Hi, guys! Nice project. I have some questions about bounty program, it is clear to me, but when we get the coins for the bounty? Immediately or need to wait for long?

What are you talking about there is no such a bounty campaign for this coin or maybe you posted in wrong thread. First you need to the read OP what is concept or this project and you have to buy this coin from Bittrex if you want some.

These token/bounty posts are all over the threads now thanks to the damn ICO craze.  Every coin is a "token" now, and everyone is wondering "how much profit will be distributed to the token holders".  SMH....

Yes indeed but I will hold it all up to the 500's I want to grab up a bunch more before selling any.

I don't see it falling below 50 even with these annoying forks on btc.

Have my orders there waiting for more in the 50s

Still hold to my views though the devs could inspire a much larger interests with a comment or two on here now and then

Good to see some activity on this thread from people too.

I'm not anti coval but just think it is weird the devs never care to make a single post on this forum where ribbit was originally released.

I'm probably going to hold out for the next 100-150 pump, sell, and buy back.  If the news of Emblem and the burn takes hold though, I might be holding on to hope for the 500+ range too.  I don't think we'll hit the 50s again though, unless BTC goes $7k+, which might be around the corner.  I've been telling friends and family I think BTC will be $8k by xmas, so it may happen.  Interesting time for trading, though.

50% agree on the dev thing, though.  If I was the dev, I would probably want to shed the ribbit baggage and distance myself from the past too.  But it would be nice to have some of those updates here too.  But I think the community providing insight is enough for me, and their normal channels of communication suffice for getting in touch with the devs if needed.

do token holders receive percentage of the platform’s income?

AUR is not part of the ICO craziness going on right now.  It was founded before the token craze.  There's no "income" to be had.  If you buy the coin on the open market, and the price goes up, you make money.  If you buy it, and the price goes down, you lose money.  There's no ICO silliness here.

I am ashamed that I wrote a positive opinion about the COVAL project.  For me, it is important where the coin is traded and with what it is traded.  Coval for a long period of time, sold only on one Bittrex and only with BTC.  This says little trust or mistrust of exchanges, and there is also no community support.  The market is filled with coins, competition has intensified and only the strong win.

I'm ashamed I read that like 4 times trying to understand the point you're trying to make.

If you're just waking up and checking the markets, you'll be happy to see this if you bought at the bottom:

You have to be a bit happy with COVAL now, cryptohunter!  If you bought in the 50's, you're close to doubling your investment now.

Well don't punish yourself for arriving late. You'll surely pick things up in due course and then you will have honed your trading skills and investment prowess to the point of where you will have lots of btc to invest in projects when they are dipping like this Wink

^^ ^just messing btw we all have different views of course..I always appreciate a bit of banter along the way^^^

To me the only projects where the devs have nothing to do with this board are ico's (probable scams ), scams and ethereum (which is could covered but the first two but we dont know yet)

If you guys can show me some other PROVEN functional projects with devs that never visit or even acknowledge this board then perhaps it is not as strange as it appears to be. I mean did they not release ribbit rewards or whatever it was on here initially?

If noobs arriving here see a dead thread where the devs don't even comment then i would likely move to the next thread where i see more activity.

All the proven crypto developers are active here even GM is reachable here.
It is strange to me they don't ever comment on this thread.

I have accumulated another good chunk of coval at these rates but I view it as a real gamble at this point.

If they were active here and installed more confidence there would no doubt be a greater investment and larger community.

NLG for one.  They were part of that group of assholes I mentioned.  They have a decent project, community backing, mass adoption, etc., but they don't talk here.  Rightfully so too, because there are a lot of people that outright hate them, but that's another story.  If you're ever in the market for a physical Guldencoin, let me know... I've got about 150 of them left.

AUR, what I currently work on with the AUR team, is another.  We post updates every now and then, but for the most part, the foundation could care less about BCT.  Their key demographic isn't on here.  They aren't marketing to crypto whales, trolls, and everything in between.  They are aiming to reach the people of Iceland, so their presence here is merely a formality, and one the team was split on for a while.

I agree that more involvement here from the devs might spark interest in the coin, but it would also detract from the project.  Trolls tear every word apart.  Schills devalue the true intentions.  This forum has been, and always will be, the melting pot/cesspool of crypto enthusiasts.  IMO, I'd rather COVAL do it's own thing, and the project stay out of sight for a little while so I can scoop up some additional cheap coins.

Always good to get the banter going, mate!

Blah blah blah...

other projects have devs active on this forum and their threads don't look dead like this one

this forum is the main jumping ground for new crypto enthusiasts

If these devs can't see that then they are short sighted and no wonder this project has delisting like volume on bittrex.

Doing great on bittrex? the low volume or the low price? which is the greatest bit about it?

Your idea of what is and is not doing great is not something I will pay much heed to since you probably heard about crypto a week ago and are not familiar with the other projects here that know how to build a community and interest.

I've heard of these no hype projects before. They died having succeeded fully in generating no hype.

Other projects also have asshole devs that are constantly active on here.  Frankly, I don't care if a dev is active here or not, as long as updates are provided via a social platform of some sort.  BCT is not a prerequisite for a crypto project to succeed.  That's 2014-2015 thinking, during the alt explosion.

