421  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Thinking of offering loans... Anyone have suggestions? on: February 22, 2015, 03:29:55 PM
I'm interested in offering loans, more as a social experiment than investment. I'm curious if anyone who has *successfully* lent coins (and been paid back) cares to share his/her method with the forum. Much appreciated.

1. Read the threads written by mods about lending activity.
2. Don't loan to newbie
3. Watch reputation and last post of people asking for loan
4. If password has been reset recently, ask for a signed message (account has maybe been hacked)
5. If you want to guarantee your loans, ask for a collateral you will be able to resell Smiley

Good luck. Full of scammers here Smiley
this guy pretty much summed it up.
IMO i dont think loaning is gonna be profitable unless you make sure to never get scammed.

very favorable loan repayment system flowering Smiley

if you do not want to get a scammer, every person who borrows must be possessed positive trust a pretty good Smiley
positive trust isent enough , there's alot of hacked accounts , and sold accounts.

Really looking forward to all of the nuclear and coal plants being shut down.

I fully agree with the coal plants being shut down.  But why nuclear?  We can now build nuclear plants that generate no waste and do not melt down.  That makes them clean and safe.  Also material from old nuke weapons are being used in nuclear reactors.  What an excellent way of getting rid of these dangerous weapons.
we can build nuclear plants that generate no waste ? ! O_o
what the fk have i missed please link me to an article or smth

os2sam apparently drank the Koolaid (jim jones brand, not to be confused with the stuff john lennon was drinking when he wrote imagine) and is just regurgitating the propaganda that he was told.
US just dropped 50billion on 2 nuclear plants that will probably never produce any energy(too dangerous to run, every nuclear plant should have been shut down years ago), for the same money we could put up twice as much solar power and have it all running in less than a year.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUPPWIzuOR0

There is nothing stopping people from putting up solar panels and grid tied systems.  I was on track to do the same myself before I got laid off a few years ago due the the economy and cutbacks.

But it just isn't cost efficient for utility companies to go all solar, if it were they certainly would have.  As for the documentary, while it was a pro nuclear one, as they stated up front, the technology has improved allot, there is just no denying that.  Not sure what plants your talking about but I would like to find out.

Solar is a great solution for home owners.  But to put up enough panels to power a city would be impossible.
documentaries arent always true tho , i dont live in the us i live in europe , and ive never heard about such thing.

Hardly moving big numbers. Would be nice to see the diff drop to where it was back in 2012 when first lot of asics where coming online.  Mining btc now days is worthless due to power used and what it costs is not effective.
its not useless if you have free electricity : >

433  Other / New forum software / Re: Embeed YouTube videos on: February 22, 2015, 02:09:46 PM
SWF is insecure, there are a lot of 0-day exploits out there. HTML5 on the other hand is better, maybe only allow HTML5 videos for the tag?

YouTube embed code is an iframe. I don't know if we can control whether it will load an HTML5 player of a Flash player.

You can force YouTube to use HTML5 by adding '?html5=1' to the end of the video.  It has been a while since I used this tag, but I think it still works.
really ? , gonna start doing that o_o thanks for the tip
434  Other / New forum software / Re: Embeed YouTube videos on: February 22, 2015, 02:09:10 PM
Flash is insecure and that's the reason why it's not used on the current forum software. Embedding SWF would be annoying also. I don't see the hardship of linking a video.
well , being able to directly show a video , will get more views and it will look alot more proffesional :>
435  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to accept bitcoin on a website ? on: February 22, 2015, 02:07:52 PM
Yes. You just state: "Bitcoin accepted here".

When someone wants to pay you, email them an address (and QR code is nice). That's all. Of course when you roll your own you will need to set up an exchange account to buy dollars with your BTC. Or find a supplier who also takes BTC and use them. It is also a best practice to use each addy one time. I might further create a ton of addresses from a wallet then take it offline.

I must say though, BitPay is hard to beat. It's free for the retailer and 3% more profitable than credit cards.
this might be the easiest way, but far from the best way to accept payments.
436  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: We dont have enough decimal places. on: February 22, 2015, 02:06:22 PM
The word "satoshi" as a denomination of currency sounds ridiculous. Too Japanese (i.e. not global) and draws too much attention to the fact that BTC was in a way created in Rothschildesque secrecy.
it looks cool to me, im ok with japanese culture. What do you propose, bits??

I prefer "Nan" (short for nanobitcoins, but don't tell people that or they'll get scared by the technical sound of it).

1 Satoshi is 10 Nan.

Since most people that like "bits" say that 1 bit = 100 Satoshi, that would mean that 1 bit is 1,000 Nan (or 1 KiloNan, or 1 KNan).
As such, bitcoin amounts could be written as follows:

10 Nan  = 0.00000001 BTC (or 0.01 bits, or 1 Satoshi)
1 KNan  = 0.000001 BTC (or 1 bits, or 100 Satoshi)
1 MNan  = 0.001 BTC or 1000 bits, or 100000 Satoshi)
1 GNan  = 1 BTC or 1000000 bits, or 100000000 Satoshi)
1 TNan = 1000 BTC
1 PNan = 1000000 BTC
21 PNan = 21000000 BTC (there will never be this many bitcoins in existence).
well we cant be sure , maybe some nsa guy changes code of bitcoin and makes sure everyone gets a million btc : <

438  Economy / Economics / Re: I just created 100 pennies.. and loaned them out, you owe me 101 pennies….. on: February 22, 2015, 01:59:00 PM
...When they buy gov. bonds with this newly created currency they are swapping something that they can simply print out of thin air and then collecting interest on it...

And BTC is not created "out of thin air"?   And please don't start again with the old saw that BTC represents wasted electricity & digital thumb-twiddling.

nope , btc is created out of electricity and math my friend.
439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is hopeless, sell your coins now on: February 22, 2015, 01:58:10 PM
you have all been warned.  close this website and never return again
we've also been exposed to the best currency there is , the world NEEDS bitcoin.  the only thing that would make bitcoin fail would be people not realising how revelutionary bitcoin is .
440  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is hopeless, sell your coins now on: February 22, 2015, 01:56:46 PM
