401  Economy / Gambling / Re: 👑 CoinRoyale.com - Original Bitcoin Casino | Trusted Since 2013 ✔️ on: November 21, 2023, 01:02:11 AM
Could I know why the contest is hosted by that user Peanutswar?

I don't mean it is bad but I would like to know more information about this. Like is Peanutswar a member of CoinRoyale team?

Or was is hired by the team to host the contest?

I guess the second possibility is slim because if Coin Royale team hire a Bitcointalk member to host it, they can go with icopress or they can simply host it by themselves with their representative account in Bitcointalk.

The information is very needed, to avoid scammers open a thread, host a contest and run. It will be harmful for CoinRoyale reputation.

404  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why Localbitcoin take this action ? on: November 16, 2023, 02:53:49 PM
My first bitcoin buy from Local Bitcoin and it was my favorite p2p site. But I don't understand why and what is the main reason to closed buy/sell service by local bitcoin? Huh
It is since February and now you talked about it. You are too late to realize about their service closure.

LocalBitcoins Exchange Closed After 10 Years of Operation.

It is not only LocalBitcoins, there are some P2P platforms closed their services too like Paxful, 2 months after LocalBitcoins.

Paxful is shutting down

They did it by stricter regulations. Even Kucoin required mandatory KYC a few months after that.

Before LocalBitcoins and Paxful, there is another one in October 2022, Localcryptos.
LocalCryptos is shutting down

406  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Mexc Stop Limit Error ? on: November 16, 2023, 02:45:32 AM
This is normal or "abnormal" in some exchange and trading pairs, especially if the market is volatile. In the recent days, XRP is known to have scam wicks that can trigger your stop limit order and get the order executed at a different market price.

Maybe this was the case… though you didn't present the problem well.
If the position is in Spot, it is not a big issue because if the trend is bullish, you can buy again and enjoy a run. A trend is a friend, with Spot trading.

If it is a position in Margin, Futures, it will trigger very terrible loss. Liquidation will almost eat up major part of collateral so that it's hard to buy again and enjoy profit even the trend will continue to be bullish.

With small users, no way to complain and get money back. Their voices, complains through support tickets will be void and small users have no money to bring those cases to the court. Exchanges with too many 'bugs' like this will gradually self harm their reputation and they will lose customers with time. Many years ago, Poloniex lost their users this way to Bittrex then Binance in 2017.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can happen next time due to a lack of proper knowledge about Bitcoin? on: November 16, 2023, 02:41:17 AM
I don't see this is a valid reason because for me, having knowledge of Bitcoin is always free, with no requirements or even who are you, or what your status in life is, you can always have knowledge of Bitcoin, even the basics or cores.
It doesn't mean you can't own or buy Bitcoin, you cannot learn anymore what is Bitcoin as Bitcoin is not only for investment.
With Internet, flat world, globalization and more fortunately with open source projects, like Bitcoin, there are more free sources to learn. Nowadays, people don't have to go to schools, universities with expensive fees to learn many things.

Blockchain, Bitcoin can be learned with free sources, no money have to spend for those educational resources.

408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High fees are not bitcoin's destinty on: November 15, 2023, 10:18:13 AM
Paying for block space will always need to be a thing for Bitcoin to survive long term. The cost of that space will likely depend on the value provided. During times of calamity, I could see Bitcoin becoming very expensive to use. Maybe $100 for a transaction. Other times when block space may not be as valuable, it will cost less. This supply and demand bidding will be more and more important as block rewards are reduced.
It is a speculative game for investor, trader, miner and user. It is a beauty of Bitcoin that makes it attractive and unpredictable. A market is volatile and it needs unpredictable things to continue volatile in future.

Hash rate shocks, difficulty shocks, mempool congestion, spike in transaction fees and certainly we will have many news around it. It gives a space for news to play its role in this market and if a user has patience, he can enjoy better fee rates than users who don't have patience, knowledge and plan for transactions.
409  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Mexc Stop Limit Error ? on: November 15, 2023, 10:12:54 AM
As you can see in the screen shots I set the stop limit for XRP to 0.6263 and for some reason it activated and sold when the price was actually around 0.6298 why did it do that ?
I'm new at this, but this is the first time I have seen it happen.  here is screen shot links
It is the guide from MEXC
What is Stop-Limit order?

I don't know the chart screenshot is from MEXC. Did you take it from MEXC or from Trading view?

