4241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So is bitcoin really limited supply or not? on: November 11, 2017, 03:38:45 PM
but if i had to guess, i would say you will never post on bitcointalk using this account ever again after the BCH pump was over...

I thought Eth was being pumped when it was 10 cents.

Well it was but you can see what happened.

and what happened?
eth is still the same pump and dump altcoin with nothing to offer other than a place for ICOs to scam people. and it is now littered with at least 6 major hacks caused by the same developers on their main client leading to millions of dollar lost.
a congested network with a bloated blockchain which makes running a full node for it impossible.
the number of nodes shrinking day by day and will soon fall under 20.
countries banning ICOs which is the only life support it has...

should i go on?
4242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 24 hr Vol USD 3 - 4 billions recently! on: November 11, 2017, 03:28:19 PM
it has been like this for a while now. and what did you expect when bitcoin is being advertised on the media and every big and small players are talking about it, that attracts a lot of money towards bitcoin. despite the current fall the buy support is strong and huge because of all that.

and by the way it is $5.5 billion dollar in past 24 hours according to coinmarketcap.com which adds the volume of all the exchanges. about $900 million of it belongs to bitfinex
4243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin practically finished considering no more development will be done? on: November 11, 2017, 03:10:39 PM
first of all bitcoin is working fine, it worked fine even before all this drama heated up last year. secondly development of bitcoin will never stop even if all the current developers dropped dead. it is not like they are the only people in the world who know how to code. and finally they are not going anywhere, the development is still active and strong.

these side projects, some of which trying to take over, will come and go and their developers give up because they can no longer achieve their goals. that has nothing to do with bitcoin.
4244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why do you people say miners have switched to bitcoin cash? on: November 11, 2017, 02:44:03 PM
specially since the number of unconfirmed transactions has grown a lot, i keep reading different people say bitcoin miners have switched over to bitcoin cash.

although that seems like something they may do because of the lower difficulty and the current ongoing pump, but i can not see any change in the way bitcoin blocks are mined! there is still the same time between the blocks as before with same ups and downs. the hashrate also looks the same!

so what is it  that i am missing here? how do you say they are switching?

There are no switching costs. So the decision to switch is purely driven by which is more profitable (price/current hashing power). So even if some miners haven't switched to Bitcoin Cash, they should...

there is actually a huge cost.
when you mine bitcoin and its derivatives you will have to wait for 100 blocks before you are able to spend the block reward. and that means waiting for a highly volatile price before being able to get the fiat value of what you mined and it becomes even riskier when we are talking about bitcoin cash.

and last time they switched and mined 1000 blocks per day, the price of BCH crashed right after they got their rewards and dumped it.

right now they have mined 38 blocks in past hour instead of normal 4
4245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So is bitcoin really limited supply or not? on: November 11, 2017, 02:38:54 PM
go to this link and buy me one of the most popular games on steam gaming platform with one of these additional supplies coins:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/730/CounterStrike_Global_Offensive/

use bitcoin cash to buy it, if you could do that without converting bitcoin cash to bitcoin or fiat before making the purchase then you are correct the supply has been increased Wink

but if i had to guess, i would say you will never post on bitcointalk using this account ever again after the BCH pump was over...
4246  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc down, everything down... on: November 10, 2017, 05:40:36 PM
you can only trade everything else (aka altcoins) if either of these conditions are true:
1. bitcoin price is stable. stability can be short and it is when price fluctuates less than 10%. that time traders who can't really make much profit in bitcoin market switch to altcoins to pump them and make money.

2. if the altcoin is getting pumped. that requires the altcoin to not be in a bubble already. like what is happening to bitcoin cash. it was not in a bubble, in fact it was properly dumped and it is being pumped right now. in the following 2-6 months you will see lots of bag holders who have bought BCH on top of the upcoming bubble and will cry their hearts out about how good BCH is in hopes that it goes back up but it won't.
4247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Weird theory I heard of.. on: November 10, 2017, 05:30:57 PM
that is not a weird theory that is a dump theory of someone who either don't understand how market works or was trying to advertise bitcoin cash and help its pump so he could dump it a little higher.

the reality is that when they pump BCH price, some miners switch over because it is more profitable to mine something with lower difficulty when the price of it rises so BCH hashrate rises.
it is the same with bitcoin. you can put two charts of hashrate and price on each other and see with price rising from 400 to 800 then 1200 then 2000 and so on, hashrate have been rising and that is because it becomes increasingly more profitable to mine bitcoin as its price rises

in simple terms the theory is upside down!
4248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x continuing the fork ! on: November 10, 2017, 05:14:43 PM
Can they make up their minds, don't know what steps to take from here lol  Huh

"they" made up their minds already and made an announcement through the mailing list and as you can see "they" which included miners are slowly stopping to signal NYA .

the link in OP is made by someone else. most probably someone who have invested in BC2 futures and lost a lot of money
4249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am i too late on: November 10, 2017, 05:08:01 PM
once again the market is smiling upon everyone who has not yet invested in bitcoin and wanted to become a part of this community and hold some small stake in this scarce currency.
this smiling won't last for long though.

it is not too late, but still you have to invest what you can afford to lose. you can wait a little while to see when this dip is going to end before jumping in if you want to take risks, or you can just buy now since it is a dip.
4250  Economy / Speculation / Re: SW2x cancelation will crash Bitcoin on: November 09, 2017, 04:31:14 PM
It would be interesting to know since when the people, who signed the recent message regarding the fork knew that the fork
was never going to happen.

