401  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 07, 2017, 12:01:24 PM
please help ASAP
I replaced the controler on S9 which I bought with bitmain. The hashing boards are working I checked them on another S9. When I powered it up it shows the hashing boards in status, first minute or so there are all 0s but also zero hashing speed, after couple minutes all of them are showing xxx. I tried 600 and 500 freq but still the same. What am I missing ?

update:
is there a chance that the miner isn't working with a faulty fan? even if I disconnect it?

Yes. Replace the faulty fan.
shipping from bitmain costs too much, any alternatives from ebay/amazon?
This is a good one, I used to have AvalonMiner 6.0 equipped with this.
Sanyo Denki SAN Ace 120 3.0 Amp 12 Volt 120mm PWM Fan 224 CFM

This will git s9 I guess but isn't the cable too short for rare fan ?

I'm trying to make a batch file so I can mine ETH + DCR
I want to use ethermine.org For Eth and Suprnova for DCR

I know I'm doing something wrong here because the ETH : Job timeout, disconnect, retry in 20 sec....   keeps popping up

Here's my current batch file that isn't working.

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal 0xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxc.Worker05 -epsw x -etha 0  -esm 3 -dpool dcr.suprnova.cc:2252 -dwal xxxxxxxxx.worker05 -dpsw x -allpools 1 -allcoins -1 -r 1 -ttli 69 -tstop 72
is this a proper way to add worker name to eth?
I'm using -eworker command separately

try lower intensity -ethi with this command, make it -ethi 6 and then start lowering until you find the perfect spot.
On some of my rigs this settings helped, on some other ones I reverted to stock bios

Tried every permutation from -ethi 0 to -ethi 8 I still get that message :GPU #0 got incorrect share. If you see this warning often, make sure you did not overclock it too much!

Mining using Nicehash miner gui, eth using claymore miner 8.0

card is at stock setting still the same. I am so lost.
while all my cards are modded returning to factory rom solves 99.9% of problems so I'm out of options what to advise  Sad

only one rig out of 81 isn't showing the temps, I'm confused. All the rigs are exactly same built wit same cards but only one refuses to show temps, any ideas why ?
Driver not recognize card/s correctly?
There was 2 gigabyte RX480 and 1 Sapphire RX480, I replaced one gigabyte from another rig to be all identical cards and reinstalled drivers, I even tried older versions of miners but without any lack.
Now I came up with one idea which will help me identify the problem more detailed, I will try the Zec miner, if it still won't show the temps it means it's not about the miner but the system itself, if Zec miner will show temps then I have no idea what to do..

I have RX 480 8gb msi
GPU #0 got incorrect share. If you see this warning often, make sure you did not overclock it too much!

I have tried to keep it at stock speed. Even then I get this message. How should I resolve this ?

Any help on my previous post please.

revert back to stock bios

I never modded my bios. Only overclocked and undervolted but after seeing this error I kept stock settings yet same issue. Sad

408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 16GB SSD with Windows 7 and want to upgrade on: March 02, 2017, 10:15:05 PM
For me it is simple, installing win10 pro, entering key and after installation using KMS activator, after that it works without any problems. I don't know how the software policies and regulations work in your county so I can't actually advise you anything. Also the SSD sending idea is just a waste of money, if you decide to take a risk you can do it yourself.

Problem for most is;  using a KMS activator is illegal;  because they never purchased the license for the group they are activating to.... and 90% of those people don't even have a key for 10 to use to begin with.

In layman's terms: for the greatest portion of the population;  using a KMS activator would be illegal. ( Foremost being not owning rights to the keys they are using, and secondly not following the EUA for said license;  Take the Pandaminer as a prime example)

Agreed the SSD sending is a waste of $$$ also because it won't be activated on the new machine. (even though it was activated on the machine that installed it).
Why not linux?
We are using these "benefits" until we can, until some regulations will affect it. After that I'm pretty sure we will be the nation with 98% of linux users
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: March 02, 2017, 09:33:21 PM

I'm assuming it's Antminers for the moment, because you ask about hashing board temperaturs. Please correct me if I'm wrong. You can actually configure the Progress field in the Miner tab to display Antminer chip temperature. See the last example on this page: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/customizefield.aspx
And forgot to mention, it did the trick, now I see chip temps in progress bar, thank you.

This is the last place I can ask, after googling for couple hours..
I want to give web monitoring access to some users, for this I will have to forward port to my micrserver which is sitting in the same LAN as S9-s.
As I see there are some options you can change via web monitoring.
Is there any way to restrict these and make it read only mode ? Update: I figured it out, now when I access web interface from global it only shows the stats and it's impossible to change anything, I think now it is more secure.
And is it possible to add multiple emails in receiver address ?
Are there any error definitions ? I can't figure out what Accept progress means (

Recently I came up with a strange thing when my rx480 8g cards were mining on different hashrates, I'm using 29Mhs rom since September and till this time everything was fine, but now couple 480s are mining at strange hasrates from 7-12 from 20-24. I tried almost every solution I could find on internet. The last thing was changing the bios back to original and 90% of cards are mining now at 24Mhs without any issues, but when I get back to 29Mhs bios they start jumping around again. I'm out of options what more to try, any suggestions ?
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 16GB SSD with Windows 7 and want to upgrade on: March 02, 2017, 08:33:48 AM
ell I don't know what any of that means, what would it cost me to have you put like 5 copies on SSD's and mail them to me?

