i think GEN2 must be enabled.

Hello, Will you be adding Nvidia and CPU mining support soon (I HOPE!)? Am increasing Nvidia rigs atm and would really like to only use one OS to run everything. Thanks

rig grouping is next after the dashboard update

what you asked for is very far down on the list right now

CPU mining is not suggested and most likely not worth it really. Most rigs we setup up have a shitty CPU, so you really want to invest your money on GPUs instead.

I think there is another OS supporting Nvidia as we speak, but still very beta from what I read.

I've just spent the last few hours trying out SMOS on one of my rigs (x5 RX470 8gb Nitro+ Sapphire, stock settings) which has been running on Windows 10. The individual card hash rates were certainly more consistent (as reported in CDM 9.2) in SMOS, they are a bit up and down in Windows.

SMOS seems a little more power hungry. Win10 uses 25-30 watts less than SMOS at the wall, I've played around with tweaking the options available.

Obviously SMOS has some great benefits and I like the idea of controlling everything on one screen, nice work tytanick !

Trouble is, 30w extra per rig starts to mount up ... I'll have a play again tomorrow ... I have got used to Afterburner  Grin

UPDATE: BETA DASHBOARD:

Guys i just made little reload (so some rigs could show offline but it was only status on website)
I also implemented BETA dashboard Smiley Which will replace current one in very very very near future Smiley
Anyway if someone would like to test it go ahead Smiley
In short: it works much faster, more beautifull and faster again Smiley
Please report  any bugs or suggestions to admin@simplemining.net
Subject: BETA Dashboard problem

You can use the same login link as to from normal dashboard for example to work at the same time on both of them Smiley
In order to do that add "beta." to link: "https://beta.simplemining.net/auth/e7bc

I've tried to enable 4G but screen freezes when it loads the smOS but after disabling the 4G it loads the smOS but wouldn't start the miner also in smOS dashboard I only see 4 gpus out of 6

Same issue, I couldn't find any solution for that. In addition, when I use more than 4, SMOS doesn't see any of them.

I found the solution but it only worked in windows 10. i got all 6 cards running on msi z170a sli motherboard. first you need to install windows 10 in UEFI also needs gpt partition.
my bios settings are

Settings / Advanced
PEG = 0 Auto
PEG = 1 Auto
PCI Latency = 64
Above-4G Enabled

Settings / Windows OS Configuration
Windows 8.1 / 10 = Enabled

i got boot into windows and all 6 gpus installed. looking forward to see 4g fix for SMOS.

Testing now.

0. Loads faster - very good.

1. Sidebar, needs to have collapse/close function to maximize screen size. For users that have a long list of rigs, you want t the maximum width of the screen to show as many details as possible.

2. On the miner selection section, seems color scheme like light gray on gray i used -- this is actually not so easy to read - perhaps standard "windows" colors like white text on common background color like blue or other dark shades for better contrast.

Email sent.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

I'm just spit-balling here, but how much memory do you have installed? "Above 4G Decoding," after all, refers to accessing in excess of 4GB of memory for mapping of PCIe devices.

Hello:

1.- What does the number between parenthesis (1) mean? Appears right next to core speeds.

2.- I have the cards with BIOS MOD Can I update the drivers? I know that on windows I can only use the 16.9.xx without having to do anything strange does the same thing in linux?

3.- What advantages would the new kernel or drivers install in the Beta option?

1. Its PowerStage (Core dpm level, lower dpm less wattage but this works sometimes and sometimes on certain gpus not.
If you have stability issues then use 6-7 values, If you want less wattage use lower Powerstage and look if it draws less wattage in deed.

Undervolting in linux works only when you will do custom bios with voltage offset. Sometimes works lowering powerstage.

About those 4G problems, i have 2 things in mind.
I need to release SMOS with different kernel version and also with some different kernel settings.

When the problem will be fixed?

Hi, I try simple os, but I have problems with it.
Miner works only for 4 gpu, when I use 5 or 6 gpu's I get an error.
My rig contains:
Power Color
2x470 8gb, 2x480 8gb and 2x480 4gb
motherboard prime 270-p
Do I need any additional information about the system?

I write image to USB flash drive 8gb
 Error example in attach.
I also tried to install a patch (beta kernel  4.11). second photo with error after this.

I think it is the motherboard. Older motherboards work fine. I've got msi z87-g45 running stable with 6 gpus on SMOS But msi Z170A sli is having problems with 6 gpu but working fine on Windows 10. Try windows for now upuntil we get fix on SMOS.

Hi everyone, I've been running mi first rig for almost 10 days with 6 RX480. At stock settings I'm getting 24,44 Mh/s per card. I would like to overclock them through simplemining. What settings should I put into the overclocking menu ?

I guess this has already been answered in the thread but couldn't find time to go through all of the conversation.

So if anyone could give me some tips that should be great.

Here is a picture of the (new  Grin) dashboard and the overclocking menu: http://imgur.com/a/NbNaq

Thanks in advance

Hello,

My ISP actually blocks all the mining pool ports and i can still mine using a vpn on windows.
Is there ANY way i can do the same on SMoS ?

I have a wifi dongle, a 4g dongle. Is there any way i can install dongle drivers for it in SMoS?
I cannot connect to any mining pool which is not using port 80 or 443.

Please help or post a solution.
There are many people who use wifi as far as i have read in some miners posts.

Same here, Z170A msi gaming pro carbon.

- As soon as I enable 4G decoding SMOS is not booting
- As soon as i attach the 5th card got the error like on your screenshot (amd driver crash), windows 10 is working fine with 7 gpu.
