It allegedly contained Vod's personal information and was deleted from this thread last time I posted it so I don't think I need to beat a dead horse.
Thought we were talking about PMs, but if you're talking about the old links you posted, are you not already beating a dead horse that died a long time ago, when ripoffreport was shown to be an invalid source with bad information that *anyone* on the internet can submit anonymously?
442  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar. on: December 10, 2019, 04:24:32 PM
I agree.  The personal messages you sent me about you abusing children was in no way solicited and deeply concerning.

Full context proof, or it didn't happen.

Thank you theymos. There was a lot of great artwork, and a lot of great creativity!.. I couldn't imagine having to sort through it all and distribute awards/badges/etc.

While I do tend to cringe on poll threads like this in general, I'm at least happy to be part of the list!

Thanks to all the cool people who have, or will, vote for me.  Tongue

Let's try to somehow make the next 10 years even more interesting than the last.

^^ Well that's a tough bar to set...  Shocked

Happy Anniversary Bitcoin Forum!
445  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar. on: November 18, 2019, 08:26:52 PM
Damn eddie13, I thought I was the only one paranoid around here. Grin

The type of corrupt agencies you are throwing into the mix here would certainly not have needed Vod's dox, nor an IRS complaint, to attempt any of the things you've mentioned, and many people on this forum would have had the intelligence to have found Og's location in the past (still could). I'd guess the government agencies you are referring to are well aware of who the treasurers of this forum are, their locations, and probably even their financial information.

But as I've stated already, I didn't agree with a public dox and it did cross a line that I think should only be crossed if someone is confirmed 100% as a scammer.

In regards to the Ibminer insinuation, that's for them to sort out. There is no feedback I can see regarding any lost miners or reference to one so it would lead me to believe that a simple, "okay I fucked up and was thinking of someone else". Then here's the kicker something that seems so difficult for some people here to say, "sorry". I know earth shattering shit, don't know how I come up with it.

Thinking of someone else??  Who else would he be thinking of?

There's no feedback because it never happened. Nor will you see any feedback from Og to anyone saying they were sent a miner and ran away with it.
Why would he not have left feedback for something like that?  It's a little hard for me to believe he was thinking of someone else so I have no choice to think he made it up to attack my character and taint the validity of my post, just because he didn't like what I was saying.

As for the "sorry" comment, I saw Vod at least attempt a truce early on and it was ignored. Og doesn't seem to want this to end, he wants to win. Og has bumped this thread plenty after it has died down.

This has resulted in you already getting back 25% of your initial investment within 4 years while maintaining the purchased asset.  You are unhappy with this return.
My investment was in BTC and the returns were to be weekly BTC distributions to your coins address.
So the percentage you are looking for is < 1% (.6%) over the past 4 years. Do you believe this was a wise use of my BTC?

I know you want to blame me for everything, but the fact is that I'm a guy who continues to go above and beyond for the projects I support, and I tried to support your project, but you and Vod turned out to be total manipulative liars engaging in the regular lie and deflect tactic while the trolls circle.
I have no clue what you tried to work out with Vod, as that was between you and him. I've asked you numerous times in the past to show me more proof or evidence (in context) on any of your claims, and you won't. Explain to me where I've been a manipulative liar?

The fact you ibminer are still mad about a signature I wore for a month, 3 years ago, when I removed it as soon as I could speaks volumes about the level of control you think you can exert over others.  You and Vod are a perfect pair.
While I wouldn't blame you for my stupidity, I figured I still had a right to warn others not to be stupid.. and I don't believe I lied about anything. You trying to exert control over me to do otherwise (making up a story about me stealing, calling me a liar, and casually bringing up my dox) all seem a little hypocritical given the situation.
446  Other / Meta / Re: Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: November 16, 2019, 02:07:52 PM
And why is that? Because you didn't got as much merits as me? I can also say you plagiarized your entry as I don't think you made the background image yourself, is just downloaded from the internet and you have just put a trophy and a box to cover some details like a chip or something. So don't talk and especially don't give negative trust for plagiarism when you also make it.

P.S. Bitcointalk funny thing: a plagiarist who is calling others plagiarists getting merited.

