641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why transactions are taking too long ? on: March 02, 2016, 02:33:31 PM
looks like people are paying a higher fee now. this is good (IMO).
many third party services are still paying a fixed fee of .0001 or .0002 for every transaction though. and their tx usually have multiple inputs.
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please help - 2 unconfirmed transactions even though fees paid on: March 02, 2016, 02:23:51 PM
Thanks guys.

Just got an email from Blockchain to say that the 2 transactions (one incoming, one outgoing) have been rejected.  BUT it has automatically done a resend!!!!  Arggghhh.....if fees were an issue last time then they would be an issue this time as well.  What I would have wanted was to have done a manual outgoing transaction.  I just checked the Network Propagation 3% - 11 Nodes - (Very Poor).

Is there any way I can stop a rebroadcast in future?

anyone can rebroadcast your tx but if you say stop then they should stop (I think I may have been the one who rebroadcasted the first tx.. not sure but sorry anyway.). just wait more days until the mempool drops the tx again.
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please help - 2 unconfirmed transactions even though fees paid on: March 02, 2016, 01:58:37 PM
that tx spends an input from this tx which is still unconfirmed. you'll need to wait for the first tx to confirm before the second one does.

the first tx have very low fee so it probably will take a long time to confirm. that is if someone keeps re-broadcasting it.

edit:
oh they're gone.
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transactions for many hours on: March 01, 2016, 11:24:38 PM
But i am still seeing it on blockchain by clicking on the links!!

So will they not confirm and it will take time to confirm?

blockchain.info still have it but some other explorers rejected it (some still have the tx.).
it can still be confirmed as long as there's someone rebroadcasting it.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transactions for many hours on: March 01, 2016, 10:45:59 PM
Actually i told the buyer to make the payment with fee. He did one with fee again and neither one is confirmed!!

Does anyone know how much more time it can take? or someone can rebroadcast it

well yeah that's because he spent the change from the first tx. the second tx you posted will not be confirmed before the first.

don't know how long it will take. but it was sent about 3 days ago so it shouldn't take too long (no promises).
I'll broadcast it every 30 minutes or so. you can do it too, read my post here.

EDIT:
ARGH some explorer rejected it. transaction was rejected by network rules (66: mempool min fee not met).  Undecided
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transactions for many hours on: March 01, 2016, 10:30:02 PM
this is your 3rd thread about unconfirmed transaction... didn't you learn anything from the previous threads?

well ok. you did pay the fee for the second transaction. but that tx spends an input from the first transaction which is still unconfirmed and have no fee.

edit:
oh, there's another tx in between the txes that was posted. that tx have fees just like the second tx.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pending payments on: March 01, 2016, 07:14:38 PM
where can i get the raw hash for another transaction?
i have 2 pending ones
this is the other one

note the "?format=hex". for core 0.12 just right click on the transaction. no idea how to do that on older version and other wallets.

649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What should the txn fee for a 1550 byte transaction be? on: March 01, 2016, 06:45:43 PM
by the way that part about blockchain showing the tx as high priority just because of the high fee are bull. the priority calculation doesn't have the fee on it.
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What should the txn fee for a 1550 byte transaction be? on: March 01, 2016, 06:37:45 PM
However, can anyone confirm or deny my maths on the fee for this txn?

.00062000 ~ .00077500 (40~50 satoshi per byte). or 1mbtc if you want to be sure. but 20~30 satoshi per byte shouldn't take more than 10 blocks.
651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pending payments on: March 01, 2016, 06:23:19 PM
that's chinese to me mate Smiley what can i do ?

that's basically the long version of your tx. you can broadcast them using this method to these sites (or just from your wallet. core does this automatically for unconfirmed transactions.).
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fee Is Going Crazy !?!? on: March 01, 2016, 06:03:26 PM
Today i sent more than one transaction with 0.0002 btc fee and it was confirmed on next block. I don't see a big problem with that, the bigger group of unconfirmed transactions had a low or a very low fee.

Perhaps you were just lucky getting your fee through when you did. Ive not tried sending any myself but by looking at the backlog you would need to put quite a large fee to get confirmed.

fee of .0002 or whatever is actually kind of vague without knowing the transaction size. for all we know he sent a 225 byte tx and/or have over 57,600,000 priority. if his tx meets one of these criteria then it shouldn't take very long to confirm.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help- 2 Unconfirmed transactions on: March 01, 2016, 05:47:10 PM
Sorry you are not the only one right now. Bottleneck and people are actually paying higer fees to try to get their tx confirmed. I read that guaranteed fees to deliver a tx are 0.0044 BTC at this moment.

that's a ridiculously high fee for ordinary transaction with normal size. 50 satoshi per byte or around 0.0005BTC per KB should be enough to get all transaction below 1KB confirmed very fast. 20~ spb is good enough.

