4341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gas fees - Surge Prices on: February 14, 2021, 03:43:04 AM
I think the reason they raised the limit is because whenever they include a miner payout with a 1 Gwei fee they are basically losing maybe $2-5 per transaction since instead of getting paid to include someone’s transaction they are just doing a miner payout. So in the end the block reward is lower overall for the entire pool. I am not surprised they are doing this.

But if you think a regular transaction is bad, wait until you want to do a erc20 token transaction or worst an actual smart contract execution. It’s getting pretty ridiculous. Basically reminds me of the crazy $50 per transaction on the BTC network back in late 2017.

Lol. Crazy to see this old thread of mine still getting some bumps. Yeah the Tahiti were the king GPUs. You had a Large range of coins to mine starting with BTC then LTC then Darkcoin then ETH then ZEC and maybe XMR somewhere in there.

If you got a pair of them, you can sell them on Craigslist as a crossfire setup and they should game fairly well to a rx 570 since they got 3gb of ram. Great time to sell these cards at the moment. Only issue with mine is most fans are shot and can’t get replacements anymore.
4343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rejected shares rising in number on: February 12, 2021, 06:15:53 AM
Are you using any RX GPUs? For years I had issues where they would mine fine for a few days, then all of a sudden some GPU starts getting rejected shares. It would keep going up to like 10% rejected and the only way to fix was to reboot the rig. Usually fixed the issue. No idea why it happened because it would mine for days without rejected shares and then all of a sudden get rejected shares. I tried reducing memory clock or increasing voltages but it didn't seem to help.

So just keep rebooting and should fix the issue. If its a problem with the pool then obviously its not your GPUs fault and you just need to switch pools or wait for them to get it fixed. My advice is just use a miner like PhoenixMiner and use a pool like ethermine. There are guides on how you can easily get paid directly. Nicehash is great but there are issues from time to time.
4344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gas fees - Surge Prices on: February 12, 2021, 06:07:05 AM
Ethermine doesn't charge you any fees when they pay you. Usually you are paid when  you meet the min withdraw, which I think is 0.01 ETH and this payment is sent max once a week. They include the transaction in their pending transaction when someone on the pool finds a block and its sent with a 1 Gwei fee which is almost nothing.

So it was free sending the 0.01 ETH into your own wallet but when you send it to your Shakepay exchange you need to chose the lowest possible fee to get it confirmed within a few hours. Use this as a guide.

https://etherscan.io/gastracker

Currently for a simple ETH transaction its $4. Which in my opinion is fairly high. Hence mine for a few months and then just do 1 transaction and then your fee will be small relative to your transacted amount. Its not worth sending any ETH or BTC payments which are 2 figures.
4345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stay away from new POW coins on: February 12, 2021, 05:57:15 AM
Back in 2014 you had maybe a dozen or so coins to mine. LTC was the most profitable but from time to time there was Dogecoin, Darkcoin (now DASH), Maxcoin, etc. And every week or so there was 3-4 new coins released that you could mine for a few days with low difficulty, then usually in a few days they almost always got listed on some exchange. And usually sell for a large profit when it hit the exchange.

These days thanks to ETH and their ERC20 tokens. Most projects go straight into an ICO. You need to pay for the tokens, you can't mine them. Hence ETH is the most profitable for GPUs and XMR for CPUs and if there is some other coin out there the profits will more or less be the same since there are bots which hop from pool to pool based on profitability. So these days just save yourself the hassle and just mine ETH.
4346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH 1559 and 2.0: Update and Timelines on: February 12, 2021, 05:49:55 AM
Why would they want to eliminate ASICs exactly? To prevent them from dumping ETH? The rewards will just go to the GPU miners which will do more or less the same. Most ASIC farms are large corporations with lots of capital, they hold on to their mined ETH and BTC. Usually they sell when there is a bull market and not in a bear market.

GPUs miners are more home oriented and gamers. They basically need to sell their ETH at whatever price is at market to pay for their GPUs and electricity. They got less capital than large farms. Also like the above poster has said, some ASICs are 8GB anyways so there is no point in rising the DAG to eliminate them.
4347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bricked GPU? on: February 12, 2021, 05:41:46 AM
it is bad idea dont do that.
make sure working gpu plug into 1st 16x slot. then bricked gpu to 2nd 16x slot. if that doesnt help use riser for bricked gpu even that dont help order ch341a from amazon or aliexpress for 7-12$
I’ve got it to start now with the good gpu in slot 1 and the bricked gpu on a riser. However gpuz or amdvbflash do not see the bricked card. I actually just ordered a ch341a programmer from Amazon but I’m wondering if the 1 to 8 pin jump on the bios chip would work to get the computer to at least see the gpu?

Yes it puts it in some type of "debug" or "programming" mode. However if I recall you can only flash it that way in MS-DOS. I think I tried in Windows but it didn't work. Only way was to get some Win98 Boot disk and run the atiflash software from there.

