41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 21, 2024, 12:32:32 PM
Heat and Pelicans got the last tickets to play-offs as many expected. Now it's play-off time!

Magic - Cavaliers
Suns - Timberwolves
Sixers - Knicks
Lakers - Nuggets

My day 1 expectations. Home teams should win at home since this is first game and the crowds support would be amazing.
And you are right. I hope you made it as a parlay. Wink

I thought the Lakers would make the difference but it's only at the first half. Jokic went MVP mode and KCP switched his eagle eye on. The Nuggets are strong and it's proven today. We know Davis is one of the elite defenders below the rim but today Jokic still managed to score 32 points against him.
I think the recipe for the Lakers to win is on D'Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura. If those two great players could get hot early in the game then they might have a chance to win against the defending champions Denver Nuggets.
Lebron and AD are doing their jobs without any doubts but someone in their team must step up their game to contribute to the offense. In the 3rd quarter all they did was turnovers unless the ball goes to AD which can score against Jokic but the same play could not work over and over again.

Lakers only to win against Nuggets is when Michael Porter and Murray choke since Jokic will be tire out doing things on his own to carry the team. Having a good stamina for Jokic all throughout the game is very hard to beat especially on playoffs mode regardless if Russell and other players step up for Lakers.

The secret why Nuggets is a strong team especially in Playoffs is Jokic can do both score, assists and defense. He can solo the team when he is not tired so the team is unbeatable if his other teammates is contributing a lot to help him.

Either put Jokic in early foul trouble or lock him down to limit him on creating a play for his teammates.

Or the Lakers should bring back the one that did play good defense with the Lakers, Dwight Howard. But it's too late, Jokic has matured and evolved and maybe he will have to thanks the like do Draymond or Dwight for playing him that hard that's why he improved.

Sorry for the Lakers, fans thought that they will have a good chance to steal game 1, saw lots of Tweets after first quarter saying that the Lakers are going to win. But they went silent after the 2nd and 3rd quarter as the Nuggets come back and never give the Lakers a to comeback.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 21, 2024, 10:36:49 AM
And I was wrong about this fight, I thought that Haney will dominate it and Garcia is not going to last that full 12 rounds and dictate the tempo. But it was the opposite, when Haney taste the power of Garcia, he was shook and he admit that he sleep on that Garcia left hook. So meaning that he was overconfident that he can take the power of Ryan. But King Ry is too big. He looks small, Oscar and Bernard for sure are very happy about the result and you can see Bernard giving Garcia word of wisdom and you can hear respect.

Yeah, that's why Ryan earns tonight, respect despite almost the majority thinks that he is going to lose this fight and even questioning if he can get back after another lost in his resume. But I would like to see a rematch though, game 8.
43  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Man Arrested for distributing and selling Hive RAT Malware on: April 20, 2024, 02:29:47 PM
Still a long way to go for authorities to catch up with this criminals. It's either state sponsored, which is likely very hard to arrest, or just a couple of group of individuals who's motive is to steal from unsuspecting victims. The legal system though of the US is complicated, I mean he could just point to the person in Australia and become a while blower to save face and he will likely be getting a light sentence. And this is just a drop in the ocean, as we all know that cyber criminals are being born from around the world, and target not only cryptocurrency, but everything their hand can get to make money and uses the data that they will get as a ransom.

Yes, we all know that, cyber criminals are very smart, however, smart as they are, they are bound to slip. And that one mistake will lead to their arrest. In this case, he did talk to undercover and it was just a matter of time before he will get arrested.

Unfortunately, this is a very common way of selling illegal software that allows you to spy on the victim’s computer and steal all files and entered passwords. But the developers do not sell their software to unverified buyers, so most likely it’s a stupid intermediary who wanted an easy way to make money.

Yes, the intermediary that slip up, he is so stupid that he didn't know that he was talking to the authorities as well. Maybe it was the look of the $$$ that is in front of him and so he let his guards down. And it lead to his arrest.

45  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with AI on: April 20, 2024, 01:26:08 PM
Hello,
has anyone heard about this project? It's called GICAI and it's making 2.5 - 2.7% profit per day with artificial intelligence.
I invested 100€ 3 days ago..

