441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 17, 2023, 03:26:07 PM
Let's start with the simple choice: Do you consider yourself to have a gambling problem affecting your happiness, security, relationships, finances, etc? (Yes or No)
Now, here is something a bit different: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? Either you make enough income to call it "adult play", so you do not have real problems, and/or you simply stop for a long time. Then - months or years later - it gets worse again and you are in trouble.

I’m struggling to control my gambling habits before of chasing losses whenever I’m down for the day. I usually can’t stop in lose while I still have money for bankroll btu this problem of mine happened when I’m still new online gambling.

I manage to control my problem by limiting only the amount that I can access when gambling by locking my funds on a time lock like Staking until I manage to control it by myself without locking by consistently doing it for a long time.
442  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quickest way to earn merit? on: December 16, 2023, 06:14:00 PM
I'm new here. What's all about this merit count? How is it earned? I'm assuming it's linked to the quality/usefulness of your posts/replies? Their originality maybe? What are usually the subjects you'd get the more merit for posting about?
You don't need to rush to get merits dude. If you become too desperate to get merits then you might get the contrary if you miss the track.
One of the ways you can get merits from the forum is by writing good content which is going to make people to give you merits.

He is not in rush but rather just asking question about merit. It’s common newbie question since merit is vital for rank up. There’s nothing wrong to ask for this kind of info.

Quote
You don't need to rush things because you might get a negative or neural trust along the way if people find you too desperate for merits hunting.
You just need to keep doing what you are good at and you will see merits coming your way.

It’s not worthy a negative feedback if a user is posting to earn merit since it does mean that he is providing quality post that’s why he is hoping for merit. The only time it will be a  worthy of negative trust is when the user contributes shit post and demand merits for it because that can be considered as spamming.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I ask for refund if casino game has bugs? on: December 16, 2023, 05:55:14 PM
There may be cases out there that are similar to what you said in the thread but I have never experienced it, after all why should the casino call the player to ask for a refund if their game actually has a bug, it should be their fault not the player's and the player deserves to get it winnings, if the casino insists on taking the winnings by force, the casino will definitely try to cheat users on the grounds that there is a bug in their slot game.

If you read carefully the OP. It’s the other way around, The topic is about players asking for a refund to a casino for a faulty games they have. Although there’s a lot of cases same that you mention which casino take back the player winning and claiming the software has a bug.

This kind of topic is almost impossible to achieve in reality because justifying your loss due to a bug on games is very hard to imply on a casino to get a refund. It’s easy to accept your losses rather than chase a refund on a casino.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How exactly do you find new tokens before they blow up. on: December 16, 2023, 03:21:36 PM
Finding a new Token that has a high selling value at the time of loncing, is like finding a needle in a haystack because finding it is impossible this year, it is very difficult, even though we have found it, we have to hunt with everyone, even all over the world, of course people out there looking for the same thing as when we get a token that might be good in the future.

If you are just manually browsing on tons of coins then it’s really like what you described but potential token usually is just connected to each other. You can use connections to track down potential tokens that will pump in the future since most of the investors is just jumping from one project to another. Just follow some low caps coins that successfully print x100 or more profit since they usually partner or promote new project for investment.

This is how many people keep jumping to new project without any hesitation because they believe that the investors of the successful project will follow the new project
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prove me wrong: Gambling is both more relaxing and entertaining than trading! on: December 16, 2023, 03:16:50 PM

With gambling, you chose on who to bet when to bet , once you do you you wait for the outcome at a fixed time!
With trading you chose your pair coins, you have to wait for the price to reach what you think it's an entry point and then set limits , watch the damn numbers even for days, even if you cash out in profit there can always be a regret you haven't kept the position opened

There’s a counter part of this on trading which is Binary Trading or Options trading which you will predict what’s the price position(below or over) to the current position on the given time frame same with betting on gambling.

However trading options is boring because you are just waiting and watching for the price compared on sports betting or in your case horse racing which you can enjoy watching the game and at the same time feel the thrill due to the money involved.
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Craze for Meme coins never ends? on: December 15, 2023, 08:47:32 PM

The common dilemma here is that you don't know which meme project will give you good profits.
As they are subject for pump and dump scheme, you won't know which one will exit the game.
Most are in disappearing act without prior warning, hence, it is hard to keep this type of investment for so long.

Exactly! The only entity who benefits on this meme coin craze are those influencers shit and trading signal providers that buying early meme coins before they share it to their followers and subscribers to pump the coin. Normal trader that following signal are the one gambling on meme coin investment while those influencers is benefiting on their money because they letting them to do that with them.

Meme coin is the easiest scam scheme nowadays since traders knew its a pump and dump yet still buying for chance to hit an easy x100 profit on a 100+ investment attempt on different meme coin.
447  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinMarketCap CMC listing problem on: December 15, 2023, 08:37:09 PM

I’m aware on the priority listing service on CMC but it doesn’t stated on the OP while CMC listing guy service is very popular on telegram and other social media channel that being use by many crypto project before the existence of this priority listing service by CMC itself.

