On January 3, 2009, the #bitcoin experiment began. The world was changed forever.
The separation of money and state became a real possibility for millions, billions.
Thank you, Satoshi, Hal Finney, and all of the other earliest bitcoin experimenters.

I pray the lord we stop at these prices for at least a week.. The rise is accelerating to gut wrenching levels.
Let this bullrun chill out or else we'll blow off top.

Still alive, thanks so much to everyone for your replies and merits. Good advices given that will help me get through this.

You don't fully realise the seriousness of COVID-19 until you get it. I still don't actually know if what I have is COVID-19, but symptoms point to that direction... Should do a test to find out. Until now I'm confined at home with zero contact with others.

Now on day 4 from onset of symptoms. By day 5-6, and if things get serious, I should be getting shortness of breath, at which point I should be admitted to hospital. If this does not happen, then it may be possible to fight this at home on my own. I hope so.

Sounds like covid. Hate to say this, but I believe in facing reality: Make sure someone has access to your coins. Reason being I have had two people in December die of COVID. Both felt terrible, went to hospital, felt much better in 2 days, talked to me on the phone about how it really sucked, it wasn't the flu and holy fuck what a nightmare including the shits. The next morning both were dead. They go fast after getting "better".

Please take care of yourself and watch this carefully. I hate seeing people die of this completely preventable shit.

I appreciate the post, although it's scary as hell. As I said, you don't fully appreciate the seriousness of the situation until it happens to you. My advice to all is to not get close to people not wearing masks or wearing them improperly. If the situation is such that there is pressure on you to talk or interact with them, just say NO. You may be wearing your mask and everything (as I was), but the issue is not you, it's the ones you come in contact with! So, stay SAFE, take it VERY seriously, and REFUSE to get close to those without proper protection.

On topic, I see we passed the 27k € ($34k) mark, which is just AWESOME! I saw one big but very brief dip, which was quickly absorbed by the buying pressure. It seems that any corrections (big or small) are quickly counteracted by pumps that bring the price back to its "slow" upward course. If we keep going like this, $100k should easily be reached in 2021. Actually, predictions talk about as high as $400k, but for me $100k as a correction-stabilized price for 2021 is more than satisfactory. I'm sure many of us WOers' lives will change when this happens.

Onwards & upwards!

I received bitcoin worth of 0.19 usd on my ledger wallet yesterday. Nobody knows my ledger besides bitstamp. Anybody knows where this could come from?
Dust spam. It will cost you more than 0.19 to move that UTXO and you may expose your other addresses by doing so. Not sure if Ledger allows to ignore inputs but if it does you should do that.

I've gotten more dust attacks than I care to admit. Always be sure to use Coin Control when possible, for outgoing transactions, avoiding those dust inputs.

Wonder when the day will come when it's reasonable to consolidate all the dust transactions into one address.

Never heared of that. All my bitcoins are on one adress on the ledger. And it has been sent to that adress.

Ledger uses "accounts" which have different addresses (all derived from the same seed). But if you are completely sure it is only one ADDRESS (not an account) where all your BTC is and that is where the dust was sent... then simply ignore, you are just $0.19 richer.

Ok, makes sense. Then it is what you are saying. I thought its one bitcoin adress but I have no idea how the ledger works. What I care about is that my coins are offline and safe. And that seems the case.

Just wow! My current (unrealized) networth places me in the company of the 900 richest people in my country, according to the official statistics. I guess there are some more hodlers like me not counted by that statistic. Anyway, this is a good occasion to celebrate! Cheers mates! yeah, that was also my thought. in the country i live in, making it to the top 1000 list one would need more than $125mio. i would love to achieve that but bitcoin would have to move to silly figures, so not likely at all.

nevertheless, congrats. new wealthy elite and such...  Cool

3 Jan anniversary!

Today is the anniversary day for Bitcoin's genesis block. Let's me use this remarkable day to make a plot for Bitcoin close price on 3Jan-dates. There are 2 exceptions: in 2013 and in 2021. Data from coinmarketcap.com in 2013 is from 29 Apr 2013, and this year, the date 3 Jan 2021 has not yet ended.

What a growth!

You can also look at price history for yearly low price in previous post.

The year 2020 ends with the last rising streak from 29 December 2020 to 2 Jan 2021. It is also a 55th Rise streak and 75th streak (for both Rise and Fall streaks) in history of bitcoin.

The close price on 2 Jan 2021 is $32,127 so if today the close price is higher than that, the 75th will keep going. Let's see.

When I have spare time in coming days, I will make the analysis for Weekly streaks that will be an upgraded from Daily streaks. Stay tuned!

Let's pause that rally for a day or two and go sideways until AlcoHodl is back and well and can enjoy the uppity with us. Shall we?

If Bob would stop buying for a moment, that should do it  Wink

Seriously though: Get well soon, holding my thumbs for a quick recovery!

Many feel that this #Bitcoin  market cycle is accelerating faster than 2017. As things heat up it's instructive to look back at past cycles to see how on-chain metrics moved and get some context into our current trajectory.

Europeans scare easily? Weak hands?

This was a single sale -20% at the time when the price on other exchanges was -3%. The liquidity on kraken can't handle well big sells, this is well known. Besides, kraken trading freezes often during intense pumps. In such occasions it is possible some sell for example to go wrong ignoring the bids and chosing some bid -20%. It happened to me once in 2017, and to many others both on kraken and coinbase during these freezings.

Add Polo to that list

It was always recommended  to refresh before you do anything. Cos you might not be looking at the actual now price.

Surprise, surprise.
Just received a mail from Bittrex, that they successfully verified my Global account (KYC).
I have totally forgot about my application (no surprise, at least for me), don't even remember why i KYC'd at Bittrex anyway.  Roll Eyes

EDIT: Forgot the main thing, it must have been two years ago that i applied there.
