41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 28, 2024, 07:30:56 AM
If Paul George declines his player option for next season and signs with the Warriors, it would really weaken the Clippers. However, I think Leonard is unlikely to find a new team because of this situation, as he still has a huge contract and the Clippers obviously won't just let him go.

They will be playing at their new arena "The Wall", Intuit Dome and I think Steve Ballmer would want to be a blast so he might not let go of his star players but instead strengthen them more with newly acquired players even though he will pay the luxury tax. If he wants his tickets to be sold in their new arena then it better be filled with players that are entertaining to watch.
They don't really lack talent, they just lack chemistry and because of injuries they cannot complete their best production.

I am more curious about the recent rumor of the Wiggins trade as the Golden State Warriors are aggressive in exchanging him for a decent player. Wiggins is good as a defensive player, the Nuggets should try to look at this one. Wiggins with AG and KCP will be problematic for their opponents. Who they can trade? That I don't know.

Both teams are going to be weak in my opinion, if the Warriors acquire PG, they might have to lost, Kuminga, Wiggins and GPII along the way. Klay wanted out to that will also be a big factor for them. Same with the Clippers, losing PG and then they will have Kahwi as their franchise player although it seems that after they got him, it's not rewarding for the Clippers as well.

I do agree, Wiggins might performed poorly, but going to another contender team, it might be like a second wind for his career and could re-ignite him if he will be traded for former champion Nuggets and he might be a great fit for them.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bohachuk Vs Ortiz Jr WBC INTERIM SUPER WELTERWEIGHT TITLE AUG 10 2024 on: June 27, 2024, 11:43:56 AM
Nobody comes close to Vergil; he is just so dominating. Bohachuk could be the right guy who's up to the challenge to beat Ortiz.
It is time for Ortiz to step up the fight and challenge the best fighter in whatever division he is in; he is already a polished fighter, but injury and fighting low-level fighters have kept him from achieving a lot.

I guess this is because Oscar protected his record; Golden Boy's way of promoting his boxers is not suitable for many boxers. They fight boxers that they can easily beat, taking a lot of time for them to shine.

I have mark this fight I'm sure its going to be a slugfest but Ortiz will eventually take this fight and will fight Crawford for the title.

Correct, it's going to be a slugfest as we can see that the records of this two are impeccable and the knockout ratio is very high. And when we have this kind of boxers facing each other, chances are we are going to see a great fight and trying to hit each other head and score a knockout.

And I do agree that it's about time for Ortiz to step up the competition and his promoters have been protecting him for so many years. Although they've already created some hype on him, still though not much of a great fight throughout his career. So this could be his real big test and we will know how Ortiz will be challenge and react against a fighter that has that kind of knockout power like himself.
43  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: June 27, 2024, 10:31:34 AM
I just check my Netflix account and it is still a go,

So perhaps they are going to salvage the fight on November 15 and this is just for Jake Paul to practice want he has been doing in training and so we can see how sharp he could be in November against Mike Tyson. So all is not lost for Netflix, although there could be disappointment that they will have to wait for the next couple of months to see their ROI.

A stomach ulcer is not a simple disease, recovery will require strict diet and rest, perhaps half a year will be enough for Mike to return to duty, but preparation and such attention to the fight will be far from a state of rest, which may aggravate everything again. I think that this fight will have to happen because Mike wants to get his money, I’m sure that anyone in his place would want the same, so I have almost no doubt that this fight will take place, but I’m worried about what condition Tyson will be in...

And that is why the fight is going to be moved on November 20, so them enough time for Mike Tyson to heal and then train for Jake Paul and I think it will still be a go by Netflix as they might have used a lot of money in promotion and paid Tyson upfront or paying up front Jake Paul's company because they are partnered with them.

