421  Economy / Gambling / Re: Unpopular opinion about crypto gambling on: October 21, 2022, 07:25:04 PM
Why ? Just why ?

Are you against crypto gambling or against KYC? There are platforms where you may gamble without KYC, there is always a choice. At the end it is just a currency and a service, if someone thinks it is worth it, why not to do it?
422  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: New and improved Trezor website on: October 21, 2022, 03:01:59 PM
They are almost the same, but model T has bigger memory, bigger screen and it supports more shitcoins.
Yes there are few advantages, but nothing major that would be wort paying over 200 euros.

And Model T by default creates seeds with 12 words, you need to install extra software to be able to force it to create 24 words. But it has USB C!

And honestly speaking I do not really understand why one support other coins than other. At the end it should depend on software wallet, no? I find a bit misleading fact that hardware wallet supports XXXX coins while Trezor Suite (dedicated software from the producer) just a few.
It is similar to steel plate producers who tell us to use it as a seed storage saying that "it supports BIP39 seeds" - come on, it is just a piece of metal!

So when the odd is 1.12 it means a huge amount of money has been put on that certain event by Parimutuel Betting because in normal betting where the odds are determined by the house it means that this is the most likely result to come true or like the gamblers say is the favorite of the event.

Not "huge amount of money" but much more than for other possibilities. Which makes betting interesting, as on freebitco you may have odds completely different than in case of "centralized" companies. Which means, that you may still bet on two different possibilities and have profit - if the difference is big enough.
Which brings question if betting is completely out of control or if there is any arbitrage...

There was also a third forum user, Kryptoverdienst
Proceeds to change password, logout and never return to this forum ever again

Maybe he just created another account? Probably we will never know.

2 days left for end-of-month crypto price bets, last weeks are so stable that it is almost strange/suspicious Smiley If BTC will not change it's price suddenly, it may give safe 40% gain (current odds are 1.49 for $17,5k - $20k). Second range is 20-22.5k, with odds 3.17 - it would give a nice return, but I do not think we will leave the current range around 19k.

O czyms takim wlasnie myslalem - napisalem pare dni temu, a dzisiaj artykul:
https://www.bankier.pl/wiadomosc/Kopali-kryptowaluty-na-Zeraniu-Teraz-stana-przed-sadem-8426506.html

Pogratulowac udanego wyboru "klientow". 56 baniek, wow.

Now you have money you don't officially have, and can't officially spend. Great for buying drugs, terrible for buying a car.

recently I have found https://bitcars.eu/ Nice initiative, but I did not investigate deeply how they wok - if they sell cars directly or if it is just a catalogue with offers where owner accepts crypto. But what I like is that they offer almost everything - from aston martin sport car to volkswagen camper Wink
427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What is technical difference between database and wallet.dat? on: October 20, 2022, 07:26:06 PM
You can't compare a wallet.dat file with a database, they are two different things, but you can compare the Blockchain with a database.

Technically speaking wallet.dat is a database, as it reuses data storage solution from BerkeleyDB.
Functionally speaking, you are right, blockchain is our “database” (maybe “registry” is a better term) and wallet.dat only keeps users data needed to access his assets.

Database also gives the impression it's something that's stored and accessible online (…)

Oh, who remembers MicroSoft Access?

And wagering that much doesn't require a lot neither, you just gamble with 20-30 dollars and can reach to 500 wagered easily.

FUN token price seems to be (still) the safest method to have +-20% gain. If nothing extraordinary happen, it will finish the month in the expected range.
For BTC odds for 17.5-20 range are quite bigger (now = 1.54), but who knows what will happen, a few weird/unexpected hours and we may be just a few bucks above 20k limit (or below 17.5).
429  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Kotlin libraries on: October 20, 2022, 06:24:13 PM
What are some good resources for android (java/kotlin) developers to start making bitcoin (or crypto) apps?

