peak rates.  This is another great step forward for NastyMining, as we continue our quest to be a best in class socially responsible Bitcoin mining operation.

The Powerwall is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery stationary energy storage product manufactured by Tesla, Inc.  The Powerwall is intended to be used for home energy storage and stores electricity for solar self-consumption, time of use load shifting, backup power, and off-the-grid use.  The larger Powerpack is intended for commercial or electric utility grid use and can be used for peak shaving, load shifting, backup power, demand response, microgrids, renewable power integration, frequency regulation, and voltage control.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 13, 2017, 01:53:35 AM
I'm having the same issues, it may our may not see other rigs on the network. When it doesn't see them it usually will not ever pick them back up unless I delete and restart while adding in the rigs again. The previous version does not do this.

Claymore,
the problem with ETHMan 3.1 + Dualminer 9.5
If some rig go down, and then after some time goes up, it dosent restore in ETHMan, on screenshot you see that miner restarted and work, i launched web console and it works already 2 minutes, but ETHMan still show "lost ****". Even after 10 minutes ETHMan dosent see rig. So as it was with ETHMan 3.0, I need restart it to see all rigs stats again.

If you included cryptography and https, then maybe here some trouble with ssl? need to update certificate if connection was lost?

Can confirm this, same problem here.
The last update of EthMan improved the 100% lock after a warning, but a rig which was offline and comes back up is not (always?) shown as alive until EthMan is restarted.
Also the batch action is still not retriggered in case of a persisting failure.

I spent half a day in attempts to reproduce it, but it works fine for me, weird. If you can 100% reproduce this issue I can prepare debug version with logging and send it to you so I can get more info. PM me if you want to participate.
Retriggering: if a rig was lost, BAT file will be executed. If rig is back again and then again will be lost, BAT will be executed again. What's wrong exactly?

What a bummer, both have been around a long time.
Thanks for running them so long.
Do you have new projects in the works?

Yes, both will be closed on 2017-04-28. Please remove your miners.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.2 (Windows/Linux) on: April 23, 2017, 08:12:39 PM
Thank you for the update.
Nice work on keeping so many clients updated.

I had not much time for testing due to urgent DCR fix, just noticed slowdown for Polaris on Linux. It is because OpenCL reports that it has 14 compute units (CUs) instead of 36. You can fix it by using undocumented option: specify "-eqlim 288". 288 = CUs * 8. I hate this magic, so I'm working on next update that will have good hashrates with 100% stable mining speed on both Windows and Linux. Just wait a few days.
