4361  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I admit to being a scammer, and having multiple accounts. on: August 12, 2011, 07:56:25 AM
I actually plan to leave after I pay back everybody. This forum is lame tbh.

It's lame to work hard to make an honest buck, isn't it?  Quit projecting.  Stick with the humility you almost showed at the beginning of this thread.

Edit:  Hastily posted, but this back-and-forth between shamelessness and humility makes me think you have other problems than scamming.  Bite back if you will.  You're still doing the right thing (right now).
4362  Economy / Goods / Re: 1 BTC - Random Cut Gemstones on: August 12, 2011, 03:07:58 AM
A 2nd and larger order has been placed!  This customer will receive the sapphire.

Unfortunately, while I do have 33 gems remaining, only about 10-15 of these are in a condition such that they do not have both easily visible chips or inclusions (since I'm not a gemologist, I'm not sure how much that matters, but as a consumer, I wouldn't be as pleased).  I had to make sure that I was picking some of the nicest-looking gemstones to give to the first 2 customers - first come, first serve.  Therefore, I will offer the remaining 33 gems for 2 BTC shipped U.S., 3 BTC shipped international.  It should be mentioned that in the two previous shipments, the buyers had their gems shipped in individual gem containers.  Because I had more gems than containers, these remaining gems would be shipped in only 3 gem containers and therefore not really suitable for display -- unless, of course, you were to remove 30 of them and keep you favorite 3 in the containers.

Here are pictures of these 33 gems to be sold as seen

On the bright side, I still have 3 gems (aside from the 33 previously mentioned) that in particular are worth selling/buying individually as I know their identities and have a good idea of their relative value.

Because of this, you still have the opportunity to buy...
1.)  A pair of identical, round-cut peridot (as shown in the first picture in the original post) that are beautiful to look at and would make wonderful earrings for a lucky lady.  These are in pristine condition and have zero visible chips or inclusions.  I purchased these individually myself and will be sad to part with them.  They really are quite stunning, especially up close.  You can purchase these as a pair for 2 BTC shipped US or 3 BTC shipped international (tracking will be included).

2.)  A beautiful, deep forest-green, emerald-cut chrome diopside (as shown in the 4th picture in the original post).  Again, I purchased this one individually and it too has zero visible chips or inclusions.  This one can also be yours for 2 BTC shipped US or 3 BTC shipped international (tracking will also be included).

These exclusive gems will, of course, be given their own individual gem cases.
4363  Economy / Goods / Re: NEED $650! HUGE SELL OUT [ELECTRONICS, PHONES, MISC ITEMS!] on: August 12, 2011, 12:48:33 AM
Bought it in Canada, 320GB System, It's about a year old. It's fat. Comes with 2 controllers.

Thank you! Though if it is a year old it is most certainly the slim. Yes, the PS3 slim is actually quite fat. Anyhow, Canadian PS3s will not play my EU bluerays, so I'm out.

It is slim? I can't tell slim from fat... unless I see both.

The slim has a dvd slot, where the fat has a lid that opens for the dvd on the top: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY7u-Imk6J4
Lol, totally didn't know I had a slim this whole time...  Tongue

The Slim's Shady.
4364  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Flexcoin is LIVE to everyone! on: August 11, 2011, 09:33:50 PM
But with TradeHill and Mt.Gox, I have been able to make 200% profit from my original investment in as little as 1 month.  How long would it take me to make 30 BTC from an original investment of, say, 10 BTC, using only Flexcoin?

That's like comparing a bank deposit with gambling. You earned 200%, but it was risky. Investments with lower risks provide lower interests.

Well, first of all, it wasn't that risky  Grin  Quite easy I thought it was.  I'm a day trader so that minimizes risk.  And, Tradehill and Mt. Gox have shown their faces.  I like that.