I doubt about the veracity of a trading bot or AI that can give you profit daily. Hopefully you can get back your 100€ because it's sounds a scam to me. I'm sure though that that AI will not run without you setting up the parameters right? So who would give you the "right" settings when you are a newbie in trading?

So just be careful about this kind of offers from someone, and it's not a guarantee that it will always give you profit.

And as a newbie, there are a lot of scammers out there try to sell A,B product to you and tells you X amount, promising a return.
46  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tropicana, 3rd oldest casino in Vegas, shutting down after 67 years on: April 20, 2024, 01:08:36 PM
reading through the article it seems that the casino is tied to a lot of notable history that has happened in Las Vegas. quite a shame that it is closing now.

I can't help but wonder if they sold it and if so how much, I mean, I assume the casino still brings in money despite customer traffic on their establishment having slowed down compared to the past due to the newer and more modern casino/resort that has been built throughout the years, so the offer to buy it must have been big enough that they decided finally sell the casino.

This is very surprising considering that the casino itself is located in Vegas, which is the gambling capital of the world. Even if it may not be as famous as the other gambling establishments, its geographical and physical location are worth it and profitable.

It is, but they are remnants of the old casino, and if I'm not mistaken, there are some casinos as well that have been renovated to cope with the current times. But it's not enough for them to stay as there are a lot of competitions from big casinos in strip and online as well.

I guess that the shift to online gambling has taken a massive toll to most physical gambling establishments given that the traction that they gain is far lesser compared before the pandemic hit. But I also think that these gambling establishments must be ready for change- change in a way that they must implement other services in order to keep up with the changes happening in the world.

Most likely, we don't have the numbers, but still, gambling industry is a billion dollar business, and so everyone can still make a lot of money, whether online or traditional based. But I think in this case, it's more likely that the casino is not making money as it used to be or the owners and investors are looking for other business. Besides it has been operational for many years so for sure they've got a lot of profit from it.

With all things considered, I still find it unfortunate that gambling establishments have been closing down. Recently, the Atlantic City Casino owned by Trump has shut down also. Even with the saying that the house always wins, that is not always the case.

As I have explained above, they could still be the winner after all, with the profits that they have made in 67 years in existence.
47  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: joya.casino biggest scam they scam me with 1145$ on: April 19, 2024, 08:44:38 PM
First I wanted to say that I have never even heard of this casino before and then I found out that they already created an ANN thread here about a month ago. According to the whois record, their domain was registered more than a year ago, but according to web.archive.org, it seems that the casino became operational only at the end of last year (before that, the site redirected to some other domains). So it seems that this is a relatively new casino with a not yet established reputation.

I will try to find more info on them in the meantime until their rep comes out on this issue.

As others have said, they have a signature campaign here that runs for one week only to everyone surprise, maybe they didn't get the output that they want or just don't know that signature campaigns is one of the best method to promote their platform here.

In any case, it was a something unexpected that someone will accused them this early in the community. So let's see how @holydarkness can involved the said casino here and to answer. Perhaps they still don't know how everything works here as again. But hopefully if they wanted to stay here that long, then at least we need to hear their side of the story.
48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 19, 2024, 08:19:12 PM
I didn’t watch the weigh in but Devin Haney tweeted that Ryan Garcia didn’t make weight… I guess he missed it by 3 pounds! That’s insane. Ryan hasn’t taken anything about this fight from the beginning. Now it looks like it might not even happen. Bummer. I needed Ryan to lose as the last leg in a long parlay…

It's still going to happen the fight and Ryan now owes Haney money for the bet of not making the weigh, now the icing on the cake of this Ryan Garcia show is him getting knocked out by Haney.

Ryan missed another opportunity to win a title, he missed it against Tank, not he is going to miss it again and it seems Ryan because of his antic may never win a World Title

Quote
According to longtime boxing reporter Dan Rafael, the two sides did reach a financial agreement to move ahead with the fight. A Golden Boy spokesperson said that the two reached an agreement and that Garcia would honor the handshake deal made at the press conference.

Ryan Garcia misses weight ahead of fight with Devin Haney, ineligible to win WBC junior welterweight title

Crazy turn of events, do the camp of Ryan knows before hand that he will be over the allowed weight in this fight? We would understand if it's only like 1 pound, but it's huge 3 pound is big and with this kind of huge fight, fighters should be really looking at their weight, or at least their trainer is on top of it. Part of the blame should be in the shoulders of Derrick James too, in my opinion.

