401  Other / Meta / Re: Ripple trying to take over the Bitcoin Discussion thread on: May 20, 2013, 11:17:31 PM
I would like to see Ripple in a section that covers general gateways and payment services such as Paypal, Google Checkout, Dwolla and so on. You could argue that many altcoins are similarly, if not more tied to Bitcoin then Ripple.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How about some "Star" endorsements? on: May 20, 2013, 09:24:38 PM
I really wish someone would recognize it too...

My question is:
Where are all the New Rich?
Every technological revolution creates "New Rich" (farming, math, building, mining/drilling, transporting, industrialization...). Why is there not a SINGLE Bitcoin millionaire in the news... Or on these forums even...
There is a guy who has been on US news telling the world he is a Bitcoin millionaire, I doubt the news want to promote Bitcoin in a positive light though and the guy in questions tends to come across as a bit loony lol.
403  Economy / Goods / Re: Possible Airplane for Sale ~1500 BTC = Very Nice Single Engine 4 Seat Bo on: May 20, 2013, 09:08:40 PM
As a pilot, I'm absolutely confused why you refuse to give a proper model or photos. It just doesn't make any sense. No pilot is going to even ask for information for a purchase without knowing he can fly it or not, what problems there are with that particular model, if it's comfortable or not, if it's flight worthy, etc.. Either you want to sell the plane or you don't. Anything else is a scam of some sort (stolen plane, improper papers, not flight-worthy, etc).

http://www.aerotrader.com/sell/ <-- these people really must be doing something wrong making their sales public!

Am I the only one who finds the idea of stealing a plane amusing?  Cheesy
404  Economy / Goods / LevitatedINK Designer Apparel [Bitcoin Accepted] on: May 20, 2013, 08:57:05 PM
A couple of days ago I did a photo shoot for my new apparel range called "Rebellion" which is a sub brand of the LevitatedINK range. I have purchased all the necessary equipment to start printing my designs onto T-shirts, very excited about this brand! I just wanted to create this thread to gauge what the Bitcoin community thinks of my Rebellion range of T-Shirts, poll results, comments and general feedback provided will help me out greatly in regards to enhancing the brand, especially for Bitcoin users. I already have a store front set up with Bitcoin payment options, however before I start producing my first T-Shirts it is probably a good idea to make sure people are interested. Don't hold back if you feel something needs changing, I am always open to trying new design ideas if you guys as not receptive to this first range of initial ideas.

If you like any of the samples below, please also let me know as I cannot produce all the shirts at once. If I can get an idea of the most popular designs/products I can produce those first or I can rethink the designs if people are a bit "meh" about them lol.

(I hope the mods can leave this thread in the "goods" section as I plan on posting new products available for sale in this thread, plus the marketplace section is the most relevant area to get relevant poll feedback.)

I have already made arrangements for producing additional merchandise/products once/if this product gains interest, this includes custom watches, trainers, jewelry, beer(yup!, and of course art prints.

Thanks for viewing, I appreciate your thoughts and don't forget to drop some suggestions on Bitcoin pricing. As a new Bitcoin merchant I will need some support. I almost forgot to mention, the LevitatedINK site is also live, I need to add some of the new and latest items then I will enable user checkout. Bitpay and Walletbit are two options I have integrated so far.  Cheesy

405  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Theymos: What the fuck is up with BFL and TradeFortress? on: May 20, 2013, 07:44:53 PM
Most scams derive from the stupidity of the victim, does that make it legitimate practice to "prank" or "teach" the (naive or inexperienced) stupid person a lesson?
I can't tell if you read what I said or not, but you realize that was also my point? What I did was stupid and I'm not interested in every doing something like that again. I learned a lesson. The point of this thread is, "is TradeFortress going to learn his?" and "Is Theymos going to pick and choose when to have standards for bans and scammer tags?"

On a slightly unrelated note, I am glad I did not accept those ASIC shares now as it is not good business to involve yourself with people whol like to fuck about with your money.
Not sure what to say to this as I think it was said in misunderstanding of what is going on..

