441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Volatility really a bad thing? on: December 08, 2013, 01:28:17 AM
Price corrections are growing pains as Bitcoin is being adopted its naturally finding more hands which will reduce volatility, at $10,000 Bitcoin will be far more stable then it is currently.

442  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's over. Bitcoin is finished. on: December 08, 2013, 01:17:24 AM
Another alarmist thread, this price correction is excellent as it weeds out all those that really have no clue about Bitcoin besides its short term dollar value - as in it's 3 weeks and I demand a 10 fold profit.

I bought Bitcoin at a $16.00 only to see it drop to $2.00 - maybe a stronger constitution is required

Re china-

There isn't any problem with Bitcoin in china, it's in the process of being regulated as a virtual commodity rather than a currency which is a good thing, baidu and china telecom have temporerily suspended Bitcoin acceptance while digesting this new regulation.

The west and media in general have been practically throffing at the mouth about a bubble pop, folks here selling who have no idea what in the world their doing, Bitcoin is truly shaping up to be the people currency pity at this point people are still in love with the devaluing dollar.

Bitcoin - a few weeks of recovery then new highs.

50% correction, you should have been here for the 80-90% ones, this price move isn't any big deal. The parabolic rises are great, exhilarating the drops are character building and make the next move all the sweeter.

Bitcoin is high risk highly volatile putting more fiat in than your willing to lose is a mistake, a comfortable amount invested long term is the best method.

After all it's your mentality and the many others like you that's causing the price drop  Grin

What's the problem with a 6 month mine? We still havent seen mass adoption of Bitcoin should they have the right to mine or shoud they just go buy some ?

I've been involved here for 3 years never mined a single crypto of any kind should I be angry at miners for getting in first ? Many miners see zero benefit in any crypto so they likely just sell straight away.

Dev's have a good share ? That's great gives them incentive to continue to develop further.

"replacing fiat" is a lofty idea, one that bitcoin doesn't need to attain to at all in order to be successful. The "currency" aspect of Bitcoin maybe the most exciting thing to talk about but it's Bitcoin the "protocol" where the real action is.

Bitcoin isn't best decribed as a currency at all really, a better discription might be "fluid commodity"

456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quark market - something interesting just spotted on: December 04, 2013, 08:01:22 PM
A read of the quarkcoins main thread from the beginning is quite interesting whereas there was the odd Loud call that they were too easy to mine at the start there's far more positive than negative comments.

As lots of quark were thrown around like confetti, I presume now it's had a measure of success those who gave thousands away because they thought they were worthless would be quite angry.

Any info on when quark will be listed on btc-e ?

THIS'S A SERIOUS ACHIEVEMENT!!

Yes, great news. Seems that there were insiders who knew about this promotion, they pressed prices and bought a lot at very low rate. And now...  Wink

mbtc = the quickest way to make everything priced in it look really expensive - its a crappo idea not sure who's pushing this, if your wondering why buying a Bitcoin is costing a bunch dollars it's due to the fact there being printed to infinity, in a few years time you'll be able to spot exactly where the nearest btc ATM is by the queue of wheel barrows.