So if Ryan losses, will be used that he was overweight in this fight as one reasons why he was knockout? Lol.

Or he did this intentionally so he will be the bigger guy come fight night and have the advantage?

In any case, fight is still on. I have this fight under 10.5.
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do we really note it for Bitcoin ATH on: April 19, 2024, 01:42:43 PM
So I want to keep this really Brief but,

I was just reading some threads as I do often on the forum and I noticed a thread that talks about Bitcoin ATH and even so, recognizes that Bitcoin is still climbing. Of course it might be an ATH given that, it already broke the existing at the time. Even so, we know that it’s not going to be hooked there and price appreciation is still going to continue pushing for more.

So, exactly when can we have declare an ATH to be?
Is it really subjected to any price that just broke the previous ATH even when we know it ain’t going to hold for long? Because we just might have way too many ATH in the previous!

We obviously declare ATH when we no longer see the price climbing up, and this is usually on the last quarter a year after the halving. So in this case if could be in 2025, maybe November or December to reach a new ATH and the price reaches it top. in 2017, it was December close to $20k, and in 2021, it was November, $69k.

So in the current bull run, it's a question what will be the ATH, conservative estimates is around $100k-$150k. But we will see, no one  can see the future, what we are hearing are just pure speculation and wild educated guesses.
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 19, 2024, 11:35:58 AM
^^ He had a good promoter already, had the blue print to make him successful because he is the one who carried Manny Pacquiao to greatness. But it seems that Bob Arum is being overpowered by the Japanese manager and Arum doesn't want any strife for now that's why he let it be that Inoue fights in Japan.

But there will be time that Arum should insists from Inoue and his camp to move to the US to fight at least once a year. It's not that bad plan to begin with and obviously it will carry a lot of money as well like how Arum carefully guided Manny Pacquiao's career.
Bob Arum is an experienced person and he is promoter who has created many great fights and has brought several fighters to extraordinary success.
But regarding this fight which will take place in Japan, there is really nothing to worry about because right now sales in this event have reached $20 million and this fight is not only about being able to put the championship belt on the line but also to produce money.
But later it is possible that Inoue will go to the US to have another fight if only Bob Arum still trusts Inoue for the next few fights after finishing with Nery.
This decision has also been well received and avoiding disputes is wise attitude because Inoue himself is great fighter with an undisputed title, he will be able to make lot of money if he keeps Inoue.

I sure they will have good meeting point in the future to be able to build Inoue career for the better, after all Manny Pacquiao could make it big there and it possible that Inoue can do it too.

Is that total sales? If then, you have to deduct the purse to be given to Nery and other expenses. But if you compare that fight to the US, maybe Inoue and his team can get it clean at $20 million. So that is a huge step for him instead of just again, fighting in Japan wherein he is a superstar but if he wants to conquer the boxing world, fight of him should in the the other side of the globe.

And there will be a time that the boxers doesn't want to travel to Japan and fight him specially if he goes up in 126 lbs wherein most of the champions are stateside and will not simply be the B-side and just says they will want go to and travel to Inoue's backyard.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely ? on: April 18, 2024, 08:34:22 PM
Small transactions on bitcoin does not make any sense now at all. Like to make a $20 amount transaction, one has to pay about same amount, $20 in fees. This does not make any sense. Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely because of this reason ?

Isn't it obvious though, that when the fees are high, making a small transaction doesn't make any sense. But it doesn't mean we will go on the argument that Bitcoin should increases and be a big blockers, we have that kind of Bitcoin forks and they seem to die down already.

And it's not Bitcoin's fault that the fees are getting ridiculous, it's a deliberate attack on the network itself and just trying to put pressure on the devs and other individuals. Anyhow, for now, it's better not to do another small transactions and the best thing to do is wait for the mempool to clear.

Also there is a option called LN (Lightning Network).
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Jontay Porter receives lifetime ban from NBA for violating gambling rules" on: April 18, 2024, 08:12:19 PM
Just to mentioned as well that he is the brother of Michael Porter Jr, of the defending champion Nuggets.

