41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The way to win in gambling on: December 05, 2018, 07:03:15 AM
Gambling is based on luck. No matter how positive you are when you gamble, it all depends on luck. There's no trick in gambling, that is why it's not good to be addicted to it. In gambling, winning is an objective, that is why the odds of winning in gambling is lesser than losing.

The very fact that there is a house edge advantage means that it will be harder for you to win overall against the house.

Although there are different ways to mitigate the risk, it is just the same, the house will still win above everyone else at the end of the day.

Unless you are lucky.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you feel when win in gambling? on: December 05, 2018, 07:00:15 AM
Before, when I used to play heavily with dice games and executing different strategies, the winning and losing seems to really doesn't matter at all because I was able to get emotionless that time - to stay away from rage betting.

But now, if I win betting on my favorite basketball game, the feeling is so rewarding because aside from your team is winning, I also have something extra coins winning.
43  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fiat or crypto betting in bear market? on: December 05, 2018, 06:57:26 AM
Want your opinion on this guys.

We are situated in a bear market for some time and with a huge crash happened the past 2 weeks.

Do you guys keep betting with crypto and stack your crypto profits or do you prefer to switch to fiat betting and convert fiat winnings in crypto?
Me personally I love to bet on sports, fiat as well as on crypto platforms. However during the crash I switched to betting on fiat bookies for 90% of my bets.
Profits i make at this moment with fiat bookies i use to buy crypto cause of the cheap prices. those converted profits i deposit on crypto bookies and try to make some profits in crypto as well.

Don't know you share the same strategy or rather stick to fiat and/or crypto bookie as you usually do.

That is actually a good strategy there. But for me, I really don't use fiat money with gambling. I don't know, I just feel that fiat is a hard earned money and should not be used for gambling.

Although the value of fiat and crypto should be the same, giving the same value amount, I just feel it that way.
44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Whats your favorite game? on: December 05, 2018, 06:54:05 AM
Out of all the great bitcoin games out there, what is your favorite?

Nothing bets betting on a basketball game - especially if it is my favorite team that is playing.

I used to like dice but it was a costly and very expensive leisure Smiley
45  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble or think it's a waste of money and time? on: December 05, 2018, 06:51:49 AM
Seeing how the odds are pretty often against you in gambling as the gambling services are for making money out of you and not the reverse, do you still decide to gamble? If so, why?

It depends, I usually gamble but with very little money that I can afford to lose.

These time, I just usually do sports betting specifically on the basketball team of my liking.

Whether it wins or not, I am still a happy camper because of the fun of betting a small amount of money and at the same time enjoying the game.
46  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbetting on: October 08, 2018, 11:39:44 AM
But there is no house edge in sports betting and although it's hard to win in the long run but there is a possibility to win.
There is no typical house edge in sports betting but the bookies do have Moneylines and so on such that they do have an advantage over the gambler. Again in the long run in EV+ games its either profitable or not does not depend on how long you are playing but again the luck factor comes in. Your technical anaylsis does work but if luck is not on your side then its as bad a EV- game.

Quote
What do you called the people who are making a living in sports, they constantly win because they are smart and they consider sports betting as a long term business.
You are wrong. They dont win constantly. If you are following tipstars they will only show you their winning bets because they want you to join as their ref so they can make some commissions. That how it works. Cheesy
Pretty simple, there are people who win at sports betting, but these people don't share their tips publicly, why would you share a winning strategy?  Did Coca Colar share their recipe?

In financial trading, you see plenty of videos on how to make money, but you never see anyone sharing all the trades he places, why he places, how he decides his trades, etc. That's common sense. Twitter is full of attention seekers who go through short term success. One of the rare guys I trust is Steve from Daily25 but he does not share his tips, he shares his journey and his vision of sports betting (he is a real professional, I recommend to follow his blog).

You got a good point there.
For new to sportsbetting, gambling, or trading, better master the most basic strategies and then customize it as to where you are comfortable with and where you are profitable.
47  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen if another cryptocurrency took Bitcoins place in Market Cap? on: October 08, 2018, 11:32:00 AM
So what do you think would happen if another Cryptocurrency (Example Monero / Ethereum etc) were to take Bitcoins spot as first in market cap?

I think it only means that, the crypto system is moving and alive, some people are saying that the whole crptosystem is gonna die but because of that happening, we could say that people are still in to cryptocurrency. That is a great news more than a bad one. I believe there are many altcoins that could take bitcoins post any minute, because there are just so many good and promising coins out in the market.