Second of all, that was my point.  It's not fair to compare the two, which is exactly what my post was about.  He made the comparison between the two, throwing Flexcoin in the middle of the same sentence as being comparable to Mt. Gox and TradeHill in that they all charge a fee.  I said what I said because it's not a fair comparison.  I can profit significantly on TH and Mt. Gox but cannot do the same with FlexCoin.
4365  Economy / Speculation / Re: CRASH!!!! on: August 11, 2011, 09:29:46 PM
In my opinion, no further crash attempts should be made before the conference.  Greedy, ignorant fools.
4366  Economy / Speculation / Re: What effect on the price will have the bitcoin conference next week? on: August 11, 2011, 09:28:55 PM
With good coverage I think it might help the price go up. Hopefully this dumper(s) won't be ruining the party like they are doing it now Smiley.

+ a lottttt
4367  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Flexcoin is LIVE to everyone! on: August 11, 2011, 09:21:52 PM
Sounds more like the Flexcoin guys just want to monopolize the transaction system so that they get a % of the BTCs in their system even though they are basically providing nothing useful. Online wallets are pointless. If you can't run the client on your computer you need to wake up and get your head out of the sand - Flexcoin, Mybitcoin, Instawallet, etc ----> they're all here to siphon *just a bit* of the creme off top.

If you don't want to use any service that charges a fee like tradehill, mtgox, flexcoin, campbx or any other bitcoin service then no one is forcing you to....  regardless you had a valid point regarding the balance displayed and that's being addressed.

With all due respect, I have made 2 accounts with you, and am very reluctant to deposit any BTC for many of the concerns listed here (e.g. proof of non-fractional reserves, no current implementation or proof of offline storage -- by the way, at least 95% should be stored offline -- the cater-to-the-rich interest system, etc.).  Comparing your site to tradehill/mt.gox/campbx is unjustified.  It's like making the argument "Bob likes pizza, Mike likes pizza, therefore bob is mike" (in the context that they both like pizza).  Yes, they all implement fees, But with TradeHill and Mt.Gox, I have been able to make 200% profit from my original investment in as little as 1 month.  How long would it take me to make 30 BTC from an original investment of, say, 10 BTC, using only Flexcoin?

I am not trying to hound you, even though after some of my more positive posts earlier in this thread it may now appear that I have jumped on a bandwagon of negativity and scrutiny.  But prima facie evidence suggests that not only have peoples' scam/loss worries increased exponentially since Mt. Gox, MyBitcoin, etc., but the number of scammers have increased exponentially as well, even during the past few weeks.

With reference to the interest problem, I think that a system that caters to the POOR would help your business long term.  So, for example (I haven't given this a lot of immediate thought), take into account the total number of BTC in you system, maybe average both the mean and median of total BTC in your system, have a set fee % rate, and then have all transaction fees from accounts below that average pay out to those above the average, and have all transaction fees from accounts above the average pay out those below it.  So...imaginary 11 account data set...

BTC = {1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, 100, 1000, 5000, 10000}
Mean =1620.8
Median = 25
1625.8/2 = 822.9
So, with the set fee, accounts 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, and 100 would all pay fee interest to the accounts with 1000, 5000, and 10,000.  In contrast, those with 1000, 5000, and 10,000 BTC would pay fees to the other 8 lower accounts below the 822.9 BTC threshold.  This would take into account the early adopter problem and the presumed fact that, like American class system, the top 1-5% of the Bitcoin population probably owns 95-99% of the Bitcoins (maybe a little less, I obviously am not sure).  Then, you can skim your little bit off the top.

Yeah, I did a little research too.  I think it's VERY interesting that both .ME and JoeyMarty gave each other reciprocal +1's on the 'honest traders' list and yet both members' accounts  were created on the same day within several hours of each other.

I retract my Xbox360 offer.
4369  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Dry Ice Cooling? on: August 11, 2011, 07:08:13 PM
dry ice is actually a common cooling method amongst performance overclockers however. There are pre-made and DIY DICE-pots (dry ice) available and they do give superb performance. However they are probably not cost effective as mentioned, compared to say, running a fan, though it's not really *that* expensive. $1/pound is easy to come by for even a modest customer, and that's a fair amount of dry ice really.

Personally, I do 2 things.  I buy glaciers at bottom-dollar prices, and I buy shit-tons of algae to suck up the carbon dioxide in my room so that heat escapes more easily.