And as far as I know, there are games that he will really be under performing, he even had a drive and then pass in the last minutes to not score in that game. And again, if I'm not mistaken, there are bettors who suddenly put a lot of money on him, and Vegas caught this odd, that there is something wrong with that particular bet causing it to be investigated.

Yeah, players that are involved in betting should get a lifetime ban no question about it.
53  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Legality and Myth of Card Counting in Blackjack on: April 18, 2024, 01:59:03 PM
And, once identified, you can't easily jump to another casino because casinos are actually using a shared database of card counters. Be On the Lookouts or BOLOs are card counters that are already identified. They can't easily enter casinos anymore.

I also read that if the card counters are quick enough before the casinos caught them, before they can exchange that chips of them, the casino has the right to ask for ID and that is because they want to identify them, if they are in disguise it might be hard for casinos, but if they will ask ID it will be easy for them.

Aside from this, multiple decks and constant shuffling are also done by casinos to counter the skills of these card counters.

Yes, it's not the usual number of decks, they will have to add more and shuffle more often to deter this card counters. Of course, we all know that this card counters take years to hone their skills so it's really a constant battle between them and the casinos.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 18, 2024, 10:38:03 AM
Who would stop Jokic? That's a big question, if they had Howard maybe it's possible, but aside from Davis, there's no other bigs on the Lakers that could minimize (at least) the production of Jokic.

He doesn't need to be stop, as long as Davis and Jokic will have a good production on their respective teams, that would make it even. And we can't go back to the Howard conversation as no one in the NBA have the same defensive skills like Howard, and there's a reason why he wasn't in the NBA now.

We cannot make a quick judgement here, I'm sure the Lakers have prepared it hard to beat the Nuggets, so let's see what they can do as this is a game of adjustments, it's a best of 7 series, right ?

AD will be their prime defender on Jokic, they have the young Jaxson Hayes, or maybe a healthy CWood will do the trick. Of course, no one can guard Jokic 1:1, and I think it will be more on the Lakers double teaming on him.

In any case, the Lakers are going to fight it out here. Interesting to note though that the odds for the Nuggets to win here has a great and attractive odds at Stake,

I do see that match-up but maybe much better to let someone to defend Jokic and allow AD to focus with his offensive productions, as long as He and LeBron are healthy during the series winning still possible, it's more on how they will adjust and try to cover whatever the lapses they've got knowing that playing against the defending champ is really tough.

Familiarizations and good adjustments is what the Lakers needs as Denver still have that solid cores who can really bring the competition to a much higher level, they need to find good answers in each game executions that Denver will bring, both offense and defense are important if they aiming to move forward and try to regain another title.

I think AD will have to defend Jokic as some point in the game, and it could be a lot of players going to be thrown on Jokic here, even Rui for sure will have his time defending Jokic and then let AD do his thing.

AD is a good defender, but Jokic could outduel him and uses his basketball IQ to throw off Davis. That's why the Lakers will have fresh bodies on Jokic every quarter and yeah, double teaming him might be a good idea but they just shouldn't have one plan to contain Jokic.
55  Economy / Speculation / Re: are you expecting Bitcoin to hit $400,000 after the bull run. on: April 17, 2024, 08:02:25 PM
I'm seeing Bitcoin rising to $400,000 before the first quarter of 2025, the bull run this time it will be different from the last one. Bitcoin is $70,000 now the halving have not started, I'm looking at the market that this is the right to buy and hold after the bull run then you sell and make your triple profit.

And now it's $60k as there was a lot of selling before the bull run itself. Remember as well that in the last bull run, there are people seeing that the price rising to $100k, so we might compare your absurd prediction to that.

The price didn't go to 6 digits, the all time high that we got is $69k (although it has been broken pre-halving).

My point is that sometimes there are predictions that are not going to happen as much as we wanted to believed. I guess the key here is for us to just stay on our predictions as conservative or doable and not numbers that are not reachable to be honest. So that we won't be disappointed in the end just like the last time.
56  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 17, 2024, 01:57:20 PM
5 minutes left on Q4.

Safe to say congrats in advance to the Sacramento Kings. So in the first round of the playoffs, we'll see Thunders vs Kings.

