63  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Pending transaction on Electrum 1.9.4. What's happening? on: June 16, 2016, 01:23:05 PM
can't find it anywhere. make sure that you're connected to a server (indicated by the green circle on the bottom right.).

I would suggest updating electrum to latest version. just be double sure that you have the seed and private keys.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: TX Stuck... What to do? on: June 15, 2016, 07:12:22 PM
HI,

I have a transaction that has been unconfirmed for hours. What can I do? Tried to raise TX fee via mobile app but still no luck (Standard Android Bitcoin Wallet)

https://blockchain.info/tx/98145462ec744ced6e0ba38d02ed26d5e8ba02eb7bb75058ad31e500110e5fe9

Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

you can only wait. I'm sure that tx will be confirmed soon. the fee you sent is a little low.

edit:
by soon, I mean <30 <60 blocks. (math error)
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0 confirmations after several days - BTC gone? on: June 15, 2016, 03:29:43 PM
OP's transaction have been double spended by https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/9300574b89f3e28f4b0c8d7417124834f0e30fc75117b8e479913f350f0e34a1/ . this thread is from 2 freaking weeks ago so I'm guessing there's no need to reply further.

Well, blockchain often not shows it but even blockr.io is not showing it ... strange.

it's normal. it means both explorers have dropped the tx from their mempool.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you "manipulate" the price of bitcoin? on: June 15, 2016, 03:21:43 PM
there are actually many ways to do that. but most off them are expensive and you'll most likely lose money instead of getting profit. because to get profit you'll need to buy low and sell high enough to cover your expenses.
the ones with little to no expenses depends entirely on your luck.
67  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: June 15, 2016, 02:12:49 PM
Considering each BTC costs so much these days, do the donator requirements (green for 10BTC, purple for 50BTC) still hold?

yes.

agree it maybe if the donation only 0.1btc i will do it

you can donate 0.1BTC if you want. the 10/50 are just for getting donator/vip status.
68  Other / Meta / Re: Happy Birthday, Theymos! on: June 15, 2016, 01:38:37 PM

69  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed out of almost .33BtC from Satoshi Dice on: June 14, 2016, 09:21:13 PM
However, after I tried to transfer the remaining balance I got an orange banner telling me of an insufficient hot wallet balance (everything from .00000x available to equations like 9e-013.

hot wallet refers to the address/wallet services uses to pay their customers. sometimes hot wallet run out of bitcoins and the service will need time to refill them. so you'll just have to wait. that is unless you've waited for more than 6 hours.

This one has very less fees indeed.0.0001 that is sort of less for a 11BTC transaction. You could have at least added the fees as big as 0.02-0.10.Though there is not a certain reason as theoretically explained but paying underflow amounts would result in delayed confirmations.Though the transaction will get confirmed I can't assure how much time it would take, maybe 5 hours ,maybe 2 days. All you can do is wait.

firstly, that transaction is not getting confirmed because it is spending an input from the other no-fee tx which is still unconfirmed. not because of the fee (which is actually high enough.).
secondly, the amount of bitcoins being sent have nothing to do with the fee.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Torrent of the Bitcoin Blockchain on: June 12, 2016, 10:04:25 PM
Does anyone have a torrent of the Bitcoin Blockchain that they could send?
Or any way of sending the blockchain over the internet inorder to speed up my initial syncronisation.
I've been told that it may be slower downloading it this way but want to try anyway and at least have a copy of the blockchain.

you mean like this one?

Thanks "--Encrypted--"
Do you know if that is updated regularly or if it is slightly outdated.
I thought the blockchain was around 80/90GB now instead of the 70 that it is said to be on there?

It's from 4th june. it's written on the post and file. so yeah, it's outdated. you'll have to download the rest of the blockchain.
72  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.6.4 on XP on: June 12, 2016, 09:41:57 PM
windows xp is no longer supported by electrum. you can either upgrade your OS (recommended) or use older versions. I think 2.5.4 works on windows XP.

Ok thanks so mucho for the info  Grin Grin

actually forget that post. I deleted it (too late) after searching around and couldn't find where I read it. there's nothing on github either.

It's just that some users have trouble installing the new versions on windows xp. older versions should work fine. posting the error message here might help.

74  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: New blockchain wallet does NOT support paper wallets? on: June 12, 2016, 08:52:27 PM
The OP said that someone sent him some bitcoins, like "someone send me funds to my blockchain there are 105 conformations now and still there is 0 balance in my wallet". So it looks to me like he got his btc from someone to his address 1HkJKLwAiDDBAZFWoftaZoJXQMryHewUUe

I suppose that xpub is something along the lines of public key? Then if he has private key, he can restore his public key with private? Sorry for the stupid questions though.

xpub is public key. in this case it's the master public key of your generated wallets (means that all new address should be generated from the xpub.).

he can send his bitcoins to another address if he get the private key, but that's not possible because the new bc.i wallet doesn't have the UI to show the private keys of the newly generated addresses.
only way to get the private keys of the newly generated addresses is completely reliant to the xpub (but the address is not generated from any xpub.).

PS. Anyhow, I suppose it's better to use bitaddress.org to generate new wallet.

that's true, I guess.
75  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: New blockchain wallet does NOT support paper wallets? on: June 12, 2016, 08:31:18 PM
Thank you, this worked!

As to the thread you pointed to I looked at this guys account and it seems like his transaction is now ok. Though I didn't understand what the issue was and how using the desktop client would save him from this.

the issue in that thread hasn't been fixed yet as far as I know. and the actual issue is not the transaction.
it appears bc.i wallet generated an address which doesn't belong to any xpub of your wallet accounts. as a result, the OP of that thread can't spend the bitcoins. and he can't export the private key it too.

the address in question is this one. the bitcoins haven't been moved.
76  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: New blockchain wallet does NOT support paper wallets? on: June 12, 2016, 08:13:07 PM
you can import private keys from Settings => Addresses => Imported Addresses | Manage Addresses => Import Address. though moving to desktop wallets are always recommended.

and here's a reason to stop using bc.i. don't wait till it happen to you.
77  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 6.91 btc gone at okcoin.cn ? on: June 12, 2016, 06:40:32 PM

78  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello friends.. new guy here! on: June 12, 2016, 06:26:57 PM
don't invest in cloud mining. they're mostly fake —ponzi schemes in disguise— and will scam you sooner or later. the supposedly legit ones are too damn unprofitable and it might take more than a year for you to reach ROI.
79  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: What to set transaction fee? on: June 12, 2016, 06:23:05 PM
So I set my fee as less than the default for Electrum wallet. I believe .1mbtc per 1kb and the blockchain would not confirm it for a long time. Isn't that enough of fee? It seems the default fee is pretty expensive. How are exchanges able to send with fees as low as .00002 and get confirmations?

.3mbtc per kb should be enough to get your transaction confirmed fast.
default fee is 0.0005 (0.5mbtc) per kb, right? that's not at all expensive IMO.

for the exchanges .00002 fee you speak of, I won't know unless you post the txid. but even then they might have their own miners that will always include their transactions.
80  Economy / Speculation / Re: I locked the profit - SOLD ALL COINS on: June 12, 2016, 05:53:55 PM
Roll Eyes you've been preaching over and over about expensive bitcoins yet still have some to sell?

Sold all today.  Opened shorts at 645-650.

enjoy your profit then. don't regret not holding it when the price reach a new ATH, now.  Tongue

@2015bubble
whoa, dude. what the hell?