They would have broken activation and be unactivated when installed into another machine.

I proved this would happen to myself by switching HDD's between two PC's that were similar and both had activated copies of 10.  Swapping the HDD's, broke 10 on both machines.

Not to derail your question or anything, but where do you get all your copies of windows from?  I want to get my rigs all up to windows 10, but not really interested in paying for copies of each.
It's Georgia, even local microsoft office allows small and even medium businesses to use kms and stuff, if they will force us to buy copies we simply will switch to linux. As far as I know even some ggovernemtal institutions are using havked kasperski and windows.

Well I don't know what any of that means, what would it cost me to have you put like 5 copies on SSD's and mail them to me?
Why do you want to spend money on postage and stuff ? You can activate it yourself with a key and KMS. I can send it to you if you want.
and the option @JaredKaragen advised is legit working option.

Even if you were able to fit windows 10 on a 16GB SSD, you would still need an additionnal storage for the pagefile that need to be at least 16GB for some algos (eth is one of them) or more (sibcoins) depend how big your rigs is (how many gpu's), also from my knowledge you can't install w10 on such a small device. There is the IOT version that is super small, but it's not aimed @ desktop usage, and would probably not be compatible with mining. a 64GB SSD is 40$, don't go and give yourself more headache just replace it  Wink
I actually managed somehow to install on one rig (all rigs are 3GPU per rig) with 16gb SSD, max pagefile I could give was 4000MB and atm it is mining, but I'm pretty sure it will stop soon.. There are some strange win7 versions installed and I forgot the golden rule :/ if it works, leave. So I will start upgrading 32gb+ rigs with win 10, there's no other way I guess..
I was also trying to make smaller version of 10 with NTlite, but with no luck..

Yeah it's really too small Sad even with optimisation & all, that leave you really no breathing room, even less.
It left like 400mb or less, let's see what it will do tonight.

what about free linux distros like ubuntu or mint?
Does anyone have any experience mining with these distros in large farms? I need more stability

At the farm itself I don't have any kind of host, how safe it will be to redirect ports and from home server use external IP address to access my miners? Or will it be better to bring there an old PC and install your software there?
Also the temps in status window aren't the hashing board temps, are there any possibilities to show the hashing board temps?
Although it's possible to setup port forwarding (redirects), it's also a security risk. At least if you enable full API access on the miners, that would allow for changing pool and more. It's more secure to setup some kind of VPN solution. I don't know what your router supports, but an option is always to have a PC on the site running VPN software like Hamachi LogMeIn, and then have Awesome Miner running at your location. As you point out, you can also run Awesome Miner directly on this PC on the site and connect via Remote Desktop, or use the Awesome Miner built-in web interface to monitor from your location.

you are right, they are all S9s, so far my future solution is to bring at the farm my old pc with awesome miner installed on it, disable full api access to miners and use mailing and web interface for monitoring. I have mikrotik there with vpn access but I prefer to have a pc there. That will give me maximum security, I won't even forward RDP just connect to vpn and use RDP that way. One more question, will I be able to set for web monitoring multiple users and passwords if I upgrade my awesomeminer of course?

devs willing to answer our questions ?
soft is good so far but no any kind of support!
I did just notice that you sent me a private message two days ago that I didn't respond to. I will get back to you with an answer on this.
I try to answer questions as soon as possible, but sometimes there can be many questions from users, especially now when the Bitcoin price is high and more people are getting interested in mining.
Thanks for reply, can't wait to have answers on those questions as well, I already bought premium edition and want to upgrade in nearest future.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 16GB SSD with Windows 7 and want to upgrade on: March 01, 2017, 05:40:41 PM
Greetings, It's been 10+ hrs I'm sitting in the farm and searching for options to somehow fit windows 10 on 16GB SSD.
I know that 16gb isn't enough and why I even bought it ? It wasn't me..
Here is the list of ssd-s I have currently on my farm:
22x16gb
25x32gb
25x120gb
and couple 64s and 40s
I was on vacation and planning to update from windows 7 to 10 and now my plan isn't working as I wanted it to.
The thing is that I can actually upgrade 32 and + SSDs to 10 but I can't do it with 16gb.
I was searching to all over the net for smaller versions of 10, I even downloaded and installed some, but it isn't working as I want it to.
Any ideas or suggestions about what system to use, atm there are 10s and 7s as well...
How can I manage to install and run correctly without any issues windows 10 on 16gb SSD?
I know that it will be better to go and buy some new ssd-s but..

420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone want to do a Baikal Groupbuy? on: February 28, 2017, 06:25:28 PM
I bought a few Giants directly from Baikal. Excellent customer service, fast shipping. The miners are running great!

I had bought a Baikal from Asicminermarket earlier and that one stopped working, none of the LED's light up. It looks a little different than the ones I got directly from Baikal. Right now I am not sure where to get support on that one.

asicminermarket is a scam site, stay the fuck away from that
I can confirm this considering my rl friends experience. They are scam