As for Mike Perry as replacement, just all for the money and we can't blame him for accepting it in a short notice. For Jake Paul being criticized for picking Mike Perry, again it's all business and everyone want's a piece of Jake Paul as he is loud mouth and this fighters might want to shut him up for good.
44  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful about free streaming of UEFA EURO 2024 - Medusa Malware on: June 27, 2024, 09:40:23 AM
So for football fans out here in our community, just be very careful of looking for free streaming in the internet or in our mobile devices as we don't know if the streaming that we will access is dropping something in our device from the background and could steal our sensitive information including banking logins and our crypto wallets.
Anyone who wants to be safe online while streaming these games should do it from the official source. You can count on your security online because when you are stream using the official streaming services because they are regulated, and have a lot things put in place that protects their users from any cyber attack like malware and phishing attacks. Whenever I see anyone who tries to use free streaming services, I just call it a penny wise pound foolish because the money would have spent on paying for ESPN+, Sky Sports, paid subscription would be more than the one spent when you lose your data, funds, for software updates which was very avoidable.

That is so true, but for sure there could be limited stream sites that will give us free access even the official source. And so this cyber criminals find a way again to somewhat exploit a sporting event. Even during the height of pandemic, there are a lot of face websites news and vaccine and will ask you to download something in your system that contains malware.

So this is the same here, so at least we should be aware of this kind of modus from this criminals. And if you can't afford to pay those streaming services then it might be better to just wait for the highlights or news. But if you are willing to pay big bucks then go for legitimate sites.
45  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 27, 2024, 09:20:09 AM

And there goes one big now.

OG Anunoby[1] agreed to sign with still New York Knicks for a $212.5M deal for 5 years. This is a wise move for the Knicks and as well as OG.

As long as the price is right, they're going to make these deals very fair and easy.

[1] https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/og-anunoby-staying-with-knicks-star-defender-set-to-sign-five-year-212-5-million-contract-per-reports/

Wow, this deal is hilarious in my opinion.
A career 12 point per game player in his 8th season and he earns 40 million per season from now on, wtf is wrong in this NBA right now. Sure he is a good player but this salary is just WAY too much for his caliber. This super star salary, go to guy salary, he in none of that.
His other numbers are also not impressive, not even 5 rebounds or 2 assists per game in his career. I don't understand what desperation drove NY to offer this kind of money.

Perhaps they see value on OG though, and if he didn't get injured or playing 100% in the playoffs, he could be a big contribution to the team. So I don't think that the NYK is desperation, there could be decisions by organizations that might give them good returns in the future and so they are risking it and hopefully they can get value from the money that they are paying.

And teams really need players to be at least with them 3-5 years and see how it will fit into their system. And with OG still with there, who knows, they could be a contender team if Randle goes back healthy and Brunson and the Villanova Boys carrying NYK.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mempool confirmation: After 55 years on: June 26, 2024, 11:08:27 PM
I just noticed this sort of sarcasm from Mempool  Grin when I was looking at it because I want to check the latest payment from my signature campaign.

So what if there will be a time that our transaction is going to be confirmed in years though?

Damn, it's gonna be worth a life time to wait.  Grin

48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For me, Bitcoin is just a financial Game. on: June 25, 2024, 09:49:02 PM
Firstly, despite Bitcoin's distinctiveness and its own complexity compared to other financial forms like fiat currency, gold, etc., its essence remains "money."
Secondly, the price volatility of Bitcoin is highly enticing; it constantly alters our psychology, which is why I refer to Bitcoin as a financial game.

You can treat it that way, money, speculative asset like stocks, hedge against financial crisis, Store of Value, there are a lot of definition of Bitcoin, it just depends on how we look at it our how we going to used it.

Be mindful: if it's a game, there are rules to follow, risks involved, and winners and losers. Before you engage, research investment strategies, media influence, key influencers, benefits, risks, etc. Take charge of the game; don't let it control you.

Just to let you know though, that everything is life is a game, so in order to survived, you have to play and be smart. So like in Bitcoin market, it's complex as you have said and volatile, but if you know how to play the game and be that smart, take advantage of every situation given to you, like if the market goes down, then buy and accumulate, and then wait for it to go up and sell and make profits. Sounds very simple, but it takes mental toughness to go with it and win in the end.
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is investing in cryptocurrency a risky game? 🚨 on: June 24, 2024, 11:34:25 PM
Every investment though is a risk, stocks, gold, oil, we don't know what's going to happen, it's the unknown that will mostly scares investors. But so be it, that is the risk that we should take if we really wanted to win big at the end. So yeah, Bitcoin and Altcoins are risky because it's so volatile, however, Bitcoin is more resilient to manipulations and pump and dump scheme. So most likely it will turn out big for you if you know how to time the market, when to buy, HODL and then when to sell.

