Crypto is fickle  BTC's recent rise probably accounts for a lot of it. Then people see other alts going crazy and want a piece of the action. Long term, value has to be driven by meaningful real-world activity. Otherwise it's just the same old zero-sum greater fool game. |

As escrow for Waves for encryptotel I think that the right solution would be to set a buy wall with a part of extra funds invested after the ICO cut-off time. I can see that the most investors understand that the extra funds will be used to develop the project, and will make it better. So it's a win win situation for everybody. Some people try to create drama where there's not any. If you're unsatisfied with this ICO you'll have an opportunity to sell into the buy wall. Yesterday a voting was suggested, but I don't see why it should be better than the buy wall solution.
I agree. A buy wall is a good option, so everybody stayed calm. This seems like the best solution. Let those cash out who want to. |

Blockchain is been overload with around 100k unconfirmed transactions. Btc price is been up more than what it was expected. All altcoins are going high too. Is it going to be age of altcoins or are they going to collapse soon?
This is what I'm trying to understand too...some say that alts will grow up exponentially together with Bitcoin, some others say that alts will collapse together with inflated Bitcoin, where is the truth? Nobody knows People think all alts are the same because they can't be bothered to look more closely and figure out the difference, like watching a herd of penguins and claiming they can't tell them apart. There's been an update from the EncryptoTel team - I'd suggest following their BCT thread.
Given the exchange rate volatility, which is mostly what carried them over the $3m line, the decision to extend seemed like a good one. It looks like they were as surprised as anyone when a massive investor came in at the end like that!
I'd be interested to know what the fiat value of the funds would be as per the exchange rates at the beginning of the ICO.

This was not something the team could have foreseen. The decision to give a 24-hour grace period was good: with BTC and WAVES so volatile, just the rise in the markets would have triggered the end of the crowdsale, only to have the risk of the total dropping back to $2.7 million or so not long afterwards. No one could know that a massive whale would come in like that.
Frankly it's a difficult situation to negotiate. If the whale had come in at $2.99m, then that last $1m would have to have been accepted anyway.
So far the team has proven highly professional and competent. And this was an unintended consequence of doing the right thing. So it's worth being more constructive about any criticism.

I would just like to say thank you to everyone that had faith in WAVES and has held this long. Like any successful coin, the beginning was filled with nothing but fear and doubt. Now we are fast approaching 2X ICO price. Nuff said.

I think people need to be a little careful about their timing. If you're waiting for the end to put in a deposit (seems like a classic ICO strategy to deposit in the last week), there's the risk that BTC and WAVES' rise will cause the crowdsale to top out at $3m and close. TL;DR don't miss the boat.

Hi, Really interesting coin. Real economy related projects. $5,000,000 may be a low supply, and lead to a rise in value, which is something we don't especially hate  . With today's Bitcoin/USD pricing, it will be an approximately 30-31 millions coins ICO. Nobody knows what will be the price on 1 st October, so the numbers above are completely unreal.