Sometimes it happens on exchanges and they will have many reasons to say sorry about that like price is just not displayed correctly, whatever reason. As a small user, you will not go hard to bring them to court and lawsuit so make sure you won't use leverage and lose money on centralized exchanges.
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happens, hold on to your Bitcoin. on: November 14, 2023, 06:26:12 AM
Well, if the SEC denies the application for a Bitcoin ETF, nothing significant will happen.. because those companies will just review their applications and apply again or they will opt to invest in Bitcoin directly.
Bitcoin Spot ETF applications don't appear in this year 2023 but it was applied many times in the past years. If this year, next year, those applications won't get approvals, those companies will do like you said, continue to apply again in future.

We also have the Bitcoin Halving that will also help to boost the demand and also the price of bitcoins. The conflict in the Middle East will also increase the demand for bitcoins, because investors are dumping money into investments that are seen as something with a store of value.
It is more important for Bitcoin growth than Bitcoin Spot ETFs. Many years, without Bitcoin Spot ETFs, Bitcoin still succeeded to attract new capital into Bitcoin market with each halving and bull run cycle. Bitcoin Spot ETFs are expected to bring more capital to this market but without those ETFs, we will continue to have more capital flow in this market before and after the halving in 2024.

We might have a series of approval for many Bitcoin Spot ETFs at the same time or have nothing at all.

411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 14, 2023, 01:56:32 AM
Group F is still open to every kind of surprise. Even the last placed team can finish as leader. I mean Newcastle by saying that. Because Milan were also doing really bad by not scoring a single goal but this PSG win made them start to believe in for last 16 stage. PSG are still not trustworthy at all.

Because the inconsistencies in their performance continues. They are quite dependent on Mbappe's score contribution I'm afraid. I don't see them playing good very often when Mbappe doesn't perform strikingly well. I don't know if PSG can make it to next stage by playing like this.  Sad
There are very minor differences amongst all clubs in this group and with last two match days, rankings can be changed a lot. Differences are very slim from their point gaps to goal differences.

Champions League Group F standings

From a first to fourth standings, point difference is only 3 points that can be covered after only one match. Goal difference is only 1 or 3 goals and again it can become nothing after one match day.

Dependence on one player harms every team, and this is a situation that harms PSG as well. If Mbappe is on his day, they play very well, but if he plays badly, the player options that will make an extra contribution to the team are limited. The possibility of each team becoming the leader in Group F continues. If PSG is lucky, they will come out top of the group.
Mbappe is a single player and even he is a brightest star in PSG, he can not carry PSG to a win if other players in his club can not play well enough. He can do his tasks well in attacking by scoring goals for PSG but PSG need good performances from midfielders to defenders and goalkeeper to win a match. Especially in Champions League, where competitiveness is very high, a single player is not a guarantee for a club success.
412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need your contribution and opinion on: November 14, 2023, 01:46:33 AM
I have a little knowledge but I need a guide. Bought some cryptocurrency like XRP and Bitcoin. Currently people only talk about Bitcoin but the price is very high for me to afford investing in it. I don't know why I feel like it's the only cryptocurrency worth investing and I would love to try  but am still learning gradually about it.
I would vouch for the opposite. There are more altcoin enthusiasts than Bitcoin enthusiasts and they shill altcoins more seriously than shill Bitcoin.

For your investment question, when you spend money to invest, you have to mind about two things: risk and benefit, from the capital you spend for an investment.

About risk, Bitcoin has smaller risk than altcoins. Smaller but it is still risky so if you are not accept risk, can not afford to lose your money, don't invest even in Bitcoin.

About profit, Bitcoin is best in long run because so far, with each market bull run every four years, Bitcoin always makes its new all time high. It's hard for you to find altcoins that can make their new all time highs with new market bull runs. In general and long run, Bitcoin gives you best profit.
413  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to read the screenshots traders post. An example. on: November 13, 2023, 09:51:41 AM
However, look at estimated liquidation price. It is 2.462 USD. I mean DOT was never at that price. The lowest price for DOT was ~3.58 USD on October 19, 2023. And given that these days markets are green, is there really a chance that DOT will make it all the way down to 2.462 USD? Kind of very safe bet? No?
Cryptocurrency market is volatile and there is no Circuit Breaker like stock market.

With leverages for your Margin trading position, don't say NEVER.

Because everything can happen, price can crash not because of natural supply and demand but by price slippery movement or worse Cascade effect. You will not have enough time to understand what happen and when you realize the crash, you already lost money by forced liquidation.

Only one example Ethereum flash crash in 2017.

