441  Economy / Services / Re: AWS VPS services for bitcoins on: February 25, 2015, 09:50:21 AM
I needed similar service during Maxcoin launch, with Nvidia powered VPS you could get some nice results with solo mining when only available pool was DDossed, but frankly, I wouldn't pay for whole year in advance thru 3rd party seller - risk of scam is too big, month-to-month all the way.

I just checked this site again, error messages are gone, but in payouts section there are no txtids, meaning that probably these "payouts" are fake.
Beware.
443  Economy / Gambling / Re: Coin Dicing - 1% House Edge - Premier Bitcoin Gambling! on: February 25, 2015, 09:32:30 AM
It does look strange on 1024x768 ipad screen, I don't think it should look that way, input fields are placed vertically.
You can request faucet even when you have money, it just doesn't add anything to,your balance... there should be some error message.
444  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: wordpress removes bitcoin payment option on: February 24, 2015, 11:04:04 PM
Also non-reversible payments might be a great thing for vendors but 99% of consumers are going to stick with reversible credit card payments (and don't see the costs anyway as they are generally hidden by the vendor).

For bigger purchases, sure, but for smaller ones it's not that important.
Plus you have to remember that in many countries where credit cards are relatively new payment method reversing card payment is not that easy, may take many months and most customers don't know about it!
Bank transfers are also usually non-reversible but are very popular method of payment in many places in the world.

445  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: whatbitcointhinks.com - Topical voting on: February 24, 2015, 10:55:01 PM
Do you mean the organisations would do this?

Yeah, but it's more of hypothetical problem as of now, it'll be a problem only if you get really big donations and by that time you'll probably know some clever solution to it  Wink
446  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: whatbitcointhinks.com - Topical voting on: February 24, 2015, 10:22:18 PM
Interesting project!

However posting exact names of organizations that can get donation may lead to some cheating as they can just send large amount of BTC at the very last moment to win whole pot...

Another thing, website is unreadable on iOS 6 Safari, you can't see which amount belongs to particular option...

447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: police pay ransom in btc on: February 24, 2015, 10:07:03 PM
Bitcoin is ideal tool for ransoms.
I heard about criminals sending (paper) letters full of threats to shop owners requesting some ransoms in BTC.
Anyway, these disk encrypting malware is terryfying, I heard about some Romanian guy who commited suicide because his computer got infected with this sh*t  Angry

Wait, what? Have they paid ransom with tax payers money?

Quote
The department felt it had no option but to pay up. Records show the department paid $606 in a money order, which included bank fees and surcharges, to a New York Bitcoin cafe.

I ain't no lawyer, but pretty sure that's not quite legal what they did.

They had no other way if disk was encrypted... unless it was older version of the virus which had bug in implementation of encryption algorithm that allowed to unlock locked computer quite easily.

sure not my, I only make copy from payout list, my investment very small Smiley

If it's not yours you can't really say if it's real payout, this could be fake investement&&payout by ponzi operator  Sad
452  Economy / Gambling / Re: sportbook bots on: February 24, 2015, 07:57:16 PM
Even if it is used for making live bets on opposite sides , why would you use a bot for it ? Wouldn''t you prefer making that bet manually ? as everything else will be selected manually as well.

Err, what?
With bot all you would have to do is to select events for a given day + fine tune betting algorithm used and push FIRE :þ button. Then you could take a nap.
To do this manually you would have to spend whole day in front of the computer and with multiple events chance of missing some bets would be high.
453  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Ponzi discussion thread.. Time for it to go? on: February 24, 2015, 07:51:15 PM
I was thinking about starting my own ponzi, fair one.
But then I lost my profits on altcoin market which means this idea is RIP.
But when, or maybe better to say if I recuperate my losses I will think about starting one.
I don't think ponzis will ever die, the temptation of easy money is just too strong - on both sides of a ponzi.

Banning ponzis... no, people here knows the risk.
Some of them even call bitcoin a ponzi
So in a way we're all playing in ponzi Grin

Solution: Prohibite the word ponzi made by newbies.

Well, what about selling accounts?
454  Economy / Gambling / Re: sportbook bots on: February 24, 2015, 07:43:06 PM
Some bots are programmed to bet on both sides of a line through live bets.

That's one of better uses I can think of.
Or betting when better side loses a goal.
Bot could be also used to read feed with picks and bet them, selecting bookie with best odds etc.
Bitcoin bookmakers would be best suited for this I think as it could work even with 0 balance on bookies account (auto funding with btc as needed).

Sorry, but I think you don`t have knowledge about forex.

You can view my live performance about my trade and also can view which trade give me profit and which trade give me loss
I don`t have to say I`m a good/bad trader.

Just post a status update on zulutrade saying "open for btc investements @ btctalk" or something along these lines, I already asked you for this, maybe you missed my previous post  Huh
Without this your offer/ account won't look trustworthy  Shocked

It's impossible to place bet during half-time (soccer).
I don't know how does it work with other bookmakers, but it's inconvenient.
