Did not get a coupon.  As the Donald would say sad. So sad.

@ bitmain

so purchasing 7 s-9's

and buying  2 r-4's

of which

1 dead board for the r-4's

6 dead boards for the s-9's

1 or 2 dead controller for the s-9's

means no coupons

total of  25.038 btc

plus  about 600 in repairs sent to bitmainwarranty

and not a single coupon.

Damn....out of 4 AMD 380's,none are faulty......

Out of 1 AMD 390,not faulty......

out of 95 video card purchased for the last 11 months 100% good.

out of 30 mobos 27 good  well 28 2 doa  1 shorted after 6 months .

out 30 cpus 1 bad  first intel to ever die on me I have installed 100's

every hdd and or ssd good.   yeah the gpu gear is way better then the s9 or r4 gear.

every ram stick works

I think 1 melted 2 melted risers

every psu used since april 2016 is still good.

With GPUs the only part that usually fails is the fans. Those are the highest point of failure.
And melting wires from risers and modular PSU pins.

Also box fans fail also for your rigs. But its usually $20 and they last 2 years or so. Generally they werent designed for 24 hours a day of use.
Box fans are pretty cheap though and they do the job for a long time if you get a good one. For the cost a year or two is great, fans on GPUs and burnt cables and connectors are a pain in the ass compared to box fans. Some GPU fans are easy to replace but others are more difficult to replace.

Guys, Please check if this is normal for an S9 13.5th. Is the temp normal? is the Frequency normal? Is the fan speed normal? (I think its running at full speed). Its running in an ambient temp of 29degrees Celsius (at night). What if it run in the afternoon at 37Degrees Celcius? Do I need to worry?

@bitmain please check.

hello everyone, i have the next question.

is profitable buy an s9 antminer nowadays ?

thanks

The short answer is NO, it is unlikely that you will be able to recoup more BTC from mining than you spend buying the miner (especially after paying operating costs), but lot's of factors and assumptions come into play, without which it is difficult to give a comprehensive answer. The most important factors are: 1) How much do you expect difficulty to increase over the next months and 2) what is your cost of electricity?

Other factors which may affect your decision: Expected price increases in BTC rate, need for "virgin" coins, AML/KYC considerations, learning, local financial limitations, etc.

But no, it is probably NOT profitable. At this point you may be better off just buying the coins. Ultimately you need to make up your own mind.

Underclocking and/or Undervolting may help. Has anybody worked out how to achieve this with the "autotune" firmware? It seems that every chip gets its own custom frequency setting now. If the lowest frequency from the search file is used per board that would be a good start?

What is the ave daily payout on Hashnest S9.

About 0.005BTC / day after fees, a bit less in the past days due to bad pool luck.

Thank You very much for the information.  That is about 40% less than mining on my own with a value of about $10.00 per miner.

...i don't know, but calc show $9.27/day for a 13.5Th/s miner, BEFORE COSTS.
Maybe yours are 14Th?
0.005 (currently about $6.29) is AFTER cost on hashnest, unless i misunderstood.
Not super good, but not bad either (probably 7-8c/kw equivalent in power costs).

Oops!  Biodom, you are correct.  I see that the $6.36 is pretty good as a net.  Thanks for correcting me on that one.

Correct, Hashnest charges a 7c/kwh and the 0.005BTC is after the costs.
It is decent and you won't have any issues with the S9 miners yourself this way Smiley You just get paid out according to the hashrate you purchased.

please help ASAP
I replaced the controler on S9 which I bought with bitmain. The hashing boards are working I checked them on another S9. When I powered it up it shows the hashing boards in status, first minute or so there are all 0s but also zero hashing speed, after couple minutes all of them are showing xxx. I tried 600 and 500 freq but still the same. What am I missing ?

update:
is there a chance that the miner isn't working with a faulty fan? even if I disconnect it?

This is a good one, I used to have AvalonMiner 6.0 equipped with this.
Sanyo Denki SAN Ace 120 3.0 Amp 12 Volt 120mm PWM Fan 224 CFM
https://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-Denki-SAN-Ace-120mm/dp/B00QWB1X3O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488887739&sr=8-1&keywords=san+ace+120

edit:
here are technical specs for that fan https://products.sanyodenki.com/en/contents/hp0071/list.php?CNo=71&ProCon=1266
Max. speed is 6400 rpm and max. air flow 224 CFM which is plenty enough for both front or rear fan.

There are different size of extension cables available
for example https://www.amazon.com/extension-cable-Black-Sleeving-FC44PWM-12BKS/dp/B0055OLY88

take measurements and see what fits the best