Obviously it is more than enough, but the circumstances are unique right now. You can see some tx with high fees that are still not going thru. Some people are getting lucky and some are not.

no I'm not seeing them. I haven't seen anyone complaining about their 50spb fee tx not going through. and I can't find any either. there's a thread about that FUD article here if you're interested.
(if you're going to reply to this post, reply there. I quoted my post on the first page.)
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pending payments on: March 01, 2016, 05:22:03 PM
you can post the tx here so that we can help you rebroadcast it if you can't afford to let the mempool drop the tx and returns the btc to the sender.

I must've missed it or you edited your post. either way here's the raw for that.

raw tx edited out. don't like seeing that long thing on my latest posts. it's quoted below.
655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fee Is Going Crazy !?!? on: March 01, 2016, 04:56:04 PM
tch.

that's a ridiculously high fee for ordinary transaction with normal size. 50 satoshi per byte or around 0.0005BTC per KB should be enough to get all transaction below 1KB confirmed very fast. 20~ spb is good enough.

whoever wrote that thing have no proof to back their statement.

EDIT:
well I've read it again and more thoroughly this time and looks like they are exaggerating the normal fee. it was .0001 and not 0.001

if your english is not very good, please ask these kinds of questions in the local board of your country to avoid all kinds of confusion... I'm sure they will be more helpful.

what a load of bullshit. just a stupid extortioner who spouts everything without giving a slight proof that they know something.
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Cancel Transaction because of fee = 0? on: March 01, 2016, 02:38:23 PM
hi,

thanks for the quick help.

the transaction id is: a4a2f6f82b1fe40732af81f13cc62ea315bfb9eb3d20b0a804cbef9d0e260f45-000
i canīt find anything on blockchain.
i am not sure if itīs safe to post the bitcoin address here.

don't worry the only thing that's not safe to post is your wallet seed and private keys of your addresses. it's safe to post tx ids and address in public.

Quote
if i follow the steps shorena posted - should i safe the wallet somewhere before?
yes. always back up your wallet.dat before doing anything to it.

Quote
@encrypted  how long u guess until the blockchain forgets the transaction?
hours? days? weeks?
that depends. if no one else is rebroadcasting your tx then it should be forgotten in a day or two.

Quote
does it make sense to delete the transaction and wait until blockchain forgets it to send a new transfer
yes. that's exactly what you should do.

Quote
how long could the transaction without fee take? days? weeks? months?
depends on it's priority and the state of the mempool. shouldn't take more than few weeks if you keep rebroadcasting it.

Quote
and also i would like to know if the issue with fees is new!?
i traded some bitcoins 4-5 years ago. i donīt remember fees being an issue back then.
well the issue is not exactly the fee. it's just there's a huge number of unconfirmed transactions waiting in the mempool since yesterday and to get past that quickly you'll need to pay a higher fee.

so i safe my wallet and follow the steps shorena posted;
then i have to wait approximately 24 hours until the blockchain forgets the transcation.

and the bitcoins will appaer in my wallet again?
is this right?

right.

edit:
looks like your tx got dropped already.

edit2:

For one this ^ and the other thing is that with 0.12 there is a certain time after which TX get dropped from mempool and the default 300 MB limit (which is easily hit with the current number of TX). Id have to look it up, but usually you get a pretty high "forgotten" rate after 24 hours, because not all nodes run 24 hours (e.g. most home run nodes are rebooted after that time).

oh yeah. the memory pool limiting. didn't understand how that works until I read this.
660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Cancel Transaction because of fee = 0? on: March 01, 2016, 01:49:11 PM
#2 remove the unconfirmed transaction from your wallet (more below) and wait another 24 hours so the rest of the network had a chance to forget about it.
Something I don't understand, doesn't it take anywhere from 2-3 days to more than a week for the network to 'forget' the transaction?

core automatically rebroadcast existing unconfirmed transactions every 30 minutes or so. that means the network will not be able to forget the tx because core keep reminding nodes about the tx. so you'll need to close core until the tx gets dropped or remove the unconfirmed transactions from the client.