If you shorted the pins and nothing is detected in atiwinflash, then most likely you didn't short it correctly, your finger moved or there is a bad connection. So keep trying different wires, paperclips, etc and one of them should work. Took a while for me the first time but this trick actually does work. You don't need the programmer from Amazon. A failed flash is very simple to fix.
4348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to tell when a trading bot is a scam on: February 11, 2021, 05:36:12 AM
The reason they don't work is the most obvious. If they worked, why would the creator be selling it for $50/month when they can just trade it with it themselves and make profits instead? These days there are high leverage futures where if you got like $1K you can easily trade up to $125K. So since so little capital is required, why doesn't the bot creator just trade himself on high leverage and eventually would make 5 or 6 figures. Probably alot less work than having to deal with finding members to buy the memberships for the bot.

I used to back test alot of these bots back in my forex days. In the end they are never reliable. I find that they either work in trending markets or only in sideways markets. Since you have no idea what kind of market we are in, then you might use the wrong strategy and end up losing money. Another way they aren't reliable is slippage, when you back-test you cant take into account slippage which is real when you are trading live.
4349  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to buy Bitcoin? on: February 11, 2021, 05:30:53 AM
In the past there were people who took out loans and sold their houses to buy crypto, it paid off however it was stupid risky and honestly you should never borrow money to invest. If you do that, its not considered investment really more like gambling. Reason why is because investments are generally with money you have and you want the money to grow so you invest it. However if you don't have any savings, and instead need to borrow money to invest then it becomes very emotional.

Since the money is not yours and you will be required to pay interest on it, you will become very emotional. Most likely it will go against you a little and you will pull out and then it might actually keep going higher and higher.

My advice, never borrow any money to trade or invest.
4350  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sending TrustToken (TWT) from Binance Smart Chain Wallet help on: February 11, 2021, 05:25:26 AM
Hey I actually figured it out.

The problem was if you believe it or not my monitor, for some reason during the day the brightness is higher and I didn't realise that to the right of the Token, was a checkbox. I actually only discovered this a few days later when I tried using the binance wallet during the night where the brightness wasn't as intense and I realise there is a check-mark there.

The box has a very small and thin faint border and its hard to see for some reason under certain monitor color settings. However I am glad I finally figured it out because it kept me puzzled why it works for you but not me.

Either way, thanks for all the replies in this thread.
4351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 09, 2021, 06:00:50 AM
So quite an unexpected turn of events in the last 24 hours. Elon was pumping Dogecoin for the last week or two and then Tesla released a report that they bought of $1.5B worth of BTC, not Dogecoin.

Some people are actually quite upset on the Reddit and Twitter regarding this. They are saying they feel tricked and don't understand why he did what he did. There was someone that predicted that Elon was shilling Doge to keep people's attention away from Bitcoin while his company purchased it instead.

Either way, did you know he was going to buy BTC? Personally his tweets I find are more for humor rather than anything concrete. So sure he hinted with the bio change on twitter and provided hints like "it was inevitable" however did you actually think he was going to go forth with it? I didn't. I however been following his crypto tweets for years. In the past he was asked if he would accept crypto for his Tesla's and he just avoided the question. Hence none of us assumed that his discussion with Microstrategy CEO would lead to anything concrete.
4352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How many DOGE coins will buy me the Tesla Cyber truck when it launches?? on: February 08, 2021, 06:16:36 AM
Right now it would be very difficult to make $40K trading Doge unless you got maybe 6 figures to play around with. The best time to buy Doge was when it touched 15 Sats a few months ago which was the low of DogeBTC in the last 5 years. And whenever it touched this area it usually rallied. I bought some in that area but I sold everything at 40-50 Sats because, breaking 100 sats just didn't seem possible.

At that time if you invested $2000 you would of had your Cybertruck for $40K since the price back then was like half a penny and it always reached $0.10 so its a gain of 20x. Will it do another 20x, highly unlikely since it would put its marketcap right near Ethereums which seems highly unlikely also due to the fact that Ethereum right now looks expensive also. So who knows, maybe wait for it to go to $1 then short $40000 worth and if it goes back down to half a penny you got your Cybertruck.
4353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's Tweets... on: February 08, 2021, 05:57:45 AM
He is smart and knows crypto have its potential for growth same with how he can use his being popular in having hype that can benefit him and many, if he's Satoshi I don't think he will hide it, he is just too smart to know that the market will react when he have tweets or know before that bitcoin is useful and have a chance of growth especially in the future.

This would be true if he was pumping Bitcoin or Litecoin or Ethereum or even Link. However Dogecoin is not cutting edge crypto technology. The coin is over-valued and eventually will start to collapse and it will lead to many people losing tons of money.

The reason why people invest in Dogecoin is because its cheaper than BTC at $40K. Most people think that if I buy 5 cent dogecoin today and it reaches $1 next month they will be rich. Basically a 20x move, and this is what BTC did back in 2017 so its seems its possible however they have no idea how large the market cap for Dogecoin is already.