As for the hackers and scammers, I would say that it's part of the market already, so you as a investors, should know how to live with it. Protect your wallet at all cost, practice safe hygiene like not clicking any links even if they didn't look suspicious. That's why we said it here, BYOB (Be Your Own Bank), so you have total control of everything. With that, I think it's worth the risk.
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand to Legalize Gambling To combat Illegal gambling or.... on: June 24, 2024, 11:09:50 PM
"If you can't beat them, join them", attitude by the Thai government. I think it's good approach as compare to really trying to crack it down and then your efforts like money, manpower are futile because they are going to sprout like mushrooms. And if you capture one, for sure 10 more illegal dens are going to be established by this criminals. And then maybe some of them are really working together with some government officials and police for protection.

So maybe this way they can eliminate those things and let them pay tax, at least it's a win win situation. Let's see how they are going to cope though with the gambling addiction, it will obviously rise in numbers and the government should also established infrastructure for rehab facilities.
51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: June 24, 2024, 01:09:59 PM
Also, on the speculation if Devin Haney will fight King Ry again, he will certainly do this after King Ry's suspension. I predict that King Ry vs. Haney 2 will be Haney's biggest purse hehehehehe.

That will be interesting to watch, but isn't it Haney would also want King Ry to be have a lifetime ban in boxing?

like this article had reported.

BILL HANEY WANTS A LIFETIME BAN FOR RYAN GARCIA – ‘HE WAS CHEATING AND BETTING’

So if this will happened, there will be no more Haney vs Garcia rematch. Honestly, despite Ryan had proven to be cheating, I would still be betting on him if that rematch would really happen, so hopefully Haney will stop with filing a case and just let Ryan serve his suspension so they'll face again in the future.

Bill Haney is the father and he does not like his son to be trolled again ehehehe. Devin Haney, the son, has mentioned that he will see King Ry in 2 years. This implied that he speculated that King Ry will be suspended for 2 years and he would like to fight him again.

Well we can understand where Bill is coming from, and we have seen a lot of father and son tandem in boxing and probably this is one of the closest in the last couple of years that he knows how his son is hurt and so they want to extract more from Ryan Garcia so at least to alleviate that pain that his son is suffering. As for the 2 years, Ryan will only be suspended for 1 and so they can make the rematch after a year if Devin Haney wants.

Also, money and collecting more of money is the mission in every boxing event, very much similar to ICO scams hehehe. Team Haney will certainly collect their biggest purse only on a fight against Ryan Garcia, I reckon.

True even in the early years of sports, everything is business, but it was evident in the last 20 years are every one wanted to get a lot of money fighting. After all, there capital is their fist and they train almost for the entire year for their life and they put their lives every time. So it make sense that they will demand millions in every fight. However, I don't think that Haney will experience 8 figures again in future fights unless it could be high profile like Tank at 140 lbs or Teo Lopez.
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 24, 2024, 12:40:08 PM
Anyway, I saw on a Facebook post that the Lakers are interested in getting CP3. Who do you think the Lakers will give just to get the "Point God"?

I haven't seen or read anything about this yet. But regarding Paul George not Chris Paul, it's rumored that the Warriors have big chance of landing Paul George in case they decide to let go of Klay Thompson. I think it's good idea for the Warriors if Klay Thompson will leaves the roster and they replace him with PG13. But the question is, what will be the cost in terms of cash or the performance of the Warriors?

But for me, what they should focus on is getting a proper center. I think they're lacking in the bigman  or center in their current roster.

Warriors though doesn't have history of having great centers throughout their championship run, and because it is run by Steve Kerr, who's experience with the Bulls are the same, no great big man but the center is on Michael Jordan, same with the Warriors Steph Curry. So I don't think that will be their priority. And if Klay leaves for sure they are going to pursue the likes of Paul George as a replacement. Remember they have a great pick, and a lot of promise in James Wiseman, but they traded him away to the Detroit Pistons.