I do not know how it is with kotlin, but for java you may easily use both bitcoin core libraries if you want to work on btc and org.web3j library if you want to go in that direction. The rest depends on you Wink but basic things like wallet/address creation, private key verifications etc - all is easy to do.
Code:
        <dependency>
            <groupId>org.bitcoinj</groupId>
            <artifactId>bitcoinj-core</artifactId>
            <version>0.16.1</version>
        </dependency>
        <dependency>
            <groupId>org.web3j</groupId>
            <artifactId>core</artifactId>
            <version>5.0.0</version>
        </dependency>
430  Economy / Services / Re: [Search] Dice contest ideas - $100 in Bitcoins! on: October 20, 2022, 02:35:55 PM
What kind of ideas do you expect? UI, graphic theme etc? Or features?
Isn't it like an inventing a wheel? At the end you have high/low with options like odds, bet amount etc. Do you plan to support "algorithms" like doubling bet in case of lost etc. or do you prefer to keep it simple?
It could be implemented as a "weekly contest" you mentioned, or tournament. People would specify if they want to bet low or high, what is their algorithm etc, submit their "scenarios" and then your server would execute 100/500/1000 rolls - the person with the highest ROI would win the contest.
431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you win so big on: October 20, 2022, 02:23:52 PM
First at all - it depends how do you define "big win". It is hard to talk about a fixed amounts, but we may say that big win is not when you double - triple your bankroll. If your bankroll would be multiplied x10, then it is a different story. Honestly speaking I do not believe that it that case people stop gambling, as it is just a "proof" they may win, so the will do it again and again. And it is a clear way to go back to 0... But if you decide to keep 5-10-15% for gambling and withdraw the rest, to use it in some clever way in real life - then yes, it may bring something good.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recover bitcoin from old computer on: October 20, 2022, 12:16:41 PM
My friend and I generated bitcoin on his personal computer in March 2009 and received 50 bitcoins on his address
Bitcoin was less than 2 months old back then. Any chance you bought the wallet instead?
Do you think is possible to fake those data (Edit wallet.dat or something like that)?
I saw the computer and the bitcoins are there. it is NOT photo edit.

You said that you mined coins, you said you have seen wallet with coins, then you ask if it is possible that wallet is forged.
I do not understand - if you KNOW you mined coins, you know that it is possible that wallet has your coins. Do you suspect your friend to show you forged wallet?
What is the story behind? Computer was off-line for a decade and now is suddenly on?
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Split the prize or Reroll? on: October 20, 2022, 12:08:38 PM
Let's say you join a give away with other user and both have to select a number between 1 and 10, you go for 7 while he goes for 9. The winning number is 8.

If the prize is 0.1BTC what would you do? Split the prize and walk away with 0.05 or Reroll to gamble for the full prize?

With reroll you have (only) 10% chance to double the potential win, so I thing split is better option. At the end is it 50%, if the rules for split are different the decision could be more complicated. Sometimes situation like that happens when poker players at final table decide to split the prize taking into account their balance. As in your case it is 50/50, both sides should be satisfied.
434  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How was the Bitcoin Core source code designed and written? on: October 20, 2022, 07:58:58 AM
But I'm always jumping from file to file while looking at some detail. Maybe I should understand by module? Such as P2P, consensus mechanism, mathematics and cryptography, transaction memory pool, transaction verification, block verification, wallet, etc.

Yes, maybe it is a good idea. Try to understand which features are present and how they are implemented. Is there any particular subject you are interested in?
Remember that many features were added "recently" and they did not exists in the early versions, so maybe you should start with more basic code, not the latest release.
435  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: October 20, 2022, 07:23:28 AM
Don't forget to look at your email to see it's Wheel Of Fortune where you can get 1 free credit spin that you can claim a prize every day which goes directly into your freebitcoin account, don't miss it even if you only get a little BTC or other prizes but it will be worth it in the next 30 years

Just do not forget that free/daily WOF expires quickly, while premium WOFs stay as long as you want. And do not forget that any WOF executed decreases your % bonus significantly!
One day I will have to check how much you must wager to compensate single WOF or free roll.
436  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How was the Bitcoin Core source code designed and written? on: October 20, 2022, 07:05:20 AM
What exactly you are interested in? Do you want to analyze the code or the way how team worked?
The code is available under https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin but I am not sure how old versions are there, probably - if you look for the very early releases - you should look somewhere else.
Look at that topic : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=68121.0, you will find there link to the very first release (and discussion).

4 more days left for the betting round to end. It seems that people are predicting bitcoin to stay in the same range this time.
It does makes sense though since bitcoin has been idle in this range for quite a while now.

Or maybe it is a time for a stronger movement? Nah, I do not think so. By the way, I wonder if we have somewhere statistics from the last 4-5 years how long BTC price stayed in a given range (2-3k wide).
FUN token price as always seems to be a good option, $0.005001 - $0.0075 with odds 1.25 has many supporters, as always.
438  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: October 19, 2022, 09:24:52 AM
Did we had more Lambo winners coming here to post here about their luck? BTW, it's bad winners of previous rounds aren't displayed on Freebitco.in. It would be interesting to compare how many tickets they had. From what I remember, they had much more.

Yeah, one guy did post a mini AMA quite some time back, although it costed him more than a Lambo to win a Lambo

I do not think anyone comes to freebitco to "win a Lambo", it is just a "side-effect". As it was said before, buying tickets would be an insane task. BUT, wagering and collecting tickets is a different story. Of course there is always a question how much you may get from your bets, because you may lose (almost) everything. Then indeed, even main prize could be not enough to cover expenses.
I would say that everyone should just do what they like the most, lambo and weekly lottery are just an add-ons, not the main reason to be here.
439  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: October 19, 2022, 09:17:16 AM

440  Local / Polski / Re: Meme coiny do kupienia w 2022 roku on: October 19, 2022, 09:11:30 AM

Stabilne zero to też coś.