Some of the CMC employees is working a side hustle on doing this job on their own and this is the service which I assume happened due to the duration of the waiting time which is ironic for the “priority listing” feature.  Cheesy
448  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinMarketCap CMC listing problem on: December 15, 2023, 04:22:46 PM
Has anyone else experienced delays or lack of response from Coin Market Cap after making an upfront payment for listing? My friend's exchange hasn't heard back for 6 weeks despite the initial ETA of 14 days. Any advice or similar experiences to share?

Coinmarketcap official listing is totally free. Probably you avail 3rd party services on listing to coinmarketcap and not the official one although CMC employee sometimes deliberately delaying the listing application through the official way just to make people use this kind of shady 3rd party listing.

Official listing can take weeks or months due to heavy volume of applications but I’m really sure you avail 3rd party service of listing which is not CMC scope anymore.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 15, 2023, 04:18:29 PM
On average, those who commit suicide are not true gamblers or professionals in their field, most of those who commit suicide are beginner gamblers who become gambling addicts because they do not limit the budget they have, use money for living needs, not money that is ready to be used until In the end it gave him a new problem, he had to borrow money from a loan shark and then get an evil loan shark.

I know that suicide cases are only carried out because of pressure which makes him increasingly frustrated, making his life no longer meaningful so he decides to end his life because he cannot pay debts or recover the money he has lost previously or it could be important assets that are sold because his gambling behavior is not controlled and he limits his budget properly. This should be an important lesson for beginners to understand every risk of gambling such as losing.

It’s true that most of the newbie players is prone on playing without any control that will result to suicide when loss heavily but there some cases too that even old player commit suicide if they lose huge amount since old players is not exempted on suffering huge loses on gambling.

On this story, I believe he is just the newbie since the amount involved is too small that needs to resort to suicide to to cope on loses.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin community are in support of BRC20 on: December 15, 2023, 02:41:13 PM
Who are pumping them? I do not want to believe it is not bitcoin people.

This is what they called Aping. Buying tokens without doing research as long as it’s on hype. This is very common scenario on BSC and ETH when meme coin become popular. People is pouring tons of money on a project without researching and just following the hype of the social media influencer promoting it.

Shitcoins doesn’t need to do much marketing if the project is on hype on this case BRC20. Crypto investors is insane when it comes to hype investment due to the potential profit short term.
451  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does technical analysis work in crypto trading? on: December 14, 2023, 04:55:36 PM
For all my 5 months in trading, I'm learning only technical analysis but now everyone is talking about the concept of "Smart Money". So I think that trading is changing and speculators should stop trading based on technical analysis. Or smart money just a concept that cannot possibly work in the market,

Even on stock trading smart money works like a wild horse that defy technical analysis due to their capital size but technical analysis will usually work in normal trading scenario. This is why trader should always set a stop loss on their trade because analysis can’t guarantee 100% success rate.

The only advantage of smart money on crypto trading is they can manipulate the price of a certain token but you can always use this as an advantage by following the smart money moves.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll! on: December 14, 2023, 03:18:41 PM

1. How much bankroll can you afford to start with?

First of all, I doubt most of us here will consider to become full on sports betting instead of having a job for secure profit but for the sake of hypothetical discussion my answer is as ff.

Maximum 1000$

Quote
2. With your bankroll, how much expected profit do you anticipate in a year?
Around 100$ to 500$ is my sweet spot for profit. I’m not expecting it but rather just a target profit.

Quote
3. Will you be content with your profit? If not, have you considered increasing your bankroll, even if you cannot afford it?

I will be contented on any profit because any profit is precious when it comes to gambling. Increasing the bankroll just to expect higher profit is nonsense because the outcome is still unknown regardless of our bankroll size.
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Aspect of Sports Betting or Casino Gambling Posed a Challenge for You? on: December 08, 2023, 08:42:37 PM
What aspect of sports betting or casino gambling posed an initial challenge for you when you first started, but which you eventually grasped? How did you finally understand it. Did a friend explain it, did you watch a YouTube video, participate in a sports betting community on social media, or did you figure it out through a trial-and-error approach?

Most of the mechanics of the casino game and sports betting is pretty straightforward nowadays but the one thing that makes me confused before is the US format for the odds on sports betting which is in the form of positive and negative numbers and not in decimal format. Until now I’m still confused on how to understand the payout because I’m used to decimal format.

Same with Blackjack game which I don’t know how to play properly on when to hit and stand because I just play it without reading the mechanics of the game fully.
454  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 08, 2023, 05:49:15 AM
What term retirement usually denotes to is, to stop working. People often don't like job, so to retire usually tends to be on top of the list. However, if one likes what he does, he will do something similar to pass the time even after retirement.

I believe most people will not look for a job if they already have the money sufficient to cover their daily expenses. Retirement is a term when you are already finished on working either due to age or you already acquired financial stability until your life end.

