41  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think having a job actually makes you a different person? on: December 18, 2015, 03:13:17 PM
So this discussion is us conversing on whether or not having an hourly paid job actually makes you happier or social. Also discuss what you do for work.

I just got a new hourly paid job from the creator of Math-Morale where I basically teach children how to code. It's fun, but really don't know how long this'll be. I barely have any opportunities to log onto my computer and do what I normally do.

I think yes. I dont say it makes you a better person though ;-)

i worked for about 18years and i am pensioned since 1.5years.

i loved my job (i did db-design, db layers, transactions layers and a graphical language for bi).

the difference is: now i have to think about what i want to do and what benefits me. sometimes its hard to find something which i want to make. BUT if you stop making thinks you get unlucky - so you have to - regardless if you have a job or not.

so i'd say: people who dont work and dont do things suffer depression. people who dont work but still make things are a net benefit for society as it is likely they do things which are good and positive while not only looking after money.

43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin QT lost receive-addresses after udate on: December 17, 2015, 03:42:30 PM
Thanks for the help.
It worked.

Nevertheless blockchain.info says:

in- and out

received 0.2358 BTC
transmitted 0.2357 BTC
fees 0.0001 BTC
BTC transmitted, estimated 0.00769 BTC

(translated from German to english by me)

What is this line BTC transmitted, estimated [value]?

blockchain info does not know how much you have sent. because there is always a change sent back to you - and they dont know which one is the correct transmitted value

---
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin QT lost receive-addresses after udate on: December 17, 2015, 03:28:07 PM
Hi,

I updated botcoin qt Client from Version 0.8.4 (32 Bit) to Version 0.11.2 (64 Bit).
After updating all receive addresses have been removed (or aren't shown any more).

The Problem ist that I got a payment to one of this not any more shown bitcoin addresses.

Is it possible to add my old receive addresses again to the bitcoin qt Client?

In the blockchain I can find this Transaction with the transaction-ID I got from the sender. It also Shows that those bitcoins haven't been transmitted yet.

I have an backup of my wallet.dat and know the address it was sent to.

So would it help to Import my old wallet.dat or install the old Client and Import the wallet.dat then on another Client and disabling the program on my main Client while doing that?

The key pairs for this address should be written down in the wallet.dat - is that correct?

yes all private keys are in your wallet.dat
i suggest you backup the wallet.dat and try your old one and see if the coins are there....good luck

btw. this should not happen. updates dont mess with wallet.dat.

Did we get clarifications from the admin on multi-posting?
That thread continues to grow (25 posts from him yesterday)...
Well he is still getting paid from the sig campaign(Bit-x) , so yeah a sufficient amount of sig spam right there. It was there since ages ago, I thought I'd report it when I saw it on the Bit-x campaign thread(when he was complaining not getting paid and then later said he wouldn't spam and all and got paid) , I thought it would be quite obvious to any moderator and he'd be banned soon. Kinda forgot about it since then

isnt that breaking this rule:
13. Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours.[2]

or is this only valid for marketplace (lol...just noticed it even is in Marketplace/Gambling)?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] do you take anything out of Spoetnik mouth serious? on: December 16, 2015, 12:10:14 AM
@OP, get over the Monero Criticism

probably you are right here

(grow up)

no thanks... i like my inner child

Like WTF did Like David Latpie's Monero Marketing company get started for ?
Was it simply to organize a group of Trolls to hang out at Bitcointalk and mouth me off 24/7 ?
..and anyone else that did not comply with the Monero Cult ?

he did not start a company. he just wanted too, but failed because his partner was a conman (thats what he apologized for)

where did you get that info from ?

i have read his apology which you have posted in your thread.

here is his quote:
Quote
Months ago, I decided to go one step further in my involvement with Monero and to start a company to promote it (as well as the whole blockchain technology). It happened I made a terrible choice when it came to choose my partners. One of them, a very good smooth-talker, was a crook who managed to swindle us all (four other partners). We since discovered he was doing this for ten years. The French police eventually catched him and last thing I heard, he was in jail.