Not yet; King needs to face and beat the Pelicans first before facing the Thunder. Looking at the game, the Pelicans hold the season record against the Kings with 5-0, and it is either a blowout win or a double-digit win. With this, I can see the Pelicans beating the Kings and securing the 8th seed if Zion is healthy. We know that late in the 4th, Zion injures himself and goes to the locker room, and it is a devastating point in the 4th because they have and can overturn the outcome of the game, but sadly, yes, Zion injures himself and the Lakers never looked back and get the victory.

If Zion is healthy, Ingram and McCollum play very well (they played poorly against the Lakers as Ingram got benched and McCollum shot poorly), and if they defend Fox and Sabonis very well, we can see the Pelicans win.

And with that, still going to be a 50/50 fight between the two. The Kings survived and ended the Warriors dynasty with that win. The Pelicans on the other hand, went down early against the Lakers. But they made a huge comeback even without BI and CJ on the floor and they did it with a good defense and then Zion scoring inside and pushing himself to a big 40 points.

If not for being injured in the last 3 minutes, Zion could have scored 50 points easy as he was attacking the rim even if there is AD to protect it. Just very unfortunate, that he suffered a hamstring injury (as what the reports say). So he could be back in the next game against the Kings to make the game a even match, or Pelicans a slight favorite in the game.
57  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: April 17, 2024, 11:47:34 AM
Apparently it's Netflix's tendency to invest in fights. It doesn't make much sense, but it's a niche to be explored. Apparently they will just be fights that will be promoted as they would have no appeal if not for Netflix.
Nope, i dont see for this fight to have no appeal even if they would be deciding to go with other mediums and not that using Netflix or using up the standard way on how these fights do really happen.
If we do really think up throughly then both parties would really be having that mutual benefit on which this isnt really just that Mike/Jake or this fight overall would be getting that attention but also same
goes with Netflix on boosting up when it comes to exposure knowing on that these dudes or fighters are really that known specially Tyson plus with that Clown Jake Paul.
They do know that they could really benefit to each other and this is why its not really that shocking that these kind of partnerships or agreements do really happen.
Its all about business yah know.  Kiss

I think that Netflix did well in this fight venture, anyway, if it weren't for Netflix, any other streaming platform would love to have exclusive access to a fight by the legend Mike Tyson.

They are willing to gamble in this venture, Sho and HBO are out, and their rival, Amazon prime has sign with PBC to stream their PPV fights if I'm not mistaken. And so Netflix will have to come out big, and most likely they reach to jake Paul and then they offer Mike Tyson $20 million for this fight.

I think younger people don't understand how much GIANT is the name Mike Tyson, he is simply one of the greatest boxing fighters of all time, any fight of his is a giant event on planet earth.

Yes, it's like when younger generation hasn't watch Michael Jordan in his prime and then they have Lebron James as their GOAT. During Tyson's prime and prior of him going to jail, he was really scary in the ring and knockout almost all of his opponents in a brutal fashion.
58  Bitcoin / Legal / Man Arrested for distributing and selling Hive RAT Malware on: April 17, 2024, 10:50:04 AM

https://www.justice.gov/usao-cdca/pr/socal-man-arrested-federal-charges-alleging-he-schemed-advertise-and-sell-hive

So they caught the individual selling it to undercover employee, just the old and traditional way of catching criminals

Quote
After advertising the Hive RAT, according to the indictment, Chakhmakhchyan exchanged electronic messages with purchasers and explained to one buyer that the malware “allowed the Hive RAT user to access another person’s computer without that person knowing about the access.” After this purchaser told Chakhmakhchyan that “the point” of using the Hive RAT was because the victim had “20k in bitcoin on a blockchain wallet” and “project files worth over 5k,” Chakhmakhchyan agreed to sell the Hive RAT, the indictment alleges. Later, Chakhmakhchyan allegedly also sold a license for the Hive RAT to an undercover employee of a law enforcement agency.
And he was charge with,

  • to advertise a device as an interception device
  • to transmit a code to intentionally cause damage to a protected computer
  • and to intentionally access a computer to obtain information
  • as well as one count of advertising a device as an interception device

Each count carries a statutory maximum penalty of five years in federal prison.

Good riddance, hopefully he will get the maximum sentence and who knows, maybe him and SBF will be in the same jail,  Smiley.

Kidding aside, good work by the authorities, tracking and the undercover for doing his job.
