421  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] (Staff Only) Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: November 21, 2014, 11:35:59 AM
Let's hope he caps the posts a lot...ever since PD stopped the campaign spam has been noticeably lower.

I think the number of posts isn't the problem if you have some quality control. I think when it was limited to seniors the spam dropped as well. That being said I would personally prefer some sort of a fixed rate campaign similar to the one  I'm on now (Gaw Miners).
422  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-11-20] CD: UK Shadow Minister Outlines Bitcoin's Potential for Disruption on: November 20, 2014, 09:20:14 PM
Quote
A Labour government would not rush into developing regulations around bitcoin and digital currencies in general, Onwurah said. Instead, she advocated a wait-and-see approach to digital currency regulation to ensure innovation isn't stifled too early in the growth of the sector.

"It's a new and emerging market, I think you would be highly critical if we were to set out now exactly how the market should be regulated. Clearly, existing regulation applies," she said.

I like her way of thinking, but I don't trust anything politicians say. They have a habit of doing the exact opposite of what they say. I've got a feeling labour will get in so maybe we will see next year.
423  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-11-13] CNN: One year on from peak price, what does the future hold? on: November 18, 2014, 01:45:31 PM
Hard to believe it was a year. Doesn't seem that long ago at all.

It will certainly be exciting to see the next 12 months!  Woohoo!

Winklevoss twins ETF should go live.

I suspect more ATMs will be released.

More merchants will start accepting.

Perhaps we'll get more regulatory guidance?

I think that's mostly what people said about this year  Cheesy.

2015 is going to be the year of Bitcoin. Or maybe 2016. or '17  Grin. I think people should worry less abotu the curent price and more on adoption as that is the thing that will ultimately fuel a price hike.
424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What according to you definition of 'freedom'? on: November 18, 2014, 01:29:03 PM

LOL! Law is circumference  and what happends beyond that is crime and freedom forms core of that circle and you say it has nothing to do. Confused!
If Freedom has nothing to do with law/crime then, freedom has no connection with finance also. Contemplate it! Money curbs freedom more than anything else.

Bitcoin is not FREEDOM Q.E.D

I can smoke marijuana and that would be considered a crime as it is against the law.  A police officer can exert force against someone smoking marijuana because it is a crime. This is not freedom.

That's why the laws need an overhaul. Every rational person knows smoking marijuana shouldn't be a crime and nobody should be arrested for any victimless 'crime'. You can't punish people for something that doesn't hurt anyone else.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What according to you is definition of 'freedom'? on: November 18, 2014, 12:58:13 PM
Bitcoin is freedom from a corrupt and unfair monetary system. Clearly the money should not be issued by those who can just print more of their own volition.
426  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2014-11-13 Bloomberg.com - Bitcoin Is a Payment System, Not an Investment: Woo on: November 14, 2014, 02:24:29 PM
Agreed. The volatility is very good for speculators and investors at the moment, but bad for people who want to use it as a currency. Hopefully the price will level out eventually because I'd love for it to be a viable currency as well.
427  Economy / Speculation / Re: why rise price? on: November 13, 2014, 02:12:59 PM
Price goes up, price comes down; you can't explain that.

I gave up trying to make sense of the price long ago. It just happens.
428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Can We Make Bitcoin Mainstream? on: November 13, 2014, 02:09:36 PM
Bitcoin will hopefully take itself mainstream, but we can help by telling as many people about it as possible. Explain the benefits and potential for investment. If they don't like the political ramifications of it, tell them about how they can make money off it and that should pique their interest.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's brave/stupid enough to invest their life savings into Bitcoin? on: November 13, 2014, 02:08:19 PM
It's always going to be a risk but I'm also starting to think it might be fairly safe to buy in at a low and then just dump when these price rises happen because of the wild fluctuations. Would've made quite a tasty profit recently. Might give it a go next time the price falls to a low  Cheesy.
430  Other / Off-topic / Re: General Football Discussion on: November 10, 2014, 04:45:25 PM
I think it was more a case or Real Madrid playing mediocre. I do think the Chelsea / Liverpool game will be closer than people think. 2-1 to Chelsea I'd say.

Should have put money on it Grin

Rodgers have run out of ideas. He is stuck in a loop making the same mistakes again and again. At this point he is just hoping Sturridge will return and save the season.

I very rarely bet as it's too risky for me, but wish I had a flutter now. Then again, if I had have put it on it probably wouldn't have come in. Just luck / chance at the end of the day.

Can I just check when my deadline for posts is? Is it 30 days after you sign up or on the same date the next month? TY.
432  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CANDYSTRIPES IS A SCAMMER on: November 08, 2014, 11:49:17 AM
Candy, you really handled this very immaturely. It reminds me of you when you spammed the Moneypot chat to get a 300 dollar loan because you got scammed and defaulted by many members here. I don't think I would have been able to trust you with that amount due to lack of maturity as well as professionalism and not knowing who to trust with your money. I could have easily lost that bitcoin had i given you the loan.