Quote
Bottom line for community (a lesson I learned the hard way): Don't fuck with other people's money to "teach them lessons", despite your passionate crusade against stupidity.

I misinterpreted, the line above seem to suggest that you thought that people should be able to crusade against stupid people, but that the general communuity look down upon it so its probably best not to. Great to see you learned some lessons from those early experineces, I have been scammed before so I perhaps jumped the gun a little.  Cheesy
406  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Theymos: What the fuck is up with BFL and TradeFortress? on: May 20, 2013, 07:22:31 PM
This entire debate is the same as my Pirate bet where I didn't ask for escrow (because I was trying to prove a point about making bets without escrow and trusting strangers on the internet). I never accepted a penny from anyone and I still got instant scammer tagged and was held to actually paying people the balances of my prank.

The general consensus was that I "scammed expected value" or some whatnot. Despite feeling awful for others having made ignorant financial decisions based on that bet and having learned my lessons, you'd think this community would have learned it's lesson too. Instead, here we are again, except this time it seems Theymos is waiting on something (I'm honestly not sure what that is). I don't know what he's waiting on for BFL either.

Bottom line for community (a lesson I learned the hard way): Don't fuck with other people's money to "teach them lessons", despite your passionate crusade against stupidity.

Bottom line for mods: Stop having double standards for everything that happens on the forums. It's either okay to scam expected value (cheating), or it's not. Pick one and stick with it. </end thread>

On a slightly unrelated note, I am glad I did not accept those ASIC shares now as it is not good business to involve yourself with people whol like to fuck about with your money. Ironically the same reason I want out of the FIAT system.  Grin

Just to confirm hiddenoreo sent me £80 via bank transfer in exchange for 1BTC. We did not use Escrow either, from my experience he is a trusted buyer. Thanks.

411  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Theymos: What the fuck is up with BFL and TradeFortress? on: May 20, 2013, 11:57:48 AM
It does seem to me that Tradefortress is scamming people just to prove a point about the problems with Ripple system. The fact that he is engaging newbs into a system that he considers a scam tells me that at the very least what he is doing is unethical. If I thought someone was a scammer I would not suggest them as a middleman for my transactions.

if the deal can be done today, i.e. now, I will pay £80.
But for £80, I expect the escrow fee to be covered.
Sure, is is possible to wait 30mins as I am just waiting for auction to finish @ 10pm forum time?

Sure. Will we be using an escrow service?

If not, what are your previous transactions?

I have some transaction history somewhere in my posts but I am a hoarder, I have never sold my BTC. I will look for the posts otherwise we can use Escrow.
i dont know if it will be worth it to use escrow, seeing how I need the btc within tonight.

How is the btc kept, in mtgox?
and Ill just go first, if you dont give me the btc, ill just dispute the transaction.
message me the details.

Sure dw I have all my personal details tied into my account, I will send you the BTC. I do have some BTC in mtgox but I would rather send directly from my wallet.
I Will PM you the details I need.

Also, how long will it take from your wallet to mine? Is it confirmed?

Yes all my BTC is confirmed, you should get confirmations relatively quick. The transaction should go through quick, I am ready when you are.

420  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] 1BTC - UK BANK TRANSFER on: May 19, 2013, 09:07:58 PM
I would like to sell 1BTC. I will require payment via UK bank transfer (not Paypal). Unless you are a known trusted member (or OTC) I will require a middle man like John K or Escrow to complete the transaction without risking another scam lol.
I really want to buy 1btc with UK bank transfer.

How much will it cost?

My minimum would be £70 but I am open to higher offers.. Hiddenreo please make a public offer rather than private, that way others know the best offer available to me. I know that for some it is difficult to get BTC in the UK so this might be a good way of getting BTC without hassle.
My apologies, its just that I quickly want to bu 1btc hopefully before tommorow, or tuesday latest.

I can do this now if its for £70?
If you have previous transactions, I can go first.

Do you have experience with sending bank transfers to the UK?
Well I am in the UK.

Sorry but £70 is to low for a UK sale, the cheapest I can find elsewhere is ~£80 so that is what I am going to offer.
