Isn't there one single chinese speaking individual in the whole western world who's able to translate these rumours etc. into understandable English Sure feels that way. The problem isn't with the translation, it's with the source. Some are referencing a post that went up, then was promptly deleted, while Coindesk is referencing their "sources"... add to that translation nuances and it's anybody's guess. Oh well... stay calm and keep hashing. Yes I realise that, however it would have been interesting to know what btc-38 said above anyhow I'll hold out for further news disseminators say enthusiastically arrange things, I'm pretty sure did not this news. Rumor has no visible acting in order to do their utmost, I suspect Not famous market-bit era - as its says not only did the whole cast flesh, but also took the opportunity to copy the one end, at the end of 19.5 and bought a copy of the 3000 yuan, When 20 yuan to sell, but also earned a snack money. My takeaway from this is be careful to avoid cross-check again and causing huge losses to be deceived by similar rumors.

Come on make up your mind http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-china-statement-interpretation/RS, a Shanghai-based Chinese lawyer and bitcoin enthusiast “Trading bitcoins for goods or services is treated as barter, which is free of regulatory restrictions so far. Bitcoin is regarded as a tradable commodity in China, so it is legally permissible to trade bitcoins for goods, services or even currency.”

I believe Bitcoin will continue to lead the charge rather than being usurped by another coin, it's the trailblazer with the infastructure built around it, litecoin is 2nd, it's going to be interesting which coin is going to hold 3rd spot through 2014, my view is quark will move into that position through February-march next year. I recall Bitcoin at £2.00 when it reached £20.00 I remember thinking it just can't go any higher......can it ? now anythings possible only 6-12 months ago it was considered experimental now half of the world is poised to invest. Bitcoin is gong to shock and oar throughout 2014 you'll be able to hear the deafening sound of jaws dropping around the globe $10,000 - $20,000 $50,000 the stage is set for explosive growth. Disclaimer : this is my view do your own research draw your own conclusions, any CryptoCurrency carries with it risk - only invest what you can afford to lose that way your able to ride the volatility up and down without any sleepless nights.

Just did some reading on the site
I don't get this statement, how would cash be accepted?
"IMPORTANT NOTICE: Cash payments will not be accepted and will not be credited to your account. They will be held, pending an investigation by the appropriate authorities. We must operate this rigorous Anti-money Laundering (AML) policy to prevent criminal activity on the site."
Quite a scary statement for a first time visitor, needs a better explination
That would be crediting their account via depositing cash directly at a kiosk in the bank, which could result in a large aml/KYC migraine. Online bank to bank transfers from a persons account is required here I should say. Sounds like a good notice rather than scary at least it shows their aware of their Know Your Client requirements. Disclaimer : I've just signed up with them I haven't used their service so due diligence is required on your own part.

ebay / paypal ........ I just don't see it in a million years 1) Its direct competition to bitcoin 2) ebay / paypal love reversing transactions. How can they reconcile that with bitcoin? It will be reconciled because sellers can offer a cheaper price without the threat of reversals, (and likley less fees) and thus attract more buyers and traders, and so that market of sellers will displace trade from ebay, causing eBay to die or adapt Except that there has to be a demand for it. Ebay is huge, bitcoin is a drop in the bucket comparatively. So that's what you can do as a customer: ask ebay sellers if they'd be willing to accept bitcoin as a payment. It's becoming more and more well known, but I think a lot of people either a) still aren't aware of bitcoins or b) think it's a fad. Personally, my bet on what would cause a huge catalyst for bitcoin growth would be business payment processors actually paying employees in bitcoins instead of dollars (or other local currencies in a non-US company). I don't forsee this happening for a long time, personally, but I know I'd happily accept (some) payment in bitcoins if I were offered the option as an employee of a company. As far as I know, the only company that has actually done this was The Internet Archive / archive.org. I think your right those things would be great of BTC uptake ebay's not that "huge", they do lots of relatively low value transactions for collectibles, shoes, IT gear and second hand goods, car fridges etc PayPal is tied up with ebay, plus ebays its market cap, is (only) 66.5 B, BTC is already $10 B Its telling that ebay found the payment mechanism paypal as something they had to aquire, and they paid $1.5B for it some years ago, and that was largely just for their operations or about 50% of the payment system. BTC is light years ahead of Paypal in tech etc, and offer a payment system for the world or a good % of it..... ebay is very regional in some places its hardly used others its dominant. big value items, currency exchange, houses, cars, classes of investment, ebay does not do http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2013/12/ebay-bitcoin-hack/

Make it a habit whenever you purchase anything from anywhere simply ask " can I pay in Bitcoin ".

I'm cross-posting this from the main Quark thread, because I want Mjbmonetarymetals and cryptoBoomer to see it. http://www.quarkqrk.infoJust something I put together tonight. I used some of the logos submitted for the logo design contest (specifically I used ones by users Mjbmonetarymetals and cryptoBoomer and I used Quark forum's quarkbro's infographic). If anyone objects to my using their artwork, please let me know and I will remove it immediately. Just going for the overall feel at this stage. Everything is changeable. Of course, I'll replace the logos with whoever ends up winning the contest. I just wanted to get the site up. Of course, this is NOT the official new site. Just something I did on my own that I'd like to use to support the community. I think the site mock-up looks great!!, I'm not a fan at all of the background or the Shadow effects etc. on or around the logo as I think they look too dated, I've pm'ed you the background and logo in case you agree