I'd love for you to post a link to where I downloaded the background on my 1st entry and put a trophy on top of it?  Roll Eyes

Do you have anything to say about my 2nd entry?
(shameless plugs Tongue)

Yours came from: https://www.freedommag.org/special-reports/new-yorker/caption-the-cartoon/the-last-supper.html
Where it says below the image:
Quote
--snip--
Freedom asked our staff artists and writers to come up with the appropriate cartoons and captions inspired by Lawrence Wright, Paul Haggis and the rest of the apostate “Posse.” And to get everyone in on the act, we invite you, the reader, to vote for your favorite captions on each of the cartoons above.
--snip--

This, to me, says there were artists that created this cartoon and they held a contest on what caption goes best with the image.

I told you privately I was going to post something this weekend to garnish a community consensus, but based on what I'm seing here today, I don't think it's necessary.
If theymos thinks I was out of line with this feedback, he is welcome to call me out on it.

1) If someone from the contest used someone else image (even stock image) or idea should be considered plagiarism. There is no "true plagiarism" or "little plagiarism" there is only plagiarism. And if I look on the entries of the contest 90% are plagiarized.

2) The image I downloaded from freedommag.org made by an unknown artist is also plagiarized since he used da Vinci's idea (the last supper).
In my personal case, if using the image of someone who plagiarized da Vinci without giving credits is consider plagiarism, then I plagiarized the "unknown plagiarist" for 1 day (between the post and the added credits edit) so please ask a moderator/admin to remove all the merits received between or subtract them from the contest if removing them is not possible. My mistake, I can accept it.

1) Stock imagery is used all the time, various images online have various usage rights. A free public domain image that has no usage rights and is free for personal or commercial use, IMO, does not necessarily require credits in this situation. A stock image could depend on the type of usage rights a person has been granted when acquiring it. You appear to be getting into copyright infringement, which I think is worse than generalized plagiarism, as you are defining it. The two terms could go hand in hand but there are some differences.

2) It appears to me that "staff artists" created the image, as per my comment above. Da Vinci's stuff is in the public domain and I personally wouldn't consider it plagiarism nor copyright infringement.
447  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar. on: November 16, 2019, 05:59:51 AM
Alright.. I ended up drafting a response, but, it ended up at 946 words.  Undecided   I can't bring myself to post it.

When I read it, I felt like it's just going to be interpreted as me attacking Og and that's not what I want to be perceived as doing. It was my decision to invest in this coin and I've accepted that I'll never get my BTC back. I posted my comment to enlighten a new user, in a witty way, because all I can do is laugh about it at this point.. and I felt like I needed to say something, which I have a right to do.

I've been feeling like I have to defend myself because Og started making stuff up about me, calling me a liar, and making it look like I ran off with a miner he sent me (in edit#2)  (an edit he later switched out). None of this is true.

I'm going to try to summarize the remainder of my draft and hopefully not come off as attacking anyone, as that is not my intent.

My PM below is when I dropped support for NastyFans, in 2016, and when I realized I may have made a mistake with this coin because the person I thought I was dealing with was now appearing shady to me.

So your now a MoneyPot Fan? what happened to supporting your Nasty brand?   Huh
I guess your lack of response makes a little more sense now.  Hope they are paying you well...

--snipped a long re-quote from 2 weeks prior to this message--
The re-quote I mention is when I expressed my concerns about DogeDigital (a MoneyPot owner), laid out my case against him which I had already left feedback for, and asked for his opinion. (BTW, DogeDigital's trust didn't really get much better after that Roll Eyes )
Og never responded to me, but had frequently responded to me in the past. Nonetheless, <2 weeks later I had heard nothing back and then saw he removed his NastyFans sig and was now advertising for MoneyPot.

So I sent the message above expressing my dislike for it and re-quoting my original message, his response to this was that the money was too good of an offer to refuse.

He seemed to be happy with his purchase until the BTC rate jumped.  Huh

Was I happy at this point in 2016?  No... but at the end of the day, the man has a right to do whatever he wants with his signature, but it wasn't the type of person I personally wanted to go out of my way to support and didn't resemble the person I thought I had been dealing with, and I didn't trust him as much as I had.

I removed my own NastyFans signature and stopped my eagerness to support NastyFans, but I also wasn't comfortable passing the puck (so to speak) to someone else, so I still have the coin today.

Public post below (it was also described this way privately btw)
Each coin has 5 NastyFans seats attached to it that earn weekly distributions to the coin's address.

