ATTENTION NEW BUYERS
ac2/cyrptohunter/iloveanoncoin or whoever you are. I dont understand why you keep posting the same shit. Sorry you missed the boat on darkcoin or have backed the wrong coin, u must have no life that you spend your time re-posting the same thing again and again in this and any other drk thread.

ffs crypto hunter, just pi$$ off. No body cares about the pre-mine bullshit, no body cares about the no-wallet on the first day. the only people that care about this crap are those that missed the boat on DRK and are now trying to spread bullshit about it.
It also seems the vast majority of crypto investors and miners across the globe dont give a shit either coz the price of drk has steadily risen from 0.001 to 0.006 over the last month or so and the network hasrate has doubled too.
you dont like DRK? Get over it and move on. Go invest and mine whatever crap shit coin you like.

I dont get the whole "how many coins will be mined" thing sorry, would someone care to explain why the total amount of DRK to be mined might be going from 22 million to 11 million and what the implications are? can this be changed etc?
I'm sorry for causing trouble. I was going by memory, but it's more like 14 million. What happens is that the rewards are diminished when more people mine. The more hash rate on this coin, the lower the reward until it hits a minimum of 5 coins. If we really are at 7 coins right now, I imagine we'll be at 5 in a week or so. Next year, and each year after, the number of coins will also be reduced 7%. So our minimum of 5 coins will be reduced more and more each year. That is what the chart shows. I always thought it was likely that we'd "hug the minimum number of coins line" as I said back then, and it seems that's indeed what is happening now.... OK thanks, I understand a little better now.

Have there been any major (or even minor) LTC developments lately?
Has LTC partnered with a major firm? Has a major online retailer agreed to sign up and accept LTC? Are there going to be any LTC ATM machines as per BTC?
As much as I like LTC, and hope that it goes up in value coz I hold a small amount, I cant see it doing much.
There is so much interest in other coins now that are actually offering the marketplace something usefull that LTC is just treading water it seems.
I dont devote my life to crypto currencies so i'm sure there is some action happening behind the scenes but unless LTC can announce something big, then it'll just be idling around $10 give or take until another altcoin takes it over.

The four major pools have OVER 93% of the hash rate. That is not healthy. Spread your hash folks! Darkcointalk pool currently has 0% fees !! ok, i'll bring my lowly 2.5mh across from suchpool....0% fee is nice. Lets hope a few more come across, only 7 workers at the moment.

so with this hardfork approaching, do i just download the new wallet as of the 15th from the main darkcoin website, install and move my wallet file across?
also, i'm not a hardcore trader or anything so charts dont mean too much to me, what's looking like the current floor, somewhere around 0.0056/57 maybe?
i bought a few more at .0059 and have little btc left to buy any more now if it drops any further.

Good news everyone!
So i've had 0.21 sitting in my legacy account for the last few weeks. Most days, about 0.0003 or 0.0005 was being moved across into my non-legacy account. Overnight i've had 0.01 moved across out of my legacy account.
I know it's not a huge amount but compared to what's been happening it looks like things are moving in the right direction.

i'll call it now...Evan Duffield will be on the cover of Time magazine for his work with DRK/Crypto Currencies within 3 years.

good to see DRK added, will check this out. thanks

this whole "Dark Ice" thing is intriguing....when do we get some more details?!
On another subject, yes I think a multipool that converts to DRK would be a good idea. Is this in the works? I would more than happily point my miner to it if something like this becomes available.

what's wrong with cryptsy withdrawals? they are not processing, aren't they on fork?
my cryptsy NXT withdrawals aren't going through either. i logged a ticket and was advised the transaction got 'stuck' and to re-try. I've retried and it's been "pending" for 2 days now! will log another ticket i guess.

back over .004 again.
nice article in wired too.

Yep, VTC for now.
I'd avoid X11 unless you use a FPGA
Who's using FPGAs for X11 ? yeh i'd be interested in that too! i dont get why X11/DRK wouldnt be a coin of preference if moving away from scrypt? especially with the northern hemisphere summer coming.

It's 'DarkCoin' not 'Dark Coin' it also says you can mine with ASICs

lol nice thread, I love the dedication you show to try and kill one of these things!

Hi all, i'm a long time miner (Go DRK!) but new to NXT. So i've installed the "one click install" wallet on my Windows 7 PC and all seems to be OK.
I've got 100 (less a couple for fee and test transaction) NXT in there, the wallet has been running for less than a day.
How long until i start forging? I think i read i need to keep it open for atleast 24 hours? On my Dashboard screen, when i click "forging" it says my net account balance is 0. yet I have 97 NXT? Is there anything I need to do now?
Once I start forging, if i reboot my PC for example, will i loose the 'forging' status when i re-launch my wallet?
Thanks, Ili
If anyone feeling generous pls help me build my NXT account: 13132972958635556559

so with NXT, if i have a wallet with say 1000 NXT, how long does it take to 'forge' new coins and how much will i get in return?
is there a minimum of coins you have to hold?
can someone give me a quick summary please? if you dont 'mine' nxt but rather earn them just by running a wallet then i'll give it a go. I've never really read much into the whole proof of stake thing.

Calling it now...
Darkcoin is the next "Litecoin"
Remember how everyone switched from bitcoin to litecoin and Litecoin's value shot up?
The same thing is happening to Darkcoin the past week or so.
I'll second that call. DRK will be where LTC is (or higher) within 6 months. If not, the first person to dig up this post of mine and prove me wrong will recieve 1 free DRK!** The North American winter mean a huge amount of hashing will move to X11 from Scrypt and lets face it, the only X11 coin with genuine purpose and marketability is DRK. Plus scrypt ASICs are due in Q2/3 which will push more miners away from Scrypt to Scrypt-N or X11. **Limited to one free DRK for the first person to start a new thread quoting me. Not valid with any other offer. Actual institute may differ from photo.

Ive just turned my GPUs off mining DRK as difficulty has shot up in the last few days. I'm waiting for winter to settle in here in Australia before I go back to DRK mining again as atleast the PC will keep my office warm.
