The power connectors were a big plus to see... also the fact that the "Antminer" stickers were removed from side of shipping box was nice to see..

BTW, delivery was fast and right on time.  My Amazon 2-day delivery packages both did not show up even though they were due today.  Better mail from China with UPS than with USPS.....figures.

This.

Ant showed up right on schedule which is shockingly fast... just like the 2nd auction buy

I should have had my newegg PSUs dropped off today, no dice.. bumped until tomorrow.. (thankfully I have a CX500 that seems to be doing the job)

And my drillbit return bumped from 2day air to now 3day air essentially..

I did get my amazon prime shipped horse head mask.. thumbsup.jpg
323  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: About those USB Block Eruptors on: December 18, 2013, 03:05:44 PM
Hey guys,
I just wanted to share my opinions on those USB block erupters you can buy on amazon for 50$. Most of them generate around 333mh/s. Here's where my opinion starts. These are completely stupid and absurd. Do the math, these will never ever pay themselves back. Why the hell would you buy some random USB thing that gets hot for over 50$, and then have it never ever pay for itself. Do the math. Right now they make about 16 cents per day. In theory, if the difficulty and price stayed the exact same, it would take 4 years to make that money back. Of course there is the difficulty changes, so in a year that will probably mine absolutely nothing, maybe less than a cent a day. This would never ever pay for itself, so my advice to the people that are thinking of buying this: STAY AWAY  Angry

Dam never seen a post like this before you must be a genius.

lol, this +1

I put in an order several months ago for one of their fast hash platinum, ended up wiring little over $9,000. Pretty much after that they've gone silent. I tried to get several updates from them to see the status of the shipping, get assurances of delivery and nothing. Then out of luck i was able to get someone from sales on the phone sometime around thanksgiving weekend. They told me over the phone that they were going to have issues delivering on time as they were still in the manufacturing process.

At this point my first thought was well 1.5Terahash for nine grand isn’t going to make its ROI efficiently based on the current difficulty rate so I asked for a refund. They said yes to the refund but it's been well about 3 weeks since that, no one is answering my emails or tickets, no one answers the phone either (call screening maybe), but since then its been impossible. I am worried this might be a scam since they haven’t shipped, no one has seen their hardware (except from some press releases). And they don’t seem to be honouring their praised and very advertized refund policy either.

I find it hard to believe it takes 3 weeks to get a wire transfer setup to refund the money that was easily sent to them via the same method in around 2 days time when I purchased the order. I am happy to provide proof and transcripts.

I've received my machine, and pumping out about 2.5 bitcoins a day.  Someone tried talking me into taking a 0.1BTC bounty for proof of photos but I really don't care that much to prove it to anyone. Raise the bounty to 1BTC and I'll get off my couch.  You will probably get that refund once your machine has been put to work for awhile by vmc (your refund has to come from somewhere right?).  Be patient..

from different supply chain

Does putting that paper on top of the heatsinks really help airflow that much?  What are the temp differences with and without that you are seeing?

I also found out there are SATA to PCI-E cables, that may be usefull for my scrypt mining rigs.

Careful with those.. they are not reliable
329  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: December 13, 2013, 02:28:09 PM
Hmm - I'll have to keep an eye out for the thermal paste "oozing"... don't recall seeing it yet..

How long has yours been running when that started to happen?
330  Economy / Auctions / Re: Auctioning 2 brand new unused Bitmain Antminer 180ghs/s on: December 12, 2013, 05:14:45 PM
Yea I just saw that, shipping was quick indeed. Auction is indeed useless at this point and bitmain seems to have a steady supply so iam going to start mining and possible sell them elsewhere.

Best of luck!

* 1 AntMiner purchase will enter you 1 ticket in to the total of 300 drawing pool.  After the final miner ships, the winner will be announced by Bitmain.

Very Cool  Cool
332  Economy / Auctions / Re: Auctioning 2 brand new unused Bitmain Antminer 180ghs/s on: December 12, 2013, 04:34:00 PM
I wont sell them for under 4.25 because I just bought them for that amount 3 days ago. Right now im taking a loss at 4.25 compared to btc/usd when I bought them plus shipping costs escrow and PSUs I bought that are included. It doeasnt make sense to sell them for anything below that.

You would probably have better luck on fleabay or craigslist...  the group buy for 4.25BTC was just increased to another 150 available units... can't even say shipping would be slower either, they are hellafast in that dept.
333  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN -2 DAYS] #3rd KnC Neptune #1batch #1dlv > +9TH/s = 0.05 B/Sh SebJu escrow! on: December 11, 2013, 07:08:44 PM
Thank you, refund received.

On a more personal note, let me say this. Anykeywhy, people who manage a $45.000+ operation do not behave like you do. I am sorry to say you have so far demonstrated very low capability for calm, serious and coherent communication. You can't go berserk and act like a hysterical teenager over some simple and polite questions from your shareholders. That kind of behavior is what led me to step back from this GB.

I am also a bit disappointed with the escrow agent in this matter. Escrows should act in the best interest of BOTH the group organizer AND the shareholders and he should've dispensed the requested refunds immediately, without waiting for organizer's instructions. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that's what I would've done.

Other than that, I wish you all good luck and happy mining!

Same, concur.

338  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: For those that received the mini rig 500Gh/s from butterfly labs on: December 11, 2013, 02:20:31 AM
It's just a bunch of singles put together. In fact, there is a glued-together USB hub on the inside. My friend pre-ordered when it was 1.5TH, so he actually has 3 of them. He ripped the top off so that there was better airflow.  Here's a good pic of what I'm talking about: http://buttcoin.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/bfl-inside3.jpg

Besides horrible airflow, it works just fine.  (He has it in a temperature-controller datacenter, so if it runs bad in there, it's just poorly designed.)

This is seriously some of the funniest sh*t I've seen this year. :-)

IRT that pic - what in the actual fuck
339  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer support thread on: December 11, 2013, 02:17:44 AM
After logging in via SSH the following steps:
1. type:  "cd /etc/config"(without the quotes) and hit enter.
2. type: "vim asic-freq"(without the quotes) and hit enter.
3. hit I button to enable "edit mode" and adjust the settings, lines beginning with # are ignored.
4. after you're done hit the ESC button to exit "edit mode".
5. type ":wq" (without the quotes) to execute write and quit.
6. you'll be back in the command line, type reboot to restart your device.

You can check your frequency in the web interface miner status page.
If everything went ok, you're mining with higher speed Smiley

Then you can donate to me for providing you with extra steps to unleash ultimate hashing power Tongue 15j3fDzunHtoTsDH7MAKQQiG95q5yWYTfk

Keep looking at your HW errors to make sure your device isn't frying up.
I've added some tiny heatsinks, and running 400Mhz but still 3.3% HW error.
But my Antminer is using the Corsair AX860 80+ Platinum PSU and @400Mhz it's sucking around 395W out of the wall-socket Smiley

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for this info - helped my non-linux knowing ass fix that cgminer hangup last night after I was cussing the FAQ out for lack of non-linux oriented instructions!
