41  Other / Meta / Re: signature campaign BITMIXER on: June 27, 2016, 07:36:29 PM
This right here is a clear example of the level of intelligence on this forum. Lauda is the only person who is on topic period besides the OP.

Bitmixer uses a bot for those of you who care. Its an extremely lazy way to run a campaign and doesn't control spam at all. Just does a character count basically. Someone should compile a list and send to Marco and if he fails to control the issue then ban hammer heaven

err... I don't think marcotheminer manages bitmixer sig campaign.
42  Economy / Reputation / Re: user Knightkon asking for positive trust trought pm on: June 27, 2016, 06:02:48 PM
I'm pretty sure it's allowed but is frowned upon. especially when the one who's asking for trust was not actually trusted with anything. I don't think he'll get a negative for that, if that's what you're asking (might be wrong). it looks like that user already got a neutral for that in the past, anyway.
43  Economy / Lending / Re: Need A Loan of 0.03 on: June 27, 2016, 03:12:14 PM
What if i gave all identity info

identification is also not a valid collateral. it's written right there on the post Atomical linked.
44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is gambling worth to try for newbie? on: June 27, 2016, 01:53:40 PM
is gambling worth to try for me?

you're asking a question which doesn't have an actual answer unless you tell us what you want/expecting to get by gambling.

or it can be double edge for me?

absolutely. this is true for everyone.
45  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Sending a message with a transactions on: June 27, 2016, 01:28:03 PM
there's no reliable way to send a message with bitcoin transaction. unless you wanna use the OP_return script which have a limit of 80 bytes of hex characters.

edit (someone replied with this but the post is gone.):
there's the blockchain.info transaction note, but those notes can only be seen using bc.i's explorer.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh Fuck! - This asshole published my private key! on: June 26, 2016, 11:26:08 PM
I think it is just fake private key, because if it is true many people will be lost their money and there are not people who will use bitcoin. Keep be calm.

you think? I know they are real. but the probability of getting an address with bitcoins in it is next to zero.
There are how many pages on the site again? With how many addresses on each page? How high do you think the odds are for someone to get an address with something in it?

It all comes down to how much time someone wants to dedicate to this, but it should be nearly impossible for anyone to actually get your key if you don't publish it.

that's exactly what I meant by almost zero chance of getting any bitcoin addresses with balance. I was only correcting the guy who thinks that those private keys are fake.

oh. it's 904625697166532776746648320380374280100293470930272690489102837043110636675 page with 128 addresses each btw. far surpasses the 1461501637330902918203684832716283019655932542976 mark. which means that there's a room for lots of address collision (which is even more improbable.).

48  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am new to bitcoin community. Want to learn how to sign a message. on: June 26, 2016, 10:47:07 AM
the tutorial with full steps.
49  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: June 22, 2016, 12:16:07 AM
Intro:
Note: Blockchain.info's new wallet does not allow you to sign a message, nor does it allow you to easily export the private key in order to sign with a different wallet. There is a crude work around here -> https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-2l6xOqcbjs9QWEqSh72RD1d8EEdvG_hQuEXw_f_o6w/edit
Use at your own risk!

I think this is kinda outdated now as the new wallet now has all the old functions up and running.
Yes you can sign with the new wallet ATM.

Good luck

hmm... I don't see the option to sign a message with and view the private keys of the new addresses anywhere... only imported addresses.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I would like to make money helping others cash in their bitcoin profits on: June 21, 2016, 09:10:49 PM
you'll need to be a little more specific on this assisting process. are you going to sell their bitcoins for them or act as a mediator between the seller and the buyer or what?
51  Economy / Exchanges / Re: WTF? Huge Coinbase Error on: June 21, 2016, 01:05:20 AM
you'll have to take this to their support and not here. there's nothing much we can do about a service problem. just make sure that you're not hacked. oh, read too quick didn't see that it was just a text error.
52  Economy / Speculation / Re: Well this has been a goddamn stressful 30 minutes on: June 21, 2016, 12:40:34 AM
looks like china is finished with the quick dump. up we go and fuck finex for the moment.
53  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: full node on: June 19, 2016, 07:21:02 PM
look at some node stats like this (that's shorena's.). it's a good way to know how much bandwidth you'll be using. if your upload speed is around 400~500KB/s then you're good to go.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Get rid of unconfirmed transaction - already 30 hours on: June 18, 2016, 02:40:45 PM
- snip -
2. Starting Bitcoin-Qt with -zapwallettex option like this: exec /Applications/Bitcoin-Qt.app/Contents/MacOS/Bitcoin-Qt -zapwallettex
- snip -
Transactions are still there and getting broadcasted. I hope you can help me!

It should be -zapwallettxes and you have mistyped it as -zapwallettex, and that's why your unconfirmed transaction is still there in your wallet. For your reference: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin#Command-line_arguments

I feel so stupid. Thank you very much! It's working as expected now Cheesy

Edit: How long will it take others to forget about the previous transactions? My current (new) transaction is declined by the network as double spent.

give it another 18-40 hours.
55  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum not broadcasting transaction on: June 17, 2016, 01:03:35 PM
it was rejected as double spend because the inputs are being used on another existing transaction. 1FRF1ccWNKFuv83RCcA5G5D2ok4RXdCuy7 should be the change address.
56  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How will I know how big my transaction fee will be in Electrum 2.6.4 ? on: June 16, 2016, 11:12:46 PM
that's a lot of questions.

Quote
i don't mind paying the fee, but I want to know how big it will be. I know it is determined in mBTC/kB but how many kB will a transaction be? How can I determine it?

the size of transactions are calculated "by adding up all the bytes necessary to create the transaction". so it can be very hard to calculate it manually. you can however get a rough estimate by using this[1] formula.

Quote
And what happens if I withdraw all my BTC from my wallet? I cannot have a negative balance, so will my payment order be diminished? Does it always happen this way?

if you withdraw all btc you'll be left with 0 balance. electrum won't allow you to send btc if you don't have enough balance. you can't get negative balance.
don't even know what you mean by "always happen this way"... have you experienced it?

Quote
And most importantly - if I want to make a payment of a precise amount, will it be affected? How do I ensure that the desired amount is being transferred from my wallet if I don't know the fees?

what you enter in the "amount" box doesn't include the fee. the fee is deducted separately from what's left in your balance.
you can view electrum's estimated fee before you send anything by ticking the "Set transaction fees manually" option from preferences. electrum will still suggest what fee you should use even if you have that option on.

[1] input*148 + output*34 + 10 . this can get really off-target for transactions with lots of inputs and outputs.
57  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum does not sign a message on: June 16, 2016, 09:41:46 PM
This is the error

-pic-

it's not possible signing a multisig address (address that begins with 3.) with electrum.

Ohhh thank you Cheesy
How to proceed? I really need to prove the ownership of the address, will the bitcoin core wallet let me sign it?

no. afaik there's no wallet around that can do this. shorena might know something about it.
58  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum does not sign a message on: June 16, 2016, 09:25:09 PM

59  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum does not sign a message on: June 16, 2016, 09:11:14 PM
what version are you using? and on the second box of the sign message window, does it say address or public key? if it says public key then you are on the wrong menu. nvm there's no sign button on ecrypt/decrypt tool.
60  Economy / Speculation / Re: $800 tomorrow? on: June 16, 2016, 07:51:58 PM
I'll stay pessimistic and say no. the price have been going opposite of my mind since it hit $600.
