41  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which sort of investor are you? on: February 12, 2024, 11:01:39 PM
Trading is difficult, decisions must be taken immediately and if you miss them the ending will be different. It's really like war, merciless and fast. From most of my trading records, there are still many losses compared to profits.

From this, I prefer investing in Bitcoin by long-term holding.
Trading is not difficult but it's strategic and the strategic aspect of it is what it's hard to understand or know beforehand due to the cryptocurrency market volatility in nature.
Yes, trading is like war because every trader is trading against the smartest, most wealthy, and most genius people in the market that can twist things to their favor.
42  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why we need to stay vigilant on: February 12, 2024, 09:59:16 PM
It is good to stay vigilant but what you just pointed out is not something new in the cryptocurrency sphere if I remember years ago some scammers also impersonated Binance on Telegram and a lot of people lost their life savings for it.
In the end. What's important is every cryptocurrency investor understands/knows the real cryptocurrency website and also understands how to detect phishing emails.
43  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which sort of investor are you? on: February 11, 2024, 11:56:48 PM

Well, op from the glance of things numerous people today in the trader’s world do not research themself before hopping into the trading world and, I guess this is very mistaken by the public.
Some traders didn't research the market before hopping into? Then they are gamblers not traders because there's no way genuine cryptocurrency traders will want to trade in the market and ignore the fundamental characteristic of crypto trading which is doing some research about the market and the possible next trend it will showcase.

44  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who knows ? on: February 11, 2024, 11:35:55 PM
Have a few BTC wallets , without passwords unfortunately…. Among others the 31K … darned , wish I had the password …
Anyway is there anyone here with tips , and I don’t mean password hashing , cause did that , been there …
Any tips regarding passwords would be nice ! Also have 4250 btc wallet , 1730 btc , 844 , 1225 , 109 844 , 26 etc etc etc …
Any information is appreciated !
You went to buy the wallet.dat file that was said to contain huge BTC and you believe it?
It's a common sense. Why would the seller sell such a wallet to you in exchange for a dime you paid him when he had the wallet.dat that contained a fortune?
In the future, I will advise you not to be greedy to save yourself from online theft in the future.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A student investing in bitcoin? on: February 11, 2024, 10:58:10 PM
Now having interest to invest in this bitcoin I want to invest here.
You can invest here cause this place is a Bitcoin forum which was created by Satoshi Nakamoto to serve as a means of community communication and discussion about BTC, blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

Should I invest my savings in Bitcoin?
I feel sad you asked this question after a lot of multi-trillion investment companies have filed for Bitcoin spot ETF and have already pumped Billions into the Bitcoin market. My question is. Do you think all these investment companies like BlackRock are crazy for putting Billions into BTC?
46  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Virtual cards - Transform Your Cryptocurrency with PayWithUs! on: February 11, 2024, 07:24:53 PM
You are absolutely correct - our cards are exclusively designed for online transactions. The minimum amount to replenish the account balance is $100. The card itself costs $30, with $10 of this amount credited to the card's account. All relevant information, including the terms and conditions, can be found within your personal account. Subsequently, you may top up the card with any amount you desire. We greatly appreciate your feedback and have taken your points into consideration. Rest assured, we will address these in our upcoming update.
Despite the benefit of the no-KYC of your platform the major drawback I see so far though I have tried your service is the new card costs which is technically $20 and the minimum balance to replenish the balance which I believe will be a no for people that are like me who will want to use your service cautiously.
47  Economy / Economics / Re: If Banks make money out of loans then they should reward those who borrow on: February 10, 2024, 11:35:09 PM
I don't know the country where you reside because in some countries despite the banks making money through loans the people who also request for the loans get a reward from the loan the requested for although it's not from the banks.
Most of these loans are tax-free by the Fed and the idea was introduced as a way to make them print more money.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats the new narrative? on: February 08, 2024, 05:32:51 PM
The latest narrative in the cryptocurrency space these days is about the recent surge in the price of Bitcoin which some people believe it is a pre-totally bullish market surge, the reason behind ADA price, and Sam Bankman Fried's return to court over the case of FTX.
These are what I know to be the major narrative in the market now.
49  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Trading becomes Unfavourable on: February 08, 2024, 04:36:58 PM
Just do the trade that what works for you. If following the trend works for you and it is profitable then go with it.

If doing day trading works for you then be better with your decisions and be profitable.

Not at all times you will be a profitable trader. So do what makes you good and you know how to come up with it as you trade.

The main question here is even we have to stop the trade or continue trading without caring of previous loss. You opinion is good to adopt other trading strategy but problem here is that when someone loss he also loss emotion control and the idea/strategy he made before the trade changed and now trader doing all trade just for revenge (to recover loss) which mostly cause a big loss. Actually I experienced this situation myself and lost and then only regretted upon the mistake i did. I will recommend to stop trading and wait for cool down and then start trading again after 24 hours with new strategy.
When trading becomes unfavourable, the best thing to do is to take a break which will let the traders see the area where the mistake comes in which could be choosing the wrong product.
You're right when you said something about emotion control and the best way to control is still taking a break and re-strategize.

