DDU uninstaller/reinstalling everything except OS
Maybe you sort of answered the question yourself ... Try reinstalling the OS, it can work wonders with Win10. When I have major problems I ways take it back to the beginning and start again. It 'usually' results in a stable rig.

RJ9 looks a really sensible way forward, I'll keep my eyes on this thread for when v2 comes out ... had to make a trip out last night to reset two rigs which went down

I need a long cable for one rig that is farther away from my SRR compared to the other rigs close by.. is that 10m or 15m cord available (shipping to us)?
I too am interested in v2 when in stock, but would also need a couple of long 10m/15m cables if available.

Interesting thread, only just noticed it. Over the years I've seen loads of good mining GPUs on eBay (UK), and quite often the description says 'no video display, for spares and parts'. Always wondered if they would be OK for mining as we don't need it to display video, just hash away. Maybe I should bite the bullet and buy one, just for fun

v9.3:
- improved dual mining speed stability in ASM mode. - added "-altnum" option for alternative GPU indexing. - a few minor bug fixes and improvements.
Oh bugger ... just spent the last hour updating all my rigs to 9.2 ... LOL Thanks Claymore, not complaining!

I've just spent the last few hours trying out SMOS on one of my rigs (x5 RX470 8gb Nitro+ Sapphire, stock settings) which has been running on Windows 10. The individual card hash rates were certainly more consistent (as reported in CDM 9.2) in SMOS, they are a bit up and down in Windows. SMOS seems a little more power hungry. Win10 uses 25-30 watts less than SMOS at the wall, I've played around with tweaking the options available. Obviously SMOS has some great benefits and I like the idea of controlling everything on one screen, nice work tytanick ! Trouble is, 30w extra per rig starts to mount up ... I'll have a play again tomorrow ... I have got used to Afterburner

Is there any score with 1080ti ?
One of my rigs has two Zotech Geforce 1080ti FE cards (EWBF 0.3.3b): Total rig power draw: 346W, total hash rate: 1272 Sol/s (3.67 Sols/W) GPU0: 148w @ 641 sols (4.33 Sols/W) GPU1: 151W @ 631 sols (4.17 Sols/W) Afterburner: 60% Power, +240 Core Clock, -300 Memory Clock, Fans @ 60%, GPU Temps 56°C and 47°C

|
|
Finally had time to tweak my two Geforce 1080ti FE cards for ZEC mining (EWBF 0.3.3b), the best I've come up with is:
Total rig power draw: 346W, total hash rate: 1272 Sol/s (3.67 Sols/W)
GPU0: 148w @ 641 sols (4.33 Sols/W) GPU1: 151W @ 631 sols (4.17 Sols/W)
Afterburner: 60% Power, +240 Core Clock, -300 Memory Clock, Fans @ 60%, GPU Temps 56°C and 47°C
Not sure if I can do better ... but run out of 'tweaking' time ... things to do.

With the custom ROM stats were like this: GPU 0= 26.142 GPU 1= 26.155 GPU 2= 26.127 GPU 3= 23.140 GPU 4= 26.152
I've seen this many times on my rigs, never really worried about it, just adjusted the power level for the 'lagging' card by about 5% and it comes up to speed with the others. Not that I use BIOS modded cards though.

not sure about core unlock..
I think 378.78 driver may be better.
my entire rig is about 220 watts for 1 1080ti at 70% power giving 716 h on th better aorus 1080 ti
vs same watts but 660 h on the zotac 1080 ti fe. same settings.
I do have a 1500 watt titanium psu from rosewill since I do 3 soon to be 4 cards I am well under the 1500 watt max so my psu is 93-94%
I have a i5 6400 t cpu also a power saver and finally 1 stick of ddr4 ram a power saver. along with a 128 gb samsung ssd.
this could be why a get 220 one card at the wall vs you getting 293 one card at the wall.
I’ll have to hunt around for another copy of Afterburner, I see in your screenshots you have version 4.3.0: Core Voltage Power Limit Core Clock Memory Clock Fan Speed I also have version 4.3.0, but see: Core Voltage (Locked) Core Clock Shader Clock (Locked) Memory Clock Fan Speed So presently I can't adjust the power limit Would like to play with that setting before changing drivers. My watts meter might not be that accurate, I have 3 and they all tell a different story +/-30 watts sometimes. Couldn't resist ... have another 1080ti arriving tomorrow, might move a few RX470 8gb cards on to pay that bill.