I don't think so that cryptocurrency will going to die at any time soon. Maybe in the future or could be not because its concept is really good compared to the concept of fiat money where there are many regulations from third parties like the banks and the government.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you know its time to sell your altcoins? on: October 08, 2018, 11:24:59 AM
I constantly analyze the coins in which I invest, follow the news and, based on the current situation, decide to sell or keep on. In this case, calculation and analysis are very important.
indeed before taking action you must think well whether it will get a big profit or a big loss or a draw. Seeing the current conditions at very low prices may be better for holding and holding coins, use the opportunity to double coins.

I am checking now that the market has now risen even though only a few percent, hopefully it won't go down again. selling coins should be when prices rise high and I think the market will soon stabilize and can rise high so don't rush to release it before you regret it.

individual coins differ from one another in so far as rising and falling of its price. There seems to be a harmony and waves in the chart as you may notice it. By that, you can determine where you are going to buy because the price is at its low and when to sell when the price reaches its usual peak.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2000$ to invest on: October 08, 2018, 11:18:30 AM
can suggest 2 or 3 coin with good potential and team . no ico .

The only advice I can give you if you’re new is to invest your first money in bitcoin. Learn all about it and then slowly start looking to other projects and get to know all about it before even consideren to throw your money at it

investing in bitcoin nowadays is good but I think it is much wiser to invest to altcoins that are really at a very low price because you can potentially earned bigger once the coin gets some pumping.

Although either ways, you are risking but I think you can get more buy investing at the latter.

Be sure to invest in your learning on investing to cryptocurrencies before doing any big moves.
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does positive thinking affect your edge in gambling on: October 08, 2018, 11:11:35 AM
Yes i think because if you are positive thinker it will helps to boost your confidence in gambling, we should need to think that we can win in every game we played in gambling because if not much better not to engage with it to make your money safe and spend it in other thing or invest it in trading.
Just like the thread that I've read about way of thinking in gambling.

It's just almost the same like this one. If you are using very encouraging words and you are positive mindset in gambling that can affect the way you gamble and it can have a good outcome. But not all the times you can have good results but if ever you end up with a bad day, you can manage to adjust and it won't be feeling to bad for you.

There is no guarantee for a good outcome if you think positive while gambling. It just makes you bet comfortably without much stress. The confidence you get while thinking positively can actually make you bust your balance at the end.

thinking positively is good but it won't really affect the outcome of a game that is based on pure luck. Because most likely, the result of any bets will be always in favor of the house due to the house edge advantage.
51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction. on: October 08, 2018, 11:08:46 AM
Gambling is very exciting because they can enrich a person with just one click.
Before such an opportunity is very difficult to resist and many are hoping with each game to win a very large sum.
Enrich person? well, I don't think so because gambling for me is not suitable I didn't do gambling because of i afraid to lose even a little amount of my money. I know it's not easy to find money that's why I don't have extra money to play in gambling I always valued my money for spending in a good thing. Having a mindset is the best way to avoid addiction to gambling.
That's a good mindset dude, but we can't blame some other people who want to just chill and play with gambling and use some of their money to play with gambling just to have fun with relatives and friends. I don't think there is nothing wrong to play it as long as you know your limitation.

I assume that those people who wants to have fun in gambling with their friends are rich people, because there is no person who lives a normal life that would happily go to gambling everyday just to have some fun even though he knows himself that playing gambling could result on losing money in exchange for entertainment. But the point here is "We are losing money" and money is important, just like what he said it is not easy to be earn so we have to value it more.

Sometimes knowing your limitation is not enough to avoid losing money in gambling, because sometimes you go beyond your limitations just to satisfied yourself.

When the person is saying that he/she is just playing for fun but gambles every single day regularly, I think he is not playing for fun anymore and is just addicted already to gambling and chasing previous loses.
52  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SAFE TRADING METHOD on: October 08, 2018, 10:54:25 AM
You need use only 10% maximum 15% of your money maybe more if you are super prof. daily trader but anyway its very risky in crypto world everything can happen.
10% to 15% of total your total money to make trade is kinda low, well if you are just trying to make things work on crypto 10% would be good to start but then again if you want a full profit out of you decision making and instinct make it for about 30%, it depends on your primary income source to have a capital on this.

if your total assets or cash is worth millions, 10% is really big already after all. In my case, I don't use my personal money to trade - I just used some of my earnings in gambling few years ago (I already stopped gambling) and earnings from the signature campaign.
53  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you still continue? on: October 08, 2018, 10:43:59 AM
I prefer to go home, because playing in depressed circumstances and limited money is not very good. Better the remaining money available for the cost of going home, we can continue to gamble at other times.
It's a sure gamble if you would ever do use your last money to gamble. That's a severe addiction that needs to be addressed and solved soon. I'll not add and wouldn't cause anymore stress by having the decision that will only lead myself to another problem.

That is the problem to these gamblers, they are still hoping to win their gambling games even if they know they will be using their last money that they can use in that time. Even if they don't have money left in their wallets, they keep on insisting to borrow or to get back.