"weekly distributions" quickly turned into: See for yourself: Here is my public address for NastyFans for my minted seats

My purchase on 6/20/2015: 049bcdd256b10703d9d029ab32fec06b206d15bbf96848235d6bdf4071e72fed
weekly distributions to my coin's address:
Quote
06-26-2015  0.00119760
08-07-2015  0.00126795
11-06-2015   0.00106160
01-08-2016  0.00102240
06-16-2016  0.00119575
06-19-2016   0.00162045
04-15-2017   0.00113970
11-19-2017   0.00100070
nothing in 2018 or 2019
Total current amount in "queue" (accumulated since 11-19-2017): 0.0003855

I believe I have a right to be a little perturbed as it seems like future distributions are not coming anytime soon from my perspective.

Og and his mining operation are apparently doing just fine though, in the past 2 years: solar panels, wind turbines, power wall, sponsorships, etc.

I have no clue what he has mining (I don't recall ever seeing any pictures, I'd like to see some! Most miners love showing this stuff off) and I've got no clue what he could potentially be manipulating with statistics/hashrate/distributions/etc. I've lost trust that the man is sincere, and he's further proven this to me by the lies he threw at me yesterday, which was off-putting, at best.

The whole point of the seats were to get long-term weekly BTC distributions, so I really don't want to hear the "Oh but you've gotten $100 USD out of your $400 purchase 4 years ago". If I wanted to invest $400 and get $100 back 4 years from now, I wouldn't have used this forum or BTC at all. I expected to get weekly distributions returned in BTC consistently for the long-term, as that is how it was described to me.

I never expected 4 years later to have only gotten ~ .01BTC in "weekly" distributions. I also never expected the limited production batch of 100 coins would still be available 4 years later. The distributions were about the same in 2015 as they were towards the end of 2017, and seemed to have grinded to a halt now.

It is what it is. Like I said, I've had to accept my losses, but I am still justified to post what I posted. Hopefully I've helped someone avoid my mistakes.
448  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar. on: November 15, 2019, 04:54:26 AM
Nice to see Vod's little lacky blaming me for them spending BTC in 2015 at a lower rate...

I'm nobody's lacky and I'm not sure why this thread has anything to do with what I posted in another thread relating to you, NastyFans, my purchase, and a newbie asking a question.

He seemed to be happy with his purchase until the BTC rate jumped.  Huh

lol, no. I'll respond to this tomorrow, if anyone actually believes this, I can tell you my confidence in Og dropped significantly in 2016 and I don't even remember what the exchange rate was at the time. If I have to post PMs to prove this, I will, but I don't like doing it.. it's lame, but Og is resorting to doing this with me so I'm not sure I have much of a choice.
449  Other / Meta / Re: Has anyone ever purchased anything through BitcoinTalk on: November 15, 2019, 01:50:19 AM
Nice to see you're still able to cherry pick quotes.  Lips sealed  Grin

I'm feeling awfully witty today.

(EDIT #2)
Edit: ibminer, weren't you the guy who offered to host a miner on our behalf and then when I sent it to you we never saw it again?

Not sure if you're trying clever wordplay here or not but outside of a 5oz coin, you never sent me anything.

The only time you and I had a discussion about a miner was when I was offering you 2 miners I already owned for free so you could use them, for additional seats. I believe you told me to post them in the thread and give them away to someone else. I kept my miners.  (my edit: ok, I thought I offered them (2 miners) for free but my memory was off -- had to go back and check the messages.)

EDIT#3 (Og is playing edit games, disappointing.  Undecided   I'll try to keep each edit here as I see them.)

I've wanted a physical coin for a while, and like I said before, I like the concept of NastyMining/NastyFans, not to mention the coin looks great... and given the commendable effort you have put forth towards the bitcoin community in general, I have no doubts about the potential for success in the Nasty* Brand. If it ends up being a loss on my end, hopefully you can put it to good use. Long story short, I'm in for one Tongue

How quickly things change when someone starts telling lies to blame others for their decisions...
^ Like your edits?? (sorry, still feeling witty today... Smiley )

Look, I'm just trying to educate the newbie whom is asking about making purchases and you started circling like a shark, referencing your feedbacks, of which I am a part of. Where did I lie in my post?

I fully accept it was an unwise investment on my behalf.. but my decision was made based on how the concept was described to me in 2015 and who I thought I was dealing with in 2015. Live and learn, I guess.