No one wants to work in reality if their life is already sufficient. Retirement is just the teem when you are already stop being a worker.
455  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sportsbet scam my $14450 please help me. on: December 04, 2023, 06:43:43 PM
Is the casino has the right to confiscate even the original deposit? Probably they are assuming that the funds obtained from the connected account was the one being deposited in the casino using the new account. I’m not really sure if it’s legally right to do it on new account deposit. They should at least refund the original deposit if we will use the law and not the casino ToS.

Sportsbet should provide here the detailed result of their investigation to create a solid justification for the confiscation of this huge amount to a new account.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: December 04, 2023, 06:06:47 PM
Meanwhile , the new Tundra line-up have just been revealed a few minutes ago : Yuma , Topson , Miero  , 9Class , Xakoda. Now , personally I didn't hear until now about 9Class or Xakoda ...and that's why I don't have full faith in this new Tundra team. I also think it's because of Topson the team left and decided to part ways...

What happened to previous roster of Team Tundra? They seems pretty solid and I’m not expecting to reshuffle their roster completely while they have a good result on many major tournaments.

I remember watching Xakoda many times on EEU region. I do some background check and he is a former mate of Yuma when they are on lower division team. Just like BZM and ATF being discovered by OG, I guess they have potential to excel too.
457  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: December 04, 2023, 05:33:26 PM

Are they even here on Bitcointalk anymore?

Their alleged "Legal Department" fixes all issues now, or what?

They only handle extreme cases here with solid proof and the rest is through the casino live support. Your case is really hard to win because you are just using stats on the result while your decision making is crucial on the result of Blackjack game unlike other games with just a 50% chance game with win/lose result only. On Blackjack, Your card hit can change the outcome of the game.
458  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: December 04, 2023, 05:20:46 PM
When it comes to slot games, I personally have come to the believe that most times, if not all times, winning is always programmed by the system, and how this is done is probably based on how much profit the casino have made and how much they are willing to give out to some of their customers in the form of winnings through slot games and some other pure luck based games.

So, whether a player buys free spins or not, I do not think this will make any much difference at the end of the day because, the player wil still depend on luck to win, so instead of trying to force luck on yourself through wasting money on free spins, better to just leave and try again some other time, and who knows, you may end up playing again at a time when the casino has much to give out in winning.

This is the common belief about slot RTP according to the locals that play slot games frequently on IRL casino here. They think that casino needs to take profit first from all the players before they will distribute payout to random user that is active playing the same slot games.

This is the reason why many slot players preferred to play hot games because they knew that many players already contributed to the pot and the game will payout frequently. Ofc this just an assumption but it’s still make if we consider how casino operators will guarantee profit from all of their games.
I do not believe that, if it is a mathematical reality and there is a proof to it then I would love ot be proven otherwise, but I feel like first bet after a huge win has the same chance to win again as the thousand bets after that, it should be like that. At least that's like that for dice, when you are gambling at dice, and you end up getting a huge win, you could bet again and get the same huge win, for example if you wager on 1/1000 chance to win then you may lose thousands of times in a row or you could have two in a row win, they are all possible mathematically, the more you gamble shouldn't mean the more you win.

This is of course just a guess and maybe I am not right and maybe it's not working like that but I do feel like that's an important situation to be in. I think it could very well be the key to fixing all of this gambling way too much issue because there are a lot of people who keep gambling because they think the more they do, the more they are getting closer to a win.

LOL. I don’t said its a mathematical facts but rather a common beliefs among gambler playing on slot since the code behind slot games is unknown.

Even your comment is BS as fuck because you don’t have any proof about your explanation yet you use the word “should” as if you are so sure on your opinion to the matter that is still unknown until now about how slot games works. It’s true that each bet is independent to each other but getting a multiple huge win on slot has different probability already since we are already talking about probability of having same outcome consecutively.

Again, talking about chances and mathematical arguments is bs on slot games since there’s no exact info on how RNG works on slot games.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sympathetic gamblers looses itself on: December 04, 2023, 03:13:42 PM
I have seen some facial expression gamblers that I am emotionally touched about and feels they have loosed more than they can handle and feels they deserves an condolence winning. While I empathic with him his amount of lost, I am then to consoling myself that someone on here has lost more than I do.

Are you referring to streamers that losing big time on gambling because they are just doing their job in exchange for their pay. They only lose their money for gambling but they earn constantly through referrals and casino partnerships. Most of the streamer reactions are fake and they are just doing a good job by portraying emotional distress when lose.

I rarely read or watch any topic related to gambling because we personally don’t care if other lose since gambling games is designed for the house to win which means most of the gamblers is destined to lose or else casino will be a non profitable business.
460  Other / Meta / Re: Was the forum better before without Merit or is it better now with Merit? on: December 04, 2023, 03:06:50 PM
Members, reputable members. Was it better before back then when this forum was without merits or is it better or even much better now with merits? Please explain your answer so users like me can get an idea how it was and what you prefer. Smiley

Much better with merits since there’s tons of spammer out there that literally posting nonsense on any thread just to farm an account because activity can be gained by just posting per 2 weeks.

Now, it’s very hard to farm account that decreases account sales which consider as a win for the merit system. Although there are some cases with merit begging but at least everyone is already trying to make a better post compared before.