If Klay won't leave then maybe they will get another wingman or another role player that can fill the void in their defense. And maybe we will see Andrew Wiggins in the trade block as his game has been deteriorating in the last 2 seasons.
53  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on political events on: June 24, 2024, 11:10:21 AM
I propose to discuss bets on political events in this topic. Some bookmaker organizations offer such bets. In order not to engage in their advertising, I will not mention their names, but you can easily find them on the Internet using various queries such as “Betting on political events” or even “Betting on non-sports events”. Strictly speaking, political betting is a type of betting on non-sports events. I don’t know whether the moderator will allow this topic to remain in gambling discussions or move it to the politics section. But in my opinion, it is more logical to leave this topic here, because despite political forecasts, we are talking specifically about gambling.
Why has betting become a symbol of sports games? This is not true. We can argue about any event - political, musical, economic, even esoteric. However, political events, such as elections in the United States, have the greatest liquidity. Perhaps a separate topic should be created for non-sports disputes that are also not political.
Here I propose to discuss all political events in all countries on which bets are placed, and not just political events in the United States.

It seems like a perfectly normal thing to take bets on, you're just betting that you are better at calculating probabilities than the bookmaker. There is a possibility of rigging, like any sports fixture, but there is probably a higher risk of it in certain situations. It seems like certain political bets, like when at election will take place, are more susceptible as you can see in the UK with even MPs with insider knowledge abusing that information. However the outcome of actual events like who will be the president or prime minister are less predictable, as politics has gotten increasingly volatile in previous years.

It's possible that rigging an election specially in countries that are authoritative or at least still run by dictators and so it's really hard to bet on them. No offense, but I don't like to bet on this kind of political events. Yes, you could make money, but I'm more into sports betting and real sports.

Anyway, I guess we will not run short of this kind of betting and there could be websites that are going to offer this kind. And there are a lot of political events that are going to happen or everything that involved world events.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Soldiers using gambling to cope with stress. on: June 24, 2024, 10:39:00 AM
For the question of whether if they are going to be restricted, I will say no. For me, everyone has the right to play and gamble as long as it is their own money. The problem here is that maybe it's just another reason for soldiers to cope stress though. I mean they could lose money obviously and that it could bring more problems to them specially if they come home empty handed and with no money to bring to their families after serving in the war.

I think that is what the government here is trying to address to. And for soldiers, perhaps it's just a small percentage that the gamble, they could still be soldiers who are more intelligent that losing their money and at the same time is battle worn.
55  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ultimate Poker: Native Telegram mini-app Poker Room on: June 23, 2024, 10:36:05 AM
And so the Telegram game is still the latest hype as we have seen a lot of this kind of gaming as of lately.

Just a matter on how they are going to promote it, i.e. signature campaigns so that they  can reach a broader audience and obviously they want to compete with top tier. So best of luck and welcome to the forum.

And hopefully you can stay here and be active to answers questions/queries or doubts about your platform.
56  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny - Pacquiao VS Chihiro Suzuki Exhibition Match on: June 22, 2024, 12:26:23 PM
Seen some small trashtalks from Chihiro suzuki about beating up Manny pacquiao but we do really know on whose really that at advantage on here.
There's no doubt that this would really be just that an easy win but well its just that a 3 rounder.

Unfortunately for him that's all he can do because once they are in the ring, he won't be able to do the talking anymore, it will be MP doing the talking through his action and we might see a knock out here if Chihiro will try to play hero and go for a KO. MP would love to see his opponent engaging in the fight, but since this is just an exhibition fight, he might not give his 100% here but will ensure the win.

And that is the secret of Manny Pacquiao throughout his legendary career. He didn't talk to much, but when the bell rings, and it's between him and his opponent, he will do the talking then using his fist.

We wouldn't forget Ricky Hatton or Antonio Margarito mocking Manny and trainer Freddie Roach. But look at what Pacquiao did to both of this fighters. He ended up their career for good. So it's better for Suzuki to just throw respect on Manny and then hope that he can win the fight.

This is not a professional fight; Manny might make an exception here. Honestly, I think these exhibition fights could be rigged since promoters cannot make it look like a pro fight that could result in a serious injury to one boxer, as there might be complaints and the government could stop these kinds of fights. They aren't carefully evaluated to determine if both boxers are really capable and fit during the fight compared to the professional fight where all measures are done to ensure that both have the same weight and prepared to fight.

I don't think that the government will step on something like sports, even if this is just a exhibitions fight. Worst we have seen deaths in the ring, but still boxing is a main sport and it can't be just stop by any government or any entity.

