It appears that I am somewhere between "activism" and "left-libertarian." what ever that means. I'm just a tad bit left of center and a tad bit below center.

I'd hate to live in your household.

Actually, we're not really the best at anything; but we're the best of people; yall wish you were us. Except for those damned ruskies for some reason. Weird white bears on unicycles them bastards.

Bring out the dirt; please. Transparency is always best. Dump all the names. Does the name "Pence" mean much to you?

Leak all the $ecЯ3t5.

China is cool to be fair, their tech development is amazing.

403  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should US police be abolished and replaced with systems that provide safety? on: December 01, 2018, 09:26:52 PM
I didn't read your whole post because I'm being uber lazy; I was thinking about implementation of a globalized "police" force already. Replace not only police, but merge in military.

Pretty much; split the responsibilities into multiple factions "white knights" and "black knights".

Pretty much white knights are unarmed; non-lethal carrying investigative forces that serve to witness, investigate, patrol. They handle domestic disputes and work together seamlessly and effectively. These units work in grounds, and each individual wears a real-time internal-broadcasted body camera (to other white knights) that has videos released 24 hours after the fact.

I suppose because our current implementation of data privacy is ass balls, we'd hide that footage behind basic FOIA requests; in a more public-data driven world, we'll just release them via API requests (aka, sign in using your government identity, hit a specific URL, and watch it).

The other force, the "black knights" are literally the brute force; only Judges that have authorized white knight requests can absolutely be deployed. These guys are straight up acting military units. Rules of engagement apply, and their mission is assigned / approved by a judge.

Because a judge is required to sign the authorization of deployment, the video footage is only utilized in that specific case and not released to the general public except through some sort of FOIA request. This could be possibly footage of combat between a "terrorist" type faction and the state.

===

It's a bit different, but pretty much it's just unarming police, and bringing in military to do actual policing.

White knights would obviously have a slightly dangerous job; but being captured on filming killing a white knight without a mask seems like a good way to end up dead (because the black knights will capture you,  alive, but probably preferably dead just because attacking a brother). Masks easily beat cameras; but with several cameras and a few drones, incidents could be tracked fairly seamlessly.
404  Other / Politics & Society / Re: House Democrats unveil their first bill in the majority. Targeting corruption! on: December 01, 2018, 01:46:54 PM
The fight against corruption should be universal. I don't see how any party can be against such fight and still stand. They don't want to be known as pro corruption, do they?

Of course, Instead of being straightforward against the bill, they might make up excuses as to what is "wrong" with the bill. That it doesn't solve anything, it is too long, too short or whatever. My imagination is not that good so I will watch and see.

This is going to be exactly it. Even though they'll demand bipartisanship; Democrats will fold to all GOP demands effectively neutering the bill.

I mean what ever is going on is irrelevant, if the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA can't solve the epstein case, it's defcon 0 in china.

You do know the justice and political systems of America were purposely built to be slow? Right? This way, innocent individuals aren't sentenced to jail.

Once the Trump administration falls, more crimes will be found in the Trump administration. Pretty sure they were serious about "draining the swamp" by filling the White House and associated positions with their dirty individuals.

This anti-corruption bill will help out Smiley

Make a go fund me page maybe we can raise enough funds to send you there for free!

I think you got that backwards. Spendulus should pay us dividends from his future tourism&casino business on North Sentinel. Tremendous opportunity that wouldn't exist if not for our support and encouragement.

I'm sure he'll be able to convince these people of converting to these profitable, capitalist ways peacefully without having to murder most of them; need to keep a few alive to be workers for SpeduCasino and Resort.

I don't really get what there's even to discuss about this particular issue.

The guy knew the Indian law (place from which he travelled), violated said law.

The guy also knew the dangers of going and had requests assuming those dangers would occur.

If I were a theist that believed in "hell for suicide"; I guess "would be go to hell" the same way a person who commits "suicide by cop" does? Overall there's not really to discuss.

If someone were to try to walk into a secured site and was killed would we be talking about it here like we're talking about this?

I'm sure people have gone a little bit too far in Nevada trying to check out area 51 and got killed for doing that.

Restricted areas exist in this world; I'm not fond of restricted areas myself.

But like why is society still talking about this? There's so much going on in the world...
407  Other / Politics & Society / Re: House Democrats unveil their first bill in the majority. Targeting corruption! on: November 30, 2018, 08:54:11 PM
LOL you can bet the GOP sure as shit won't like this hahaha, There is already too many people voting and even more voters in general is disastrous for the GOP and they fucking well know it!

The article mentions isn't unlikely to pass due to the GOP control of the Senate. Really, it just highlights how Democrats are working to fix corruption while the GOP is actively working to encourage corruption.
408  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Solar energy is the future. I want to save my planet!! What about you? on: November 30, 2018, 08:17:24 PM
For anyone interested, I did some follow up with the companies offering $0.40/watt used solar panels. They aren't nearly as great of a deal as they make them out to be, but they are still better than expected.
I still affirm my position that solar panels are somewhat of a waste at the moment, but in theory they are a good idea, and give it some time and they'll be worthwhile. On a side note, I'd be curious what the environmental impact is for the production of the solar panels in the first place, for those that care.

