42  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Want to start my own faucet on: October 03, 2020, 09:26:46 AM

you can see the faucet script here https://faucetpay.io/page/faucet-scripts

Thanks, I found it -- but like you mentioned on the FaucetPay forum, I also don't have any understanding of how to set it up. There does not seem to be a tutorial or a guide.

How DID you set it up? Can you share?
there is really no tutorial available
at first im also looking for tutorial because i thought it might affect my website
so i make backup first before i upload it in my wordpress
but after you upload the faucet script it is really easy to set up
you just need to get your api in faucetpay add it in your configuration
change the timer and the rewards then set up the captcha then paste the shortcode located in support in a page

Edit : if you are still interested to have your own faucet i make a simple guide here : https://cryptodirectories.com/crypto-directory/crypto-faucet-guide/
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: you're making bitcoin complicated on: October 01, 2020, 01:03:45 PM
im not just babbling that bitcoin is complicated
i can upgrade myself by learning more because im interested in it but what about those not interested
because to be honest bitcoin is really complicated especially to those not interested
i start this topic to learn how to make it interesting and easy and im still in the process
but thanks to the some of the reply i learn some from your opinion

Guys, this is great stuff, thanks so much for the info!

So ... another round of questions based on your input:

1. What if the faucet dispensed alcoins, not BTC? Would that make it more interesting/enticing? And if so, which altcoins would you suggest?

2. How would you get to 1000 views daily to make the ad networks happy? What's the best and safest method in you mind?

BTW, I'm now leaning toward a "private club" faucet where registration is required and manually approved, to fend off bots. That would keep only the serious claimers, no?
if you plan to run a faucet using altcoin you can use faucetpay
the  faucet script is supported with bitcoin and 7 altcoin
i also have bitcoin faucet : https://cryptodirectories.com/faucet
but i also plan to add altcoin faucet in the future
when i start it i didnt even spend bitcoin I just make my direct faucet list and use a-ads with the earning i start my own faucet
you just need to limit the claim of user so that it will not be drain fast by a few user while you are waiting to get paid from referral and ads
im using the wordpress faucet script and it very easy to set up
they also have stand-alone faucet script but i never try it before so i cant give my opinion

You can now add link as Favorite in our Crypto Directory
I've been looking for a way on the "homepage" but had no luck in finding that feature [with and without an account].
- Can you point me in the right direction?
its limited to registered user only
as of now the add to favotire can only be seen in the bitcoin directory, altcoin directory, companies directory and overview.
but i also plan to add it in every category list page

the directory will have additional list this is the example

Visit Crypto Directories Faucet earn up to 100 satoshi every 5 minutes
Don't you think 100 satoshi every 5 minute is too high? Even known faucet sites like freebitcoin, FG, cointiply and FF are not paying this much.
Also, you may face BOT attack on your faucet so you need to have proper security. BTW which plugin you are using for faucet?
100 satoshi every 5 minutes is really high compare to others but i want to continue it like this for now
im using wordpress plugin of faucetpay as of now im not facing any problem with the faucet
plugin of the faucet comes with different way to secure from abuse like limit claims ban user or ip

~snip
Just of curiosity about the stars in your site, is it something like a rating system you have and how it works? Recently I tried out to giving a star at some faucet sites and ICOs (mostly I don't know about the project), looks like strangers such as me can add a star on each site/project without any confirmations, moreover it seem the stars was start at 100 counts on each project, right?

In my opinion these stars are very easy to be abused (espcially in token sales), the owner of the project can send massive people or using a bot to rank up their ratings in the site.
as of now the star(vote) is limited for 1 vote per ip but i can also limit it per user
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Directory on: September 21, 2020, 12:55:28 PM
While I get the gist of your idea, I think that every website might be a bit too much to do. Instead, I'd recommend going through most and choose a feature you want to categorise them by i.e. wallets, content etc. In my opinion this will help keeping you on a much clearer path and not get overwhelmed by mounts and mounts of information.
if you check the bitcoin directory it is really categorize base on the featured of the website like wallet, news, tools, forum etc.
it only have short description right now when mouser hover in the link
but i plan to add more information and build a 1 page bitcoin directory.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Directory on: September 20, 2020, 12:27:10 PM
I wanted to ask how entries get their stars. I clicked on Coindesk which had 106 stars as a news website, and the number did not change to 107 even after I cleared cash. At the same time, the animation after the click suggests that it's been taken into account.
i restrict it with 1 vote per ip its working fine with me but im not sure if it work the same with other user
i will try to look more on it

- The payment processor used by the service (If any). This matters because BitPay and CoinPayments have some countries blocked.
- If the service is LN friendly or not.
- Details about the affiliate program of the site.
- For custudoial services: Is KYC required?
- For wallets: mention if they're custodial or non-custodial.
- Enable disqus comments so people can leave their comments as well.
i add the prohibited country in the link they can see it when they click the red thing in the left side of the Star(Vote)
i will also try to add description specially for wallet to provide more information for user
for individual link comment it will be possible if i will make individual page per link
as of now User can only comment in category list if user click the category name
they will go to a page similar to this where they can leave comment https://cryptodirectories.com/payment-gateway

56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Directory on: September 20, 2020, 10:09:11 AM
you should remove bitcoin.com since it is a BCH leaning forum. Once a newbie signs up on their website. They will sometimes send mails to an email used for registering into their forum and claim that BCH is the real Bitcoin thereby confusing Newbies into buying their shitcoin
Thanks for the information i remove bitcoin.com in the list

By the way, I saw there we can add links but we need to create an account in the website. In here, after we can add link, it will automatically published in the website? Or there will be some review will happen or vote before it can be listed?
when user add link i review the link manually

Is this bitcoin specific though? just double check about r/Bitcoin vs r/BTC there's a lot of drama amongst those subreddits claiming who's the real BTC.
yes the directory is specific for bitcoin only but i also have Altcoin Directory
im not aware about the r/bitcoin and r/btc which is the real bitcoin and which is for bch?

also thanks for the encouragement from the other reply.