My 1080ti arrived a day late today ... I've not mined with Nvidia before ... so time for a few tests/tweaks ... using the latest 381.65 driver.
Straight off the bat (without making any voltage adjustments etc.) it's QUICK for sure! ... and throws out a fair amount of heat as well, fans set to 70% to keeps temp around 64 degrees.
Nicehash miner only offers to benchmark one algo, being Lyra2REv2: 63 MH/s, 282 watts rig draw at around $4.87 per day.
EWBF ZEC miner on Nicehash: 700 sols (fluctuates down to 682 sometimes), 291 watts rig draw at around $4.64 per day.
Nicehash Excavator: Equihash algo, 660 sols, 292 watts rig draw but it fluctuates wildly.
All the above are only 15/20 minute sessions so might be out a bit.
I hadn't even considered it might be suitable for Lyra2REv2, interesting GPU this.
Time to play with AfterBurner and see what can be tweaked, the core voltage seems to be locked? There must be a way to unlock that?

I will take 2-4 depending on prices.

@ Citronik - Yes electronics in the UK have had a hike in price since the Brexit vote, pound against the dollar and all that ... So often a dollar price is about the same as a pound price, I swear all they do is change the $ sign to a £ (300 was for the Biostar board, ram and processor). Phil, thanks for the links ... and they lead to co.uk. site as well ! I have an SSD and Win10 licences spare so that's covered. I'd looked at a few Gigabyte boards, but wasn't sure. All my RAM is DDR3 and LG1150 processors, so time to move on to newer tech. As ever, really appreciate the suggestions, I'll take a look ... just got an email to say the card will be here on Monday

I've been sitting on the fence for more than a few days, and finally pulled the trigger on a 1080ti, should be with me in a few days. The overall efficiency (as has been said before) is a no brainer for ZEC, and I read other algos should hopefully improve with updated drivers as they get released.
I'm currently fully invested in Sapphire RX470 8gb Nitro+ cards and Asrock boards with all slots full, and have a spare PSU or two.
So ... I now need to buy a board/processor/ram to run the 1080ti on (hopefully two long term) ... but which board?
Phil's Biostar Z170GT7 looks nice, but also quite pricey, especially when I factor in ram and a processor. It's easy to get to 300GBP for those items (in the UK).
Has anyone experience or ideas on a cheaper board that would take 2 cards?

There should be an option to choose PCI 1 or perhaps to select Gen 1 (instead of Gen 2 or 3). Someone with that motherboard may be able to tell you more specifically where to find the setting.
I have that board, and had to set it to Gen1 for everything to work perfectly.

Interesting ... I was thinking I have enough RX470 cards ... and maybe time for a little Nvidia mining.
They're quite a price, but also have good resale value, will be interested to see what you get out of it when it's up and running.

I'm running three identical RX470 8gb Sapphire Nitro+ rigs, Asrock Pro BTC R2.0 boards, 8gb ram, Windows 10 Pro on SSDs. Each runs x5 RX470's and pulls around 950w on start-up, but after reducing voltages etc., they run at around 715w each. I guess if I added a 6th card it would add around 100w. 5 cards = 122M/hs for ETH, I don't overclock. Reducing the power usage only reduces the total hash rate by about 4M/hs
|
|
|
My rigs all use RX470 8gb Nitro+ cards, no overclocking, a 5 card rig = 120Mhs. If you're in the UK, Amazon curently have them at £199.99 for Prime Members ... the cheapest I have ever seen them ... only 6 left apparently ... as I just snagged a couple more
