then do not make a coin. period. if you feel the need to 'get your feet wet' then by all means there are literally a gazillion coins out there already that would creame their jeans to get fresh blood looking to help out and learn a thing or two. seriously, it would be easier then doing your own coin. contribute. learn. start coding. better yourself. BUMP i got 1000 XLB coins for if you can just get a seednode fired up that's basic POS stuff and you're more than welcome to be "The Dev" there at least 15 other decent coded POS that need a dev, even a novice DEV |

This is a long play, years down the road, the job assigned to UNO is make sure we are among the candidates of ALTernatives to BTC. Very least need to be above $1M in market cap to be 'seen'.
2. "why one would choose BTC over UNO"
Hard to be heard above all the buzz about BTC, but same tech less the inflation, it is a numbers game. Cost of transaction / network operations cost.
3. investment platform
That means you can invest in most crypto and use UNO as the instrument for entry and exit. This is a big point, difficult to pitch in 10 sec, but if I had to do it, ... Which wallet is easier to download and keep in sync? BTC or UNO?
edit: This is not theory. Today about 90UNO where traded for 4 different ALTs. Like POT, RDD, ZEIT, DGB, DOGE, FTC, Quark, BLK, DMD, or nearly HUNdred others, you can trade direct using your UNO no need to use BTC as the middleman.

Argument is simple. Un is part of the BTC Rail Road Co. If BTC fails, then UNO maybe fails. Else UNO virtually can not fail.
There are 2 other coins in the same bracket as UNO ... ix & i0 .. but they screwed up in 'fairness' and their ex market placements and daily volume reflect this. UNO has rightful claim to the position currently held by NMC, aka $5M in cap, they claim and shifted to 'Store of value' case use but funny thing is the reward schedule is still raining down new coins and will so for a long time.
More complex argument. If you are not paying attention to the base pair factor then you're doing it wrong! You can 'play' the market and ask/demand UNO in return. It works. UNO is not just a coin but an investment platform, like NXT, BTS, or XCP.
Small community? As compared to which coin? Ruby like 500 addresses ... UNO is north of 20k i believe ... and that can be fact checked. Or try bytecoin, how many hold that one? How about NXT started with no more than 75 holders, probably less.
If you want to test you're faith check the facts compare the numbers. Shit coins are dropping fast and furious. UNO is just patiently waiting it out, quietly expanding operations, and yes maturing nicely.

State of UnobtaniumI would like to think UNO is several stages ahead of nearly every POW coin, what happens to UNO is what will happen to the others ... same timeline but different time frame. Personal opinion is that UNO is priced fair @$10-$15/kg, and could be at that price if we just pump'd it up, not a difficult task see coins like Ruby, Earth, Byte are doing that, but reality and gravity sets in, and the 'market' is more aware of this technique. UNO has gone the other way, first built on real solid capital, we've tested the bottom now twice, and I suggest gone well past cost of productions, and have yet to evaluate the real top. Secondly, current cycle of low prices are a way to redistribute, and helps foster UNO becoming a kind of $ pegged coin like CLAM or NU or TET ... so fosters the generation of a real and true decentralized coin where the above 3 are very centralized. Chart says UNO is at the bottom, and ran a 1 year cycle, and just a notch above the bottom of a 2 year cycle, and thus a better investment after 2 years than btc, ha! So I am still surprised to see +100kg lots be dumped below 0.00299, as mentioned before that has to be below cost-of-production at this point in time. I suspect attempted market manipulation but it shows little results, so bad move. Yes someone could hit the market with 5-6 btc and UNO could likely hit 0.012-0.025 range. So there would be another sharp peak on the chart. Boring! My hope is take it up floor by floor, this keeps the market tight, encourages SHAPESHIFT and SAFECEX to tighten their spreads and take on more UNO stock on their inventory shelves which helps UNO be a kind of liquid asset. At this point it is an easy game, a dozen market makers stacking solid support levels but rotating out @ +10-20% gains ... repeat ... smart&decentralized market management. Seems to be the organic direction being set-up. Seems Bittrex leads the volume, but Bleu, cryptopia, and safecex all seem to be able to keep bid/ask 'within range' so UNO is achieving decentralized exchange market as well. There will be a hockey stick peak once the market takes more and more notice, you can already sense the tension wanting to snap up, but the longer and smoother the up shift can be delayed the better. (my opinion) To would be want to be whales. Well brother you had 2 years of potato heads droppin TONs! Run some baseline support for 6-12 months and you'll get what you seek

Good grief. "Prototanium" is the UNO testnet (with a branded wallet), it doesn't need and shouldn't have its own thread. Nor, as I have said before, should it be monetised.

Got to agree here. I think the whole monetisation of the UNO testnet as Prototanium is not a good idea. I think it also detracts from UNO mainnet, and for new investors would most likely be quite confusing. I have been around since the beginning of UNO and don't quite understand the need for Prototanium. Not to mention the fact that it is already 3/5ths mined before most people knew what had even happened which could be seen as... premine Hag was open and clear that he got many of the first blocks just playing with it he sold those chunks to help pay for a conference (fall 2015) monetization is on the order of under 1:100 ... so at best proto is to be unos penny penny you know that coin you won't even bother to pick up if it falls to the ground i would suggest the nickel, or 5% of UNO capital my opinion again proto is a fun presentation of the testnet (unique to uno) yes you can trade it, so that encourages sha 256 rig owners to keep the chain going creating value could help fund the dev/creator/project proto then becomes the R&D department of UN Just trolling, but does anyone need to dump up to 2 tons of Uno (250 minimum) today/tomorrow at 00275? POS sprouts forked? It's gone from 300-500 satoshi to 6 satoshi. At this point, I'm pretty much going to forget about this coin for the foreseeable future and let it just stake away into oblivion.
If you guys want to turn around this coin, I suggest that you find a dev who is willing to step up and support the wallet and get at least 2 more exchanges to pick this coin up. You maybe have a month before this coin is absolutely smashed to dust and is basically untradeable. I have my hands full right now with Casinocoin since we have news coming out about the scratch cards and I was up about $350k USD just last night. So, I don't think I can take on this coin right now. Besides, at this point, I'm not sure it's even worth it anymore.
