penis = pen  is

Had to see this photo at least five times to figure out the mistake.

Thanks for the laugh.

This site sometimes gets mistaken for something rude.

https://www.penisland.net/

It's a pefectly respectable site called Pen Island that sells pens.

Nonsense, there's lots of interesting things to do. Why not visit all the interesting places in this calendar?

Looks like she’s trying to break out again. Wonder if we’ll break $24,000 this weekend, if we do I doubt there’s much stopping us from going straight through $25,000.

Page parity soon?

Wink

I don't get it!  My gut told me $25k by Friday and here were are Friday and not even close.  Now I'm going to have to punish my gut with a large, double-cheese and pepperoni pizza tonight.

Like one of these?

The EU has legalized putting these bugs in foods:

https://www.bvl.bund.de/SharedDocs/Fachmeldungen/01_lebensmittel/2023/2023_01_25_Fa_Getreideschimmelkaefer.html

They need to be listed on the ingredients so that people allergic to it can avoid them.
Better get yourself a looking glass to read the 4pt fineprint on your next trip to the grocery.

By the way your strawberry flavored yoghurt has probably already got insects in it.

Quote
If you are horrified by the thought of eating insects, the bad news is that you have probably done so many, many times.

This is because one of the most widely used red food colourings - carmine - is made from crushed up bugs.

The insects used to make carmine are called cochineal, and are native to Latin America where they live on cacti.

Now farmed mainly in Peru, millions of the tiny insects are harvested every year to produce the colouring.

A staple of the global food industry, carmine is added to everything from yoghurts and ice creams, to fruit pies, soft drinks, cupcakes and donuts.

It is also used extensively in the cosmetics industry and is found in many lipsticks.

Marty! You gotta come back with me! Back To The Future!

What happens to us in the future?
Do we end up like assholes, investing in a cryptocurrency, it fails and we have to work at McDonald's?

Is that McDonald's in the UK, or McDonald's in America?

For those who want to look at the actual original, here's a link to the original message and forum thread started by member Sabunir.
The first item purchased with Bitcoin was an NFT? Grin

He was not claiming the JPEG to not be copiable, but he was claiming that he would send the original image that he had created to the person who completed the BTC transaction with him.  It's not even clear if he was successful to find someone to take the other end of his offered trade of individually created jpeg for 500 BTC.

...

The address he posted received 500 bitcoins on 24 Feb 2010, so it's likely he was successful eventually.

edit]

Maybe he wasn't successful. This is from a different thread requesting Bitcoin logo designs. Those bitcoins might have been for a logo.

...
Also, I thank those two who have donated to me. You did "made my day", and encouraged me to make artwork for Bitcoin.

Is there a new meme about McDonald's that I missed, aside from getting wrecked and going to work there ?

Maybe not.

...The first trades for goods and/or services were not the now infamous Pizzas! I remember buying US postage stamps from NewLibertyStandard before Laszlo posted the Pizza trade. I suspect that other trades also took place before that time, they were just not made publicly.

You have converted some nocoiners to coiners Gachapin?  It's not easy.

[...]

It sure is not easy. Of all friends/colleagues/relatives I've tried to introduce to Bitcoin, about 80% completely ignored me. Most of the remaining 20% became shitcoiners and ended up in much less profit, or even in losses...

Would be spectacular if human memory could just be read out like bits and restored like data backups.

Thankfully we will not live long enough to see this, can you imagine a world where those in power never die.

*and don't need to care if the world becomes unlivable for the rest.

well sideways in a 20.5 to 23.5 slot works for miners a lot better than sideways in a 15.5 to 17.5 slot.

My mining earnings are up.. And if we do do a really runup to 100k plus I will be ecstatic. since monthly earnings of the farm will also be an alltime high.

I would imagine that a lot of miners are still being hit with recent ATH's in difficulty..and looks like this upcoming period is not going to be any relief in that direction - yet sure perhaps some miners are profitable at these prices - and the miners who are getting punished are those who had overleveraged...

... there are two very well funded companies employing brilliant scientists (best money can fund) tasked with working on the "problem" of aging.
Apart from the "simple" life extension, Hal Finney, btw, flash-froze his body (or maybe just head, it is a bit cheaper).
Who knows, he might be coming back in 100-200 years.
While doing inheritance, maybe some ought to consider making similar arrangements and then have the legal mechanism in place to resume ownership (of at least part of the funds) if some re-animation would be possible in the future.

What if they re-animate you as a head in a jar? Do you get to spend your bitcoins on fancy fish food, or a fancy jar that doesn't double up as an ice bucket for beer?

The price was $2000 lower 24 hours ago...  Grin

Can’t believe we were at $16,xxx last month. I bought a handful in that range but sat on a pile of fiat waiting for lower. Feel like a bit of a moron now but it is what it is. I have enough bitcoin, was being greedy but greed is good sometimes Sad

IIRC, didn't you unload at about $65k and got it all in at $16-$20k again?
You can still buy little by little on the early up. You know the game  Grin

Good morning Bitcoinland. Greetings from sunny Playa del Carmen.

Other than a small dose of Montezuma's Revenge, been enjoying our stay here...

I took some holiday pics recently.