51  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie gathering Club on: February 07, 2024, 11:51:06 PM
As I'm new and want to learn more maybe there are many people like me
so let this topic be a Gathering Club where all new users can find useful links

Post links of topics that must be read by new people to have a better perspective of the forum

thanks in advance for anyone who spend some time to help others
Although the reason why you made the statement about gathering a club of newbies was for a good purpose but there's no need for newbies to gather on this forum and almost everything the newbies will ever need as assistant for their crypto and this community journey is already available on this forum for them to read.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US wants to know bitcoin electricity usage in the country on: February 02, 2024, 08:38:16 PM
Sooner or later more things that have to do with Bitcoin mining, tax, and payment will be something the US president will have interest in ever since Bitcoin spot ETF has been approved which is something some US senate don't want to see happen so some of this Senate will want to open the eyes of the President to some area that may impact BTC market in some ways.
53  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: In the Future All Crypto Exchanges Will Become Decentralized - Justin Sun on: February 02, 2024, 04:13:05 AM
Due to what we're currently experiencing and seeing how privacy is taking away little by little from the cryptocurrency space anyone that believes in Justin Sun's statement about all crypto exchanges being decentralized is naive about what the Bitcoin spot ETF will create in the future market of crypto.
Maybe Justin was tipsy when he made the statement.

54  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buy ideas on: February 02, 2024, 03:24:27 AM
I like the concept of posts and it opens my insight into some possible information that we can miss on this forum by skipping some topics or discussions on some threads especially those that are created by newbies.
Knowledge is vast and there's no way a single person can know everything.
Research shows that the most wise and smart people on planet Earth are those that welcome ideas an example is what we see in Satoshi when he makes the Bitcoin creation announcement to the public.
55  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who is top bitcoin competitor? on: February 01, 2024, 11:53:27 PM
Satoshi, in his invention of the blockchain, had given us the inch, what is preventing other bodies or organization from taking the ell? Does it mean no coin hosted on the blockchain will gain mass adoption enough to bypass the users of bitcoin?
That's not what it mean. The idea was to make Bitcoin decentralized as much as possible so that organization and the government wont have control over it just like they do with fiat currency.

The government own billions of population, and by setting her face against bitcoin is a competitor, but doesn't seem to prove that they're a top bitcoin competitor without having a downward course in the process. Last question please forgive me, what stops them from building a coin on the block chain that'll bypass the total sum of bitcoin users, and regulate it?
Bitcoin never has a competitor, it's only a competitor in the mind of governments, people, organizations, and business owners that see it as a threat to their centralization power due to Bitcoin being decentralized.
56  Other / Meta / Re: If I'm Satoshi Nakamoto How do I prove it? on: February 01, 2024, 06:55:32 PM
Well, if you are satoshi Nakamoto, then the first thing you can do is to send some donations to some accounts and crash the market, so that the price of Bitcoin can be lower. This way everyone will know that the driver of the Satoshi's account is back and everyone will start believing you.
This is the last thing a responsible person will do.
According to research, LiteCoin is still suffering from the silly move of Charlie and has lost its rank as Bitcoin Silver till today.
The only way Satoshi can prove himself to be real Satoshi Nakamoto is by writing a Bitcoin signed message from the Exodus wallet not crashing the market.
57  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] USB Malware that targets crypto wallets on: February 01, 2024, 04:16:30 PM
Although the attack is complex and requires that it be downloaded via USB, its principle is simple, which is to search for a unique prefix such as bc1 and replace it with the Bitcoin address that belongs to the hackers and hope that you are not paying attention to check the address several times.

In short, as long as you move your coins to cold storage and set up the air-gapped system correctly with an open source, well-reviewed wallet and verify the address several times, you are safe.
Technically, this is just like the clipboard hijacker malware created by attackers to replace the user recipient address with the Bitcoin address that belongs to the attackers.
I think we should also practice the use of a Bitcoin wallet QR code.
About the air-gappped. What about if the wallet is outdated won't that also lead to another danger in the future?
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying with Bitcoin. on: January 30, 2024, 10:03:39 PM
This also implies that buying goods and services would be faster and easier if more people owned and accepted Bitcoin.
Buying goods and services with Bitcoin will be easier but may not be fast due to the network congestion we're experiencing with the Bitcoin network unless both parties agree on using LN for the payment.

If Bitcoin was adopted and accepted as a means of exchange in many countries then there would be a huge improvement in various and global economies.
Bitcoin is not the answer to global economics at large. There are some corrections the government ought to do that will solve the global economic issue.

reduce the rate at which bank charges are being paid
We don't know if this is still applicable ever since the Bitcoin spot ETF was approved some changes will happened and I once read that BlackRock wanted to bring the institutional banks in.
59  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 30, 2024, 09:08:47 PM
If there is no different funding then Bitcoin will be held off for a long period of time.

If there is no emergency funds available there is no way you can hold your bitcoin for a long time. That's it has been emphasized several times that for you to hold bitcoin for long as an investor make room for emergency funds.

An emergency savings is not what we should use to play when we really want to hold our Bitcoin investment over a long period of time. A lot of people always have plans to hold their Bitcoin for a very long period of time, but because of emergency savings they lacks side is what makes them sell their Bitcoin or sell part of their period when the problem arises. So for a smooth Bitcoin investment, we should always know that emergency savings are always necessary, and we should alao be trying to continue saving for emergencies that may arise in the future and as we continue accumulating more Bitcoin.

@Justbillywitt, You are 100 percent correct.
@Humblevirus, Emergency saving is something everyone ought to consider landscape aside in every setting not only in the Bitcoin investment area, and if you want to do it right there should also be room for funds whose purpose is for learning and skill improvement to be ahead in the space that will operate.
60  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do many people fail in trade? on: January 30, 2024, 08:37:56 PM
Haha, OP a straightforward answer because people take trading a world to fulfill their fantasies and luxuries and they fall into the wrong path of journey so they destroy themselves = fail.
Agreed, the frame of mind of some cryptocurrency traders is the reason why they failed but I think some of the social media influencers especially on Twitter have a role to play in the reason why this happened to some traders based on what the Tweeted which was seen as financial advise by some traders.
Meanwhile, I am glad that you make it through when you're on the same road.