people who signed the message in the mailing list of SegWit2x are the ONLY reason why people are saying the fork is not going to happen or canceled! there were no other indications. of course apart from ViaBTC now signalling for bitcoin cash instead of NYA Grin but i think that happened after the email was released.

and all about this can be considered as good news in my opinion. now there is no risk of any kind of split as it was before.
4251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google results show more people searching for Bitcoin than gold on: November 09, 2017, 04:14:45 PM
What else do people need to know about gold? Perhaps they already have many of then in their vault
But they still dont know about bitcoin, that's they search it  Grin

people don't search about a topic just to know about it. they also search for the news about that thing they are searching for Cheesy
for example they can search "why gold price rise, falls,... what is going to happen, how to buy it,..." but they are instead searching all that about bitcoin. it can be just news about bitcoin or gold, or it can be where to buy/sell or simply the price of it.
the total "trend" shows bitcoin is ahead. but the important part is that it is increasing which shows more people are getting to know bitcoin and even if some of them invest, that means more people are investing in bitcoin. and that justifies the current rally.
4252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2X Cancelled on: November 09, 2017, 04:04:29 PM
wow..thats bad, very bad this only means pump in altcoins

nothing about this is bad and it definitely doesn't mean pump in altcoins. i am sorry if you invested in some altcoin and want to to pump now, but there is a better chance of altcoins getting dumped now that bitcoin does not have the risk of being split because of Segwit2x!

and it was a mature move in my opinion. although there is some speculation that this was the plan all along but if we assume that is wrong, then it was a mature move to postpone the hard fork until it gets a high support and has no risk of dividing anything.
4253  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10k By March 2018 on: November 09, 2017, 03:57:01 PM
March is about 5 months from now and you want us to believe that bitcoin's growth is going to come to near halt so that it can only rise up to $10k which is a tiny 33% rise from current price?

i disagree! a 6% rise per month is too small for bitcoin, specially now that it is on the way up with adoption and all this media attention that bitcoin is receiving these days.
4254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: B2X is real Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2017, 04:14:41 PM
My understanding is that after the split, the price is the highest that is the real currency, other are altcoin.Should understand it is right.B2X is a necessity, because the chain of COINS of 1 m block data is really behind The Times.

if it was all about the price then ZCash beat bitcoin some time ago when each coin was worth 6 or 7 BTC at some point.
and no B2X is not a necessity. it is rushed and doesn't have enough support that a hard fork should have. although NYA had a lot of support back when it was activating SegWit, and nobody complained then Wink
4255  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Between Ether and Bitcoin, which will be on top in 5 years? on: November 07, 2017, 03:48:47 PM
i always find it funny how the ethereum bag holders keep creating new accounts to show their desperation for a pump.

Do you think Ether will catch up? The technology is more advanced, but will scalability of ethereum be an issue?

and what technology is that? the buggy platform which can not handle a surge of smart contract transactions, which is the only thing it was designed to do? you think this platform is more advanced than the cryptocurrency called bitcoin?
4256  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't Buy Bitcoin Now - At USD6000 on: November 07, 2017, 03:42:03 PM
Buy at anypoint untill 13th of november ,cause people will buy untill then no matter what.
Altcoin will drop by price and btc will be high as usal.
So buy now and donot re great.
A hard fork means your BTC would now be in both blockchains; but it is simple common sense that one of the two ledger must be invalidated in order that bitcoin is to be trusted - and survive. If the two forks last for years and I have my UTXO (unspent coins) in both ledger, that means both ledgers have been compromised. One must die off! Or one becomes the alt coin.

not at all. altcoins have survived for many years and their survival never meant bitcoin to be invalidated. they remain as an "alternative" and the main thing forever will remain bitcoin until years from now something better  comes along.
these forks are also temporary hiccups. after some short time they will just go into the list of "failed attempts" beside hundreds of others.
4257  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need your opinion. on: November 07, 2017, 03:01:51 PM
Using Bitcoin debit card will do more better.

it is my understanding that you will be paying an additional fee to the centralized service that issued that debit card for you when using their services.
also you will not be using bitcoin, you are using a third party!

if there is a direct way of purchasing with bitcoin without anyone in the middle that would be 10000 times better than using a bitcoin debit card through a third party and pay them!
4258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Middle East Richest Business Man, Won't Invest In Bitcoin on: November 07, 2017, 02:53:54 PM
since when do we talk about rich people investing or not investing in bitcoin? it is not even news-worthy if you ask me to write an article about such things.
and lets not forget that bitcoin is too small for people like that! the marketcap of bitcoin being nearly $120 billion is a bit misleading because when you compare it to the things these rich people invested in (such as Oil related stuff) you can see bitcoin is nothing in their eyes now.
4259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x hard fork and its consequences (Poll) on: November 07, 2017, 02:46:49 PM
to be honest i would do all of the above!

i think some combination of keep some sell some is the best approach to this upcoming fork. all the selling, even if they are small will leave you with some money at hand which you can keep ready (in your exchange wallet) and then buy more bitcoin when the end of the year rally is starting and enjoy the additional bitcoin that you get before the price reaches a new ATH.
4260  Economy / Speculation / Re: what do you think about bitcoin price in 2018? on: November 06, 2017, 06:12:52 AM
we can never know because a lot of unexpected things can happen in the future that have the potential of changing the course of price rise a lot. for example this year we had the Japanese mass adoption which started early on this year, we had the end of bitcoin scaling debate or at least end of most of the debate. and these two were huge unexpected changes that led to huge unexpected rises.

so the future rise may not be like this year but there will be more rise in 2018.