Everything I've said is the truth.

You really don't want to start pulling out old PMs. I honestly have no interest in causing you any further damages to you or your organization and I'd prefer you not make me put you or me in any awkward situations. And no, this isn't a threat, just know that I will not have someone call me a liar when it is not true. It's unfair and uncalled for.
450  Other / Meta / Re: Has anyone ever purchased anything through BitcoinTalk on: November 14, 2019, 09:04:58 PM
I recall one purchase I've made in the past... a physical coin. You wanna buy it?

It's a NastyFans 5oz silver physical bitcoin with 5 minted seats which collect a little bitcoin dust every year. You could have everything its collected over the past 4 years PLUS any dust in the future! It would be just like you're joining the club in 2015 -- instant old timer! PLUS it also makes a great looking paper weight.

OgNasty just said physical bitcoins will rise in value though, so it's even tougher to let this go now, but I'm willing to sell it for the price I bought it for... ~1.6BTC. Since your new, I'll even cut you a huge deal -- 1BTC w/free shipping!  Shocked  Embarrassed

It's a steal of a deal!!  PM if interested!!  Roll Eyes

I'd say "/sarcasm" here.. but IF you wanna buy it -- I'm serious!! Cheesy

....Keep your BTC or buy BTC!
451  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: November 14, 2019, 05:45:45 PM
How about this one:

As long as this guy has some way to confirm he is "YesterdaysNews2" from reddit, it wouldn't be considered plagiarism. Whether or not it should be considered a valid entry.. I'd say probably not. Not specifically related to bitcointalk, and obviously didn't spend any time on it for this contest.

However, something doesn't sit right with me and this account acting like they are "Leafandwoodshop.com". He's only once mentioned the website and started his first post saying he accepts BTC only. Why wouldn't they be linking to their own website and also accepting BTC?  "Leafandwoodshop.com" obviously accepts other payment types.

He also links all of his images through imgur.com. It seems to me that if "leadandwoodshop.com" were going to come here to sell their products, they'd be linking to their own website images and would just add a bitcoin payment option.... so it smells odd to me, not entirely impossible though.

Someone may want to reach out to leafandwoodshop.com and see if they are trying to sell their items on this forum.
452  Other / Meta / Re: Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: November 14, 2019, 12:00:13 PM
It's still funny and fits the contest.

How does it fit the contest??

Post original bitcointalk.org art in this thread along with a Bitcoin address. Any art you post must be created by you.

I feel like this should be considered true plagiarism. It's crazy it received so much merit, only if the guy drew these images himself should it deserve that much merit.

Also, even if he gives "credits", it doesn't mean the artist that created it is ok with him taking it and defacing it, then entering it into a contest. He didn't create anything unique or original, merely defaced another groups artwork without their permission and then wrote his name on it as if he did it, then entered it into a contest meant for unique and original artwork. The fact that he posted it without any credit, and signed his name on it, says to me he meant to steal it as his own work.

Had I of known I just had to come up with funny comments to plaster onto someone else's image, I don't know why I would have spent so much of my time creating a unique piece of work.

This dude didn't even take the time to center his text in his the artists chat/thought bubbles and gets over 100 merit. lol Roll Eyes

At best, it's an insult to those that spent actual time with their work.
453  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: November 10, 2019, 09:54:02 PM
I think the OP has got the answers for his questions. This thread can be locked now as it creates confusion for new users by seeing the same topic name or the topic name can be changed.

This thread is linked in the main thread by theymos, as the location for additional discussion... why would the OP lock it??  A subject change, possibly, but it's really not that confusing.

Keep this thread clean: only post art and discuss the art posted, staying very on-topic. No "reserved" posts, please -- it only clutters the thread. See this thread for more commentary, questions/answers, and comments.
454  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why say "NO" to Web wallet on: November 09, 2019, 03:47:37 PM
Whether or not a website is going through an upgrade or completely offline for a month, as long as you have the private key, you'd have your wallet (assuming that site didn't steal an unencrypted form of your private key and use it to move your coins, of course).

blockchain.info/.com has been around since 2011 and has never had any major issues to my knowledge. That said, technically anything sent through the internet has a chance of being captured, but in the case of blockchain.com, it should end up getting captured in an encrypted form.

