I purchased one from him.  He did a great job.  The hologram looks great on it and everything was very secure.
Thanks again Og.
602  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS/WTT] 3D Printed---R-Pi Cases---BlackArrow-BB cases---Figurines/Models +MORE on: August 11, 2014, 09:21:30 PM
Nice, remember to let me know when you are set with it.

Hi, I hope all is well.  Any news on the RPi case with the fan?
I am looking forward to them.

Just got my fan yesterday but I may have purchased too small of a fan...this thing measures 17mm x 17mm x 8mm but spins @11k rpm, so maybe it will suffice. I went with a fan that was readily available and fairly low price but also had good reviews for reliability etc.

I will be posting some pics up tonight/tomorrow after I test the fan some.

RPi is a fanless device, why would you need a fan for Raspberry Pi?

A custom request was made for an R-Pi case with a fan mount so I stepped up and sourced parts to design a case for such need.
603  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Interview with Dogie, Master Miner and Trusted Tester For All Manufacturers on: August 11, 2014, 09:19:06 PM
Definitely.
They keep going as well.
His original block eruptor guide still gets hits and info posted to it.

Dogie seems like a great guy, and his guides are perfect. I've used them to set up a couple devices already. Smiley
604  Economy / Services / Re: We are looking for Writers and Journalists on: August 11, 2014, 07:19:56 PM
There is a co-author setup we use for multiple authors for one article.
I am not sure how the payouts work on it as I am just starting a joint article now and have not published yet.
I will let you know how it goes.
David is very fair on payouts and making sure we are all set.

bmp=bump

Is this opportunity still available? I would be glad to write for .04-.05 BTC/article which converts to $20-$25/article (edited by English expert: user "Ranlo"). PM me or e-mail me at phooshy123@gmail.com Let's see if we can work something out. Smiley

How would that work with SP and myself working together? Does he apply for both?

606  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Petition to sticky Dogies manufacturer trustworthiness guide!! on: August 10, 2014, 03:26:47 AM
I had a faulty unit as well.  I cannot say if it was shipping damage or not but I did have one DOA.
That being said CrazyGuy and BTC Garden were great and got it replaced ASAP.

The only thing I can say here is that nothing stops a company from sending Dogie a unit that works really well and then still not shipping to their customers after they build hype if Dogie likes it.

There's also the opposite where a companies reputation is hugely affected by sending a faulty testing unit or none at all.

For example btcgarden has zero complaints as far as I can tell yet somehow dogie managed to get the only faulty unit and poor communication.

Point is something so debatable shouldn't be stickied, especially when biases are to be expected.
607  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Interview with Dogie, Master Miner and Trusted Tester For All Manufacturers on: August 09, 2014, 08:26:02 PM
He is one of the most genuine people I have been able to talk to.
Really solid and straight forward.

Nice interview.  You can tell he was very candid with his comments just like here on the forums.  Not trying to mince his words.
608  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Interview with Dogie, Master Miner and Trusted Tester For All Manufacturers on: August 09, 2014, 08:22:46 PM
I agree.
He does a great job.
I have an SP30 and my review is done I am just waiting to interview Zvisha any time now to publish it.
Dogie does such great guides I hope the community and manufacturers can support him more.  He does so much for us all.

Spondoolies was supposed to send more review units of the SP30, but since it became only one, there was only one person to send it to, and happily it was Dogie.

(I was at the bottom of the short list, but meh....)
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner 3.3 w/Remoting: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: August 09, 2014, 08:18:13 PM
Thanks Nate.
I have all of my hash rate back on X11.
I am trying to figure out what to send you on GitHub to show my multiple reporting of networked miners and odd naming issue.  There is no error msg other than the other results.

MultiMiner 3.3.2 is now available with the following changes:

  • Effective Hashrate is now calculated for all miner backends
  • Tool bar & menu items have been simplified
  • Brief Mode is no longer the default for new users
  • Fixed ZeusMiner ASICs treated as SHA2 by Auto-Mining Strategies
  • Restored availability of LBSPHSGMiner for X11 and X13 (users report improved performance over AZNSGMiner)
  • Duplicate coin information is now removed from Coin API data
  • It is no longer possible to create duplicate coin configurations by editing existing configurations

If you have any feature requests or issues please log them here:

Happy mining!  Grin
610  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Interview with Dogie, Master Miner and Trusted Tester For All Manufacturers on: August 09, 2014, 04:21:53 AM
I agree.
I was so happy he agreed to it and as I have gotten to know him more he is a brilliant guy.  I appreciate everything he does for us all.

Dogie is a great guy and very knowledgeable, nice article.  Thumbs up...

611  Bitcoin / Mining / Interview with Dogie, Master Miner and Trusted Tester For All Manufacturers on: August 09, 2014, 12:17:38 AM
I got to interview our own Dogie.  He was gracious enough to take the time for the interview.
He is someone who helps us all so much no matter if you are a miner or a manufacturer.  Dogie helps elevate mining and inform everyone.
I hope you all enjoy the interview I know I did.

