401  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs $130 (10 left), 8 Boards (0 left) on: November 19, 2013, 06:53:32 PM
I cant answer on the software but I can on the shipping. Looks like the boards should be done here within 48 hours, and then will be dispatched after a small amount of testing to AUS, and me in the US. At least from me, all boards will then be tested again (Not sure how long... suggestions?) and then immediatly shipped out same day via UPS Next Day/2nd Day air [depending on location]. As soon as we know the boards are done, we can give  concrete delivery.

I'd sample test say 1/10th of the boards for a few hours on testnet.  That'd be my recommendation

Yeah I can do that. *might* be able to live stream, or atleast upload a ton of pictures.
I will be shipping from MO. Middle of the country, and if your anywhere close to me Im ok with local pickup Smiley.

And I just want to say guys - Barn has been working very hard behind the screens to bring this all together... this stuff is immensely complex.

Good to go, thanks!  (East Coast here)  Looking forward to delivery!

Good news this time! Today i shipped out the first thumbs. Grin The rest will be shipped tomorrow. I'll send out tracking numbers as soon as i have them.

It feels damn good to get these things out there! They work. They work well. Some are hashing comfortably above 3 GH/s !

Thank you all for your patience (those that HAVE been patient Wink ) Feels pretty great to get to this milestone.

On other good news, our new parts are with the factory and the other boards should be done tomorrow.  Smiley I might even get some sleep one day soon.  Shocked

And now.... Thumb porn!

Ready for launch! Enjoy.  Grin Grin

Congrats Barn', it seems this is home strech before mining with this!

So you confirm all the fab (8-chips boards) would be done this week? Can you state whether you ship everything from China directly to us or via AUS (except for US)? If direct from China, are theses boards tested before shipping?

Then about software, can you give details how to handle (make run) Drillbit? According to me there's not yet support from CGMiner nor BFGMiner. For now, we only know that CGminer modified was used during development.
Have you sent also some tips (software, config, tools,..) with the first Drillbit thumb?

also may be interested in a USD option (if the price is competitive, not holding breath though)
409  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICMINER CUBES - 2btc ea - 31-38ghs on: November 15, 2013, 05:17:07 PM
WTCR is a rip off. There is no way to get a good price on ASICMINER gear if you live in Canada since the GB's wont ship here.
Try cloud mining instead actually having the hardware since you can sell your gh at any time or buy more and it starts mining for you instantly. It pays into your account every block and you get paid in BTC, NMC, IXC and DVC. To start mining just click in my signature below Smiley

Why don't they just go to https://cex.io/ instead??  Quit spamming your fucking referral links everywhere asshat (hopefully the mods will take action on your dumbass)

the last couple threads i have been in have you spamming this nonsense... stfu already
410  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Grrrrr Help plz on: November 15, 2013, 05:12:54 PM
I have been trying for days to set up any kind of bitcoin miner on my mac. I tried rpc miner, followed all the instructions, entered bitcoin.mining.cz for url. 8332 for port account.worker for user and my workers password and only get an error mssg.

I've tried setting up other clients, but I'm not good at dealing with terminal stuff and cant get anything to work. This is more for my education and future mining. Im not concerned with speed or hash rate, I just want to get a client running. Can someone give me a macmining for dummies walk through on how to get a client running. I'm looking for a cpu miner for now. I know it's slow and not very profitable, but that's what I want to do.

On top of everything else, I downloaded Bt-q wallet. It took over a day to catch up, then I got a database error, it took another day to fix it and then got another database error. And on top of everything else I had bitcoins on input.io and lost some of that. TF sent me 1.3 of the 2 btc balance I had. Anyway my bitcoin experience has not been a happy one and I'd appreciate any help. Thanks
If you want mine easily, just cloud mine at CEX. They have all the hardware, you can buy/sell more gh of speed whenever you want. They pay out to your account also, every block (you get btc, nmc, ixc and dvc).
To start just click on my signature below Smiley

Wow - can you spam your "signature line" referral link anymore???

412  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: November 14, 2013, 10:03:36 PM

That was the timeline I remember seeing. They explained the situation very well, and since the chips didn't come till early November, this is the expected timeline. I think comparing this to BFL or Avalon at this point is pretty unfair! We all took a risk by preordering, and of course we all wish they had shipped earlier! At least we're not dealing with multimonth delays like cointerra and hashfast, for much more expensive systems. Hopefully we will mine some good coin, and I still feel these devices will be very profitable for fiat, and more profitable in BTC than buying BTC now. Hell, even my early asicminer blade is profitable in fiat now! I'm in mining for a hobby that also turns a profit, not as a get rich quick plan, so perhaps my views are different on the subject.

I ordered a NF1 Bitfury based USB stick project from the group buys section, on Oct 19th, and it was shipped out 3 weeks later. That group buy didn't start until mid September, some 5-6weeks after this one started, they also ordered their reel from Megabuypower.

nuff said, I'm a little whiny bitch... gosh...

concur

Hoping they are good to go tomorrow and arrive monday?

I hope they turn up before Xmas, the group buy started Aug 2nd. this is starting to become a BFL saga.

orly?  where are the lies, deceit, and company asshole bashing users/customers?

far from a "BFL saga" at this point

What kind of GH are you getting from the Canon inkjet?

Maaaaaan, the next difficulty increase will be a killer.  RIP Block Erupters.

No doubt, there are always SHA alts thankfully.  I sense a lot of alt mine-n-dump coming...

That's exactly what I was going to say. Time to look into a PPC or other alt-SHA-coin to direct my eruptors to, I think.
Hopefully your devices will work for you. I tried to experiment with litecoin and found it lists eroupters specifically as non supportive of it. It kept tellking me the difficulty was too high and wouldn't let me mine anything with them.

Litecoin is not an SHA256 coin (scrypt), thus will not work with ASIC devices that mine Bitcoin...

Bump for product/shipping update

??  go check the last page...

Hello

I am very pleased to inform you all that at this very moment the boards are all getting made. This is the last charge. I don't want to make any promises that i might then accidentally not be able to keep, but i'm pretty confident we'll be shipping next week.

We are going with the 12V version, so feel free to go out and get power supplies. Also, i don't know if I've mentioned this before but each miniplane and each double scroll has a connector for a fan, so with a full 8 board setup you will have connections for 3 fans. I think i'm gonna go with these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103090 but haven't decided yet.

IAS, i know what you mean about the size of the boards, much smaller than you expect huh? The fully stacked miniplane will be a neat little cube.

Onto boring admin stuff, i still haven't received shipping payments from quite a few people. Can everyone please check their names and sort it out. If i have accidentally missed you, apologies in advance, send me a message.