The volume is fine.  It consistently jumps to 50+ BTC in volume on the big ebb and flows, so this notion that it will be de-listed is FUD.  Look at the market list on Bittrex, reverse sort by volume, and you'll find 30-40 other coins with worse volume on a constant basis.

As far as whether it's doing good or not, I think it is.  Price is relative to the rest of the market, but it is low.  But tech goals and coding behind this are above par if they deliver on everything their whitepapers promise.  It's a great time to buy based on the BTC exchange rate.  If I had more BTC, I'd be grabbing up more coins.  But that could just be my not knowing about crypto because I only got into it in 2013.  Wink

Cheers,

Fuse

I've gotten out of the busy season at work, and I've got a little more time to spend on projects.  One of the oldest items on my to-do list is working on KDC, giving it the rebirth it has been waiting for.  As such, I'd like to pose a question to the community to see what you all think.

Would you rather see:

A) The existing codebase be updated and the coin continue on the current chain.  Discussions on how to do this would follow if chosen.

or

B) We start fresh with a new coin branded similarly, offer an exchange of coins, close out the old chain, and start fresh with no technical debt.

Ultimately, I'd like to do something with KDC that makes the community here happy, so I'd like to hear people's opinions about what direction they'd like to go.

Auroracoin (Qubit) Mining Pool Hub

https://auroracoin-qubit.miningpoolhub.com

- 0.9% fee
- auto switching according to profitability
- auto exchange to any coin
- US, Europe, Asia servers

Thanks for the new pool, mate.  Just one note.  The pool says 60 second block time, but it's actually targeted at 61 seconds.  I know that's not a huge deal, but I figured I'd let you know.

I have a feeling this is a sleeping giant. It will wake up when people realise what these guys are actually building. I don't think most people in crypto are smart enough to get the concept of COVAL. Slow and steady wins the race everytime. I'm getting some now it's so cheap. Just think about all the shitcoins on Yobit or any of those smalltime exchanges. Coval has just one and it is Bittrex. Think about that.

I'm pretty sure you're right.  I picked up COVAL a while back when it was in the 70-80 sat range, but sold it under 100 when I needed coin for other things.  Weeks later, it went to 300 and I wanted to cry.  I've watched it ever since, considering buying back in when it would dip, but got lazy and never did.

From an investment standpoint, even if you're here for the short term, at the current price, all you need to do is wait a month or so for the semi-regular spike to 140-150 range, and you're making around a 60% profit on the short term.  Think yearly spikes, and you're looking at 400-500%+.  That's just trading without considering the development work that appears to be going on.  Even if the development timeline isn't attractive to everyone, I'll take innovation and consistency over gimmicky updates any day.  Give this one some time, and it will eventually make it out of the fog of ICO releases that seem to be dominating investments at the moment.

Just some info:

Is the dev team aware of the site www.auroramine.com ? It's just another cloud scam, but the name they're using could be somewhat deluding for (potential) Aurora users...

Thanks for the heads up.  I'll be sure to keep an eye on it.  It will most likely fizzle out as the scam is exposed.  I'm sure we'll see other things like this in the future though due to the popularity with the word "Aurora".

Im communicating with several venture capital firms here in cape town with aim of educating them about auroracoin.

Are there any objections to this or constructive comments on how to do it?

Yeah, use another coin.  What do venture capital firms bring to AUR, other than price manipulation that you always try to campaign against by demanding knowing what we own?

Does genisis mines in iceland mine aurora?

Why don't you write them and ask?  I'm sure they have a thread here in the forums as well.

If ethereum changes to proof of stake will the old eth miners be able to mine aurora?

Most ETH miners have already moved to equihash coins after the last difficulty increase.  They can mine AUR if they want on groestl/skein/qubit, but will most likely continue to mine the popular GPU mined coins like ZEC, ZEN, SIGT, etc.

Well, apparently BioMike is working on electrum client port. I'd be happy to help with that. Server itself is less interesting to me. I could talk to kyuupichan (author of electrumx server which I switched to, btw, for my bitcoin and bitcoin cash electrum servers) about how much work a port of electrumx to aur would be and maybe even do it if that's something interesting for the project.

The port for ElectrumX is easy enough.  I've had it running once before on the test server.  We eventually planned to move all the electrum servers over to ElectrumX, but it hasn't really been a priority.  If you want to get a solid forked repo created for it, that would be a good project.  Other than that, the electrum client is definitely something we would love to see completed.  I'm sure Biomike will hit you up to collaborate.

@molecular, you can hit up the test server if you need to.  I'll shoot you the info in PM.

-Fuse

using what client? Where's the repo for electrum client port?

Currently, the only thing we have hitting the servers is the android app and a undisclosed project.  But you can telnet for testing.  The Electrum server wiki talks about the methods to pull info from the server via telnet.

The Hive and Insight servers have been migrated over to our new team hosting account as a first step in our server migration project.  DNS seeds and Electrum servers are next.  These will require a bit more work, as we'll need to update the seed addresses in the core code and push a new wallet release.  The Electrum servers are called by DNS name, so the Android app shouldn't need to be updated.

Electrum servers? Does this mean there's an electrum port? That would be awesome. I can't find it, though.

@molecular, you can hit up the test server if you need to.  I'll shoot you the info in PM.