He really did that? I think he only started loaning money out to build some rep and feedback but doesn't look like that worked out well. Loaning money is pointless other than for the rep as you're going to get scammed eventually if you don't take full collateral.
433  Other / Off-topic / Re: General Football Discussion on: November 08, 2014, 11:46:23 AM
Liverpool vs Chelsea this weekend! Even though Liverpool are in poor form it's still a exciting fixture & Liverpool performed very well against real madrid in the week only losing 1-0.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Liverpool were the ones to stop chelseas current win streak? Unlikely to happen chelsea have been on fire with & without Diego Costa.

Chelsea will win at least 4-0 they are superior to Liverpool this season.

Want to bet? Liverpool are poor but I have a feeling this match may hold a surprise.

No way are they losing 4-0.

I think it was more a case or Real Madrid playing mediocre. I do think the Chelsea / Liverpool game will be closer than people think. 2-1 to Chelsea I'd say.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad 2 Taken down by Feds on: November 07, 2014, 02:43:48 PM
he was making 400k+ per month. If you were making that much money you are going to want to live in the US to be able to enjoy luxuries that can be purchased in the US (or places that are friendly to the U.S. as places that are not friendly tend to be third world like countries).

I do agree that he made horrible mistakes - it was almost self sabotage

Even that kind of money wouldn't be worth it for me. Money is worthless if you can't spend it as he's likely going to be in jail for the rest of his life. I really can't imagine the stress of the paranoia I'd be under operating such a site, but if I did I wouldn't be dumb enough to log in from my home computer even through tor.

It wouldn't be worth it but obviously these guys don't think they'll get caught, but they're obviously not smarter than an entire team of feds and I can't imagine the resources they have available to them. If I was going to use Silk Road even just as a buyer I wouldn't buy something from there unless I was booting from a tails CD and using a internet connection that wasn't tied to me - ie a public one or maybe even buy a pay as you go dongle that was no way attached to me. Maybe he would've been ok if he'd have done something similar, though I'm sure it's not quite as easy as that.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins are killing Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency as a whole on: November 07, 2014, 02:11:31 PM
Altcoins are good for Bitcoin because they bring competitive pressure, and are excellent working testbeds for design changes. Bitcoin developers can easily adopt core improvements after they've been thoroughly tested on competing blockchains.

True, but people here wont listen to reason. They just want to hysterically scream SHITCOINS ARE BAD and put their fingers in their ears. Saying that, most are shitcoins and not worth the time of day, but they can or could be useful.
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad 2 Taken down by Feds on: November 07, 2014, 02:08:41 PM
Bound to happen when the founder/owner is young, unprofessional, greedy, foolish, and all around uneducated.

The alleged owner was an educated and prolific software engineer and entrepreneur who contributed to multiple repositories and also previously worked as a software engineer at Space Exploration Technologies Corp.

Your comment is both slanderous and ignorant.

How would you know?  You make a gazillion childish and ignorant comments and you come across as extremely uneducated about the world.

The term is idiot-savant where someone knows a lot about one specific thing but is completely clueless about the rest of the world.  There are many of those involved in Bitcoin.  So, yes, someone can do some coding but still be "young, unprofessional, greedy, foolish, and all around uneducated" and I see it all the time in Bitcoin.

Idiot-savant seems to be your favourite word and you love calling everyone it. I'm sure you're a genius in all fields and a flawless expert in bitcoin.

Edit, just saw your signature. Seem that you are an expert. Certified bitcoin professional lol.
437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad 2 Taken down by Feds on: November 07, 2014, 09:19:25 AM
I cannot fathom for the life of me how these people can be so intelligent but also so frikken stupid. They might be good computer programmers but they're obviously not cut out to be great criminals. Decentralization is badly needed and can't come quick enough.
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Black Friday - Let's spend those hoarded bitcoins! on: November 06, 2014, 11:45:45 AM
Is there a website for this year?

Are you doing any deals this year? Then again, It would have to be a massive discount to get me to spend my coins at the moment. I just can't bring myself to spend them at current value. Feel like I'd be losing money if I did. Maybe this time next year will be different.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nobel prize for Satoshi Nakamoto! on: November 06, 2014, 11:29:19 AM
Well he should be given the nobel prize in all the sector, because

5. Peace: He put away the Bankers

They usually only give the Nobel Peace Prize to War Criminals and teenage girls these days.

I do wonder if a person or persons who is anoymous can win it. Maybe Time Magazine will give him Person of the Year onetime.
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Should One Start With Bitcoin Right Now on: November 06, 2014, 11:12:15 AM
Why not ? What else can you do with your money ? Put it in a bank and get 2.25% interest per year which is lower than inflation, and in 5 years the bank goes bust? Government bonds? No, siree.

Not exactly a sound argument. We've been getting negative interest with bitcoin at the moment as it has lost over half it's value within a year, so people who bought in higher than it is now have currently lost money.