Take a new avenue toward life and realize that with freedom comes sacrifice and a will to make change happen

With freedom comes sacrifice?  Freedom is dependent on the constraint of sacrifice?  Interesting...and thought provoking

Yes, Freedom requires sacrifice. You have to sacrifice government security, in order to enjoy true freedom.

Just interesting that the definition of freedom implies the lack of any constraint, which would contradict being dependent upon the constraint of sacrifice...

And yet, it seems that true freedom allows for that freedom to place it's own constraints, to simultaneously be free and not free at the same time...

And I'm sure you read into all of that when you said that to begin with...

There's a difference between being constrained by the laws of physics and being constrained by the actions of men.

Yeh, but in my opinion, freedom gets tossed around too carelessly without thinking about what it means.  Think about the implications that something like "America -- Land of the Free" has had over the course of history.  It's what makes some people think that, for example, the military fights for our freedom, and I think that's total bullshit if you think about what freedom actually means.  And, is your mind constrained to the laws of physics?  If not, then being "constrained" by the laws of physics applies to the object and not necessarily the subject, or perhaps, Descartes was just a total idiot.

Edit:  The military fights for a lack of perceived relative constraint might be better.

Lol, I hope you know that Bonker is putting these ridiculous threads out as jokes.  You shoulda seen his idea to forever leave a fridge with the door open next to your GPU in another thread.

.01 BTC sent Pubert.  I'm sending this because I sincerely care for your life as another human being, not because I think that .01 BTC will in any way help your financial circumstance, nor do I feel it's my responsibility to help you financially.  But, I want you to accept it and know that there's genuine care backing that BTC.
Thank you for your cheer up! I appreciate your donation. That was the best thing that happened to me in a looong time.

You're quite welcome bro, anytime.

Have you considered meditation?  Meditation has scientific, logical, and (to me) experiential validity as a means of increasing the total sum of peace and happiness in one's life.  In fact, many people for thousands of years have chosen an ascetic lifestyle so they can be alone and discover how to be happy -- that is, they choose to be alone so they can discover what is intrinsically beneficial, that which is inside of each and every one of us that has the potential to make us happy.

I truly believe the potential for happiness is with us always, but that, in your case, it might simply be covered up.  It's kind of like how the sun is always shining, even on a cloudy day, but you just can't always see it because sometimes the clouds are so dense.  But, if you concentrate hard enough, you can still feel its warmth and see the light shining through, making everything around you grow.

My advice -- try to establish hope in SOMETHING.  Even if your life sucks, maybe someone else can still benefit from you being alive.  Make someone smile; find a purpose; do something that gives even a tiny bit more significance to your life here.

In any case, just know that I care.  I want you here.

http://bitcoinduit.com/game/viewRound.php?id=EasyPayout

ROI: 15%
Jackpot: 5%
Minimum Deposit: 0.5000 BTC
Maximum Deposit: 2.0000 BTC
Expiration: 24 hours of inactivity

I've been seeing a lot of these pyramid games lately.  Would you mind telling me exactly how my deposit translates into potential earnings?  How do I win, and how can I lose?  And what's with the 24-hour expiration thing?

http://bitcoinduit.com/gamerules.html

Ahhh I see.  So essentially,  I always win as long as there's x amount of deposits placed after me, and probably only a few bids placed before the last bid will end up losing.  And the last bid wins jackpot if nobody else bids for 24 hours.

Any offers?  I'll give the first to order an extra deal.  This is because they will be helping me make my first transaction on here and I want to become known as someone who will appease his customers, especially as I may be interested in starting up Bitcoin-related businesses in the future.

First to order will receive 6 gems for 1 BTC and 15 gems for 2 BTC with free U.S. shipping (still must ask for .2BTC for international orders)

If the first person orders the 9 BTC deal, they will receive 60 gems (not 50) plus the chrome diopside, the dual-peridot, and the sapphire.

The site looks very interesting!  I will certainly keep an eye on this as it develops and I look forward to new products.
