However, violence needs to be addressed at its sources

Violence needs to be addressed at 'violence' level, not on people 'having wrong opinions' level.

Picking the worst messages you can find, clearly made by disturbed individuals, and trying to pass them of as being representative for all Trump supporters is just morally and intellectually wrong. You can find tweets like this on twitter from disturbed leftists as well if you look hard enough.

HairyMaclairy will figure it out, when the ban machine turns on leftists eventually.

One day Bernie/AOC/progressives will be banned across social media for "incitement", they will be very surprised.

"But we talked about revolution and defunding the police in a good way!", they'll claim.

Also, it's not being "extreme left" to prevent people from organizing a coup and lynchings, it's called civilization.

This whole thing is heading towards War of Terror 2.0 domestic edition.

There will be Patriot Act 2.0 and then 3.0 and there will be bitcoin sections in them, no doubt.

They already started to block some rioters PayPal and Venmo accounts.

Will they go after bitcoin next? We'll see.

They can't destroy bitcoin, but they can choke the retail usage by over-regulating it. "Accredited investors" will be fine, of course.

The US likes to go from one extreme to the other, it seems. Maybe a bit more moderation could have prevented that ? Deleting Trump's racist tweets starting 10 years ago for example, or at least putting the disclaimers they now put ?

They always wanted Twitter ban, and they finally found a good enough excuse.

This is from 2019:

Quote
Harris and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) clashed at Tuesday’s Democratic debate when the California senator tried to push her Massachusetts counterpart to call for the president’s Twitter account to be suspended.

Trump is pretending to give up to create a false sense of calm. This is not over yet.  Not by a long shot.

I would watch carefully for him leaving the country, putting himself out of reach of the US authorities.  Historically coup leaders leave their country before striking.

Trump is completely incapable of making a long-term plan. Instead, he'll continue watching TV and shitposting on social media.

I posted this in 2017 and my post was deleted.

Posting it again, today:

Today is a good day for this.

You have to be immune to people's talks, because not many can get along with somebody making a living of not working.

I already started to tell friends and relatives that soon I'll be working from home.

In reality, I'm thinking which hobbies I will try. The more the better, it's important to get busy.

Bears want to push it under 30k, but I doubt they have enough ammo to achieve that.

Let's pause that rally for a day or two and go sideways until AlcoHodl is back and well and can enjoy the uppity with us. Shall we?

If Bob would stop buying for a moment, that should do it  Wink

Seriously though: Get well soon, holding my thumbs for a quick recovery!

my grandma is 93. she has been a tarot fortuneteller for more than 50 years. this morning she called me and told me bitcoin was at $34k and that it will hit 80k before a significant pull back. this is unprecedented. in all those years that i am involved in bitcoin, she never made a price prediction. and she rarely ever calls me. (by the way: she will get her covid vaccine tomorrow)

caution! i dont know if she was referring to $ or € when she talked about 80k  Cheesy

I choose to believe!