414  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to read the screenshots traders post. An example. on: November 13, 2023, 01:58:37 AM
There's nothing important about that screenshot that can help you in your trading journey, to be honest, he's just flexing his successful entry on that certain coin. But based on that screenshot, he knows what he's doing, because of his leverage and margin. You can also figure out that he has a big funds so using a low leverage to play it safe using cross margin is still profitable unlike when you only have a very small funds.
Using big fund as a collateral for your cross margin account and your margin position look safely but it is safe only in normal conditions.

If assets in your big fund have serious problems like Terra token (LUNA, UST) or FTX exchange token (FTT), I am sure your big fund will become small fund and your collateral will become small enough to cause you a forced liquidation by exchange.

Honestly Margin is always risky and don't think with a big fund, you can be safe with Margin.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 13, 2023, 01:52:18 AM
One thing to remember when dealing with strangers over the internet especially when you're desperate on the issues you're facing, is never to share any of your financial information like keys, password, and anything that's confidential.
A stranger who sends you a personal message first is a flag and you have to be more careful with any chat with that stranger.

Be very careful with links, documents, files sent to you by any stranger. They can be phishing links, malicious files. Prevention by avoid clicking on links, not download those files is best.

If a stranger asks for sensitive information: personal documents, information, account passwords, seed phrases, private keys, money. You have to refuse to do it, ignore and block that stranger as soon as possible.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the scalability of the Bitcoin Blockchain be enhanced without sacrificing on: November 12, 2023, 10:45:10 AM
I think BTC transaction fees are very cheap compared to others, to move funds of $100,000-$1,000,000 or even more. Maybe if we use wire it will cost more than the bitcoin fee.
You can compare them with real data and charts.
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactionfees-btc-eth-doge-xrp-ltc.html#3y
https://blockchair.com/compare (Choose altcoins you want to compare with Bitcoin)

And I think Bitcoin fees are still relatively reasonable with increasing adoption and the number of transaction fees are still relatively cheap, in contrast to Ethereum which has unreasonable transaction fees, because I haven't followed and found out about ETH for a long time, what actually makes ETH have such high transaction fees. ?
Ethereum is a paradise for scam projects that can easily hype greedy people. When those people become greedy, they will naturally join a transaction fee race with other people just to want to get their transactions have quick confirmations. Because they don't want to missing out great chances with scam projects and feel like $10, $20 or more cost for a transaction is not a big issue if they will get big profit from scam project later.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bull run best time to promote Bitcoin related affiliate programs? on: November 12, 2023, 10:38:52 AM
I feel that when Bitcoin is reaching peak prices, all news sites cover the news. As a result, lot of new users come to Bitcoin. As a result, this can be a good time to invest in promotion of crypto affiliate programs. The chances for conversions will be higher as Bitcoin popularity will already be in mind of people.
Bull run truly attracts new people into this market and they will have more interest to join this market than in a bear market with many bad, positive news, fud and price usually decreases with time.

You can earn good if you are a big influencer and people follow your social media, Youtube channel, website, blog will have reasons to open their new accounts through your affiliate link. If you are not an influencer, you will not have people opens their accounts with your referral link. Therefore, your earning from Referral / Affiliate program will depends on who you are, and how big your community is.
418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Tutorial]How to monitor multiple addresses without Insert seed and key on: November 12, 2023, 03:12:59 AM
because many beginners out there think that bitcoin is the same as a bank account, so if you know the balance, you have a key.
Those greed people can be scammed by offers with wallets that have big balance in BTC.

They will spend money to buy those wallets but maybe it is only Watch-only wallet that is useless and can not be used to move any of big BTC in balance as shown by scammer in good offers.

Stop buying Fake Bitcoin wallets

What a strange email and its content you received. It's likely your email is leaked then you received those spam emails.

Did you check your email address with https://haveibeenpwned.com/?
If you did not, it's time to do it.

Would you mind sharing the email address of the sender, please?

Knowing about that email, people can be more careful and they can proactively block that address in their email inbox.

Yes, yes, swap BTC to USDT to catch the collapse of the next stablecoin (quickly forgot what happened to stablecoins almost recently), when all your assets are transfused into this trash.
Generalizing it to something like
"Do not swap your bitcoin to any altcoin".

Altcoins include stable coins (USDT, USDC, ...) or Tokens which are created to peg their values with Bitcoin value. Those tokens are like stable coins but with different terms and names.

They are called as Wrapped Bitcoin tokens but always remember they are not bitcoin and you don't own bitcoin if you have those Wrapped Bitcoin tokens.

Wrapped tokens.