For it to reach $1 a coin its market cap would need to be $128Billion so basically #3 coin behind Ethereum. This just doesn't seem possible at all.
4354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about DASH coin? Could see the ATH Again? on: February 08, 2021, 05:26:18 AM
I think if DASH was meant to go higher then it already would have. Many of the alt coins which were booming back in 2017 are not pumping this cycle. This cycle is mostly based on DeFI tokens. Look at how many others coin there are that would have went up already which are standing still doing nothing. I think DASH is one of those.

The fact that its a privacy coin is a negative trait due to all the regulations that is going on. XMR, ZEC and DASH all got removed from Bittrex a couple of weeks back and hence investors are scared to get involved.

I remember when DASH hit $100 for the first time, some guy shorted it on Poloniex with low-leverage, because he knew it would go back to $10 for sure. Well he ended up getting margin called for like 20 BTC when it hit $1600 a few months later. Then shortly after it reached a low of $35 and his trade would of been in huge profit if it wasnt for that margin call.
4355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 08, 2021, 05:05:17 AM
So does anyone here know exactly what Doge coin exactly offers? Last time I learnt about Dogecoin was back in 2014 when I was mining it with my R9 280X because it was slightly more profitable than Litecoin at the time.

From what I recall it was basically a fork from Litecoin except it had a different supply, different rewards. It was basically launched as a meme and everybody is surprised it was a big hit.

Litecoin has active devs however and they got Segwit and are basically the little sister to Bitcoin, but where does that put Dogecoin exactly? Because at around 8 cents, Doge market cap is pretty much higher than Litecoins. However since its a clone of LTC and offers less then its market cap obviously shouldn't be higher.

Reason why its important is because when Snoop or Elon or that KISS musician put in $1,000,000 in Doge and end up losing 90% of it, they are still rich. However when they get retail people to put their entire savings into Doge and lose it all then its going to give crypto a bad reputation in the near future.
4356  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sending TrustToken (TWT) from Binance Smart Chain Wallet help on: February 08, 2021, 12:27:13 AM
Yes I clicked the plus icon and there is a large list. First is BNB shown with balance and second is the TWT with the 99 tokens. However you can’t click it or anything. The mouse cursor is shown just like you want to select text to copy and paste. Clicking TWT from that list doesn’t do anything.

The extension looks identical to yours however I just can’t get the TWT to be shown in the main wallet under the BNB token like yours. This is very strange.

Thanks for taking the time to take photos, gave you some merits for your trouble.
4357  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sending TrustToken (TWT) from Binance Smart Chain Wallet help on: February 07, 2021, 06:59:23 PM
What firefox extension did you install? AFAIK the supported wallet that can receive the TWT airdrop from binance is only trust wallet and it's only available for mobile users not on any browser extension.

That's why it won't show there probably because TWT isn't listed on that wallet though you can see it on any blockexplorer.

The one found in the Firefox extension store, called Binanace Smart Wallet. What I find strange is that it shows up as received in the transaction history, and if you list the assets it shows up but there is no button to send this asset elsewhere.

The reason why I didn't use the mobile app is because I got an old iPhone and my iOS doesn't support it. I guess i'll have to borrow someone's phone for the time being and get it sent that way. Strange why they don't allow TWT to be used on their extensions.
4358  Economy / Service Discussion / Sending TrustToken (TWT) from Binance Smart Chain Wallet help on: February 07, 2021, 06:24:03 PM
Ok so I got the airdrop last month. Installed the extension in Firefox and withdrew the TWT from Binance into my wallet in the browser. All was well and it arrived.

Now I want to send it back to Binance however the TWT asset doesn’t appear. So I can’t send it. However it’s listed in the received.

I sent some BNB into the address thinking it’s why it doesn’t appear but it’s still not there. When I look at the block explorer it is listed under the token address.

Any help would be appreciated. Never used Binance smart chain before.
4359  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Indicator for good daily trading performance? on: February 07, 2021, 06:03:00 AM
1-2% is great and if you can do this everyday you would be a billionaire in no time pretty much. The key is to be consistent. I looked at the poll and apparently tons of people make between 2-4% per day which tell me one thing. People are way over-leveraging themselves or they are new traders who started to trade in the last 3 months.

What people don't realise is that markets are usually not this easy to trade. You can buy anything these days , whether its crypto, btc, alt, stocks and chances are you will make money. However eventually the markets might get choppy and that is when most people are cleaned out. The worse are choppy markets, even in bear markets you can make money however most people end up losing everything during sideways trading where its difficult to get a sense of short term direction.
4360  Economy / Economics / Re: Need not just stimulus but usdt stimulus on: February 07, 2021, 05:58:41 AM
Most people don't use their stimulus checks to invest in the stock market or crypto. If you really need the stimulus check then the stock market is the last place you are going to be depositing it in. Sure there are those who are already wealthy and they might see it as free money and decide to gamble it on stocks. However most people won't do that. Even if they are wealthy, they will maybe go to Walmart and buy a TV instead.

Hence why this idea doesn't make too much sense. Hence if someone really wants to use stimulus cheque to buy crypto, they can send it to their exchange and buy USDT themselves. Exchanges sometimes do have incentives. For example, Binance gave away TrustToken (TWT) to every trader on Binanance. Currently that token is worth $60 USDT or so.
