401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should Ethereum Add the "Frozen Wallet" Feature for Certain Adresss? on: November 05, 2019, 09:37:32 AM
Like you said, this would turn it from "decentralized" to "Centralised" because the whole point of a decentralised Currency is to remove the powers from one person or a group of persons and put it in the hands of the people, if one person or a group of persons has the authority to freeze the assets in any wallet if their choice then it wouldn't be a fair system, would it? And if you put it in the hands of everyone, people would start locking the wallets of anyone they hate just for the fun of it, this is not fair too.
402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoin ever Become Physical coin ? on: November 05, 2019, 09:17:52 AM
I think you are missing the whole point entirely, why should it be called a "digital currency" when it was meant to be physically printed? Moreover there are just 21 million BTC and all of them has not been mined yet and there are billions of people in the world and this means that very few people has ever owned 1 BTC to begin with, the currency would be useless without it's denominations (satoshi) and I just don't see how that would work out because if you have a coin worth $10,000 and you want to purchase $100 worth of goods in a store, how do you colllect your change when you pay with the bitcoin physical coin? You get your change in dollars? It just wouldn't work, it's meant to be digital and would always remain digital.
403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] Phishing Blockchain.info on: November 05, 2019, 09:10:57 AM
The best way to avoid the issue of phishing is to bookmark your most visited or sensitive websites (sites where you have to input your private information especially those financially related like your private keys), take your security very seriously, it's a sad fact that many people still fall for phishing schemes in this day and age but we are all humans and we make mistakes.

Quote
The best practice to prevent Phishing links like this, is to type those url yourself and not to click on any url's.
This is one of the reasons why people fall for phishing sites, most of their domain names are made to look almost like the real thing so while typing, you might make a mistake and get the spelling wrong and it takes you straight to a phishing site and because you typed it yourself, you likely won't even double-check, we have to make allowances for human errors.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there daily-life applications for Sexcoin? on: November 05, 2019, 08:48:26 AM
This is the Bitcoin Discussion Section and should is strictly dedicated to the discussion of Bitcoin, if you want to discuss any alternative coin, you should do it in the appropriate section of the forum, you should move this thread to the Altcoin Discussion section here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you waste your time for 5 cents worth of bitcoin? on: November 05, 2019, 08:42:32 AM
It would take a month to make enough to pay for the transaction fee to transfer the tokens to your personal wallet so I don't think it's worth it, but since involves just pressing a button to earn it, I think many people would go there to claim it daily although I don't see what the owners would be gaining from it unless they plan to flood it with ads like faucets that makes it a big headache for users to claim the airdrop daily.
406  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 things you need to know before trading crypto on: November 05, 2019, 08:36:15 AM
You didn't mention the most important quality you need to have
Patience: don't rush into any trades and you have to have lots of patience to sometimes know when to continue a trade and when to abandon it and move on, many people has lost funds because of impatience and I happen to be one of them, I rushed to sell too early because I didn't have the patience to wait for the trade to mature, sometimes it could be that you bought a token and it dips immediately and you know that it's almost certain that it would rise back but impatience could make you sell low and move to another trade.
407  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any reason to day trade anything other than bitcoin? on: November 05, 2019, 08:29:22 AM
You have to consider that Bitcoin and Ethereum has such huge volumes because they are major trading pairs in almost a exchanges, so someone might decide to trade one shitcoin in an obscure exchange but it would still count in the volume of Bitcoin bacause the person traded it in the bitcoin pair, but when you see the volume of other alts like XLM, you know it's people who specifically traded XLM that the volume is showing so it would be a bad idea to judge by volume, short term trading is good for almost all major alts, not just Bitcoin because their prices are also flunctuating exactly like Bitcoin is.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: don't rely on gift tokens, balance your time with other things. on: November 04, 2019, 06:45:50 AM
First of all, I don't see tokens obtained via bounty campaigns are "gift tokens" because it's payment for a job well done and it has not been given to me freely, unless you are referring to another thing entirely, anyways I am a huge fan of not putting all your eggs in one basket and I have always felt that it's necessary to have multiple sources of income especially in this Cryptocurrency space because the market is just so volatile and you could get lucky one day from one of the things you do, don't depend on just one source of income in this space diversify as much as you can too.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALTCOIN IS IN LINE WITH THE HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF PAYMENT SYSTEM on: November 04, 2019, 06:38:29 AM
From the first moment I discovered bitcoin in the beginning of this decade, I knew in my heart that this was the next step in the evolution of money and even though this was it's taking it's sweet time to be actualised, I have never doubted for a second that it will eventually happen, now the Chinese Government sees Blockchain as "Important in the future development of China" and this is just the tip of the iceberg because many more countries would still review Cryptocurrency and decide that it's in their best interest to get into the future if money in this early stage.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Important Is It To Create An Announcement Thread For New Startup? on: November 04, 2019, 06:29:35 AM
There are some projects that didn't create any announcement threads but they still did well but you have to always aim to reach as many audience as possible when you are trying to kick-start your project, some people do not trust any project that does not have an ANN thread in Bitcointalk and moreover it's free advertising anyways so I didn't my see a reason why you shouldn't go for it, an ANN thread also gives your community members the opportunity to ask questions directly from the. Bitcointalk forum if they don't want to visit your telegram group.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Institutional Investors suffer from FOMO? Huge inflow in Q3 :o on: November 04, 2019, 06:24:01 AM
Ofcourse they suffer from FOMO too because they are human, everybody has been anticipating the altszn and many institutional investors are hoping to get in at the beginning of the pump so that they could make the most profit, infact they are anticipating it more than the average Cryptocurrency Enthusiast because they have much more money to invest and so they are hoping to make much more profits, the last one didn't work out, let's see if the next bullrun would trigger the altszn.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover on: November 04, 2019, 01:14:23 AM
Ofcourse you cannot judge a coin simply because you don't like the design of it's logo, the Sero which you used as an example might not have the best graphics designer in it's team but they already have a fully functional blockchain infrastructure before the launch of their IEO in gate Exchange, in the Cryptocurrency space, it's not about how much noise you make, it's about how much code has been written by you, the Crypto space has passed that stage where projects grow only by hype alone.
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WILL Bounty campaigns Ever Keep to their Rules and Regulations on: November 04, 2019, 01:09:47 AM
There are still projects out there who stick to their initial promises and timeline but unfortunately, they are few and far between, the sad fact about it is that there is no way for you to product the evil projects until it's too late to do anything about it, you could do your research and discover that a project is possibly the best you could hope for (good and active team, solid usecase, working product) and when it comes time for the campaign to end, they extend it and at that point, there is nothing that can be done about it, I recently saw a campaign that increased duration from 4 weeks to 5 months and that was after the campaign ended, so now participants has to choose either to waste the 4 weeks of work and remove the signature for 4 extra months or if they want to retain the signature and keep promoting the project for 4 more months. There are still good ones out there, but they are few
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [IEO] VELIC - Crypto Finance Ecosystem, Secure by Design on: November 03, 2019, 09:14:21 PM
A project that started with so much potential and hit the ground running, it's too bad that a single decision was able to almost cut off the trading volume overnight but judging by the updates I have received from the team via email, it seems they are back on track and working hard to deliver on their promises by launching the other products that makes up the Velic Ecosystem.