What is your favorite miner currently and what is your favorite all time?
My favorite miner at the moment is the RockMiner R-Box. It’s specifically designed to be the ‘everyone can have one’ device of this generation, and it is really simple. A single PCB, two-custom heatsinks, 4 long screws and fan.
My favorite of all time was the Antminer S1, not particularly because of the machine itself, but because what Bitmain did. There were no preorders; they simply came into the market and said “we have miners; we have lots of miners.” They singlehandedly gave consumers an alternative to the high-risk preorder market that we’ve seen fail time and time again.

612  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 08, 2014, 04:22:26 PM
Yes the front mount ears were on as well as a separate set of rear mount ears in case you have a 4 post rack.
They work well and fit standard 2 post and 4 post racks.
I do suggest using a 4 post rack though just due to weight.

Hello, for those who already received the SP30, does it bring the rack mount ears?
thx

It is fun mining I really love it.
I hope that he does not close the pool because if NY.  It is the best pool.  I will be lost without it.

Very cool.
How is the final placement going to go?
It looks like a great setup for the BTC Gardens.  GPIO was something I have been thinking of I had not decided yet.  Very interested in how it goes with your setup.

Very cool.
I have a Pi B+ that is being sent to me this week.  I am excited you have all the case sets I need.

Stoked!!!

I will be posting info and pics for the R-Pi B+ cases tonight! Finally ready for production.

Taking pics with my crappy cam and posting soon...was a late night in the garage.

Just placed an order for the last part needed for my R-Pi fan case....I cannot sell the cases without testing them myself!

Parts list:
Adafruit Micro Lipo-USB LiIon/LiPoly charger
https://www.adafruit.com/products/1304

Evercool EC1708M05C fan
http://www.evercool.com.tw/categories/global/fan/dcfan/ec-1708/ec1708.html

Code:
EC1708M05C model
5 volts
0.08 amps
0.4 watts
11000 rpm
0.6 cfm
0.1 press. ("/h2o)
<15 dBA

The Adafruit charger will be for use with units currently using the GPIO (BTCGarden miners etc)...otherwise I am going to use Male to Female jumper wires (http://www.adafruit.com/products/824) and wire the fan directly to the R-Pi GPIO. If anyone can source/make USB A male to JST female cables that would be sweet and the preferred route over the Adafruit charger.

617  Bitcoin / Mining / Mining Community And CryptoCause Come Together To Help A Fellow Miner on: August 06, 2014, 06:26:16 PM
HI Everyone
Dr Paul is a fellow miner and posted a moving statement asking for help on HashTalk.
The community has responded with a http://cryptocause.org/ fundraiser that is selling miners at a discount to help him out.
If any of you are looking for miners or just want to help him out please do.
Here is also the article with more info.

This week the mining community responded with a plea for help from a fellow miner. ‘Dr Paul’ as he goes by in the HashTalk forums, has a very serious heart condition and requires an electric golf cart so that he can travel to his doctors and therapy sessions. When he asked for help, the response was wonderful. At first, people simply offered to donate to him, but then a member of Viturrex setup a CryptoCause sale for him with GAWMiners giving special prices on their miners so they could raise money for Dr Paul.

Fundraising is something that, as humans, we should do for each other. People asking for help like this, do not often go unheard in the Bitcoin community as they do in the “real” world. Dr Paul’s fellow miners have stepped up as well as a major vendor like GAWMiners. More vendors and manufacturers are welcomed as well. Dr Paul and other miners have committed to setup more fundraisers to help those in need once this project is over. What is being done here is literally a lifeline for Dr Paul.

This looks like a promising kit.
The Pi cases of all types look great.

R-Pi B+ model case pics and payment addresses posted

More new product pics/info coming asap!
I'll be tackling a lid design for these guys...just finished assembly of my Adafruit 16x2 LCD R-Pi display awhile ago.

619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera v0.3.4] Your next mining dashboard is here. CPUminer/CGminer/BFGminer. on: August 04, 2014, 05:55:47 AM
Have you tried the clock speed at 200 for minera?
Start there and see if it behaves any better.

Updated to the new version 0.3.4, used the superuser option. Still having the same problem with my ZEUS thunder X6. Only getting 6mh and 89 % error rate.

As extra options I use  --zeus-chips 128 --zeus-clock 230

When I use it through windows with the zeus cgminer fork it works fine on a vardif pool. getttings 18 / 22 mhs

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://X -u X -p X  --scan-serial //./COM3  --zeus-chips 128 --zeus-clock 200
pause

I have no idea anymore.  LOL
How about a new one.
If we knew the meaning of life would we be any happier?

For the same reason that there is no need to care about it. You do know that right?
It could be but who cares?
Don't you know it won't matter when the USD crash and people suffer?
Do you know that something is not a question just because you put a question mark at the end?
Do you think that perhaps, someone is leveling up all his accounts in the same thread?
why would I not care about this?
Sorry, I am confused, what was the question again?