Shipping is $0 if you pick 'em up (they're a fairly local company from what I was told). Average Americans pay $0.10 per kwh. Technically, it really depends on area for solar energy; but throughout the year, it's 4.5 hours of sunlight in my area (for solar, data from my town's solar farm).

The numbers are there to make energy ROI worth it; even more so if you purchase the solar panels on a loan and pay it back as though you're paying a utility bill. Eventually the loan is paid off and you get a few years of free energy.

I used to be anti gun before gun people convinced me that mass shootings and gun violence were actually more of a mental health and emotional well-being issue.  Police create a lot of the trauma that leads to gun violence.

Arming citizens is actually pretty important. Pretty sure that's part of Marx theology.

Quote
To be able forcefully and threateningly to oppose this party, whose betrayal of the workers will begin with the very first hour of victory, the workers must be armed and organized. The whole proletariat must be armed at once with muskets, rifles, cannon and ammunition, and the revival of the old-style citizens’ militia, directed against the workers, must be opposed. Where the formation of this militia cannot be prevented, the workers must try to organize themselves independently as a proletarian guard, with elected leaders and with their own elected general staff; they must try to place themselves not under the orders of the state authority but of the revolutionary local councils set up by the workers. Where the workers are employed by the state, they must arm and organize themselves into special corps with elected leaders, or as a part of the proletarian guard. Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary. The destruction of the bourgeois democrats’ influence over the workers, and the enforcement of conditions which will compromise the rule of bourgeois democracy, which is for the moment inevitable, and make it as difficult as possible – these are the main points which the proletariat and therefore the League must keep in mind during and after the approaching uprising.

Opt-out rather than opt-in is a huge game changer in of itself. Let alone all the other changes...

$150/month for slave work and dorm bunk bed, yeah, they live much better than people in North Korea.

What a waste of time.  Lost opportunities; these young people will regret their decision one day.

35 hour work weeks. There are people who work 60 hours a week in America, and have less leftover than these individuals (after all expenses are paid).

Not to mention; work can include stuff like pole fishing, it doesn't seem to bad to be honest.

To be fair, editing human children might be a bit dangerous; but as long as we observe the effects, it should be fine.
415  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Solar energy is the future. I want to save my planet!! What about you? on: November 30, 2018, 02:55:01 PM
ppl talking about "save the planet"...we are not even close to understanding the planet yet...and we cant even save ourselves from the stupid shit that we do every day...the mathematical fact is, every living human being on the earth could stand in the city of los angeles....rest of the world totally empty...my point? we are not as important as some may think..."But the level of CO2 is going up!"...the relative atmospheric concentration of gases has been in constant flux for, oh....ever!!...why must we believe for a minute that it has to remain static at pre-industrial level for the rest of time...the only constant is change..."But CO2!!"...here's an idea, forget about the century that we spent getting mercury out of the hands of children....lets make cfl's cuz we believe they may reduce CO2 emissions...oh ya, and possibly because jeffrey immelt had the ear of the lawmakers for years...sooner or later we all have to come to grips w/ the 2nd law of thermodynamics (or some form thereof)...making the tesla, the solar panel, etc, etc is, in the long run, going to make just as big a mess (if not bigger) than doing it the old fashioned way...only difference being, you dont see the mess...it ends up in some river in china or africa

Highlights the issue of super dense areas.

Overall, climate change is caused by humans; look at the radical change in the last 100 years as opposed to the previous 10000 years. Earth doesn't have a radical history of change; but slow gradual change.

I originally started a thread in off-topic, but it got shit tier replies. Also, I think political compass is more closely related to politics and society.

My results:

Comparing that against:

I'm anarcho-socialism. Another name for this would be anarcho-syndicalism.

I'm willing to bet we'll see a lot of libertarian individuals here, both from the right and the left. I think we'll also see several authoritarian individuals too.

417  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A Question to Atheists ? on: November 30, 2018, 01:23:50 PM
Ah yes, this is like Pascal's Wager

Richard Dawkins, a well-known atheist, proposed a way to win this wager. He postulated the idea that God might reward those who have an honest disbelief in God and actually punish those who have faith in God blindly. He reasoned that the Supreme Being would surely value honesty and logical reasoning, and see no value in blindly following others' beliefs.

I'm amazed anyone is convinced by Pascal's Wager; it's so binary. Hajek's objective is a rejection of this binary choice by introducing additional Gods into the story.

f you believe in God A, God B may damn you after death because God A is fictitious. God B may not punish a non-believer as hard as a false-worshiper.

Quote
Hajek was one of the first people to push "mixed strategy" objection. The idea is that if we try to force Pascal's wager into our formalisms for calculating expected utility, then there are many options which will each have infinite expected utility. Some examples: believe in God; flip a coin, and believe in God if it's heads; roll a 1,000,000-sided die, believe in God if it's a 2, and otherwise cut off your legs; etc. And (as stated) the argument can't say why we should go with the first option.

I hope the Russian troops get rekt by Ukraine soldiers. I'm willing to bet for each Ukrainian soldier defending their homeland, it'll take 5 Russians to kill.

Then again, looking at the KDR of American Commandos last time Russia attacked with their weak mercenaries, they got absolutely destroyed.

Ukraine should invite in a ship parade in the Sea of Azov and grant permission to blow the fuck out of anything that stands in the way from doing the parade.