48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which dev do you trusted more ? on: December 15, 2015, 05:00:04 PM
i'd trust a coin which has a group of commited devs regardless of anon or not.
like monero ;-)
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Monero David Latapie French Police Fraud [updated] on: December 15, 2015, 02:56:43 PM
If you have no new info please stop bumping my topic.. you are wasting all our time with this nonsense.

i'd suggest you show some evidence that david actually defrauded anyone and is a criminal
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Monero David Latapie French Police Fraud [updated] on: December 15, 2015, 02:22:36 PM

If the shoe fits..
And besides i never defrauded innocent people of money unlike Monero shills / criminals.
Besides how do i know you are not a faggot ?
Maybe you like a little cock every now and then ? ..hey i don't judge ..to each their own man !

Oh and by the way good job avoiding answering the question.. WHY.

who in the monero community has defrauded anyone?
who is a criminal?

no one?

please back up your accusations!

Yes David Latapie back it up.

david is not a criminal - his partner was (maybe)
david did not defraud anyone

So all of you Monero investors don't even know why the leader of a Monero Marketing company apologized to you ?

we know. if someone makes a mistake (eg picking the wrong partner) he apologizes. so did David.
53  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the point of collateral? on: December 14, 2015, 11:37:32 PM
you can use it for margin trading.
eg you have XRP and want to go long.
you borrow btc and give xrp as colleteral.
you buy more xrp with that btc.

if xrp goes up: you win. if xrp goes down: well... hopefully you got out soon enough ;-)
the lender should factor this in when accepting alts as colleteral
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] do you take anything out of Spoetnik mouth serious? on: December 14, 2015, 09:49:23 PM

I could go on but i think OP's name say sit all..
He's a Monero shill.
And that crew has been made at me lately (look at my negative rating for details)
ALL of it was born out of criticizing Monero.
That about sums it up.

Ok i want to be honest to you: I usually try not to shill. I have that username and sig because i believe in Monero.

I already told you why i made this thread. IF you feel offended by it please tell me and i try to delete / lock it whatever you want. i am autistic and that means that its hard for me to see what others feel about my actions. that does not mean that i want to harm or offend anyone (i sometimes make an exception if i think someone scams - like i think about evan. but thats OffTopic here as i dont think you are a scammer)

i also was on medication a year ago and now i am a pensioner at age 35. so i think we are (at least a little) in a similar situation (although we have a different view on some things).

so i say: sorry
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] do you take anything out of Spoetnik mouth serious? on: December 14, 2015, 09:17:00 PM

EDIT:
by the way i have probably been on the internet longer than all of you combined..
And i have never put anyone on ignore on any site once.. ever !
I am not a child.

combined? unlikely... longer than me? probably... its 18yrs with internet for me and 29yrs coding (i coded my first program when i was six years old and with eight i had developed my first own database ;-) )
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] do you take anything out of Spoetnik mouth serious? on: December 14, 2015, 09:14:06 PM
to be honest i'm not sure i can take anything serious coming out of OP's mouth, not when OP makes polls like these.

Is it really necessary to get this personal towards a person in the altcoin discussion section ? thats not just a question
towards OP but also to a lot of other people in the habit of making threads like these.

Why not just stick with discussing cryptocurrency itself and avoid getting so personal ?

well i really dont want to go personal against Spoetnik. this wasnt my intention. actually i dont have anything against him.

he is very active here and i see many people who oppose his opinion and i am interested to see if he actually has any influence or not.

i voted "i dont care because of his writing style" - which is my honest opinion as i think if someone wants to tell others something he'd do it in a polite manner (smooth is a good example of this)
57  Economy / Trading Discussion / when to close a candle on a 24h market on: December 14, 2015, 05:19:16 PM
Hi,

most indicators (eg Pivot Points, EMA, SAR and so on) work on candles.
but when to close a daily or hourly candle on a 24h market?

atm i often the current time as my closing (and working backwards from that) but IMHO thats not right (and esp for Pivot Points it seems a little dangerous).

Any suggestions?
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you take anything out of Spoetnik mouth serious? on: December 14, 2015, 05:04:22 PM
do you take anything out of Spoetnik mouth serious?

please ignore my username or sig while answering. i am really interested in valid feedback...

I imagine him driving an old pick-up with a "Kill all shitcoins and let Satoshi sort them out!" bumper sticker.

i have to admit... i laughed at your comment.
but i dont think anyone on his medication (he admitted it) is allowed to drive.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACTS] Context - An Outsiders View on: December 14, 2015, 04:50:41 PM
I don't care who takes me seriously *around here.

well i am interested if someone does... so i created a poll https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1289193.new#new

i tried to ask the question non biased. if you want it rephrased just tell me...