Even gamblers that is not addicted to gambling do that. When gamblers feel that they are lucky, they think that they can still win so they keep on gambling until they use their last money on their pockets. I know that some time, you can feel that you are so lucky and that the house got you, but if you know that it will be your last money, better save it, it might be a trap.
We have no discipline if we keep doing that, it's our emotion that are controlling us which is wrong, it should be our mind.
Our emotion will lead to wrong decision making, gambling is too risky, we need to be contented if we win because if we are greedy, we will end up nothing.

Gambling randomly and aiming for big profit is the culprit of miserable stories about gamblers. There should be proper bankroll and session management coupled with pre-planned betting and profit targets.

This way, emotions tends to be less because you are just following pre-planned bets.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODL or REGRET!!! on: October 08, 2018, 10:41:40 AM
I'm really disappointed with myself now because of Verge. Way back June 2017, I bought $200 worth of XVG and I sold it last week a day before the pump happened. It could be worth more than $5k now if I just HODL. Cry Well, I need to move on and learn from this mistakes. This will be a lesson for me to have patience and wait for the right time to sell my coins. The reason why I sold it was because I need more funds to buy another coin. I'm happy with the coin I bought because I can now see that it is now starting to pump. Maybe, I'm just half disappointed every time I'm seeing the current value of Verge. I bought some XVG again and will surely hold it this time. Smiley I hope that this experience of mine can be a good example for everyone especially the newbies in this community.
I would say hold right now. You must know that there is no coin that can rise all of a sudden. If you choose coins like Prg, Icx and Lisk, they will rise for sure but need time to rise. So hold and do not regret.

if we try to check the all time chart of all coins, the commonality is that, there are always rise and low and some are really big spikes and then quickly goes down. In the previous years, there were really many pump and dump but quite seldom in the current times.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you know its time to sell your altcoins? on: October 08, 2018, 10:38:12 AM
Just wondering if ya'll have a typical formula you go by or a certain X percentage profit or loss.

I've been playing around with coins for just under a month now. $23750 total investment and currently up just under 10k in profit. One of the coins (IOTA) has gone up about 288%.  Obviously it would suck if it crashed but it would equally suck to sell if it continues to grow.

Just wondering what a lot of you folks do. I'm considering investing another 25 or 50k into coins. Ideally I'd like to net 15k a month off them but I know that may not be realistic on a monthly basis.

Some peoples selling their coins when the price is rising about 20% to take a quick profit, but they will selling if their coin price drop to cut loss too.
It will be depends on your activity. If you are a day trader, you will selling your coins whether if its price increased to gain profit, or decreased to cutting loss.

so at the end of the day, it will depend on each individual's trading preference. so when they are a day trader, their goal is very low and quick profit while long term traders have usually the highest profit goal.

This is a fairly common scheme for scammers.
1. Create a website with url very similar to the victim's url.
2. Completely copy the website design of the victim
3. Set up a redirect to the real website after the user logged in.
4. Get yourself tons of logins/passwords.
5. Huh
6. Profit.

pretty clever and creative huh
58  Other / Off-topic / Re: I found bitcointalk.to - NEVER put your login details! on: September 24, 2018, 02:17:13 AM
What a trick Shocked But please explain, if it's related to bitcointalk.org Huh

I am not sure also as of now but I hope all members of the forum get notified or at least be informed to stay away and be more prudent.
Although it is more of a personal responsibility but sometimes, it gets very tricky and any ordinary person will be victimized.

But if it is related to our official forum, nothing to worry about.
59  Other / Off-topic / I found bitcointalk.to - NEVER put your login details! on: September 24, 2018, 01:57:58 AM
Hi all!

I was trying to search fortunejack signature campaign through google and check each results google showed.
I then, later on, realized that it is not from the official bitcointalk forum but it looks really the same.

If this site is not legitimate, don't ever put your login details. I am just worried that it shows on first page of google.
Maybe report it as well so it will be closed right away!

Be careful everyone!

P.S.: if bitcointalk.to is legit and related to our official forum, I am sorry and my mistake. But if it is not legit, let's take it down please so no one will get victimized in case their motive is to get login information of bitcointalk accounts.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you know its time to sell your altcoins? on: September 17, 2018, 10:56:52 PM
The current unstable market conditions. If I sell my coins are of course a little advantage and that I should be looking at a good price. Better coins I hold and invest for the future. A lot of people who said that in December the price of coins will be going up very high. And we will wait until the end of the year.

As to when it will go up, nobody really knows and be certain about it. But one thing I really observe in the market is that everything just goes up and down. And it will be just a matter of determining where is the lowest point of the price so that you can position yourself in a profitable stand.