I don't personally use any web wallets and keep everything local with Core, but I realize it's not a practical solution for everyone.

I believe it's a matter of who you chose to trust, your own security practices, and convenience. Web wallets can be convenient and needed but you definitely want the private key, and you have to have some trust the website provider is actually encrypting the key and not stealing it and/or claims they're hacked and the hacker changes the site to steal your keys/password/coins/etc (Instawallet comes to mind).

Also, any browser access to any web wallet, exchange, or any site including blockchain.com always carries a risk of browser-based infections/malware. And even local software has the potential of system-based infections/viruses, none of that would be the fault of the web wallet or the local software since you have to make it your own personal responsibility to keep your system and browser free from those types of infections (and of course keeping the e-mail account secured that you've used with these services).

With Coinbase, you will have no private key. They go down or deny you access, it's their wallet and their private key that "your" coins will be associated with. They should always be treated like an exchange IMO.
455  Other / Off-topic / Re: DNS over HTTPS on: November 09, 2019, 03:12:25 PM
This isn't a Meta issue... DoH is unrelated to Cloudflare's DDoS protection service.

I'd think anything DNS-related is unrelated to a DDoS attack, in general.. not just CloudFlare. Unless the DDoS is targeting a DNS server with resolutions in an attempt to overwhelm it, they are typically attacking one or more IPs with some form of traffic and don't really need a DNS server at all. Might be why the thread started derailing. Tongue

If we're going to discuss DoH in general, it doesn't seem to me it is really protecting anyone from being tracked by ISPs or middle-men, if that's what the point of this is supposed to be. Outside of something like Tor, once this encrypted resolution is complete, you would still be connecting to a public IP address that could be tracked and identified potentially using RDNS or just a DB that is kept which conducts regular resolutions on domains they may want to monitor, and stores the IPs to cross-reference.

I don't think it is ever a good idea adding an additional point of failure for a DNS resolution inside of a browser as I'd think this could negatively effect a users experience within the browser if CF is having issues, I don't quite understand why DoT isn't more of an accepted solution in the situation.
456  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Denarius. Another P/D scam project from well known scammer Carsen Klock ! on: November 09, 2019, 02:33:33 AM
He started Denarius like 1 month after his last scam coin (TorCoin).. Rinse and repeat.  Roll Eyes

Funny enough, he said this in the Nightmare coin thread:
Just wanted to say fuck you to everyone that thinks this coin or all these other coins popping up are mine, none of them are made by me, my last coin is CKcoin which you as a community also burned to the ground, I won't ever make coins for this community again, you are immature little kids that don't know anything about investing, speculative markets, pump n' dumps, programming, design, marketing, or anything related to do anything productive in anyway. You just troll and FUD every thread saying its my creation, well its not and if it was I would straight tell you. So fuck off ya doucheclown troll.

But then PM'd me this after I left feedback for TorCoin, where I referenced Nightmare, Shadow, etc....

You should probably get your facts straight before you go posting shit all over the internet.

I made Nightmare.
It wasent a scam.
Torcoin is based off my Nightmare source

I think mine is self explanatory?  Wink  It was ultimately the first thing that came to my head when I signed up and revolved around what I was doing.. mining.

I'd also like to take this time to speculate that theymos picked his name because he likes the months with Y in it! (January, February, July, May). The Y Months(mos). Maybe he just likes winter, summer, and spring?  Grin   Ya know, Bitcoin was released in January!.. fiscal year begins in July... it all makes sense. lol  Cool
460  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: November 08, 2019, 02:56:12 PM
No one can predict who is the winner in contest.

If about reward 1-20 badges to best art. I think there are 45% Digital Art, 45% Real Art. And 10% is cake art  Grin

Come on now, digital art is "real" art!  It's all real art, including the cakes. Maybe you meant traditional art?  Smiley

IMO, art can be very simple or very complex in its design, but both scenarios could be great pieces of art work. I think art is best judged based on what the image says or the feelings it may create to a person and the meanings behind it which should come through to a person in the work, maybe in various ways.

Personally, I think a portion of the entries are just aimed towards Bitcoin, not entirely bitcointalk. Doesn't mean its bad art, we certainly have some talented people here, but I would have had a different thought process and design if this were a BTC anniversary art contest. All fun stuff to look at though!  Grin

The caption has been removed.
Much better caption BTW! Smiley