What I wanna know is why Velic does not list the toke a after they hold their IAO in their exchange? And there was this IAO that was postponed, would their IAO still hold eventually in the Velic exchange?
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will IEO be good in the future? on: November 03, 2019, 08:50:43 PM
Speaking from the future, I just want to tell all of you all in the past that IEOs didn't last as long as ICOs and it didn't give the kind of huge profit that ICOs used to give,  Angry
But on a serious note, I was expecting IEOs to last a lot longer because the reputable exchanges were very selective in the kind of projects they list and they made it kinda exclusive to a particular kind of people (whales) to participate, so the short run on IEOs is quite disappointing, anyways the Cryptocurrency sphere is changing and we are moving past that stage of tokensales and entering the stage of project development.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth investing in Metal (MTL)? on: November 03, 2019, 08:45:39 PM
If you want to invest in a project, let it be for the right reasons and the right reasons in this case is that you have researched the hell out of the project and feel that it would stand the test of time and meets all your standards, if you are asking a bunch of strangers if you should invest in the coin, I think it's a good indication that you have not even done your own due diligence on it,.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mistakes developers keeps making on: November 03, 2019, 08:40:26 PM
I think the biggest problem that most project have are the team members themselves, you will see them working so hard before their tokensale because they were still searching for funds but once they get those funds, they would just lose interest fast and that's when they start making the stupid mistakes because it seems what they want is just to kill the project so that investors would lose interest and move on, what I am trying to say is that the only thing that needs to change is the mindset of project teams, if they have sufficient love for their project, they wouldn't do anything to jeopardize it's success even if it's excess bonus to investors
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges that conduct IEOS You should stay away from ? on: November 03, 2019, 08:35:06 PM
LATOKEN is definitely the king of shitty exchanges to conduct an IEO, they seem to list about 2 new IEOs on a daily basis. Another exchange you should be wary of when it comes to conducting IEOs is IDAX exchange, I am very disappointed with this exchange be ause it was one of my favourite exchanges at a time, but they seem to just start declining and went down fast. Third should be P2PB2B, it's not much better than the aforementioned exchanges too. Probit Exchange isn't too popular but they are also active in IEOs, the sheer amount of IEOs listed there is amazing.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea discuss the possibility to give crypto a legal status on: November 03, 2019, 08:27:47 PM
South Korea has always been viewed as one of the most Cryptocurrency friendly countries in the whole world, I am surprised when I saw this news because I was thinking that Cryptocurrencies were already legal in the country, atleast it's not illegal because South Koreans are one of the biggest investors in the space and even the biggest messaging service (Kakao talk) had their own Cryptocurrency project, I would play my own part though.
420  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Christian men marry more than one wife? on: November 03, 2019, 08:17:35 PM
I'm the old testament, Polygamy was supported and even encouraged but as humans we tend to take advantage of every situation we find ourselves in and that is why a man with power married 709 wives and still had 300 concubines on top, even if he rotates his wives and concubines, he wouldn't be able to visit anyone twice for 3 years, that's human excess.

The new testament is quite different, "what God has joined together, let no man out assunder" is as good as any confirmation that a man should be monogamous, because a second wife can definitely out assunder between a married couple, we might all read the same thing but like we all know, it's open to interpretation depending on each individual.