For this fight, Manny's extinct will always be a boxer and maybe if he gets hurt or by chance Suzuki somewhat got lucky and slip a punch, maybe we can see the old Manny who's trying to knockout his opponent. In the beginning there might be an exception for him, but when the bell rings, Suzuki might be serious in trying to get a win and so Manny will do everything to not be upset here.
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What ruined your chances of investing in Bitcoin earlier? on: June 22, 2024, 11:24:09 AM
However I'm so grateful for joining this great forum that's helped to enhance my knowledge concerning Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies at large to a certain level and currently I don't regret anymore since I've realised that it's not too late to invest more and hold for the future cause I've seen and now believe that  the chances of Bitcoin attaining more heights is still very possible.

I wouldn't say that there's something that ruined us, imagine those early investors who have Bitcoin at like $30.00 sell it very early because they don't believed on it and most likely just invest because of the hype. And for sure they've known like in 2017 when we hit almost $20k and it could have made a lot of them millionaires. Or that guy that still looking for his Bitcoin, Man makes last-ditch effort to recover $280 million in bitcoin he accidentally threw out.

And you have a good mindset, we shouldn't look at those missed opportunities, but instead we should move forward as they are still a lot of opportunities to us to make big money here. Price though is very high, but we have DCA as the best strategy or foolproof method as it is very easy to understand and to implement even if you are a beginner.

So same for me, I don't have any regrets whatsoever and I do the best of my ability to accumulate and HODL and long for the long term. Specially that we are in a bull run already, just a matter of time before we hit a new all-time-high.
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigerian Government plans to begin taxing gambling. on: June 22, 2024, 10:48:07 AM

Since the taxation may not affect the crypto gambling community in Nigeria, this will encourage more gamblers to gamble now on crypto platforms right?

https://www.thecable.ng/world-bank-offers-support-as-fg-plans-to-introduce-telecoms-gambling-taxes/

Not sure how you know that might not affect crypto gambling in Nigeria? Yeah it didn't specifically say, but what was reported that everything on-line gambling and obviously there are lot of crypto based gambling right now that could be available to Nigerians and so they will surely be affected by it if the government wanted a blanket tax on everything on-line.

So I guess now Nigerians gamblers will have the take the brunt of this new law. Of course, we wouldn't like tax specially for gamblers, but not sure if this can be implemented 100% as obviously it might take infrastructure first to be able to crack down on gamblers not paying their taxes.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ioka Vs Martinez Super Flyweight division Unification Bout July 7th,Tokyo Japan on: June 22, 2024, 10:18:47 AM
I voted for Kazuto Ioka By Decision.

Even if Kazuto is old as per boxing standard, Martinez is not that young anymore at 32 years old. Kazuto has more experience and probably face a lot of great champions throughout his career and so that experience will play a big role in this fight.

And then as what other Japanese fighters are, they chooses to fight in their country and so Ioka has that one big advantage as well as he is going to be very confident fighting at his own backyard.

I haven't seen the odds yet, but I speculate that Ioka will be the slight favorite here.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 22, 2024, 09:56:14 AM
JJ Reddick situation is really a big big deal at the moment. Why? Because we are going to see Lebron James "probably" get his son this season, unless something crazy happens of course, and he is getting his close friend and podcast mate with him to the coaching job as well.

Meaning that, we are talking about the season where Lebron has the most control over the team we have ever seen. If he also makes some FA signings and some trades as well, we could see the famous "LeGM" type of season. Dude is about to be 40 years old, that ain't easy, yes we have seen him do well enough, but I think it is not going to be all that easy for him to play, but having THIS much control over the team? Like even appoint the head coach? Then I think it could be a good season for Lakers.

As far as I know, he had seasons with the Cavs wherein he has total control of his team same with the Lakers as well. So there's not much of a difference if we talk about control or what's not for JJ Redick being the coach of the Lakers. Still boils down to Redick on how he is going to handle the team and the pressure of being the head coach as this is obviously very different from being a podcaster.

If they are going to suffer what had happen to them last season, then I do not think that Redick will get all the respect from his players including Lebron. They should really do good otherwise the Lakers woes will continue and we might not see Redick leading them next season.
